My daughter and now son-in-law had a wedding weekend at Full Moon. We couldn't ask for a more beautiful weekend. Weather was perfect! Food was extraordinary! I mean we're talking every meal! And the Staff! Every person who works at Full Moon felt like they were part of our family! LeighAnn was our event planner and there aren't enough words to say how terrific she is! She helped create a fairytale for Johnny and Becca! We started on Friday night with a BBQ and a campfire! I never tasted ribs and mac and cheese that was created from such a talent chef! Saturday was hiking, swimming in the beautiful pool, corn hole contests, kickball and just sitting around visiting with family and new family that we've never met! The ceremony was in the lower grove by the creek. So beautiful! Then cocktails at the Inn. The Hudson Valley spread was so farm to table. And the best part was there wasn't the usual over the top- too much amount of food! Perfect amount to set the stage for a gormet dinner. We ended with pies! I bought sparklers to lead the way to the after party at the performance tent! We ended with a good bye breakfast! Couldn't have been more perfect! Thank you ! Thank you! I see some other reviews that talk about how secluded Full Moon is. Well, it is so you need to do your homework and know what you personally want. Badmouthing the venue because you didn't educate yourself isn't their fault. This is an out of the way, quiet, tranquil space. A time to reflect and get away from the noise and confusion of the world. There is wi-fi, no cell service but we were all too busy having fun and enjoying life to need a cell phone. Just attended a weekend wedding here as a guest and had a great time. Spectacular location, delicious food (including vegetarian options), variety of fun indoor and outdoor venues, attentive staff. After reading other posts, I think the key to a good experience is managing guests' expectations from the start: lack of cell phone service, small rooms, shared bathrooms, no A/C, spread-out lodgings all accurate. But as a package, it worked well for our group, which ranged from families with infants to older folks needing golf-cart transport around the resort. We appreciated the big swimming pool and used a field for games. S'mores by the fire pit, soccer with cousins and aunts and uncles, the lovely ceremony--those are our takeaways! read more

decent place but it could use a few improvements. it's pretty secluded, which is great, but there's no cell phone service. i guess there is wi-fi but i don't have a smart phone. the hotel rooms they have here don't have land line phones either, so communication here can be kind of rough. the rooms don't have TVs either, which i got along without just fine but if you have kids they might get bored easily seeing as how there's no real towns close by to do anything in. the place is beautiful though, unfortunately when i was there the full moon couldn't be seen because it was too cloudy, there was a bit of rain as well. most of the staff seemed very helpful, the people at the front desk and the grounds guy were very helpful. most of the servers were pretty good too but i'll get to my one grip a little later. so the room i stayed in was pretty nice. it was all wood walls and while it was hot and stuffy when we got there it freshened up a bit when we opened all the windows and got the ceiling fan going. they also provided an oscillating room fan as well, which was definitely a plus. now here's the part that i love. i have skin allergies, so i have to do my laundry in special detergents and use special soaps and shampoos, and all the soaps here were natural products with no artificial fragrances! i got to sleep on clean sheets without my skin breaking out! no onto the food. friday night there was a welcome BBQ. best meal of the whole weekend. i love legit smoked BBQ, and while this wasn't smoked it was still good, moist and tender pork and chicken with a few selections of BBQ sauce (which i believe was cattleman's). the sides they had were good and they had a local IPA in the beer selection that was good as well. the next morning there was a pretty good breakfast. bacon, eggs, blueberry pancakes, cereal, muffins and more, very nice start to the day. the lunch a couple hours later was probably the worst meal of the weekend. not much of a selection, tuna salad of hummace on a pita. now onto dinner. the bread with dipping oil was good, i think there was a salad but i don't remember, but salad is whatever. as for the main dish, i selected the steak which came with mashed potatoes. i know cooking that many steaks the same can be a pain in the butt, but everyone else at the tables had theirs medium rare and mine was medium. i'm not complaining about that though, i actually don't care for rare, but i feel it was the server. mine was the smallest steak on the table, which is probably why it was more done than the others. the server also served me last at the table every time he was there, even if there was an empty seat, so maybe he didn't like me, i dunno. i thought the steak and potatoes tasted fine but my friend's dad the next day said that he felt it lacked flavor. the breakfast the next morning was good but i liked the previous day's better. this time they had french toast, which was great, and also some egg dish that i don't recall the name. it was ok but i would have preferred regular eggs. no muffins this time either. overall i'd give this place a 3.5, maybe even a little more. i did have a lot of fun the weekend i was there, but i could see how someone else with a shorter attention span could have a bit of a problem. read more

My husband Pete and I booked our wedding at Full Moon Resort in November 2013 for the following Memorial Day Weekend (they gave us a great deal being only 6 months out, but this meant a lot of scrambling for us). On our first visit the grounds were snowed covered so we didn't get a great sense of how beautiful the place would be; we met with Paul to go over our options, he was very thorough and gave us multiple different scenarios to think about. Once we booked, our planner Melanie stepped in. I didn't know what to expect, I had never interacted with a wedding planner before. Melanie was very dry, at first I thought she was unenthusiastic and was a little put off, but soon realized she deals with soon-to-be brides on an everyday basis - she's got to stay sane somehow. Pete and I were living in Indiana at the time so we were planning everything remotely. We had multiple phone conversations and lots of emails back and forth to iron out the details. The checklists were done and we could only hope for the best. The weather on May 25th, 2014 was amazing. It rained the day before and the day after. Everything fell together perfectly, the very few regrets I have about our wedding had nothing to do with Full Moon. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. All of our guests were impressed with the rooms and grounds and wanted to know how we found this beautiful place in the middle of nowhere :) We would pick Full Moon a thousand times over if we could relive our wedding day. read more

My husband and I got married at Full Moon resort in May 2014 and were incredibly happy with the service and grounds and would highly recommend it to anyone! People are still talking about how amazing our wedding was! We went to one other venue before Full Moon which was a disaster so when we spoke to Paul on the phone and met Michael, both owners of Full Moon, we were relieved. They were so kind and professional and we could tell they really cared about making our day special. Michael was mindful of our budget and helped us to plan a wonderful day for a very reasonable price. (The other venus we had looked at would have cost thousands more and would have required a lot of work hiring other vendors and whatnot). They give you options that could cost a bit more but we chose a cheaper menu and chose fewer amenities. We did choose to rent a barn for an additional price and it was worth every penny. The barn was gorgeous, I literally teared up when I walked in it the first time because I loved it so much. We used this for dinner and dancing and had cocktail hour on the lawn. There is also another barn, with a cool bar and sitting/dancing area that we went over to after dinner. The grounds are beautiful and there are a lot of different spots where you could have your ceremony. We chose to have ours down by the creek which was further back on the property but Full Moon provided golf karts to anyone who needed it to get to the location with. The gold karts ran most of the night too which was really nice. There is no other word to explain the day of our wedding but magical. Full Moon was there to help us with every little detail (to helping set up our decorations, to putting down towels when I sat down on the golf cart - which I did not request but they wanted to make sure I didn't get my dress dirty, to making sure all of our guests were having a great time). The staff was so nice and was incredibly helpful. Consuela was by our side all night, working with the catering staff, and she was amazing! Always there to make sure we had full drinks and smiles on our faces. She was just the sweetest and treated us like family. With your wedding you are assigned a wedding planner, who you work with before the wedding to make sure everything is planned and set up ahead of time. We worked with LeighAnn and she was great and thought of every detail. Nothing went undone and everything went smoothly! We had one guest forget to mention he was allergic to peanuts so when he ate the salad we chose which contained almonds, he had a really bad allergic reaction. LeighAnn was there to help him and we didn't even know it happened until the next day when she mentioned it to us, which was great because I would have stressed over it otherwise. The food was incredible!! We chose chicken and salmon and the vegetarian option was a stuffed pepper with feta, corn, black beans, tofu, etc. All of the guests loved the food. The drinks were really good too, not too strong and were fairly poured. You are required to rent a certain number of rooms, depending on the package you get. We were able to fill all of the rooms so that was no problem. The rooms were really neat and we had no complaints. We chose a room with a skylight, which was a bit small but it was really charming. There are plenty of other bigger rooms, each with it's own benefits. You assign where people stay, so make sure you ask people to RSVP and ask for specifics of what they need in a room. There are some houses that have shared bathrooms, others with private bathrooms. There are also private cabins, which are beautiful. Some of our guests would not stay overnight unless they had a private bathroom, so things like that are important to think about. (We didn't have any problems with that though, there are enough rooms with private bathrooms. We just put family in the houses with shared bathrooms). I could not recommend Full Moon enough. Everything went smoothly, the staff was amazing and the grounds were beautiful. Full Moon made our day so special and we are so grateful to them for all of their hard work! read more

I am SO thankful that my mom stumbled upon Full Moons website! Their gorgeous venue is exactly what my husband and I had in mind for our wedding, and when we found out about their all-inclusive weekend wedding packages we were sold! We are both in the military and therefore have friends and family all over the US so the idea of a laid back bonfire BBQ rehearsal dinner, and Sunday brunch was perfect for us to give our families and friends a chance to get to know one another since it would be the first time they had ever met. Not to mention the weekend wedding package also came with a wedding coordinator, and again, working full time and going to school made it difficult to also plan a wedding. I could NOT have done it without LeighAnn! She was absolutely fantastic to work with from day 1 until we drove off after our wedding! I ask a lot of questions and LeighAnn answered my emails and calls right away every time and she always knew the answer. Also, the co-owner, Michael was so kind and threw in several complimentary services/items for my husband and I as a military discount. We were very budget conscious so we also took advantage of the winter wedding specials and had every single thing we wanted and settled on nothing, all within our budget, believe it or not! Our guests STILL rave about how amazing the food was, how sweet, helpful and accommodating EVERY single staff member was, and how gorgeous and relaxing the grounds were. Although Wi-Fi is available our guests loved being able to "un-plug" from society and enjoy a peaceful weekend in the mountains. I recommend this to anyone who wants a beautiful, rustic, easy, affordable wedding! I couldn't imagine having our wedding any place else! read more

I had my wedding here in March. I was super concerned about every little detail, especially the quality of the food (as I have many self proclaimed 'foodies' in the family) and the venue for our Wedding ceremony, which was to be held in the upper lodge area. After our tasting with Melody, I was no longer worried about the food. The chef tries to get local food as much as possible...and everything was extremely tasty and fresh...good enough to impress any discerning palate! He made sure that I had gluten free bread options for every meal (practically unheard of!) and he made sure I had vegan and vegetarian options for my other family members... Upon first sight of the rooms, I was wondering about how comfortable everyone would be. They're not meant to be very fashionable. Things creak and the rooms and cabins have a very rustic feel. There are no phones in the room and no cell service on the premises. (more on this later). Needless to say, I wasn't convinced at first, but after experiencing it-everything turned out perfectly. The beds are comfortable. I stayed in two different rooms, one the night before and we had a cabin the night of our wedding. We had great hot water, and the pressure was wonderful (so necessary for stressful/nervous events! :-) The toiletries which are provided are a wonderful lavender scent. I think they're organic too. All I can say was, as the bride, waking up in the main lodge with all of my bridesmaids and my closest family near, the morning of my wedding made me feel so comforted and loved. And, as crazy as it sounds, having shared bathrooms made it seem like we were in one big house with everyone's door open, all of the lively chatter happening all around you...kind of magical. You wouldn't get that in a regular hotel, with other guests running around, and the rooms so far apart. It snowed the day before my wedding, so everything was sparkly and blanketed with the layer of white. On the day of, I was so glad to see that the performance space was transformed with a bit of ribbon strewn over the rafters and a runner. You can really make the space anything you want, and it was really nice to have the fire going in the back :-) We had about 50 people as guests, and I would say we used only about half the space available. Overall, it was an amazing experience...I can't say enough good things about the staff. We all have the crazy people in our families that are quite difficult to deal with...and when those people decided they were going to be difficult the staff dealt with them in a polite and respectful manner. The staff went above and beyond to please my family and friends with extra requests or random things needed. They were especially sweet when my aunt, flying from Washington, had been flying all day with delayed flights, when the last leg of her flight was cancelled in NYC, she was amazing and drove up from NYC, in the middle of the night, to be at the Full Moon when I woke up...when the staff heard what was going on, they made sure to make full plates from the rehearsal dinner for them and leave them out with their room key and a sweet welcome note...talk about going above and beyond! As a side note, due to there not being cell service, no drunk photo's were posted on instagram, facebook etc...No cell phones went off during our ceremony or during our reception speeches...Great for us...great for our guests...and while no in room landlines are provided...if you can't take a day off, there is wireless in most all of the rooms...so I'd suggest getting some skype credit and then putting your phone/tablets down to enjoy the rest of your time at the Full Moon Resort! read more

My daughter's wedding was held at Full Moon on May 17th of this year. The entire experience was joyful. The site was magical, the food was excellent, but most important of all were the people at Full Moon. Everyone, from the owners to the waitstaff, could not have been more accommodating, cheerful, and genuinely concerned with making our wedding weekend joyful and trouble free. Every care was taken to see that we were happy, even unexpectedly bringing a breakfast up to the bride while she was having hair and make-up done. We chose Full Moon for our wedding because we wanted a semi-destination (just 2.5 hours outside of NYC) weekend wedding in a beautiful, rustic setting. Full moon is absolutely beautiful and absolutely rustic (the rooms are extremely Spartan, with no recent renovations in sight). It is reasonably priced for the area, and while you pay a lot of weddings, we got a lot for what we paid for. In addition to our wedding, reception, and after party, we also hosted a Friday night BBQ and campfire at Full Moon. We were very happy with the staff (servers, bartenders, owners, receptionist, etc), especially our event manager, Lindsay, who was hard-working and receptive, and whose opinion I grew to trust. There was more than one surprise during the weekend (including a freak October snowstorm- note that it's 20-30 degrees colder up there than it is in the NYC metro area!) and a few disappointing mishaps. The mistakes involved our menu choices (they served the wrong potatoes at our wedding dinner) and specifics to our wedding (referring to our wedding as a "commitment"). However, Henry, one of the co-owners, and Lindsay, were very apologetic and offered us an appropriate discount on our final bill. Only wish it had been spring - at this lovely resort for a family wedding. We really didn't understand the "bathroom down the hall" statements and were not sure what to expect. We were in the Main House - upstairs room on the left. I've had NY and Paris hotel rooms larger than this one, with better beds and quieter walls, (I know that one family member snores) BUT that was my only issue. The location was fantastic - the wedding in the Lodge across the street, the food was amazing, the ambiance of the locale and how neat it was to be "away, away". Reception at the Barn House was perfect - close enough to the main building where they had the cocktail hour. Then back to the Lodge for the afterparty and we were up until 2am. Didn't sleep well the bed was lumpy and I heard the guests in the next room. The hallway bathrooms upstairs were brand new, clean and the shower was hot and strong, soaps and shampoos were excellent. We heard from other guests that the outer buildings didn't have as many bathrooms and showers, so double check. Kudos to the staff on a fabulous breakfast buffet and lots of coffee! Our daughters wedding here was just fabulous. Everything was better than I could have imagined. The weather was perfect which definitely helped. The grounds and the facilities are gorgeous. The lodges and the cabins are adorable, not fancy but comfortable. The food and the service was excellent. LeighAnne is extremely efficient and professional and she did an outstanding job.
