My transmission on my 91 Honda Accord started giving the usual symptoms slipping, slamming into gear and missing gears. I knew it was the transmission which meant I was going to fork out $$$. Several years ago I had a transmission go out on my 05 Acura TL which at the time I made the mistake of going to Aamco. Nothing wrong with them, I just overpaid ($4500). I wasn't going down that route again. So this time around I called 5 shops to get a bid. I got a hold of 3 shops, 2 of the shops didn't answer my voice mail nor callback. One shop wanted $3400-$3700. The other wanted $2600. Keep in mind I have a 91 Accord which is probably worth $1500 on a good day, tops, so spending $3700 was not even an option. I know what you're thinking... that's an old car. I know...I keep her around because she's a good commuter car, great on gas and I don't want another car payment. With that said, I contacted Ruben at Fulton Transmission, he gave me a price significantly lower than the above mentioned shops. While the car was in the shop he inspected the car and found a few other items that needed some attention. My out the door cost was still WAY lower than both bids. I didn't give 5 out of 5, since I called a few times about the status of my car while it was in the shop and the phone just rang. I would wait 15 minutes and try again and eventually got someone. So have patience when calling, they are super busy, just keep calling, trust me it's worth it. For quality of work and value, 5 out of 5. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the work done. read more

I was recommended to Fulton Transmission by the tow truck company that was towing my car to AAMCO. I took the recommendation and have been pleased with the service that was provided by Ruben and his brother Jason Ramirez. Prices is very affordable and they even gave me a 2 year warranty. Several weeks later I noticed an issue with how the car was driving and they took it back and fixed it at no charge. Because of the service they provided I had my daughter take her car there for some minor repair work and they again was reasonably priced. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants great work done at a reasonable price. I know we all tend to be skeptical when dealing with auto repair shops. Reuben is a really nice guy, but this shop lacks professionalism in a big way. I brought the car in for some transmission noise, they charged a very fair amount and had the car back to me in two days. They would have had five stars if this is where the story ended. After doing an axel, an a arm, all the transmission mounts, a clutch adjustment and a transmission service the car should have been up to par. The car didn't drive well after the service, and had it been tested out that would have been clear. It vibrated and pulled to the right. They left multiple vacuum lines disconnected and on a day of 100+ heat this lead to warm air blowing through my defrost vents. They broke my cruise control and within days I broke down from overheating. I took it back to them a second time, and Reuben offered to fix the wobble at no charge. They had the car for three work days and a weekend, I needed a new radiator and he replaced the axel as well. My cruise control still doesn't work, I still have some transmission noise, they broke my sideskirt (although he did take money off the bill) and I found his kid's homework in my back seat, leading me to believe the reason it took so long was because he was using MY car for personal use. Everytime I visit the shop, he talks about how he needs to party less, which given that he's been using MY car, makes me really aggravated. If it wasn't for the fact he is a nice guy, and took some off my bill, this place wouldn't deserve a single star. He'll be getting a call from me today regarding the use of my car for personal errands. read more

That someone told me I needed to rebuild my transmission, which was going to cost me $3K. (The dealership wanted twice that for a new one, but I'm no sucker. ) Desperate for a second opinion, I found Fulton Transmission on Yelp, and I'm so glad I did! Reuben told me it wasn't my transmission but my valve body. Free diagnosis, and it cost me over $1K less to replace the valve body instead of rebuild the transmission. All his services comes with a 6-month warranty, and he does German cars! Any make except Saabs. I'm so glad because I love my car and was not ready to part with it. Reuben is an honest guy with great prices, and I am definitely taking my car back when it's actually time to replace the vacuum pump the dealership has been telling me to take care of for three years. read more

I found this repair shop through yelp and was treated fairly at first. I was not charged to diagnose my car. Next the mechanic called and stated he knew I wanted to get rid of my car, and he wanted to show it to his sister. I have been waiting to hear back from the mechanic on where he would leave my car for pick up, and if he would purchase it from me. I have been leaving messages since last Saturday for Ruben to call me back. No one has returned my call. Not Ruben or the ladies in the office. I'd this a scam to charge me $45 a day for storage? I am a full time student with a broke down car, and a mechanic who is taking advantage of a female student who has no time to waste. I have never written a review on a company, but believe this needed to addressed so the public can make an educated decision when spending money, time, and energy. My van had an issue with what seemed like to the transmission where it was having trouble deciding on what gear to be in when driving up hill or on the freeway. I took it to Fulton Transmission where they offered to take a look at it for free. Within 20 minutes they came back and told me that all it needed was a tune up and it would take care of the issue. The price was reasonable and I agreed to have the work done. Within a couple of hours I had my van back and it drives great. Problem solved! I am so thankful that I found this shop!! I just bought my 2006 Nissan Altima about 1 month ago and have been having problems with it starting and the check engine light coming on. The guy that I bought it from is a mechanic (supposedly) so I have had to take my car back to him 3 times already and every time I just waste my time because he seems to just make my car worse or do work on it that doesn't change anything! He then proceeds to tell me he doesn't know what's wrong and to give him 24 hours to think about it! Wtf! Needless to say, I didn't trust him anymore and told him I was just gonna spend the money and take it to a real mechanic and get some real answers! In my wisdom to take care my car, I accidentally put windshield wiper fluid in the coolant section of the car. I called the dealership for help. They said it needed to be flushed out to the tune of $228.00. Remembering that All Transmissions had worked on my car at least two years ago, I called and explained the situation. This guy REUBEN kept our car for 1 year giving us all kinds of excuses as to why he could not fix the car as promised. He eventally refunded us our money, but that doesn't solve the extra cost we incurred to get back and forth to work. When contacting him after the year to get some type of "resolution" he only stated, " are you an attorney" hung up on us. This is not classy, ethical, or humane!! So my first experience with Fulton Transmissions goes back to 2009 and i had a suburban that wasn't running right and making a lot of weird noises. So I called around a few places and was told many different things. Then I called Fulton transmission and Ruben said to me ,"why don't you just bring it on over we'll take a look at it no charge just to let you know what it most likely is and we will go from there?." I thought well great,everywhere else wanted money for me to even come through the door. So after the truck after the truck was , there I got a call and was told what I already had expected my transmission had broke on me and they could take it apart and diagnose exactly what it is and that would be included in repair cost,which at most shops it isn't usually. So cool. So I'm fine with the truck needing repair because it happens, but this was right before Thanksgiving and the Black Friday sale when I do my kids shopping. so I was sad because I thought I would be without a vehicle,Ruben told me he didn't think it would be ready but they would do their absolute best. the next day they stayed late to finish my truck and because I'm a single mother and I had nobody to come bring me to pick my truck up they dropped it off to me. Absolutely terrible!!!!! No communication people are very unprofessional and they don't care about the quality of there work. Was told numerous lies about when the vehicle will be done and lies about what was wrong with it. When I picked up the vehicle there was numerous locations of grease marks all over the doors the steering wheel the carpet. Just slobs! I am not one to complain like this but people need to know to go somewhere else. I had to finish the job myself and also they didn't even put some of the parts back on the vehicle. As I sat and watched the way they worked on other peoples stuff made me pissed off. Absolutely zero quality control...Zero. This place should be shut down!! I will probably file a complaint with the bureau of automotive repair. I cant tell you how many times i have been there to have the same transmission worked on. Over and over and over and the same shitty work with the same slobs leaving there mess all over my vehicle..BEWARE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! read more

This is our third time in a month going back to this place. We originally went in to get our radiator replaced, after the tow truck driver who towed us there recomended them. They had it fixed within a half an hour, which seemed a little too fast for me. As we were driving home the same day, out car began overheating, then stopped running all together.. They were closed by that time, so we had our car towed home. The next morning we had it towed over there again. They replaced some hoses, then told us that our water pump was going out, and that we should have a new one installed. We took their advice and had it done. Although we didn't drive it a whole lot after that, it ran fine when we did. A couple of weeks later the engine began heating up again, and again it stopped running. We had to have it towed home again as it was a Sunday and the shop was closed. Now tomorrow we have to have it towed back over there again. Luckily, we have a six month warranty on parts and labor, but I'm wondering how many times we will have to have them fix it. We normally take our car to OK TIRE on Auburn Blvd., but we made the mistake of listening to the tow truck driver.. Tomorrow I'm going to tell them to have a mechanic fix it, because whoever "fixed" it last time was no mechanic! read more
