Went here with a large group of friends (8/9) for a brunch birthday celebration. Reservations for the large party was done via text and an easy process. The decor is top notch! The designer did a great job with the layout and choices for decor. Upon entry there's an outdoor patio area that gives a very "secluded, rain forest " feel with wild leaves and foliage. Very cute. Inside is a very dim, romantic mood with low lighting and emerald greens and gold tones. They do offer cigars on the outside patio with a view of the city. I started with the Mimosa Flight whiwh included 4 flavors & then had the Chicken & Waffles and the home potatoes (not ok the menu but ask for them). It was DEEELICUOSS. This is a great hang out spot and it was my first time visiting. I love to be around my people , so they definitely pass the vibe check. So my Bartender was Rose. And she was great and attentive. I'm not sure why I have reviews the restaurant yet, but it's one of my favorites. I went here after church Sunday because another restaurant I wanted to try was closed. This is one of my favorite brunch spots. It's solid. Good music, good food, good service, and good drinks. I always recommend it when people ask about places to eat brunch. I'm a creature of habit and almost always order the chicken and waffles. The waffles have a crisp outside with a fluffy center. The chicken is fried crisp as well. I usually don't add syrup to mine because the drizzle and powdered sugar are sweet enough for me. The fruit topping is also fresh. This time I tried the Fumee Famous wings for a second time. I thought I loved them the first time but they were just ok to me this time. I think there was too much honey is the sauce or too much sauce. The last time I think I got more of the Old Bay flavor versus the honey. I'm not sure if I would try it again. I highly recommend stopping into this beautiful spot! This place was the definition of an elevated lounge experience. Drinks, food, great music, and hookah. The decor was so tasteful and detailed. From the wicker basket light fixtures, to the woven tapestries, to the bold leather chairs there were elements of class. I loved that they dimmed the lights during the dinner crowd which enhanced the intimacy of the space and helped bring out the smoothness in the R&B they had on rotation. So atmosphere a 10/10. Then the food ended up being delicious too! I highly recommend the deep fried lobster tail with the mustard sauce. Also, the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp was just right. The drinks were as beautiful as they were strong. I got the right mix of "cute enough for a picture" and strong enough to only need two rounds. So the fare also 10/10. Lastly, I want to comment on the service. Our waitress was excellent! 10/10. Definitely ask for Shawn with the glasses if you plan to stop in. She will make sure you are treated well. I'd go here if I want a nice chill night out with the girls, maybe some good hookah and a cocktail. However, the music is way too loud, I was literally yelling to speak to my partner who was right across from me. The food was terrible. We had the Mac and cheese, wings, and the waygu sliders. The sliders were literally the best ! Very tasteful, waygu cooked to the perfect temp and a perfect snack as for the Mac and wings, the Mac literally had no taste just a very well crusted top and the wings way were too big for my liking l (personal thing) our server had no spunk she was just dry with us and the only time she actually moved quick was after she sat our check down. I think this place is described as a eclectic brunch spot that is nicely decorated, and I would have to agree with that description wholeheartedly. My lady and I attended a birthday party last Saturday at Fumay. A couple of impressions upon arriving. First, we went for a brunch birthday party and it looks like they have both evening and late night service, so I'm not sure what the atmosphere and parking looks like during those time frames but at two in the afternoon, the parking lot is packed! Definitely not the most convenient parking experience, but not the worst. They share parking with several other businesses including a food hall, so just be prepared to not cut it short if you are showing up for a reservation be prepared. Like other reviews have mentioned, upon entering, you will immediately notice the upscale-esque interior, girded by repeating gold and black colors and matching accessories and wallpaper. The restaurant consist of a combination of booths, low tables and high tables, and a small bar that can accommodate five stools at the most. Definitely a very efficient use of the space. We were seated at one of the high tables, closer to the front of the restaurant, which ended up being a very high traffic area with super tight space between the tables. Because there were multiple groups, celebrating birthday parties, both the patrons and the waiters found it extremely difficult to get up and down the isles between the tables to take orders, or to exit and use the restroom if you were sitting at one of the tables. I get trying to pack as many people as you can to up your per table take, but this might be a little too tight. From a menu standpoint, I was initially pleased with the selection that I found between the brunch items and the regular dinner menu. However, we were informed by the waitress that the brunch menu was the only menu being served. And on that menu, they are approximately five entrees, including shrimp and grits, a chicken sandwich, chicken, and waffles and one other traditional breakfast plate that I can't quite remember. Prices range from $17-$23 and there were no additional sides or à la cart items that could be ordered as appetizers or small bites. My Lady ordered the chicken and waffles and I had the chicken sandwich. I didn't really read close enough to realize that the chicken sandwich was literally only a chicken sandwich and it consisted of a chicken breast, lettuce, tomato and hot sauce drizzled both on the bun and on the plate. Overall the chicken was good, moist and fried correctly but it left a lot to be desired given a $17 price point. Similarly, my lady's chicken and waffles consisted of the same chicken breast that was on the sandwich and two waffles. Waffles were decent in size so it made for a much better meal for her but still left her wanting more. Similar to the entrée prices, the drink prices were also a bit elevated starting at $16 and going up to 20+. I opted to go for simple, vodka and tonic, but my lady did order off of the drink menu and found that while her drink was pleasant, it didn't really pack a punch or a lot of alcohol. It ended up being half drunk. I think to my fellow elite member's point, I would agree that this is probably a spot for a younger demographic. However, younger or older, I do think you need a little bit more value for the money. Including tip, we dropped close to $100 on what ended up being a light lunch. We were hungry again by 6 PM and back at another restaurant later that evening so I will definitely want to get a little bit more for my money the next time around. Also, because the DJ wasn't in full effect, I didn't have to compete with an extremely loud sound system. But we did find the music and music selection enjoyable. This is probably another review that deserves an additional half star, which I need Yelp to hurry up and add as an option! read more

I would say the food was decent. Didn't really care for the chicken and waffles with all of the syrup on it. The mimosa flight was okay as well. It took about 45 min for me to receive the flight due to them not having enough glasses. The food came out before the drinks. I would suggest revisiting the recipe for the mimosas. They didn't have good flavors. The service was decent as well. No one went over and beyond and I had to complain about my delayed drinks 3 times. The ambiance was nice with the music. I feel restaurants have lost sense of how important service is no matter how good your food is the service is what will bring the customer back even on your bad days. The service was beyond great. From the organization, friendly faces and speed all was perfect! Now the food could have been better. I felt the brunch was very basic, price points were great but I just wasn't wowed. Wings had good flavor but I would've like them to be cooked longer. They were a lil chewy to me. I don't know if they take walk-ins but if you are coming for brunch on the weekend I would recommend making a recommendation as it's not a huge place. They do offer patio seating also. So we were a party of 6 and had a 1:30 reservation on a Sunday for Brunch but had to wait about 20 mins for our table to be ready. We were allotted 1.5hrs to dine. Typical brunch items on the menu, around $16-20 per item and $5 for sides. Drinks $15+. We all got chicken & waffles as we were skeptical on portion sizes and quality. The chicken was fried and seasoned well and the waffles came drizzled with icing and fruits. If you not big on sweets, I would not recommend as the waffles were really sweet because of the drizzle and the sugar crystals within the waffle. Nice crunch effect but super sweet.
