A year ago I bought a used 2016 Moto Guzzi Stelvio motorcycle at Fun Center Cycle in Farmington, NM, with 16k miles on it, and rode it 1,000 miles home. It was not an uneventful ride, as a year of sitting on the showroom floor meant that it had stale gas, and it ran badly the entire ride. I had vetted the bike by calling the sales team and by texting and emailing. I specifically asked for the fluids to be changed out and that the bike was completely checked out by the shop. I flew from Sacramento to Durango, Colorado and after an hour was finally able to catch an Uber to the shop in Farmington. Folks at the shop were pleasant, friendly and welcoming even to the point of offering me a burger cooked out back. That was great as I was starving, a little out of sorts with the altitude and my flight. I checked the bike out, and everything seemed ok. Loaded my gear in the saddle bags and poked around. Installed the charging wire for my heated vest, and installed my tank bag. The financial folks got the paperwork sorted out quickly (I thought), and I was on my way. Right away I noticed the engine had a bit of a rattle. But having owned Moto Guzzis in the past I knew by the sound that it wasn't serious and after a couple minutes the sound was gone. At my first stop, I determined that the engine and rear end oil (shaft drive) were way past scheduled oil change as they were filthy. Interestingly the transmission oil was as though it was brand new. That lead me to believe that they had changed transmission oil thinking that it was engine oil. Maybe. The shop had filled the gas tank up but I suspect there was old gas remaining which varnished the fuel injection up. Hence the rough running. 1,000 miles later, when I got the bike home I did a complete fluid change. And yep the engine oil and in particular the rear end oil was super nasty. Shame on Fun Center Cycle for not changing that. Found a filthy air filter, and on further examination determined that the airbox had a defect in the factory molding process and that unfiltered air was making its way into the airbox and throttle bodies. Shame on Moto Guzzi QC. If the mechanic had bothered to check the air filter he would have noticed it was filthy and something else was wrong due to the grime, and bird feathers in the air box. That's the second reason for running bad. I had to repair the airbox and spend much time cleaning throttle bodies. Shame on you Fun Center Cycles. The valves sounded like they hadn't been adjusted in many miles, and on using my feeler gauges found that they were way out of spec. It takes 15 minutes to adjust the valves, and needs to be done every oil change. The included owners manual clearly states this. Shame on you Fun Cycles and maybe the previous owner. While attempting to register the bike in California DMV, I found out that Fun Cycles screwed up the paper work and signed the title as though the bike had a lien. It did not as I paid the full amount with a cashiers check, This created a pain and I had to wait for new paperwork and had to make a second trip to DMV. Shame on you Fun Cycle. DMV also wanted to see the emissions stickers on the bike. Luckily the previous owner had left some under the seat. The rest of the stickers on the tank, exhaust and swing arm had all been removed. The exhaust was aftermarket and I sweated bullets that I was going to get into trouble. A year later I've put on 10,000 miles and I love the bike, but my experience with Fun Center Cycle in Farmington has continued to leave a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Durango Fun Center Blows.... I scheduled warranty work and clutch modifications a month ago for my North Star. At no point when I talked to them did anyone say I needed to get the UTV detailed before I brought it in. NOT ONCE!!! I drove 14 hours in this weekend from Texas to make sure I had it there this morning. We walked the unit to discuss the work that needed to be scheduled and the manager told me I needed to bring it to a car wash or pay a half hour service fee for cleaning because (his exact words) that he didn't want his employees wallowing in my filth. Needless to say the unit is used a 100% in the mountains so yes it is dusty, and yes my 3 Shepard's drive with me constantly and there was some dog hair on the floor board. But In reality the seats were clean and yes there was a few drops of mud on the mats because it did rain and our house is in the mountains with a dirt road. Question, being in the ATV business are you guys a bunch of sissy's that are scared of a little dirt. When I asked if I could use his hose there he stated absolutely not, the hose is for employees only. Well I did what anyone in there right mind should have done, I told him to xxxx off and loaded it back onto the trailer. If your employees can't handle a little dirt or if you can't have a guy take 30 seconds to blow the dust out with an air hose I will take to a real shop that isn't scared of a little dirt. Needless to say I own 3 Ranger and a Polaris ATV and not once have I had anyone whine about the unit being a little dirty when I brought it in for service work. The ticket for everything being done would have been up over $1,500 I am sure the shop in Farmington New Mexico will be glad to see it come in. read more

I would like to express my extreme displeasure with the Fun Center Dealership in Durango, Colorado. This is not my first negative experience with the service department. For my most recent though, I had purchased a new 2020 Polaris Ranger 570 midsize. Soon after I got it home, I began to question the performance of the unit. The transmission seemed to have trouble going into gear and liked to clunk and jerk a bit more than I thought it should. Then I began noticing it having trouble starting. I would crank it so much and a few times that I thought it was really wearing on the battery and starter. It would also sputter and backfire when it did start. Then after a few months and about 45 hours of engine time, one headlight bulb burned out. Now to the service department at Fun Center. I called up to make an appointment in January. They said it would be 4 weeks to get me in. Unfortunately, near my appointment I had to cancel. They rescheduled me for another one 4 more weeks out. My reason for bringing it in was because of the hard start. The woman on the phone was quick to explain that it may be bad gas. She also explained that I should not use my farm tank and that I should only use regular unleaded with ethanol in it. I have known for years that ethanol is a problem, especially in small engines and she is adamantly telling me to use the cheap stuff with ethanol. When I finally got the machine down for the appointment, the service writer who checked me in again told me to use regular unleaded from the station (with ethanol). He then went into long detailed explanation about how sensitive this machine is with its single cylinder and computer-controlled fuel system. He even told me that unfortunately it is a common complaint. It is relevant to know that I manage a business that has 5 other utv and atv's as well as 7 passenger vehicles and none of them have problems with our fuel. It is clear to me that the machine is overly sensitive, and you do need to keep fresh gas in it. I do not believe they should be advising to used gas with ethanol in it and another local shop agrees. So, while checking in and writing up my service request, he said I was coming in for the first service. I asked what that was, and he told me it included an oil change. I told him I had already changed the oil, with a kit purchased from them. I told him my main complaint was the hard starting. I also added that since I was bringing it in, I would like the transmission checked and I needed a light bulb (I had already removed the old one and handed it to him). I had also installed an aftermarket winch and asked them to check for a malfunction there. The motor was not working in one direction. Before I signed the request, somehow, he had put back on there the first service. I said, no, I am not paying for another oil change. The next day I received a call. He said they checked the winch and said the motor worked but the hand controller seemed to be the issue. They recommended purchasing a Polaris winch. He said they checked the transmission and it seemed fine. He explained that they tend to have some issue on inclines, which is not what I had described but ok. They changed the light bulb and said it was ready. I asked about the hard start and he said they had not diagnosed it, and I had signed the service request and it was not written on the ticket to check the hard start. Ok, so I guess I should have paid more attention to what he wrote, even though I had multiple conversations about it. He said they would drain the fuel and try starting in in the morning. He called to say it was ready the next day. I went down to pick it up expecting to pay for an hour tops to diagnose the winch, and maybe another half hour for the fuel. Apparently, they won't even look at newly purchased machine without charging you. My bill was: .5 hours to tell me the transmission was fine. 1 hour to recommend I buy a Polaris winch. 1 hour to siphon fuel and replace and check the start in the morning. .5 hours to change my headlight bulb plus $24 for the bulb. $355.17 total (3 hours plus bulb) This is absurd. I cannot wait to get rid of this machine and buy something from the other dealer in town, Handlebar Motorsports including replacing my machines at work. The main reason I purchased a new machine was to have the dealer I bought it from here locally to service it when I NEEDED it. How wrong I was there. I am also disappointed with the quality of Polaris. Honestly, I don't know how a business can operate like this and still manage to stay busy enough to have a 4 week wait time. Fun City Durango has a seriously deficient service department. I have made four service appointments since July 2020. For every single appointment my next available time slot was over a month away. I purchased a new RAZR in July 2020. For the seven months that I have owned this toy, it has been dead in the water unusable for two months while waiting for service. 28% of the time it was forcibly locked away When I pointed this out to Fun City Managenment their statement was 1) "I hear this type complaint almost daily" and 2) We treat all our service customers equally My latest service need was for a factory covered warranty issue. After paying a large amount for the extended warranty, I still get the delaying run around WARNING. - if you must buy your Polaris from this dealer, expect really bad service I prefer to support the local economy, but there are other Polaris dealers out there read more

Bought a 2019 Can-Am Outlander 570 brand new from the Durango, Colorado Fun Center. While they attempted to load the unit in my 3500 Ram long bed the guy gases it and takes out my tailgate cover right before telling me it wont fit in the bed due to a toolbox. I ask if I can borrow/rent a trailer, he says we have them for sale only, I said fine and bought a trailer. Got the unit home, drove it to a neighbors house then parked it inside a garage for 2 years on a battery tender while working out of the country. Came back, drove the unit a couple miles then parked it again for another year or so. Unit is now sitting at 4 years old (Out of warranty) obviously with less than 5 miles on it total and I have nothing but issues. Called the "Fun Center" to get simple part numbers so I could fix the issues myself and was transferred to the service manager (Shane Miller) who was more than willing to service the unit $$$ but absolutely REFUSED to give me the part numbers for the items related to the issues. ("Quote" why would I spend my time to get you part numbers when I wont make anything off it !!! End quote.) Also, bought a snow plow for the unit and after 2 weeks in freezing weather trying to install it, myself and the manufacture came to the conclusion the box had been robbed of parts most likely the "Fun Center" took the parts to fix other unit then unknowingly sold me the parted out box for my plow. I own several businesses myself so can legitimately say they are only loyal up to the end of the sale. Everything after that will cost you and if you don't wanna pay them then you can find your own part numbers according to Shane. NOTE: not everyone that works there has this approach but we are who we employ. Pete Taber and Joe Washburn own 3 of these dealerships. Unprofessional, unwelcoming and unhelpful. Had a warranty failure in a brand new bike (tried to buy it from them in the first place to keep business local, but their price was so much higher than everywhere else, I don't think they wanted the business). Brought the bike after with speaking with KTM, major mechanical issue that resulted in a crash. After asking if I bought the bike from them, they laughed in my face and told me "it will be a while till they maybe get to it" - they just couldn't be bothered to represent the brand in the region. After I returned to pick up the bike and take it to a much more professional dealer quite a distance away, they couldn't be bothered to point me to where they stowed it, making me run around the shop with everyone telling me how 'they haven't seen a bike like that.' I would rather drive out of state than ever spend a single dime at this shop, and hope you will think twice too because they don't seem to care much about service once the bike is out their doors either. read more

I'm a disabled Vietnam vet and was visiting masa verde nat park and my boulevard c90 quit charging. I called a few shops and they were all busy because there was a rally coming up the next week. I needed to be in Wyoming in a few days so when I called they said to bring it in and they would get right on it. Not only did they get my bike fixed in two days Lyle the owner gave me a ride to the airport to get a rental car and then picked me up when my bike was ready.
