First of all things to understand is that this is a children's play place where adults must be prepared to hear screams of delight! My peeps were overjoyed and loved weaving in and out of the playhouse, up and down the many slides, and rides. So much for them to do. So many parents were chilling out reading while the staff of Fun illegally were kept on the toes monitoring the children and assisting with the flow. Great security and excellent staff supervision of all the areas. The food is pretty good for party place offerings. Pizza, nachos, fries, drinks, and desserts. The children throughly enjoyed themselves and were sad to leave. Even though Funville does not have a time limit for your visit, I set one for my own benefit - heehee! read more

This place is absolutely FILTHY!!!! So disgusting and looks like the playground has never been cleaned. The floors are dirty and so is all of the play area. Had my daughter's 4 birthday party here in the SpongeBob/Elmo room and she had a blast...not just her either my older two teens as well as her cousins enjoyed themselves also. The wings were very good and tasty (sweet chili pepper) and that had to be the most extreme carbonated sprite I've had in a very long time (all good things) This place sees its fair share of little people and family's. I was glad I chose this location in Chesapeake Square. Our attendant was so helpful and sweet natured. Funville took the stress out of having a party. As a parent we all know the clean up is the tedious part and having it in a neutral location definitely gave me a feeling of ease and left me very satisfied with my decision. I even whooped up on my husband at the Foosball table...(he loss...LooseR lol) needless to say adults can pop in here also if not for a bite to eat, or a quick spot to let your children burn off excessive energy. This place is filthy but our kids LOVE it. Adults are only allowed on the ground floor of the multi-story play area. Kids have an adult-free zone in the upper levels which is a lot of fun for them. Unfortunately, my children were physically harassed by an older boy and I'll spare you the sordid details. But, parents should be aware that while this place claims to have CCTV cameras, they don't cover every area and didn't help in this instance at all. The management staff did nothing except admit that boy was problematic. There do not appear to be any measures in place to prohibit children who cannot behave around other kids, which is unfortunate. Now we don't feel comfortable taking our kids there because the facility itself doesn't do all it can to address unacceptable behavior and provide a safe space for children to play. read more

Funville does not have adequate staff to properly supervise the play space which creates an unsafe environment for kids. My son broke his finger there and was also attacked by another kid. When we reported It to management they didn't care or call us back. When we asked for a refund of our yearly membership because of our concerns on the unsafe environment, they cancelled it but didn't credit us back the remaining months and refuse to call us back. read more

I brought my 3 granddaughters here on a Wednesday afternoon and I was so impressed ! The employees were smiling and seemed to enjoy their jobs! Two went above and beyond with making this experience a wonderful one! The young man working the slide is awesome with his big friendly smile! Quishanna up front was great. Ahkeela was in playing with the kids making sure everyone was safe. Summer delivered our pizza with a beautiful big smile and was super friendly! I am so impressed with THIS Funville and will definitely be back! Definitely "Mamaw" friendly and approved! Cleanliness is so very important to me as a nurse and I was very impressed by the availability of sanitizer and the overall cleanliness of the entire place! This place wasn't bad at all. I will say that kids 11 and older likely won't play here and if they do, it'll be brief. My 12 year old was engaged for about 20-30mins before she was bored with it. My 2 year old however was running around everywhere! He enjoyed stacking the blocks, diving on the padded floor and navigating huge play structure. Honestly don't know how this place is still in business. It's completely disgusting in there. All the mats have not been cleaned and the towers are all dusty. Kids can seriously get sick from this. I would definitely look somewhere else to take your kids. This place is screaming hand foot and mouth in every corner. Another downside is you aren't allowed to follow your kids in the towers, which is difficult if your kids are younger and can't figure out where they are inside the playground. read more

We have had a few birthday parties at FunVille and have been very pleased. We used the party room and the staff was very accommodating. It is so much easier than a jump house rental at home! More entertaining for the kids as well. We also have gone "just for a fun play time" and liked that as well. There are tables and we claimed one for the time we were there. The children knew where we were sitting and came back to check in, plus the size of FunVille makes it easier to keep an eye on the kids. That's a BIG STRESS RELIEVER for me! We ordered food and the kids came back to eat and then played some more. Over all, I highly recommend this venue! read more

My wife and I were in town visiting our son, his wife and our 12 month old grandson. We decided to venture off to Funville in Chesapeake because they had a toddler playground. This turned out be one of the worst experiences of our lives. We were verbally attacked by a mom who accused us of talking to her kids and asking them to leave the toddler playground. None of us ever talked with her kids and didn't even know who they were actually. There were a number of kids who were way too old and tall playing in that area and we asked the employee on site to remove them as we were concerned about our little grandson who only crawls. When my wife told the woman we never spoke to her children she went on a verbal assault of us dropping more f-bombs than I have heard before. She said her kids could go anywhere and do anything they want and if we were concerned about our grandson's safety we should not come to Funville. We left the venue so we could get away to safety. The mother's attack should have been focused on the employees who twice asked them to leave the area. When I asked the staff for a refund because of the assault they said they don't give refunds. When I reminded them that our grandson found a staple in the area and put it in his mouth they decided to give us a refund. After emailing the facility twice to get some clarity on what happened to the attacker, we were not responded to. So, if you are looking for a place that will protect your children, don't go to Funville. If you are looking for a place where you will be defended from verbal assaults from parents who falsely accuse you, don't go to Funville. Funville cannot control who walks in their doors but they can certainly control and evict the trouble makers from the facility if they choose, but don't expect Funville to help you out with that. read more

The new & improved FunVille is awesome! My toddler loved the toddler zone! The toddler zone and entire place in general was very clean. If you forget to bring your socks, a pair will be provided to you. Bumper cars was a plus, $5 for five minutes! No need to bring in outside food, a full menu is provided to you in addition to a vending machine. Staff was very friendly, we will definitely be back ! This is a kids action kinda place !!!!! Yes, however they arrive, will be completely different from when they leave for they will be worn out. With a lot of different obstacles courses, which consist of climbing, crawling, sliding, hanging, punching, kicking, building, throwing, catching, and driving bumper cars. They will be very entertained. As you enter the course on your right is a small section for little kids, but they will not want to stay there once they see all the action outside their section, so be ready to explore !!!! You can go into the course with them or you can wait for them by the entrance which is also the only exit. Either way you will be able to keep an eye on your kids. Also there is an Adult obstacle course for those of you willing to take on a challenge !!!! With three party rooms available for renting and depending on the packet you have the option of having live super heroes, Disney characters, and other animated characters. And if not there is plenty of tables in the center for you to choose from. It's a no for me. 7 people working only 2 of them interacting with kids. The parents have to stay on the ground floor which makes it hard to look after your children of toddler sizes. No where to secure food once you order and it's not to be taken on the mat...so bring a food watcher. None of the employees are on the same accord since I was told the ball mat closes at 530 even though the facility doesn't close until 7. The manager on duty at the time only sees who she wants to see when rules are being broken. Save your money unless you're having a party where multiple adults can monitor children. The mats need a really good scrubbing for all the times we were actually able to get in. Staff is overwhelmed. People just walk right in even if there's a line and they are at capacity. This was my first visit outside the mall location and I love it. There is so much room. Twice the room for more playground, kids, parties; people in general. I kind of like the layout of one wall having all the activities because its easier to watch your kids. You can walk around the whole thing which is nice if your looking for your kid who ran off because it was time to go. My kids liked all the different slides the most. This playground has a lot of variety for all ages to find something to do. We didnt take advantage of the rope course cars as they were an additional fee but next time I would like to add that to our day. 3 party rooms, special young child area, lockers too. A menu available to include pizza to drinks and desserts. This is a great place with a lot of fun for kids! read more

The facts: Booked a birthday party for 3/25/23 for 10 children, cost $350, paid additional $50 for more pizzas = $400 spent. With not even a cupcake included! Our hostess, Taylor was wonderful! She explained our pizzas would start coming out at 12:15, I requested that to be a little later at 12:30 as the children would still be playing and we didn't want cold pizza. While watching the children play the Manager Rebecca came over and wanted to argue about the timing of the pizzas and would be delivered as stated previously. I stated that I didn't want COLD pizza not to mention we are paying a boatload of money for extra pizzas. She stood fast and would not compromise and just for spite she had our **first pizza delivered at 12:00 instead of the stated 12:15! Cooking/timing pizzas is not rocket science. You would think they would try to do everything they could to make their customers happy but this was not the case. If you want to spend a lot of money and be pretty much disrespected this is the place for you. Needless to say when the children and adults got to the party room at 12:30 the 4 cold pizzas were waiting! To the owners of this establishment, retrain your managerial staff or maybe just replace them!, no customer should be treated like this over a simple request!! I asked if we could get 1 cup of iced water and was told verbatim "we don't do that". In disbelief I explained that we had just spent a lot of money for his birthday party and all I wanted was one single cup of water. Three people blew me off saying the exact same thing. This place is usually clean when we visit. I can absolutely say the many times we've visited I've never once experienced an unsanitary piece of equipment or the restroom left untidy. Kudos! ! This last visit, this past Thursday, about 7pm, there were no other children present. My daughter and her friend (9yr old girl) were the only children playing. Granted the playground closes at 8pm, but this place is usually packed or least halfway full, but this day, nope! The staff is always pleasant and friendly and there's usually an attendant or two monitoring the playground. Until I see different, I will always support this business. I'm all for fun and for $9 unlimited playground play, oh yeah, we love it! ! Don't forget to bring your socks! This place also has a toddler area, bumper cars, and a simulated ride. To enjoy any of them, I believe they all cost extra. There are plenty of tables and chairs for seating and they're super cute too! Also there are seats that put you up close and personal if you want to keep an eagle eye on your child. (Bar seating) Your kids are sure to enjoy this place rain or shine. I'm a nanny and bring the kids here pretty frequently, I've held off on writing a review until I got the complete experience and I think its safe to safe after almost 3 month I'm ready to review. There's 100% not enough staff, I usually see around 4 total people on a good day, not including the one worker at the arcade. The play structure is pretty nice and seems very safe. The boy I watch has Autism so I'm allowed to be with him when we go inside. Never had an issue. I don't believe the entire structure gets cleaned daily but I can see it cleaned once a week at least. The area that's dedicated for the adults is set right in front of the jungle gym so you have somewhat of an eye on your children. That being said, there's a lot of blind spots which could definitely be an issue when more kids come through during the summer. I think the should hire more staff when it gets busier to keep a better eye on all the children. The bathrooms have always been clean, as well as the arcade and all of the floors. A huge issue I have is the food, its not super expensive but you're still not getting the quality of food I think is deserved. They also don't have a lot of options in regards of the food. This is okay if you haven't been to the funville in viriginia beach. It doesn't look as friendly and it looks like they stopped finishing the walls. I have never been to this one before today. But now that I know where it is, I'd rather go to the other location. I drove around and around looking for this. It's not posted anywhere outside. Your paying $11 for what looks half the size of the play area but for the $15 packages at vb you could also get a go cart ride and stay as long as you want. I guess it just depends on how far you want to drive. But I would definitely be returning back to the vb location. read more

I was babysitting my friend's son tonight, and we went to Funville. The way I was treated by the person at the register was completely unacceptable. I'm really working on my ability to respond and not react. Literally, Jesus was sitting on my tongue because if I would've said the things that I was thinking to that woman, her soul would be crushed. My friend's son is on the smaller side and the lady that helped us made sure that he knew it in every single way. She complained about the size of his wrist being too small and it was so hard for her to put on the wristband. And how "Wow, you're so little" and on and on and on and I don't like bullies. And I legit feel that she was bullying my 5 year old friend. And in that moment, I could see myself saying really horrible things back. However, I kept my composure and decided I would make a review instead. Hopefully so that never happens to anyone else's child. I think it's really sad when an adult has the lack of empathy and completely tone deaf to social norms that you don't take it upon yourself to ridicule the size of a child or anyone for that matter. Just like you don't ask a woman if she's pregnant - you also don't make a child feel small. It's horrible behavior for an adult. I couldn't think of a calm way to address it in the moment. I hope that my point is taken and will be addressed with the staff. When I have the option to spend my money in an establishment or not you shouldn't make people feel small that have no recourse about the matter. I wish I'd had the option to turn around on my heels and walk out, but my 5 year old friend would not have understood my reasons why. I have zero tolerance for disrespect and I wish I could've said something to reassure my friend that he is perfect in every way!!! They have a bunch of teenagers working the kitchen it seems and they can't seem to handle having parties and walk-ins at the same time. We stopped in to check out FunVille this past weekend - it was too damn cold to stand around in a park with the kiddo, so we found this place through Yelp. First thing that would have been helpful to know -- it's in the mall. We were looking for a stand-alone building since we weren't familiar with the area. Had I known it was in the mall, I would have planned ahead and brought all my coupons and stuff to get shopping done while daddy stayed with the kiddo here! The play area is pretty nice - they have an area in the back that caters to kid's birthday parties, a toddler area for smaller children, a bumper car ride, and a large playground for kids. The terminology of an "adult playground" was a bit misleading -- we were hoping we'd get to jump around and get a little exercise too, but all parents can really do here is sit around and watch their kids. Or the TVs, or their smart phones as the case was with most of the folks we met. Overall, this would be a great spot if I'd planned ahead of time to multi-task and/or brought a book - kiddo had such a great time in the play area we'll probably come back if we're in the area on a cold day. read more
