Funway is usually a fun place. The skate guard today was just too much. He kept telling my daughter what to do and blowing the whistle. He was telling her to get on the wall because she was not going fast enough. Then told her not to wait on the side of the wall and wait for her friend. We are talking 4 times within the course of 45 minutes. If the kids aren't skating dangerously or cutting people off just let them have fun. Lighten up with the whistle dude! It's never been like this before here and listening to the whistle blow at someone every two minutes is rather annoying!! read more

Great place to take kids & youth from about age 7 and up. Prices reasonable for what you get, and you can pick and choose which activities you want to do. That means you can decide how much you want to end up spending.Good place for parties. The only drawback to this place is, it's a long drive. Plan on spending the day. Since there is so much you can do, that's easy. They have: video games, bumper cars and boats, go carts, batting cages, soccer and basketball type practice games, mini-golf, air hockey and Foosball, pool, roller (inline) skating and bowling. Usually it's not crowded, so it's not like you have to wait for things. It's amusement, but its an active place where your kids (and you) can get some exercise as well. read more

This is the second time I had thrown a skate party for my daughter. First time went well, second time- party itself went well. She originally invited 30 kids from class, I was told booking the party I would only be charged for who showed up but ultimately responsible for ten. Needless to say: 16 girls showed (and that's including one that literately walked in n out n went home sick). At the end of the night, I was charged for 20 kids. That's $59 over-charge. I called on a normal Monday business day to speak to an adult (manager or supervisor) to address the situation. She did call me promptly back and basically told me there was nothing she could do about it because a) that's what the counter girl had wrote down (actually she had 21 wrote down. LIE B) I didn't address the situation then (keep in mind it was a Friday night and by the time this party was over it was 11pm, oh yeah n I'm 8 months pregnant. And as stated before- 60$ is $60, but at the end of the day I wanted to speak to an adult or someone in management- not some kid at the desk regardless of how many yrs she's worked there- as put in my face several times. C) I didn't have any complaints on the comment card I filled out after party, and if I had a problem with what I was being charged, I again I should have addressed it then. ( BUT- I was handed this comment card BEFORE I paid- which was not brought up because again she didn't give the opportunity. I obviously was prepared to pay for 30 kids, we invited 30. Sooo, the lack of communication in this place blows. To be called a liar is a slap in my face and never ever again will I throw a party there. Originally I had called to just address the situation because there was also a few things I didn't even get to mention because this "GM" had to argue with me the whole conversation. Included in this teen skate package- each girl was supposed to receive a glow stick (I had to remind them at the counter of that 3 hrs into our party. The bday girl was supposed to receive a tshirt, which we never received but who cares... There was supposed to be a special bday announcement that never happened, but again who cares. Date night at the bowling alley last night and we had a blast. The place was pretty packed with a league but they always save a few lanes for open bowling. Rocked pitchers for less than $10 and rolled to our hearts content. I mean what is not to like about Funway? Go karts, bumper boats, batting cages, indoor and outdoor mini golf, laser tag, roller skating, huge arcade and bumper cars. You kind of have to suck at life to not enjoy yourself here, just saying. read more

We have had nothing but good experiences at Funway since we started taking my stepdaughter there in 2013. At that time, she earned a voucher for a free round of mini golf from the Geneva Public Library summer reading program, and so we went there to redeem her "win." We were practically the only people there, and had a great time playing glow-in-the-dark mini golf (on a slightly outdated, but very psychedelic indoor course). After golf, we played some of the arcade games, and she was thrilled to redeem her tickets for some small prizes. The summer of 2014, our neighborhood experienced a roller blading boom, and it seemed every child under the age of 10 was skating. We started taking my stepdaughter to Funway's open skate so she could learn how to skate. Open skate, by the way, is offered Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. Funway offers little "walkers" for kids who are a little unsteady on their feet, and that really helped our little one feel more comfortable. They also played popular music and games like Red Light, Green Light or Four Corners, which were fun as well. It became clear though, that my stepdaughter was not going to learn how to skate on her own, and she was certainly not taking my advice or my husband's! So we signed up for a few private lessons, which Funway offers for $20 per half-hour. (Funway also offers group lessons, which cost $30 for four half-hour lessons, obviously a better deal but unfortunately, the times did not fit into our schedule). A wonderful young man helped her figure out her footing and worked with her on balance. She learned a great deal in just two lessons, and we were thrilled with the instruction she received. I do want to mention that we did not realize it was Christian family night, during which Funway plays Christian pop songs. While I think that is absolutely wonderful for people who are looking for a wholesome night of family entertainment, we are a Jewish family, so the songs were not exactly up our alley. It was no problem at all - we still had fun - but I would not go on a Thursday night again. read more

This is a great place to bring kids for an hour or a whole day of fun. There are a ton of things to do - bowling, an arcade, cosmic mini golf, roller skating, laser tag, and in the warmer months, go-karting and bumper boats. We came here to celebrate an adult birthday and spent our time bowling, skating, and at the arcade. We arrived about noon on a Sunday and were able to get a lane right away. I don't think the lanes were ever completely full, but that could have just been a coincidence. We rented a lane for the hour. With the hour of play and six pairs of shoes rented, the total came to $32. There are some coupons posted online, which gave us a free pitcher of pop with the lane rental. Four adults and two kids were able to finish a game a piece in the hour, just barely. From there, the group went to the indoor roller skating rink. They had music, a DJ, and even stopped for games like the Hokey Pokey. No one really goes that fast on the rink, but even so, the little kids are helped to the middle of the rink, where they can go slow and use these small walker-type devices to help with their balance. They allow you to use your own rollerskates/blades, but they check them first for the wheels. I guess certain kids of skates can ruin their floor. Finally, we headed up to the arcade to finish off the afternoon. They have a ton of games for little kids, and some classics like DDR and Mario Kart. We did find a 4 person air hockey table that we had fun playing for a while. If we had a little more time, I would have liked to try the cosmic mini golf. It was $3.50/person, but I saw an online coupon for 2 for the price of 1, so that would have been an inexpensive additional activity. Do check online before you head here - they have coupons that seem to change fairly often. We won about 25 tickets at the arcade and we traded them in for a small plastic dinosaur figurine to remember the day. In total, we were there for about 3.5 hours, and we could have stayed longer had we not had other plans. Overall, a good place to go for a day of family fun. read more

I'll be honest, I would give it a 4 star rating but that declares I am a fan. This place is just what the 3 star says "A-OK". Wasn't a bad experience. But for me wasn't an over-the-top experience. We bowled for a couple hours, enjoyed a few beers and watched some playoff baseball while bowling and it was a good time. I just couldn't see saying "You know what I wanna do tonight? Go to Funway!". Nothing opened before 11am other than the bowling. The website wasn't clear about this, so we arrived at 10am thinking we would get to mini golf inside....that wasn't the case. So, we had to bowl first, then golf. Bowling balls were reallllllly greasy. I did like the lanes, however. Bumpers went up for the kids, and came down for the adults. Computer screens were pretty hightech for what I've seen at other places. Staff members were okay...not totally friendly, but not rude either. Decent prices. Still a great place to visit. I used to come here when I was in high school and the owners have managed to keep it clean and still operating. I went last Friday around 5pm with family for bowling and was really happy about their bowling package. Six people can bowl (shoes included) for 1 hour at a cost of $35 which beats most locations and you can also upgrade your package as well. We had wings, pizza and the sampler which was good and the staff was friendly. I will visit again. I gave four stars only because the package deal is by the hour and I was in my fifth round when our time ran out, but mngt didn't allow us to finish our 2nd game. Funway is a great place for a kid's birthday party. There is so much to do there, but the place is so cheesy (tawdry). First, all the mini golf courses have no challenge whatsoever. The laser tag is pretty fun, but they should make the interior of the stadium more challenging (adding an upstairs). Also, the inside of Funway is so dark and gloomy until you get outside of course. All of the arcade games and prizes are a rip off. I would recommend you to go to Dave and Buster's to get a better experience for games. While, I do give this place 3 stars because it is very convenient to have an arcade, laser tag, an indoor/outdoor mini golf course, bumper boats and cars, a rollerskating rink, a bowling alley, and much more all in one place. Grew up going here and loved it. Two decades later I thought how much fun would a throwback bday party be and immediately picked Funway. Planned for about 10 of us to go skating and then bowling. Spoke to Janet first who told me one thing and then Jackie next... was confused for the second conversation hearing something different and Jackie was not pleasant - long story short. I ended up not reserving anything or putting down a deposit and honestly we all still just went and everything worked out. Didn't need their planning and was also cheaper this way. My nephew had his 7th birthday party here, so I am looking at it from that aspect. There were a lot of fun activities here that were advertised (mini golf, laser tag, roller skating, arcades, etc) but this is for the bowling and the party room aspect. The bowling was for one hour, and it was a timed game across 4 lanes for 20 something kids. It got a little crazy, but the kids are seven, so it's to be expected! The party room was a little insane and loud, but that added to the excitement of the kids. The workers there were mainly teenagers, and they tried to control the kids as much as they could, but there's only so much they could do. It wasn't even my birthday party, but I found myself using "gym voice" with the kids because they weren't listening to the workers. They were grateful for the help, though, and said thanks. They were sweet. When my nephew was opening presents, they had a dog in a costume (Funway's mascot?) sitting by him and high fiving the kids. It was cute! They also have one of those "money machines". The pizza for the kids was "meh", but it was frozen pizza, can't expect too much. My husband bought me a soft pretzel and fries from the concession stand. They were typical concession stand food. Nothing to brag home about, but they got the job done! It seemed like a fun place for a party and my nephew and kids really enjoyed themselves, so that's the most important part. read more

I went here with a school group and had a blast! When we came we received our cards (we couldn't do any outdoor activities as it was pouring) and went to the party room to eat. The pizza was actually really good and every child got 2 triangle slices, which I think is a fair amount. For drinks there was only sprite and coke, and so for people like me who isn't much of a sofa person I took sprite (suggestion: have water as an option!) We started off with laser tag which is always fun, and then played some of their various arcade games. My friend and I then ate some mozzarella sticks from the little food area near the bowling alley. They were good, but the sauce was in a commercial cup, so it wasn't as presentable as I would have liked. I also asked for an ice water, and most places will give it to you for free with no problem, but here they charges $.25 which I find rather stupid for a cup of tap water and ice. read more

This is my 4th time visiting this establishment and each time I have brought a bunch of kids and spent well over $400. Well I visited this past Sunday and was treated very poorly by staff. We stood in line for the bumper boats awaiting our turns just to have the employee operating the attraction to pull the people who was waiting at the end of the line in front of us. I didn't say anything because it was only 3 people and my group of 8 all wanted to ride together. We waited another 3 minutes or so for our turn just for it to happen again. I attempted to hand over our card for him to swipe but he ignored me and pulled a group of 8 people who again were waiting behind me and my group. I proceeded to tell the manager that I didn't care for the treatment that we received and explained the situation, only for the manager to say, "yes, I understand and that is totally wrong." No compensation or anything was offered. Let's just say, they have lost out on thousands of dollars because I was going to plan a birthday party next month. Nope! Not happening anymore! read more

We've been here 3 times already and all 3 times have been overall good experiences. Two times were for birthday parties and our last time was on a Groupon deal. We've done bowling, skating, arcade, laser tag and video games. There is just so much to do that your family won't be bored. It's very kid friendly. The bowling alley staff that took care of the Groupon order was extremely helpful. The kids absolutely love the laser tag(I do recommend going in a large sized group if possible. And the skating rink staff went out of their way to make sure our younger kids were well taken care. I definitely recommend them for a fun night out with the kids. I was just there tonight and let me tell you....I have NEVER seen so many happy, smiling employees. I took my 3 kids there to go go karting. Connor, who was working the karts, was absolutely incredible. Kind, funny and great with my kids! We joked with him and laughed and he was truly awesome! I'm not one to write many reviews but, because of Connor, I just had to let everyone know. For a teen, he could've had a boring work attitude but he was far from that. My kids...14, 11 and 10...talked about him the whole way home! He made our evening! Connor, you seriously ROCK!!! As we were leaving....after 4 hours....we went to get our prizes and I have to give a shout out to Cesar at the prize counter. He was kind and smiled and helped us with the same smile. Kudos Cesar and thank you! These kids probably don't get the recognition they deserve so, running a business based on service and exceptional customer service, I had to share. Normally this is a good place to go bowling and for people to bring their kids for arcade games and roller skating, but my last experience here was horrendous. My group of three went to go bowling around 5 pm on a wednesday night and all but 2 of the lanes had been reserved for league play. This is something that happens time to time and was in no way Funway's fault. The manager named Frank, whose name will never escape me, was offensively impolite. He spoke with me very rudely and only was concerned with the group that was their for league play. Not only would he not allow my group to reserve a lane which he said would be open 45 minutes later, he pointed us upstairs to the arcade and told us that was open. After wasting a little time playing their glow in the dark mini golf and 4 people air hockey, my group went back Frank to finally pay for our lanes. When It was our turn I began telling him that we would like to rent the lane and he shushed me and talked to one of the league members behind us, giving them anything they wanted. One of his coworkers even started giggling and said "Did you really just do that?" At that point out of frustration we left Funway. Normally this is a great place to go have fun, but after this incident I will no longer be going back. Stay away from Frank. read more

I love this place! We take the kids here for bowling, mini-golf, arcade, and rollerskating. I had an adult rollerskating party and it was the best party I've had. I worked with Janet & she was wonderful help organizing my party. The music was appropriate top 40's for rollerskating. This place was overpriced, for one thing. The concession place was a total nightmare. Food was overpriced, and not that great. It took them 20 minutes to deliver 2 hotdogs and 30 minutes to deliver a BLT. There were NO people in line at the time.The concessions were being run by high school age kids. There were no apologies for the order taking so long to deliver. Yet, we saw the people at the concession stand standing around, making their own food to eat, and one girl was reading a book. The Ladies Room had no toilet paper in any of the stalls. My daughter had fun, but most games or activities cost $350, so it takes no time to go through $25. read more

Cons: Rude employees, lack of supervision in needed areas, design flaws with indoor glow golf, and a sense of apathy among the roller skating guards For whatever reason, Funway has a Groupon up for $19 (2 skate admission, 2 skate rentals, and 2 rounds of mini golf), but they will get very testy with you if you try to use it. I had this exact experience. I went to the bowling counter to try and redeem my Groupon and one of the women working there, no one was wearing a name tag but she was overweight and blonde, told me they did not accept Groupon anymore. I tried to explain to her that I purchased the Groupon a few hours before arriving at Funway, and it did not make any sense why it was still listed if they did not accept them anymore. Her attitude toward the entire situation was very rude and aggressive, and it certainly escalated the situation. I do not think I will be returning to Funway because of this rude associate, but overall, there are a lot of things to do at Funway, and they are as expected, fun. The rollerskating was fun, but the guards did not patrol the rink very well. Children and adults often decided to skate in the opposite direction, and this was a huge safety hazard. I think the one guard/DJ was a bit too focused on the mediocre games they play and the even more mediocre "top hits" pop music that was played. Another one of my issues with this place was the indoor glow golf. It's an absolute cluster fuck. There are no employees monitoring this activity, there are only 9 holes, the area was incredibly tight, and it felt more like we were being pushed down an assembly line than actually enjoying ourselves playing mini golf. In my opinion, for the same cost, you should just go outside and play their outdoor course, and you will not suffer the same frustration. The entire facility is nice, and there are an abundance of activities to do at Funway, but they need some work in a few areas to truly embody the idea of a pure "fun" experience. read more

Ultimate? Pretty much..for Batavia. Funway's bowling alley is not too big, but has a decent bar. I think I've only bowled there once. Never skated, but definitely kicked ass on the glow in the dark miniature golf course. This place is not swanky, not really too special but has a lot of stuff to do for kids, and even older peeps such as myself. I often go here in the summer and hit up the batting cages. The staff's pretty nice and they offer outdoor mini golf as well as stuff like go karts etc. read more

Its time for the perculator its time for the perculator... Holy 80's flash back, Went here for the BF and sister for a night of good oldfashiond roller skating. Couldn't be happier with my experiance. First off Sunday is Adult night. The rink was happening and pleasently not overrun by some spoiled bratty kids birthday party. The staff at Fun way does it right. A nice mix of old and new music and they kept the great reto lights on the cieling, and they even added some modern lighting. Also everything here was really clean. The floor is in perfect shape so no reason to fear for your life when taking those fast corners. Didn't get a chance to try the boweling ally but it also looked great. Looking forward to going back to fun way soon!! read more

Between the batting cages, mini golf, soccer cages, go carts, bumper boats, bumper cars, coin dozers, roller skating rink, and lazer tag lies the most beautiful bowling alley ever. It is a far cry from the smokey dingy alleys of my youth. It's fun to customize the screen with your scores, the bar is conveniently located, and the claw games beckon for your attention. I love this place. We went on a wednesday night and closed the place down (11pm on weeknights, midnight on the weekends) None of the staff seemed irritated that we were lingering. In fact they felt like they would join on in at any moment! love love love me some funway. wish i had infinite income so I could go everyday. I went here when I was in 5th grade on an end of the year field trip. That was like 8 years ago, but I remember it being so much fun. now Dave and I went to this place since we were just you know in the neighborhood. It is really meant for kids, but I still secretly had fun. When we got there we went into the arcade and felt really out of place but we remembered the go karts-- so thats where we went. It was a Saturday around 1 p.m. and it wasn't crowded as I thought it would be, and we were able to go go karting with only two other little kids! The gokarts were fun we went around the whole thing like 80 billion times. On our way back to the arcade, this man was not wearing a helmet in the batting cage which I thought was hilarious since right infront of him had a sign that clearly said HELMETS must be worn at all times! The employees seemed very bored there, and wasn't really enthusiastic. There's a lot to do here: arcade, roller rink, mini golf, batting cage, go-karts and more.
