Furusato Sushi is a small restaurant with six four-top tables and eight-counter seats. The menu is extensive. We had the Spicy Garlic Edamame, Flying Dragon Shrimp, and the Shrimp rolls; both were excellent. The service was great and the rolls came out quickly. Depending on what time you go, the line to get in could almost wrap around the corner. We ate at 3:00 PM and every seat was full. Our rolls were great. My only disappointment was that they did not have soy paper. If you are staying at the Hyatt it is very convenient. Cannot wait to go back. read more

Small and quaint Japanese restaurant with some of the freshest sushi. The Oahu coupon book has a 10% off so we thought we tried this place out. About 30mins wait and they will call you so you can shop nearby and come back when your table is ready. The udon and broth are Soo good. Then we ordered a sushi boat special. It could work for a quick bite before heading out for a night of shenanigans on the strip, but not if you're a serious sushi addict. We ordered a Deluxe Green Salad ($10.20), a Waikiki Bridge ($65.00), a Mini Udon Soup ($6.25) and a Miso Soup ($4.00). With gratuity, it was $100+ for two people and that was without Sake. Sort of pricey for the quality and flavor (or lack thereof?) so I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to try. I will share that it was easy to snag a table this time around because most people were still doing takeout. If you're hungry, in the mood for sushi, and don't want to wait in line -- this is your spot. But if you're a sushi snob and know you're sashimi then I would look elsewhere. read more

Furusato is so underrated on Yelp. This place is incredible. The staff are very welcoming and the chefs are fanatic as well! I almost never write reviews but is my third time eating here and every experience has been great. The fish is always super fresh and presented beautifully! I come to the island quite a bit and always make sure to eat dinner here once per trip. Pro tip: they don't take reservations but if you come about an hour before your desired dinner time, you can put you name on the list and they will call you when your table is ready (busy times usually take around an hour) Try the Natto if you're feeling adventurous, it's not for everyone but I personally love it read more

What can I say... the sushi was great! Very fresh and very affordable. We decided to sit at the sushi bar instead of the many tables they have. We had tuna, yellowtail, scallops, Octopus, And flying fish eggs, and a spicy scallop hand roll. I forgot to take pictures of everything. Sorr.And some beer and sake. Going back again later this week! One thing to be aware of, they do not have a electric oven to crisp or warm items. Wow!!!! This is some of the most amazing sushi and Japanese food I have had outside of Tokyo! I went here for lunch after waking around Waikiki that morning working up an appetite. It's a very small restaurant, with counter spots and some tables. They do not take reservations so you may have to wait but it is worth it. I ordered the Udon Set, Ume Shu, and Unagi sashimi. Everything was so delicious. I am hoping to go back here one more time before I leave Hawai'i. read more

My husband and I had dinner here and it was amazing! All the fish was fresh and the rice was cooked perfectly. The wasabi was so good and added the perfect punch of heat. Without Yelp, I never would have found this place. I was chillin at Waikiki Beach and was looking for a decent sushi spot and this place came up. Talk about small, I almost walked right past it. This place was very close to our hotel and was able to accommodate a party of 5 with very little wait time even though it is quite small of a space. Our Yokocho is now permanently closed due to covid so we didn't know where to go that was close to our hotel the Moana Surfrider. So glad we found Furusato. We didn't have reservations but put our name on the waitlist. We waited an hour and got our table. Small restaurant with only 4 tables. Menu is not extensive but the quality is good and prices are reasonable. The service was excellent. Our Japanese host was so pleasant and asked us if we needed any more refills on our drinks. We got to Furusato around 7 and was told the wait would be an hour. About 15 mins later, I got a call saying they were ready to seat us. (Guess everyone else waiting found other places to visit). We got the Diamondhead roll (spicy tuna with salmon) Flying Dragon (tempura/spicy Mayo), and Dragon roll (crab Mayo mix with eel). While I didn't care for the Diamondhead rolls because of how much spicy Mayo was on top, my friend loved it. The two dragon rolls were delicious. The two of us girls finished 3 rolls between us. The place is super small and only has about 6 tables so I recommend putting your name down and walking around Waikiki while you wait to be seated. It's worth the wait! read more

I don't understand how this place does not have 5 stars. We ordered both the bridges they had to offer (each bridge feeds 2 people) and we shared it among 4 of us and we could barely finish.
