3 Maki Roll Lunch Special (~$14): Salmon Avocado Roll, Tuna Avocado Roll, Spicy Crunchy Salmon Roll (came with miso soup and salad)

Ordered: 3 Maki Roll Lunch Special (~$14): Salmon Avocado Roll, Tuna Avocado Roll, Spicy Crunchy Salmon Roll (came with miso soup and salad) Aya's take: Price has gone up since my last visit, but still worth it! Super fresh, well-made, and rice-to-fish ratio is spot on. Miso soup and salad complemented the meal well. Although a pretty light meal, this kept me full for a while!

Don't let the outside fool you! The food here is TOP notch. The interior really took us by surprise, as it looks lively and new. My girlfriend and I ordered the spicy cucumber salad, hamachi, and million dollar roll. The spicy cucumber salad was fresh and a great way to start. The hamachi was really good, the fish was fresh and the skin was nice and crispy. The million dollar roll was really good. You can definitely tell quality ingredients were being used. Our service was prompt and the waitress was very kind. Having lived in parsippany for 3 years and this being our first time here, I wish I would've noticed this spot a bit sooner. We will definitely be back!

Ordered a few of my favorite rolls for delivery to my office a few weeks ago. I ordered the Spicy Scallop Roll, Salmon Roll and two pieces of the red Tobiko sushi. What I liked- I liked how the spicy scallop roll had full pieces of scallop that you could see (see pictures) and that the salmon roll contained a good serving of fish. The tobiko also tasted good. What I didn't like- the fish did not taste fresh. The salmon definitely had a fishy taste and there were several pieces that were chewy and fibrous and I had to spit them out- gross! For these reasons, I will try other sushi spots in the area next time.

Really great sushi place. I've only ordered food for delivery from this place and everything is always fresh, neatly packed, and on time. Their sushi lunch prices are competitive for the area.

I had the pleasure of eating here today! The location was ok. It was easy to find with lots of free parking. The outside of the restaurant looks really drab and if I hadn't looked at the reviews I never would have stopped to eat somewhere like this just judging by the outside. Inside it is quite pleasant. Fairly average looking, but with some modern decor. The service was great and they kept my tea full and hot, which is very appreciated. The servers were nice and our food came out quickly. Our food didn't come out at the same time though. They didn't have any alcohol, but offered to serve it to us if we were to bring some, so that's nice. The food was played beautifully and tasted good. Felt pretty fresh and had good flavor combinations. They have a quite hefty menu, and I appreciated the wet wipe.

Not a great experience. Went with a work colleague who like this place. Ordered the three sushi roll special. I got the white tuna and cucumber, yellowtail and cucumber and salmon and cucumber. This and a soup and salad was $11.95, not too bad. The soup was ok, salad was watery from not drying the lettuce prior to dressing it. The sushi was wrong, they bought me regular tuna, not white tuna but since the waitress disappeared, I could address it until later. To their defense, when I did, they did offer to make it right but I was in a rush. The rice on the sushi was flavorless and it just seemed off, the texture, flavor, etc to me was just not appealing. I'm probably not going to return

I seriously want to go back to Parsippany just for the sushi here - when my flight was cancelled during "Sandy" I literally wept because I knew I would not be making the yearly trek to this neck of the woods. BYOB, fabulous presentation, amazing fresh fish and live music on Saturday night - all in a Jersey strip mall! Who would've thunk it?! The toro and salmon tartare was crazy amazing - so beautiful and delicious without sauces covering up the taste of the fish itself and a silky quail egg on top to counteract the crisp panko crust. All of our rolls were gorgeous and delightful - they make amazing tempura here. The beef negimaki was tender and delicious - not stringy as in some places. The most unassuming spot I have ever been to, tucked away in this strip mall but the doors open to a cool interior and fantastic food - i cannot wait to come back!

And when I sat down inside this ultra-casual restaurant - I'm pretty sure that it's a converted residential house - I only saw my fellow diners ordering sushi. So don't come here for ramen; come for an incredibly tasty, inexpensive sushi experience. I had an amazing roll, and let me tell you, the presentation is stunning. It came out sizzling on cast iron, while my server spooned garlic sauce over the top to cook it and add dazzle. Filled with avocado and spicy tuna, the portion would be perfect for sharing with someone. I also had a dynamite roll, which more or less melted in my mouth. I was less wild about the Christian crosses at every table. I'm a secular person. All in all though, Asahi qualifies as a hidden, off-the-beaten-path gem of Parsippany.

When we pulled into the parking lot, we noticed the door was held open with an elastic cord.. which seemed very odd to both my dining companion and I considering the chill in the mid-autumn evening air.. until we walked up the stairs and both noticed the thick smoky haze hanging in the air inside the restaurant. We looked at each other, nodded, and made a quick 180-degree turn, then drove to another local establishment for our ramen fix.

The place is a simpler local eatery, so decor wasn't exactly a designed by some of the best New York interior decorators, but it was pleasant and very calm. Even the drinks have fun little lights in them! Service was very kind and attentive but also lets you take your time - which is lovely!
