However, I just placed an order on the phone, and the employee was rude: Huffed and puffed that she had to take it over the phone as opposed to an online order. Just so that other customers know, I couldn't use the restaurant coupon online and therefore resorted to ordering over the phone. It's frustrating. Their food is amazing so I order despite their inability to follow allergy instructions. I have an allergy and can not have cucumbers or my skin breaks out. I ordered plain vegetarian rolls, and individually write an instruction on every roll for no cucumbers on each roll. This isn't the first time that half the roll is filled with cucumber when it arrives. I am the type to not call and complain and not write a review and just be grateful I can even afford to eat out. But I am upset at this point. My skin breaks out even with mild cucumber essence is in skin products. The lunch specials at Fu Sha are phenomenal! I met a friend here for a late weekday lunch, and had a great meal. You can choose from a wide range of sushi and non-sushi options, including bento boxes and maki combos. I tried the maki combo, which comes with three decently sized rolls with salad and miso soup for only $12. (There's a 2-roll version available, as well.) They have a wide range of sushi options, including vegetarian and cooked rolls. I tried the eel and avocado, yellow tail and cucumber, and tuna and avocado, all of which were great. The ratio of fish to rice on the maki rolls was excellent; lots of fish in the middle, and only a little rice on the outside. My friend got the sashimi special, which was only a couple of dollars more than my lunch, and which included a really generous portion of fresh fish. They served us free hot tea, as well. For the quality of the food, it was a really good deal. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our food was prepared quickly. We really took a risk with this place because I know that you can't just get sushi from anywhere and we are not from this area to know any good spots. That being said it was AMAZING! Just ok. Their are a lot of sushi spots around the area and this one just didn't do it for me. I'm pretty much a sushi snob, and was impressed with their menu offerings but was not blown away by anything I tried, and their are much more affordable options just down the road. The miso soup was bland and the tofu bite size, and the salad tasted as though it came out of a bag. The sushi was fine just not great. It just felt like the chefs didn't take their time. They tended to fall apart and i wanted my tempura to crunch which just didn't happen. I ordered a sampler and tempura for pick-up dinner, and the portions were large! I was impressed how nicely they wrapped my sushi up for me to-go, and amazed at how quickly they prepared the food! I literally called five minutes before I arrived at the restaurant, and my food was ready within five minutes of me arriving at the restaurant. Great service! The sushi was good! I loved how it had just the right level of spice. We saw this place had good reviews on Yelp and it's right down the road (plus, my guests really like sushi). It started off as a nice evening. I went with a group of friends who were visiting from out of town. I'm not a big sushi fan, so I got the yakisoba. It wasn't bad, but kind of bland. I've certainly had better yakisoba elsewhere (and made it better myself). The part where things went south was when we left. I had put the bill on my card, but we split the tip, so we paid that in cash. One of the women who was not our waitress (maybe an owner?) came out running and shouting at us. She said we hadn't paid the tip. I went back in to explain that yes, we had paid the tip, but in cash. She waved me over to the table we had eaten at saying (still shouting) that there was no cash on the table. Our waitress had taken the tip before we left, which I explained. It was cleared up, but at that point, the whole experience was soured. Apparently, this person had left the building to come yell at us and accuse us of not paying *tip* (and yes, we tipped 20%) *before* she had checked with the rest (or any...) of the staff. I was pleasantly surprised with the interior when I walked into this establishment. Since it is located in a mediocre strip mall where I usually only go for morning coffee at the quick chek, I didn't expect a lot. The decoration is up-to-date and modern. In fact, after we ordered a short time passed (not long at all) and I started to complain, "Where's the food? I'm hungry?" (And this was only because I was being dramatic and inpatient, it really hadn't been more than a couple minutes). And my friend replies, "it's right here." The waitress was at that moment bringing over the salads and miso soup. The food was good but not great. The seaweed salad was good; nothing unexpected. I would order it again. My friend tried it for her first time and commented that it didn't taste like what she expected. Of course, I had to know what was she expecting and she said, "salad." Well, this is not that kind of salad, folks! She liked it nonetheless. The miso soup was good; the broth was clear and not too heavily saturated with tofu. The garden salad with ginger dressing was also what was to be expected. Fresh lettuce, not overly dressed. No problems. My dining companion got the Jaguar Roll off the menu. This had crawfish, spicy mayo, and some other things in it that I cannot remember. I tried a piece and it was very good. There was a creamy taste to it that felt very luxurious. I would recommend this roll as a starter for 2 or 3 people to share so you can get a taste of it without overdoing it with the spicy mayo. I had the sashimi lunch, which was slightly disappointing. The super white tuna was excellent. So was the salmon. However, the red snapper was actually a little frozen and the tuna was a little fishy tasting. I had read this as a criticism in other reviews on yelp and I would agree with the other reviewers. It tasted like it was a little old (but still edible) and I was certainly confused by the frozen red snapper. Did they buy it frozen? Or did they store it after slicing in a too cold compartment? All in all, a decent experience for a Friday lunch-time treat. I would go there again but probably order a roll. This was my friend's second time there and she was very happy (for the second time) with her eclectically-put-together roll. It seems like (by the restaurant's expansive special roll menu) this is where they shine. Prices were consistent with the local sushi places. Our lunch was $33 plus tip. read more

We stay in Sparta on the regular to visit family. It's a small township so we're all out of places to go there...luckily Yelp is to the rescue and we're so glad this restaurant popped up when searching the area for sushi! Had it not been for Yelp, we would have kept on driving because it is located in a small and dated and sad looking strip mall, which is unfortunate. The ambiance, once inside, is fabulous and the food is INCREDIBLE (even the presentation is crazy awesome)! We had sashimi (fresh and delicious and big pieces for the money- and I am VERY picky about my sashimi), sushi rolls, fried rice, and chicken and tofu teriyaki. Every single bite was beyond enjoyable. The service was also wonderful. We have a 14 month old and the woman who served us brought him snacks (which she didn't even charge us for). Found this little gem on Yelp. It is located in a strip mall and you would never tell from the outside that it is a gem. Upon arriving for dinner last night (around 8 pm) we were seated promptly. The waitress came for drink orders almost immediately. We got tea and water- nothing fancy. Would love to come here on a Saturday for their live jazz night. Now on to the sushi: The menu was large and had a variety of sashimi, nigiri, appetizers, etc. We took a while to decide, and upon recommendation from the waitress, ordered the Big Billy ($13), Sexy Susan ($13), a california roll ($4.50), and a philly roll ($5.50). After a short wait, we received all of our rolls. They were delicious and fresh! Not too much rice and lots of yummy filling. After we finished, the owner came over to us and asked how our food was. We told her we loved it and we would probably be back tonight. They were having a birthday party for a younger family and she brought a piece of ice cream cake for us to share- so sweet of her :) Overall, we were really happy with FuSha.
