Kid K got a California roll, I got the lobster roll, a special. Both were big and good. Lobster roll was shredded lobster, and came with drawn butter and lemon wedges. The more I ate the more I wanted. She finished most of her roll, said the krab was a little spicy (I didn't try it.) Not cheap, but that's partly due to the lobster roll. And that's it's sushi, even if it's fast casual sushi. Parking is tight, weird entry, small lot, and High is busy so be careful. Place is small, but a good amount of seating, and lots of big windows. This was a while ago that I haven't gotten around to posting yet. The food at Fusian was great--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I was really looking forward to the overall experience, but unfortunately, the manager (a female) completely ruined it. She was rude, unprofessional, and shockingly sloppy in her demeanor. From the way she spoke to customers to how she carried herself, it was far from what I would expect from someone in a leadership role. Her attitude left a sour taste in what otherwise could have been a pleasant visit. While I'd consider coming back for the sushi, I'd seriously hesitate if I thought I'd have to deal with the same unprofessional behavior. Fusian should really address this issue because great food alone isn't enough to make up for a manager who doesn't treat customers with respect. read more

I went to Fusian and tried their Bao Bun. You have 3 protein options: Marinated Pork, Soy-glazed Chicken or Roasted Tofu. Those are filled up in the steamed bun and topped with cucumber slaw, chopped peanuts and cilantro. I got the Marinated Pork and I do like it. The pork is very tender and soft. And the flavor balance well with the steamed bun. I may choose to opt out with the cucumber slaw next time. As the flavor of the vinegary sauce is fairly strong and kind of overwhelmed my palate. Let me start out by saying I'm a big fan of Fusian. I visit their Grandview location regularly. It's always fresh, fast, and tasty! I recently had a late night of work and needed diner before I headed home. I was pleased to see that this location of Fusian was super close by and open until 10PM. It was about 9:10 and I worried I wouldn't be able to find much open. No worries though, Fusian was waiting for me! I arrived to find the place all lit up and staff members happy to help take care of my grumbling belly. Now, I always get the same thing and the best part is I know it will always taste good. Crispy shrimp, avocado, carrots, cucumber, and jalapeños, with chives and sesame seeds. Oh, and you can't forget their spicy mayo and sweet soy sauce combination. Both sauces are great and complement each other (and the roll) super well. Both team members that assisted me were really sweet and I was in and out of there in a jiffy. If you are looking for fast sushi like sushi then this is your place. Fusian is basically the Chipotle of the sushi world. All the ingredients are laid out in front of you behind a plastic protector. Think buffet style, only you can not serve yourself. That is where the employees come in. They assemble your rolls, the final step is putting your roll in a metallic kitchen gadget that literally completes the pressing of the rolls. Very inauthentic. I ordered the Crispy Shrimp and the Salmon Crunch roll to go. When I got home I opened up both to go boxes and I was knocked over by the fish smell coming from one of them. I discovered it was from the Salmon Crunch roll. What was weird about the actual salmon meat was when they were assembling the roll at the restaurant I was struck by how much the meat looked like old tuna fish. Not like an actual sushi fish at all. The smell was so off putting to me that I did try one bite, but I just could not stomach it. My other roll, the crispy shrimp was good, but I do not really consider that sushi. It did serve its purpose for the evening of stepping in as my dinner since our Wizard of Za pizza was underwhelming in size. But I would not suggest Fusian if you are a connoisseur of good sushi. You may be disappointed. In fact, I consider Fusian as a good gateway to enter into the sushi eating world. As your palette matures you will graduate from Fusian, in my opinion. read more

I went to FUSIAN sawmill road location. Basically Chipotle sushi concept. Very fast, very clean. I had the spicy Tuna roll. Sushi rice and nori wrapping was pre made and the roll itself was made from ingredients that were sitting in open containers. Normally that doesn't bother me but when the ingredients are raw fish then it's a bit of a red flag. Then there was no beer, sake, wine or alcohol of any kind. Not what you are expecting from a sushi shop. The spicy tuna roll was ok. Rice was a bit dry, nori didn't have any flavor, the tuna was overshadowed by the veggies..... but it did pack some spicy flavors. The wasabi was good but the ginger came in one big slice so it was hard to have a little bit with every bite. They do advertise fast, easy sushi...... but really that's the same as a grocery store. It was a very pleasing place to visit because it is so bright, welcoming and fast while being pretty reasonably priced. But given the lack of alcohol combined with the taste and raw fish under the lights......I will not be going back. read more

The website was super easy to use, and I loaded my bowl up with tofu, every possible veggie, Thai peanut sauce, some toppings, and sweet chili sauce to top it all. When I went to pick it up, I arrived 15 minutes early, and it was already ready, so that was great (not sure about the freshness if I'd been on time or slightly late). The bowl was beautifully organized and so nutritious, but my only complaint would be that the sweet chili sauce was so overpowering that it was all I got in every bite, and the Thai peanut flavor was completely muted. What knocked the stars is that fusian is now charging extra for avocado, and most of the rolls they have on the menu include avocado and a lot of people use avocado for create your own. The rolls have also gotten more expensive which is always a bummer. Also, maybe it was an off day but the customer service was also lacking. A friend suggested I try this place out and I'm so glad about it. FUSIAN has been in the neighborhood for years but for some reason it was never on my radar. After having a wonderful first meal delivered I couldn't stop thinking about it and had to place another order the following week....And again the next week. We have tried the custom rice bowls ( my favorite), custom sushi rolls and the coconut curry ramen. Every order was delicious but on my last order for some reason all the food was incredibly spicy and not really able to be eaten. Over-priced create your own sushi. If you have never been here before, it's like Quiznos, Subway, BiBibop, Piada, Chipotle in that you choose a base item and add your toppings as you move down the line. However here at Fusian there are hidden charges on certain items. The menu used to be easy to look at, and the prices were laid out so you could see them clearly. At the other places I mentioned you choose a base, then a protein and then everything else is included in the price but watch out as none of the description signs have a warning label that says it costs more. They just let you add whatever you want, then at the end you pay the price. The paper menu that I was looking at had a list of sushi rolls that were a specific price and then create your own for $7.25, but once I got done making my roll it was $8. The paper menu also showed pre-made bowls and then a create your own bowl for $10.50, but again when I got done adding stuff to it, the price went up to $12. The price for 1 bowl and 1 roll split between two people was $20+tax, ouch! I left hungry as this was not a lot of food. I like the concept of create your own sushi but the ingredients are not that special. Taste Since we did create your own bowl and roll we ended up with too many flavors in each item and the flavors were a little weird together. I like the concept of create your own sushi, but it's underwhelming. They have bowls now, which were not an option when they first opened. The bowl was good but overpriced. We got a create your own bowl with crab as the protein and a create your own roll with shrimp. I like the concept of create your own mainly because there are certain things I don't eat, like spicy, so it's great that I can avoid that. Most of the sauces were listed as spicy so I felt pretty limited in selection there. The bowl was good with almost everything in there. For the roll, we probably should have been more selective about what we put in as the flavors turned out a little weird. It was also hard to eat because it didn't turn out to be a nice tight roll. My main complaint is the price. $8 for a sushi roll with pretty basic ingredients is a little high, but $12 for the bowl is way too much. Considering that price I would expect to have leftovers, but if all I ate was the bowl, I definitely would finish it. I just think I can get better food and better price point elsewhere. read more

My name is Simone and I'm addicted to Fusian. I've been a regular customer at Fusian for quite some time whether it's in person or ordered thru Ubereats, and I have to say the quality never disappoints. What I love most is how fresh the ingredients are and that they have some rotating option to to spice it up. I typically get a custom roll with roasted salmon, all the veggies, and chili ponzu sauce. And let me tell you, it hits every time. It always fills me up and leaves me feeling satisfied. But what prompted me to write this review is that I branched out to try the rice bowl. It's the same as my sushi order, just deconstructed. This bowl is delicious and the portion is very generous. Definitely good bang for your buck. The only downside for me is that the veggies are cut in strips to make it easier for the sushi rolls but having them this way in the bowl is not as ideal. That being said it's still delicious and I'll definitely be ordering this again. Just for comparison I ate about half of the bowl and was stuffed whereas when I get a sushi roll I can eat the whole thing before feeling full. read more

Sushi withdrawal! Haven't had sushi in too long, suggested my daughter and I go here for a catch-up lunch. She had been and gave me a quick overview then I observed as she ordered a "build your own" roll. The protein options were fresh and appealing-choosing the smoked salmon. My daughter later informed me she chooses 1/2 serving of two proteins for variety of flavor and texture at same price. The veggies to add where diverse; I got beets and sweet potato and of course cucumber. The slices were like 3 toothpicks thick-I didn't think the roll would close-but it did! You know, I've never had horrible sushi but this was it. Can't quite put my finger on it, but maybe it was just the fact that the ingredients sitting out there just looked dry and such? I do like that this is cheap sushi, so that's a selling point. Lots of parking too and I love the clean, minimalist interiors. I also came around noon so it wasn't busy here yet. I made my own sushi with the seaweed and white rice, salmon, cucumber, carrots, and avocado. I also sprinkled some tempura on top to give some texture and put sweet soy and a chili mayo type sauce on it. Ingredients tasted fresh and I was definitely full. It just didn't seem right to me. They attempt to roll the sushi but presentation honestly misses the mark. With the tempura on top, it looked like a sloppy mess with the seaweed kinda unwrapping itself. They put the sushi in this machine thing they crank that cuts if but it just seemed pretty botched up. I'd rather pay more for an actual expert to make my sushi than minimum wage workers to do something like this. I'm pretty sick and tired of Chipotle style restaurants like these that not only devalue food but are made by people not qualified it. Stop devaluing cultures! Stop with the trendy restaurants! You have a choice of brown or white rice, i always request double rice, theres no up charge and your sushi rolls are huge! And your final choice is another numerous amount of sauces ranging from sweet, spicy, sweet n spicy.
