three bowls of food on a table
    Michael G.

First timer. We had a tuna Poké and chicken and rice. I was impressed by the freshness of the ingredients. Negative, they no longer offer brown rice. "Corporate took it off the menu since no one liked it" was the commentary of the line preparer person. Huh? A lonely Thursday at 815, but they seemed to be busy with to-go and delivery service orders. Alexis is cute and was very personable. So I am happy with my first Fusian experience.

This used to be one of our go to sushi places but after last night, I don't think we'll ever go again. Our sushi rolls were overfilled with rice, underfilled with everything else and the entire thing had a gummy texture. We ended up throwing out $50 worth of sushi. So disappointing that the quality has gone down in recent years.

I went to Fusian and tried their Bao Bun. You have 3 protein options: Marinated Pork, Soy-glazed Chicken or Roasted Tofu. Those are filled up in the steamed bun and topped with cucumber slaw, chopped peanuts and cilantro. I got the Marinated Pork and I do like it. The pork is very tender and soft. And the flavor balance well with the steamed bun. I may choose to opt out with the cucumber slaw next time. As the flavor of the vinegary sauce is fairly strong and kind of overwhelmed my palate. Currently, I think they are still in the testing phase for the Bao Bun and only available in selected locations. [Beavercreek, Centerville, Clintonville, Hyde Park, Kenwood]

Such a shame how much this place has declined, it used to be one of our favorites! But the past few visits have been disappointing with the worst being last night. Gummy texture, waaaay too much rice, basically non existing fillings. Safe to say I won't be returning.

If you are looking for fast sushi like sushi then this is your place. Fusian is basically the Chipotle of the sushi world. All the ingredients are laid out in front of you behind a plastic protector. Think buffet style, only you can not serve yourself. That is where the employees come in. They assemble your rolls, the final step is putting your roll in a metallic kitchen gadget that literally completes the pressing of the rolls. Very inauthentic. I ordered the Crispy Shrimp and the Salmon Crunch roll to go. When I got home I opened up both to go boxes and I was knocked over by the fish smell coming from one of them. I discovered it was from the Salmon Crunch roll. What was weird about the actual salmon meat was when they were assembling the roll at the restaurant I was struck by how much the meat looked like old tuna fish. Not like an actual sushi fish at all. The smell was so off putting to me that I did try one bite, but I just could not stomach it. My other roll, the crispy shrimp was good, but I do not really consider that sushi. It did serve its purpose for the evening of stepping in as my dinner since our Wizard of Za pizza was underwhelming in size. But I would not suggest Fusian if you are a connoisseur of good sushi. You may be disappointed. In fact, I consider Fusian as a good gateway to enter into the sushi eating world. As your palette matures you will graduate from Fusian, in my opinion.

Great place for delicious take out sushi. We got the crunchy salmon roll and then built our own with shrimp tempura. Both were just awesome and really fresh and filling! Loved their spicy Mayo We definitely want to come back and try the bowls.

I went to FUSIAN sawmill road location. Basically Chipotle sushi concept. Very fast, very clean. I had the spicy Tuna roll. Sushi rice and nori wrapping was pre made and the roll itself was made from ingredients that were sitting in open containers. Normally that doesn't bother me but when the ingredients are raw fish then it's a bit of a red flag. Then there was no beer, sake, wine or alcohol of any kind. Not what you are expecting from a sushi shop. The spicy tuna roll was ok. Rice was a bit dry, nori didn't have any flavor, the tuna was overshadowed by the veggies..... but it did pack some spicy flavors. The wasabi was good but the ginger came in one big slice so it was hard to have a little bit with every bite. They do advertise fast, easy sushi...... but really that's the same as a grocery store. It was a very pleasing place to visit because it is so bright, welcoming and fast while being pretty reasonably priced. But given the lack of alcohol combined with the taste and raw fish under the lights......I will not be going back.

    Customized vegan rice bowl
    Rachel S.

I ordered online and customized a vegan rice bowl. The website was super easy to use, and I loaded my bowl up with tofu, every possible veggie, Thai peanut sauce, some toppings, and sweet chili sauce to top it all. When I went to pick it up, I arrived 15 minutes early, and it was already ready, so that was great (not sure about the freshness if I'd been on time or slightly late). The bowl was beautifully organized and so nutritious, but my only complaint would be that the sweet chili sauce was so overpowering that it was all I got in every bite, and the Thai peanut flavor was completely muted. Overall though, a great price for a colorful, healthy meal ($8.98), but I would go for a different sauce combination next time!

Delicious! I am not able to eat seafood so it's nice to be able still enjoy food from here. I ordered two custom rolls. One with roasted chicken, cream cheese, and veggies and another with veggies and cream cheese. They are delicious and I'll definitely be getting food from here again!

I am a big sushi person and I absolutely love the concept of creating your own roll! I had a hankering for sushi after work so instead of getting my weekly tacos, I came to fusian. I have been to other locations and they are all similar in that you create your own roll similar to making a burrito at chipotle. Ingredients are fresh and the sushi always taste good. What knocked the stars is that fusian is now charging extra for avocado, and most of the rolls they have on the menu include avocado and a lot of people use avocado for create your own. The rolls have also gotten more expensive which is always a bummer. Also, maybe it was an off day but the customer service was also lacking. I will probably only come back if I am really craving my own specialty roll.

    Kaleo Bowl

Let me start off by saying the Lavender Lemonade is very refreshing. Not only that, it was delicious! I love these new Fusion Inspired bowls their testing. Need to have these bowls at every location. I ordered the Kaleo Bowl and it was amazing. Can't wait to go back and try them all. I think the bowls are better than their sushi rolls.

The edamame stood out because they generous with the flaky salt, which I personally loved. Sometimes places hold back, but this was well seasoned. 3. Customer Service (2.5/5) This is where things started to fall apart a bit. I stood at the front for about 12 minutes before being acknowledged, and the restaurant was nearly empty. I had to make eye contact with someone in the kitchen just to be seated. Service at the table wasn't much better. It took about 15 minutes just to get my drink order taken (which I had to flag the waitress down to order), and by that time I was ready to order my whole meal. I ordered an appetizer along with a couple of sushi rolls and some sake. I'm not sure if the waitress wasn't thinking about it, but she brought my rolls out before she even brought out my appetizer or my drink. The inconsistency was noticeable and took away from the experience. 4. Overall Taste (4.5/5) The food absolutely carried! I ordered a sweet potato roll and the Hoonie Roll, which ended up being my favorite part of the meal. Both were fresh, flavorful, and really well-balanced. Paired with the edamame and sake, everything came together nicely. 5. Overall Experience (3.9/5 ) Taking everything into account, the experience lands just under a 4. The food and atmosphere were strong, but the service created a noticeable disconnect. It's definitely one of those places where you'd go back for the food, but you'd hope the service catches up next time.

Lighting was gorgeous and everywhere had a great view of their bar Service was amazing! The server knew what their house dressing was made of. The bad: Green tea served with tea bags instead of in a pot. Confusing and turned bitter almost immediately because it was loose leaf and clearly a bag meant for a pot, not a cup... there also wasn't a specific dish to put the tea bag in, so we sacrificed one of our soy sauce dishes. Neither I or my dinner guest could finish the last 20% because of the bitterness. It was Loud in there with no music to speak of If you're looking for dessert, it's often seasonal and something you have to ask the servers about. Not a big deal all things considered, but sweet tooth havers have been warned Overall, a shockingly good place to go for dinner date night!!!

We were there around noon on a Sunday so they were not very busy but that was okay with us. I had made a Resy reservation because they recommended it. The interior is decorated very well and the light is slightly dimmed for a nice ambiance! They have really nice, and solid, dinnerware and glassware. We started with the crab rangoon tarts, 3 in an order, and the edamame. The tart shells were so buttery and the filling was the usual luscious crab mix. The edamame comes with salt or spicy, we chose salt. There was enough for all 3 of us. The drinks we chose were the Gin & Tea and the Lychee Martini. Both were delicious and the foam on both were handshaken and so creamy. The Gin & Tea was a surprise winner and I highly recommend it. We ordered 5 rolls. The Naruto, Center, Fantastic, Tiger and Dancing Salmon. I love Naruto rolls without the rice and nori, instead wrapped in thinly sliced cucumber. This one was well made and stayed together when using my chopsticks. It allows the fish to shine! The Center Roll had spicy tuna and a topping of avocado, masago and spicy mayo. It's what you would expect and well done. The Tiger Roll has a mix inside and on top. Each bite was a little different and delicious. The Fantastic Roll was just that! It had a lobster salad inside and slightly scorched Japanese scallops on top. The smokiness of the scallop was surprising and delicate and complemented the sweeter lobster salad. The Dancing Salmon roll had eel inside and salmon outside. I'm not a huge eel fan but this roll I ate and enjoyed. I hadn't had good restaurant sushi since NYC and this was up there with it. And after that soft opening with a regular menu, this week they introduced an all-you-can-eat menu as well. So of course I got there as soon as I could. Quite an extensive menu for AYCE too, though not as big as their standard one. And full of interesting stuff. Nigiri, raw rolls, cooked rolls, deep-fried rolls, specialty rolls, apps, ramen, hibachi, and more. I wanted to try everything, but even though I arrived hungry I just couldn't. Maybe 25 years ago I could have eaten twice as much, and when the students hear about this they will clean them out. It's just down from where Japanese Oriental Restaurant used to be, and I used to save up and pig out there with my friends. Now I eat a bit less, but I still figure I had about $60 worth of sushi for $30. I started with seaweed salad- big portion, and very tasty. Fresh and a little spicy. Then unagi- two big pieces, excellent, tender and flavorful. Then maguro- good, melt in your mouth. Next I tried their "dragon eggs"- deep fried avocado with kani and tuna. OMG. Again, a big portion (two whole avocados, halved and stuffed. Finally, two big rolls: the High Street roll with spicy tuna, and the Seashore roll with salmon, kani, and more. Wow. Big, and tasty. Best sushi in town? No, but up there. Really good. Service was great. They open at noon, at least on weekdays, and I was the first one in. The decor is cool- it's an old house, and they have made it modern but with vintage touches. The bathrooms and waiting area are super cool. There's a bar off to one side, a sushi bar in back, and lots of sleek but comfy seating. Also a huge patio and courtyard out front. Free street parking out front (except during rush hour.) Also a small lot in back. Get here. If you like sushi, or other Japanese food, you'll like it. If you like a bargain, you'll love it. $27, yes, not cheap; but for sushi it's not bad, and for AYCE sushi it is a steal. A cool place to hang out, not far from campus, and drink, and eat good food till you're stuffed.

Atmosphere was modern and soothing. You can get ramen, cooked dishes like tempura, salads, all kinds of things. There's a full bar as well, and areas with cozy or romantic seating. The design was actually pretty cool, you could eat with a group or sit up at a bar by yourself and feel very comfortable either way. The sushi menu itself includes more traditional Japanese sushi, which honestly is what I'd recommend from the AYCE menu. They even have sashimi, which is cut thinly- which is fine, if you want more you can just order more, that prevents excessive waste. Most AYCE places wouldn't offer sashimi anyway. But the traditional sushi, sashimi and rolls were the ones we liked best. The more Americanized rolls with the alternative (non-nori) wraps were not as delicious, in our opinion. We couldn't figure out what it was, whether it was the wraps or an ingredient in the chopped sushi roll fillings. But there's a ton on this menu that was good. Will eat here again. Oh and a short note on large groups- maybe this is not the spot to go with a massive group? It's more of an intimate dining experience, although they do seem to allow big groups. I only mention this because I saw a negative review about slow service for large groups before we went and then the evening we went a group of maybe 10-12 college students impatiently waited by the door to be seated, even though the servers were polite and had to wait for multiple tables to clear at the same time to push together seat such a large group in a smallish restaurant- the patrons kept coming in and trying to sit at random tables before it was their turn. If you have a massive group I'd say split into multiple tables or maybe choose a different, larger or chain restaurant, like El Vaquero or Buffalo Wild Wings? Anyway I hope they left a good tip because the workers were very professional and the group was very large and very impatient.
