I had the Japanese Steak Street Tacos - the meat was so flavorful and there was a this tasty sauce on top that just elevated the taco to amazing. But the real revelation was the corn nuggets! Finally made it in, and I'll be back. First off, the nachos with spicy Korean pork were fantastic. I definitely recommend those, and the spicy pork is surely the best protein on them (not really spicy, just a little something). The cheese is not regular nacho cheese, tastes good, and the combo of the cheese, the tangy sauce, and the salty tortilla chips fused deliciously. We had a mix of street tacos- Japanese Steak, Thai Chicken, and Panko Shrimp. I would order all again but the shrimp and Thai chicken may have been our favorite. The friendly staff said the steak is probably their most popular. Tacos are on doubled up small corn tortillas which is perfect, with contents loaded up and sauced, quality fresh greens on top. Very cool new place in Edwardsville! Best way to sum up the place is it's Mexican meets Asian. Like Korean pork burritos, tacos and nachos, you know. They have a great menu. A little on the pricey side but the owner insists he is generous on portions for most things and boy was he right! I started off with crab rangoon, which was alright, but what really won me over was the loaded Korean pork fries. They had queso, green onions, and lotsa sauce on them. Filled me up greatly. Met a friend for dinner here last week. I've heard nothing but great things and we were both excited to try this place. The dumplings were incredible as were the crab rangoon. I almost ordered a second batch of the dumplings for dinner, but wanted to try the tacos. I opted for the spicy pork tacos and they were really good too. I believe it was pork steak (which I don't mind at all) or a similar cut, but regardless - very flavorful. The tacos come in threes and I ended up eating one and picking out the meat on the rest. You order at the counter and the woman who took my order was very nice and checked on us throughout our time there. I'd heard they didn't serve alcohol, but was pleasantly surprised I could have a beer with dinner. They don't have a huge selection, but enough of a variety to appease most people. A very cute little bar area and a fairly large TV (which made watching Olympic break dancing pretty fun). It's definitely a cozy little spot. Great food, unreasonable price increases! I moved here about a month ago and tried out this restaurant and loved it. The food is excellent and it was reasonably priced. My burrito was a little over $11 and was fresh/tasty. Now only a month later, the fried rice no longer comes with the burrito or bowl, it is an additional $1.50 charge and on top of that, they raised the overall base price of the burrito or bowl close to $2 more. So now a base item burrito with fried rice is $16. It's good food but not good enough to justify a 45% price increase in less than 30 days. Aside from the bad, the service is great and the restaurant itself is calm and low key. Stopped in for dinner on a week night. Server raved about the corn nuggets, so we gave them a try. I think it was 10.95 for this basket of frozen bar food type balls of grease. Defiantly not worth the price. Up next were the tacos, we both got 3 for 12.00 or so, a couple were ok, some had meat dried up. I would say they were ok, but not great as we heard. Fusion Taco is such a great addition to the local food scene. I was initially unsure after hearing the concept. The menu appeared similar to another popular fusion restaurant in St. Louis, but after trying, Fusion Taco wins in every way. The portions are generous, the food is delicious and fresh, and the owners are so kind and hospitable. My two favorite things so far are the Japanese steak burrito and the street corn nuggets. We have also really enjoyed the loaded fusion fries (we've had the spicy pork and Thai chicken versions) and the homemade fusion dumplings. I'm excited to try more of the menu, but it's hard to get away from our favorites! Both my husband and I were shocked that this place wasn't packed. Cozy atmosphere, kind and attentive staff, and the food was sublime. Thought I was only getting shrimp tempura, but it came with a salad underneath with delicious dressing that I loved, despite generally disliking salads in general. This place is NEXT LEVEL! What an amazing addition to Edwardsville!!! As I'm approaching the order station I'm greeted by a very nice woman who really made the moment right. She was excellent during the entire visit. The restaurant was very nice and clean, I liked that they had water available on the counter (more places should follow). Okay so now about the FOOD! We got the fusion fries, Japanese style steak tacos, and Korean Spicy Pork Burrito. The prices for the food portions is incredible. The food was some of the best food in edwardsville. The pork was flavorful and just the right amount of heat, the steak was tender and perfect amount of sauce, the fries were perfectly crunchy and seasoned well. Serious 5-star food! We split an order of street corn and ended up bringing home half of it. These are sort of like corn fritters with a wonderful corn center, drizzled in a sweet/hot jelly. Incredibly good. Then we each had sweet potato fries loaded with -- some kind of delightful beef with sauce. I had Korean sauce and my partner had the Japanese steak. Mine was a little peppery; hers was a very nice soy sauce. It was more meat than fries, so not a carb overload. We ate every crumb. We'll be back! read more
