I decided to go ahead with the installation . Dale was available for my questions . Margie helped me with finances . The team that came to inspect my roof and then to do installation was professional and answered all my questions . With use of the SolarEdge app to watch my energy production , I have been very pleased with all steps of this process . SMUD came out for inspection soon after. When I first signed up for Solar I decided to cancel my plan with Sunpower and move forward with Future. I went this route because the team that helped me 100% guaranteed their professionalism, their service, and their equipment. Of course I always do research to the best I can and so I decided to put my trust in them. Not even more than 2 years in and the system has stopped twice already not generating anything for months. Now I usually check my application but what they guaranteed was that when such a situation occurs their team will be notified so we will never run into these issues and so it can be resolved asap. Almost 2 years later though and now they blame me for not constantly looking at the application and not catching this myself on time. When I state this has been the worst customer service on top of so much more I can go on about, IT IS! I will definitely NOT be adding more panels with them in the future because they do not represent FUTURE at all! I will also NOT be recommending them to anyone after the way they have failed me as a customer. One that that truly trusted them with their services. I feel so deceived and undervalued on a system I've been paying thousands for when it should have been saving me money. However, I can't even receive any type of empathy nor reimbursement for the money I now have to pay PG&E for those months of no connection. I wish I can go back and undo the review I first left when it was just installed for the credit. Presentation was a bit long but covered everything we needed to know. Ambassador was very knowledgeable/helpful in answering our questions and giving us information on the program. Installation took longer than expected because of delays with COVID but once the techs were here, day of installing was very smooth and professional. Techs explained everything we needed to know about the panels and how to download the app needed to view all the solar stats. Email communication with company has been easy and pretty fast response. My experience with Future Energy Savers has been very positive. From the initial signing of the paperwork to the installation to the energy production, it has all been smooth for me. Everyone has been prompt, courteous, and professiona and it is very much appreciated. I received a $500 rebate from SMUD and believe I will or should be receiving $500 from Future Energy Savers for being a part of the ambassador program. My SMUD bill has significantly decreased and although I am currently paying for ownership of the panels, once that is paid off is when I will be truly saving. I have to say that Future Energy Savers is a top-notch, professional company! For background, I have been in my current home, which was built in the mid-1980s on an acre sized lot, for a little over two and half years. After my first summer in this home, I knew that I needed solar just as I had on my previous home in Natomas. In the hot months of summer, I had an electric bill (SMUD)l that was near $500 and that was with me keeping the AC at 78 degrees and doing all we could to follow the recommendations of the power company to save money. I knew from previous experience that solar would offset this huge payment during the hot months and I began my search for a local, small business with a good reputation for my solar system. During this search, I had signed up with another company in Sacramento and thought I was happy with the system and price, and then I met Eugene with Future Energy. I quickly learned that Future had the latest technology related to solar panels and their prices were better than the deal I originally signed up for. Future offered me a system that was the same size, but with the ability to expand, to add a battery in the future and was a few thousand dollars less than the other company I originally went with! A hundred dollars would not have made me change my mind, but when I saw the savings of over three thousand dollars and the ability for my system to expand, I was sold. When it came time for the installation, I expected it to take a few days as it had on my previous house. I was totally wrong, the install team arrived at 8:00 AM everything installed and done by 3:00 PM! When the install team was finished, you wouldn't even know that they had been there. Everything was neat and clean, and the only difference was my new solar panels on the roof along with the necessary panel/box on the side of the house. And of course, my start to saving a lot of money with the new solar system! I am totally happy and completely satisfied with Future Energy, they saved me a huge amount of money, gave me a better and expandable system and have great customer service. He spoke for a second, and I politely said "no thank you sir" and he said no need to thank me, and continued with "let me tell you about.." I politely interrupted again and said, "no thanks, I am not interested" then he goes, a little more rudely and pushy "you're not interested in what?" We have always wanted to go solar, but we were turned down by so many companies for one reason or another. Then, we dealt with Future Energy Savers. They were quick to schedule a sit down with us and discuss our energy use and needs, as well as our options for going solar. They were very thorough and answered any questions we had. The whole process was handled with kindness, patients, and fast actions. After we decided on installation, we didn't wait long for the work to start. The workers were friendly and finished the job quicker than expected, but not sacrificing quality. They, too, took the time to answer any further questions and double checked everything before leaving. Then came inspections, which were not very time consuming, as I would have guessed. They, also, didn't take as long to schedule as they had prepared us for. Once everything was over, it was time to meet with our Solar Agent once more. Wrapping up any lose ends, finishing paperwork, and answering more questions we might have came up with, this was the goal. Additionally, this was the time to show us how to control our system and use the app for viewing our energy production. Overall, from the beginning, we were given a very detailed description of the full process and what to expect. Timelines such as a matter of a certain amount of hours, days, and weeks, were also provided. Timelines for how fast we could expect a call to schedule our initial intake, how long that intake would take, how far out to expect the different inspections to take place, or how long it could take for the city to grant a permit, how long the installation would take, and so on. Over all, from beginning to end, we got an estimate of about 6 to 8 weeks. In reality, it only took 3 weeks. Along with the great service and an outstanding solar system, we find that Future was the best company we could have gone through. We qualified for programs that other companies didn't even offer, getting all sorts of incentives...that you will have to find out for yourself Point being, we saved money, we will continue to save money, and we are not just getting back, we are giving back. Best of all, it helps us and the environment, which helps everyone. Well, perhaps a debatable best of all is that we will one day own our solar panels (not every company has this) and we are paying less than our normal electric bill for it. Let me not forget to mention that this payment isn't in addition to our electric bill, it replaces it...minus our gas and a small portion of electricity, but the payment still adds up to less than our electricity bill alone, even counting the gas portion or not. Once we own the panels, our monthly bill for electricity will probably fall short of anything one can imagine for an electric bill. I don't want to give too much detail on our current or future situation, but we could tell you that we are saving around $200 a month just by going solar with Future Energy Savers, as of now. More once we own the system. In conclusion: We were pleased with the customer care, quickness, work, and overall service. Our system is up and running, without hiccups. All inspections passed, everything over with, and we finally got our solar, after years of desiring it. I just happened to move three times in the last 7 years. I have used Future Energy Savers in all three houses. Everytime it has instantly saved me money. The estimates were dead on down to the penny! So quick to install and they explained everything. My second house was older and needed some updates, like the breaker panel. They updated that too and did an extremely clean job! DO NOT PICK THIS COMPANY - FUTURE ENERGY SAVERS. Pick ANY other company, you will save roughly 10-15 thousand dollars and they will be superior in every way. You will avoid the headaches, arguments, lack of knowledge, false advertising, and manipulative nature of how FES promises you features at signing but not tell you that they do not offer it or charge extra it's too late, you already paid them for the system. May 20, Dale came by our house and went over everything that we need, after some calculations, he set a 4kW system for us. He explained all the features that FES gives. He knew the products so we knew they would take care of us. He mentioned FES customer service is 2nd to none when compared to other companies and gave us the Ambassador Program since we are a returning customer. Dale promised us a worry-free system from FES so we went into contract: * Active/Live solar production monitoring; Micro-inverter monitoring; Quick turn arounds on repairs because of 30-year warranty; FES monitoring my system for quick resolutions of issues; Ability to use my system from day one; Great customer service, quality parts and installation He confirmed we will get all these as part of the system. Wife and I discussed and both agreed that this was a good choice. We would spend more time with family and less on the system (my son is Autistic). June 2, FES calls to install the system so I took the day off. Once the system was installed and turned on, the installers let us know that we can start using the system from here on end. June 9, FES inspector comes by to check the system installation so I took that day off. He told us that the system works fine, we're good to keep using it, SMUD should be done in another week. July 6, SMUD installs their Meter and lets me know to turn our Solar to use. I was confused as I was told that it's already on. Dale, 2 installers and pre-inspection person stated: We would be able to use our system from day one install. There was no mention of the system being off. I called Rob, tech person, about why it was not Energized. He said it was turned off June 9, the day the inspection person came. He turned it off and told us that we can keep using it. It was off for almost 1 month and no one in FES knew. Where was this live monitoring that FES does? Where is the customer service that FES was to provide? If the system is off, there will be a notification to FES about it not working! I had to manually energize it while on the phone. System was up but wasn't working properly when checked online. Production and consumption charts were wrong. It was showing Solar production at 1 AM. Called FES on and they couldn't figure it out but could see it was happening from the day one until turned off and again when turned back on. They knew this but didn't come to fix it? What in the hell did I pay this company for? Contacted FES again and complained that we paid so much money and got ripped off. I wanted to speak to a Manager or the Owner. Got a call from Mitch and started talking about my issues. Gave him proof on normal system costs per industry standard. SMUD shows the cost for Solar on their site and building permit shows my system value. Mitch comes back with the salesman pitch comparing FES to a Mercedes dealership. He was forgetting that FES has provided me ZERO world class, sorry Mercedes class customer service. They provided me mediocre at best service. I gave him a list of issues that I've been having and told him that this is not what I paid for. Where is what was promised? I requested FES compensate me for ignoring what was part of the contract by adding 8-10 panels. After a week, they came back with 2 more panels to compensate. I was shocked, hesitantly said yes on the phone but spoke to my wife and she said no. We are not taking 2 panels, that's an insult. They lied to us, charged us $14,000+ more than others, didn't provide what was said, caused us frustration every day and now are "giving" 2 panels to make it all better? I emailed FES within a few hours to let Mitch know that we don't agree, it's not the compensation we wanted. He called back and said that they would not give me anything now because we are wanting too much, he will only honor the original contract. Honor the original contract? You haven't delivered ANYTHING that was promised! I told Mitch about how Dale sold me on all these things, he said the equipment was new and they aren't trained up on it. THEN WHY DID YOU SEND HIM TO ME? You sent untrained reps to me, told me items will be delivered and when it's not, say they aren't trained? If they would have been honest, I would have gone with someone else. You falsified your promises, took my money and caused us frustrated, emotional distress and time away from my son. She kept going on and on about how reputable and efficient the experience she had with Future Energy Savers, we had to check it out ourselves. We had them do systems at 2 homes within a few days. We had a rough start with scheduling and installation, last minute expecting us to be at the house with short notice and forgetting to call us to cancel the final inspection. Since we didn't finance they wanted payment in full before there was even a city final, which is not typical with construction work. On a good note though ~ the installers and layout guy were great. They left the home clean and neat. They were polite. The office staff are very helpful. Lastly, we believe our sales guy said we would never have to clean the panels because they are a new product but in our closeout meeting and subsequent document we were told to clean the panels every three months, so hopefully there isn't that much maintenance. Somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars in my view, as far as experience with the Future goes. Working with the company has been good overall, with a few hiccups. The lady (not mentioning names here, because I really don't remember them) who first stopped by canvassing the neighborhood was nice. Unlike so many others, she was friendly and very low pressure but convincing enough that meeting with a salesperson was worthwhile. The salesman was also nice and explained things well. He too was low pressure, though there was some push to decide quickly in order to get benefits of their Ambassador program, so we decided, with some hesitation, to go with them "on the spot." I cannot speak to Future's cost relative to other providers, but we were satisfied with what was offered, and with our typical monthly electrical cost VS what we will likely see later - so we went forward. Engineering went smoothly; the gentleman who came over to "design" the system based on our house's orientation relative to sun, shade from nearby trees, etc. was friendly and thorough. The company's communication and response to emails was great as well. Installation went pretty well - guys weren't particularly outgoing, but that's not a requirement. They were friendly enough and efficient. Two areas of the installation, though, were bothersome to me. Three City inspections were required, as the first two failed due to home grounding issues - themselves not the direct fault of Future but, that Future didn't have full grasp of city requirements resulted in delay, and in three grounding rods being pounded into the ground beside my home when one or perhaps two were all that should have been necessary. Communication between the field techs and the office also appeared to be a bit lacking, as the office didn't seem fully aware, to me, of the situation. The second issue was discovered more recently.....I was not aware, until I moved furniture the other day, that the location where the communication cable to my router was installed is almost 20" off the floor, and in a spot where, if the furniture were removed, or if a smaller piece was placed at the location, it would stick out like a sore thumb. Other nearby receptacles are centered about 9" off the ground. It beats me why they couldn't have, at a minimum, installed it at a more normal height. Perhaps I should have been more watchful during installation, but this simple detail should not need my oversight. We have not had time to see visible changes in cost, based on loan payment and PG&E rates, but I hope and expect they will be obvious after a year or so, given our home's exposure and shading. As for working with Future again from a service standpoint - yes I would probably do so, but I'd pay more attention to the details of their work and would be a bit more vocal about inspection delays. read more

We moved into our home a couple of years ago, and I immediately knew I wanted to get solar -- the house has a pool and we run the AC in the summer, so the PG&E bills were going to be astronomical. I spoke with a couple of solar companies that dismissed me out of hand because our roof is wood shake, and no one will install solar on that. Our roof doesn't need to be replaced anytime soon, so I figured solar was just out of the question for a while. Until a couple of months ago when a Future Energy Savers van was driving through the neighborhood. The guy knocked on the door, and I told him I would love to get solar except our roof was wood shake, fully prepared for him to just say goodbye and leave. But he said that they could work with me despite that. A couple days later, Dale came over and met with my husband and me to go over everything - they had a roofer that they partnered with that could replace the section of roof that the solar panels would sit on, and Future Energy Savers could roll the cost of the roof into the solar loan. The numbers penciled out even with the cost of the roof added in, so we decided to go for it. It took a few weeks to get the roofers out for the quote, and then a couple more to get them scheduled and obtain HOA approval, but the solar panels were installed in a day once we were ready to go. Cody handled the city inspection and met with us to go over the system maintenance and answer any questions we had. I've gotten one partial bill so far and it was much, much lower - even when adding in the loan payment. All in all, Future Energy Savers was a great company to work with. read more

First of all I don't think people should be posting reviews of this company's services when they didn't actually utilize them, but are just angry about their door-knocking salespeople. This company does not advertise, but instead relies on word-of-mouth and door-to-door knocking. We found them the latter way and have been pleased from start to finish despite a few issues arising during the installation phase. Why we recommend this company: (1) They are easy to get ahold of and communicate well (for the most part; we did have one hiccup I will describe later). (2) The installation timeline and savings they described at the sales call was pretty close to accurate. (3) They offer a production guarantee for 25 years (and since they've been in business for 40 years, having installed the first solar panels on the White House during the Carter Administration, we have reason to believe they will be around to honor it! (4) They installed top-of-the-line LG panels and a SolarEdge inverter built to last. (5) Financing through their bank was easy, competitively-priced and not tied to a lien on the property. (6) The installers did an excellent job, which alleviated my husband's concerns that the roof will leak. Additionally they will remove, store and re-install the panels when we need to replace the roof in 10-15 years for a small fee! The hiccup: The total hourly/daily production expected from our 5 kW system was not explained well. My husband and I both thought it would produce at least 4 kW/h at peak time of day (around 2:30 pm) and the system was not doing that right away. We spent some time discussing this with Kirk and he explained it wouldn't be that high due to energy lost due to DC to AC conversion. After some back and forth on this issue, Kirk acquiesced that our solar system was still not producing the expected amount and sent a technician out to replace the inverter. He was happy with the new inverter's production level at peak time of day and moved on to have the system installation approved by The City. It didn't pass the first time so they had to come back out to make an adjustment, but it was approved on the second go-around. The PG&E approval process was quick after that. Even with the hiccups around installation and permitting, we were up and running supplying power to the grid (and getting credit for it with PG&E) within 8 weeks of contract signing. One last thing I'd like to share that I wish I had been prepared for: They expected a response to join the Neighborhood Solar Ambassador Program the same night we met with Dale. I like to have time to research big decisions so this felt a little high pressure. That said, my husband and I are happy with our decision to move forward. Full disclosure: We did not shop around for the best price. For that reason I can not say whether we got a good deal. However, that wasn't our primary concern. We wanted a professional company that would do the best job for a reasonable price and be someone we would be easily able to get ahold of in the future should problems arise. Do not use this company. One of their 'sales' people came to my neighborhood and knocked on all of our doors. He knocked on my door even though I have a NO SOLICITING sign in clear view. I only answered because he was wearing a shirt that looked like a FedEx delivery person. When I answered I was immediately regretting it! He was so scripted that he refused to answer any questions and would not stop talking. I told him I wasn't interested a few times. Then he said well we will just give you a quote for later use. I said no. He then showed me several papers of neighbors around me who had signed up with him. These papers had names, numbers and addresses listed and also had little notes about he people that the person had made. He said 'don't worry I won't show yours to anyone'. I should have slammed the door in his face but he asked for my number to call me at a later date to discuss coming back out. I just wanted him to leave and for some reason didn't want to be rude (hindsight I should have been rude). I gave him my number and then he harassed me for my husband's number. He told me nobody would call for a while. Turns out he was a liar and some random calling agency called me the next day to make an appointment. I will be calling his company listed here to complain about his terrible customer service and I told all of my neighbors to not use him as he will give out their information freely. My husband and I attended the Cal Expo Home & Garden Show, where he stopped at their booth getting info. This is a first, as he never initiates a project! So yes, I was interested. We actually had solar in our first home some 20 years ago through a SMUD program. So, we were a little familiar with solar and the savings it provides. We made an appointment and met with Kevin, the Energy Consultant. He was very professional; personable and knowledgeable. He explained everything in detail, listened to us, answered questions and made us feel comfortable. Kevin was able to get the engineer to come out that same afternoon for the pre-site appointment since he was nearby in our area. Their whole office moved everything expeditiously, from phone calls, paperwork, installations and inspections. Mitchel was very helpful, staying in contact, sending the installers out for pre-inspections and even provided us with new smoke detectors. He walked us through turning on the system and then came out to make sure it was working properly since we were in the vicinity of the office. We have a 2-story home and our panels are on the back side of the lower level roof and on one side of the 2nd story roof. You don't even notice the panels from the front of our home. We're happy with our solar system and enjoy seeing our SMUD bill go down the last 3 months, from $113.81, $72.28, now $54.26! THANK YOU, Future Energy Savers!! read more

The original sales pitch was very good. We worked with Dale, who answered all of our questions and explained the process. However, once the account was turned over to the next person, things went downhill. There were several times that I made phone calls, and left messages for our account manager, Thomas, who NEVER called me back. Installation went well. Finally had our last 'walk through' meeting, but it was done over the phone. No one came back out to put house to show us anything on our system. VERY DISAPPOINTED. If I could go back and do it again, I would have checked through Costco's program first before jumping in to this one. read more

I have never received such a rude disrespectful call in my life! My husband and I were solicited by this company last year we made the appointment for an estimate for Solar that was going to be little or no cost to us. NOT THE CASE! The estimate was thousands of dollars which we declined, the man was for sure irritated that we were declining. It has been a year and I just revived a call from a no caller ID number I never answer those but I did and now wish I hadn't there very rude rep asked me if I remember having the estimate last year I replied yes she then proceeded to tell me about there new prices and such, I told her I was not interested! She replied WELL WHY? not that I owed her a response but I told her my husband was let go from his job 4 weeks ago and we were struggling, she then proceeded to call me honey and rudely proceeded to pressure me, I told her did you even here what I said your being rude and not listening to me! her tone changed to even more disrespectful! then she hung up on me. I immediately went online and get the Co. phone number called right back and no answer so I called right back from my home line immediate pick up SURPRISE! I asked to speak with a MGR. the girl that picked up said she was a Mgr. (doubt it) I explained what happened she took my name and said she would speak with the representative. EVEN IF I HAD THE MONEY I WOULD NOT USE THIS RUDE HIGH PRESSURE COMPANY, people are struggling to make there house payments and are living week to week and then have to deal with this kind of treatment. We got our 5kW system with battery installed last June. I had called for a quote and after an issue with getting our address relayed to the sales rep, we were able to reschedule and meet with Kevin. He was knowledgeable and friendly, we chose to go with a slightly smaller system then they were recommending, but with the more efficient LG panels. My only complaint during the sales process would be that he talked us out of putting down any down payment and said we should wait until we got back our tax credits and rebates. So this is 10+ months of paying interest on the total sales amount. Also they only work with one bank for financing and use the same interest rate for everyone regardless of credit (we feel with our credit we deserved a better rate and should have shopped to refi immediately before rates went up). Installation was pretty smooth except for a permit being filled incorrectly by the city which delayed us a few days. There was a hardware issue within the first few weeks, the batteries are very new technology. It was handled and we were back up and running within a couple weeks, but that meant paying peak charges for the electricity and still paying the payments on the solar, that smarted a little. Since then our system has been running great, all our panels are East/west facing since we have some trees on the south side. It works great during the summer when we avg 25-30kW/day, but during the winter we only see 6-9kW, but it works out since SMUD charged less during these months. Overall we are happy with the company's service. A lot of companies say they are the best about customer service but they don't know what it means. The good thing about this company is their employees, very professional, care about how you feel and take care things you have concerns. Solar is a big business and everyone wants to get in and make quick delicious cash. Many will sell what you don't exactly need and just for short-sighted relationship, I can feel this local company is trying not just bring you benefit but treasure the relationship with the customers. Very pleasant experience so far, from day one Mike came to our house and explain the detail then technical people measuring our roof and moving forward for financing and final Smud installed the net meter now the system is running great. I decided we were not ready to go solar, and told the guy to take me off their call list. I made the mistake of giving my real number and now I get repeat follow up calls from them at all hours. Do not waste your time! A man called my cell phone yesterday saying this company wanted to come out and speak to us about solar and a $10k tax rebate. We agreed they could come speak to us and scheduled them to show up today at 3pm. We have no idea how they got our phone number and the house they thought we lived at was a house we were renting a room in but moved out of 2 years ago. They claim we must have sent out interest in remodel or something (load of crap, haha we cannot remodel or put solar on a house we do not own). Anyways we still agreed to meet with them since we'd been thinking of looking into solar for our home. My husband got off work early so that he could be here to meet them at 3pm today. They never showed up and never called to say they wouldn't be here nor to reschedule. read more

Reliability and integrity. This company has neither. I was ambushed by two of their solicitors one day while doing yard work. I'd been looking into solar for my home, but DESPISE door to door salesmen. But, I decided to give them a shot anyway (against my better judgment ). I scheduled an appointment for 5:30 on a Thursday. At 3:30 that day, a man called to confirm the appointment. He said that I would be called again closer to the appointment time. Nobody ever showed. How much is your time worth to you? Mine's worth $70 an hour. Wasting my time costs me money. And it pisses me off. How reliable can they be if they can't make a consultation appointment? Looking at other reviews, though, I think I dodged a bullet. So, I guess I should say thanks. Until about a half hour ago, the incompetence stopped there. That's when I got a phone call from a young woman who wanted to talk to me about the benefits of going solar over the phone. She was pushy and talked over me (I don't like that). When I told her that I would no longer be requiring their services, she was pushy and asked why. Like she didn't already know. So, I told her. That's when she proceeded to make excuses and quasi blame me for the missed appointment. Integrity: doing the right thing for the right reasons, especially when nobody's looking. I have been thinking of going solar for about 3 years now. So when I was out doing yard work and they were canvassing the neighborhood, I got sucked into a quote. Dale came out and really took his time with me. I am the only one in the house, but I have a pool, so I pay for the pool pump to run and the normal lights and heater/AC. On a good month, I pay $90 for my bill and on a month with family here with the AC running, in the dead of summer, my bill is $176-$200. Knowing going solar would take a long time to pay itself off and this really would be an investment, I took the plunge with a 3 KW system. I am a cautious person, with a lot of questions and Dale always got back to me with answers. I think I called him about 4 times in one day and he was always patient and kind with me. Everyone I have dealt with at Future Energy Savers has been patient, kind, prompt, and nice to deal with. I will suggest a little better communication between all parties though and what all is involved in the ambassador program. There were a couple things that needed clarification, but it was in my paperwork! I went with Future Energy Savers b/c they have been around since 1978 and are still in business. The last thing I needed was for them to sell me solar and them go out of business-so this was a comfort to me. I'd like to give a shout out to Kirk (I hope it's not Kurt)! He communicated so well with me. I mentioned the communication piece to him and he made sure to take the time to call me to warn me that SMUD was getting ready for my last inspection. He also watched my house (b/c my gate had to be open for an inspection) and he was making sure nothing happened to my house while I was waiting for the inspection. When people are buying houses they see solar as an upgrade. So I asked myself, "why not upgrade your kitchen then?" The answer: it's not going to help pay itself off like saving on my electricity bill will. I was hesitant, but now I'm glad I did it. I'm looking forward to my savings. All-in-all this has been a good experience for me. It does take time from the first appointment till the 2 inspections and then for it finally to be turned on (a month or so). They got my installation done quickly though and Wade's crew was great! The only thing I would suggest doing is some shopping around for rates, but so far, I'm a happy camper! read more

As far as your business being word of mouth and referrals only.... I've continually been solicited by your door-to-door sales blitzes in my neighborhood. The husband and I had discussed solar for over a year and were recently eager to go with Solar as the City of Lodi is increasing its rates big time. We purchased our house 8 years ago and have had many door to door salespersons throughout the years. Honestly, the rep this time hit us on a good day and we allowed an appointment to be set up. From the beginning we told our sales rep that we will not continue if he bugged us daily or it was not a smooth relationship. I believe providing our expectations up front, stating we will call you when we are ready, Don't call us to check in and that we were comparing companies for some time helped the entire situation. He understood and after leaving our house we did not ever feel bugged. He did what we asked... Waited for us to call and it got him the sale... And us the panels . Then came install which presented a few bumps in the road... But when isn't there a bump in the road with anything in life these days?!?! The install team was great, friendly, worked hard and cleaned up after themselves. I was surprised at how quick it actually was to complete the install. Then the fun... Future Energy was not up to speed on the City of Lodi's very slow ways of processing paperwork, etc. as we were provided 3 different "how it will work" scenario. (1 from sales, 1 from install & 1 from the tech that handles the inspections). Basically it was a waiting game for City of Lodi to pass it and give the green light to turn it on. It kind of sucked having to wait a few weeks to use the actual system. But other than that, install went fine. I work in an office so having Future email me documents for signature, appointment times, etc made it very convenient for me to do business with them. The biggest frustration my husband and I have had with the whole process is needing to re-set the tracker regularly since it runs off of wi-Fi. Our signal is not the strongest ... but I'm sure once the kid moves to college and we have 4 less devices running off the Wi-Fi it will be just fine. Since we have had the panels installed, our electric bill has decreased dramatically! ! And... We received our $5k city rebate check too! Our experience with Future Energy has been pretty positive from beginning to present. We a had couple of cosmetic issues after the install but they promptly corrected them. Figuring out the new billing is a bit confusing but I'm sure if I needed help they would be there, but I think I can figure it out. The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is I still have them calling to set up an appointment to get a quote for solar, even though I have told them we already have solar with them. Solar rep Dale Groat, stop by my home on a cold call. I don't normally speak with solicitors but, on this day I allowed Dale to make his pitch. My average usage wasn't very high but, I decided to give a solar a shot anyway. As I understood, the costs/ payment on the new solar system would essentially average out to be the same amount I was paying PGE monthly. While working with the Future Solar staff I found them to be knowledgeable, professional and friendly. The process start to finish took about 4 weeks, and this included but, was not limited to the paperwork, installation, city inspections and PGE connectivity. Upon receiving my first full months PGE bill it appeared for the same period from last year, to be an estimated reduction of $140.00. However, the Net Energy Meting (NEM) charges appear to have accrued for this month and showed a balance of $80.32. So, I believe the real tell tell story regarding the cost savings will be more apparent once I receive the "true-up" bill in July 2020. I am looking forward to seeing what my overall costs/ savings will be once I receive my true-up bill from PGE in July 2020. read more
