The back up battery directly in the sun
    Marsha K.

This review is long overdue for our experience with Future Energy. We used them with the solar installation from our previous home and decided to use them with our new home. Briana, our salesperson eagerly sold us a system that was undersized and we have had extremely HIGH, up to $1000.00 true up bills. We explained to her that we have not lived in this home for a year, so we did not have accurate representations of our energy usage, now that we have a pool. She said she could estimate based on our day to day usage. We use the AC very conservatively, only use it when it is beastly hot. She sold us a 6KW system with a battery back up generator. She swore that with the battery, we would have a non-existent true up bill. After our first true up bill of over $1892.15!!! Our next bill was $1311.22 and our current true up is 1181.91--see pictures for proof. We had high true up bills with a battery backup--how can that be??? We contacted them because we had an issue with our battery and inquired upon the high true up bills. They referred us to Rob Heckendorn--the GM and he inspected our bills. He later said our system was undersized and he would happily install more panels... like kinda our fault but oh well. They send out another solar company without our consent to look at our battery issue. Now just to inspect our battery, the other company was asking for payment even though we did not contract them and our battery had a warranty. We decided to just go with another solar repair person and he stated the back up battery should not be outside in the direct sunshine, the heat will ruin the digital panel. My husband had to put a piece of cardboard to protect it. Please see pictures... I had reached out on their social media pages my experience and they have deleted my comments and blocked me on from saying our truth. We did say we would give an honest review on what crooks they are!! They have horrible customer service and will sell you all the great things that solar has to offer, but once you have an issue--they will outsource the job. I do NOT recommend them and urge you to go for another honest, reputable company.

Future Energy Saver installed Solar & Battery Back-up. We did our research over the last year. The decision to choose Future Energy Saver was a wise choice. We knew we wanted Generac, and are we pleased as ever. The Sales Rep Briana at our request returned after the initial meeting so we could discuss the offer, no pressure sales. We decided to do the whole house once we rescheduled to proceed with the contract. A few weeks to get HOA approval and SMUD paperwork and we are now installed. Our installation Experts, Delvin, Connor & Kai were extremely professional and very knowledgeable and what a clean job. The walk through at the end of the Install was very important and Devin took his time in making sure we had all of our questions answered. We are very Happy from start to finish with the Service and product. I recommend this company for Roofing and Solar. Good value for a good product.

Horrible way to conduct business! They disregard No Soliciting signs! I pointed that out to the salesman, and he still tried to solicit me. Look at other reviews. Same story.

Local company where someone will get back to you. Had 2 phases 1st phase was 19 panels + full battery backup compartment 2nd phase 22 panels Total 41 LG panels Loved the professional install and how clean everything was ran. Avg daily solar generation when weather is about 75 is 82-88 kWh/day. All depends on your placement and roof pitch.

Well I was hoping to be able to not have to do this. We had Five Star Solar install our solar…read moresystem in October 2024. Less than 2 years ago. They have been back out to correct POOR workmanship issues I believe 5 times now in less than 2 years. One of the times they tried to tell me it was my HVAC system causing the circiut breaker to trip. This cost me over $250.00 on changing parts of my HVAC system that did not correct the problem of the Solar circuit breaker tripping. I called them out and they tried to charge me $245.00 for the service call which i declined. When they get here they found it was indeed incorrectly installed components they did causing the problem. Now I am out $275.00 and solar production during that week. Now 2 weeks ago my HVAC system stopped working. 3 days no AC in triple digit temps here in the Easy Bay area during that time. I spend another $350.00 on HVAC components that still do not repair system. I decide to check thier installation of the wiring for my HVAC system and what I found was astonishing. They installed INCORRECT gauge wire in my HVAC circuit and that caused what appears to be a fire in the box they installed on the side of my house and almost caused my house to catch fire (see pictures). I called the owner direct and left a nasty message, Never got a call back from him, he has another person call me and had a tech out that day to repair the system and install CORRECT size wire in circuit. The owner Dustin tried to make excuses saying it was a failed connector. In the picture you can clearily see the wire that is smaller than the original it is melted. It has been a week since and no call from owner about this, no appoligy, no offer to make this right, and I am out the money spent on my HVAC. But wait it gets better. The system they stated would work for my home is TOO SMALL! When the HVAC system and ceiling fans are on during a sunny day, the system panels only produce between 4.2 kwh and 4.6kwh. My system is drawing 5.2kwh to 5.7kwh, now this is not at night when inside lights are on just during the day with HVAC and a few ceiling fans on. SO basically my batteries do not get charged during the day because it does not produce enough to power to power the home and charge the batteries. I allowed them to determine the size system I needed. What good is $10K worth of batteries if they cant get charged during the day. Oh another thing, they tell you they offer referal money to you if you refer someone to them. DO NOT HOLD YOUR BREATH. It has been close to 2 years and no referal money to my friend that refered me, he has called them about it and they keep blaming it on someone else in the company but no money has been given.

The service technician Christian arrived on time and courteously introduced himself and his service procedure. He used a handheld meter to measure pressures and other important data about the unit's performance. He showed me the results on his meter: a loss of pressure, probably because of a coolant leak. He laid out my options and answered my questions. After getting my approval, he replaced the missing coolant and added a dye kit that would help find the leak. He also mentioned the dye kit included a sealant that might close up any small leaks. After adding the coolant and dye kit, the HVAC unit quickly brought interior temperatures down. Short-term problem solved. Christian explained that AirMech offers a maintenance plan that I should consider. It pays for regular inspections and provides a 15% discount on the work he had just completed. I opted in. The money I saved that day will more than pay for a whole year of the maintenance plan. A couple weeks later, I called AirMech again to have them inspect the lines to look for leaks. Christian was my man again. He arrived bright and early and performed a visual check in the attic. Then he hooked up his meter to the outdoor HVAC unit. He showed me the results and interpreted them for me: all readings are in the "ideal" range. It looks like the dye kit with sealer did its job. And because I had opted into the maintenance plan, there was no charge for the visit. Long-term problem solved. AirMech's staff operated with professionalism and integrity. I will call on them for my future HVAC needs. And I hope I get Christian again!
