Good, Solid Tacos - Not Quite Fantastic... I swung by Fuzzy's Tacos in Grapevine recently, looking for a casual bite, and it largely hit the spot. My service was good, there was a new guy on the register and he did a nice job, emperor being new. The kitchen prepared my meal fairly quickly. I opted for the Grilled Shrimp Tacos, and they were definitely good. The shrimp were well-cooked and flavorful, and the overall combination of ingredients was enjoyable. They were a bit over-powered by the garlic sauce they put on the taco, but that's just my taste. Along with that, I got the Queso and Chips The queso was a bit thin but still satisfying, and the chips were perfectly crisp for dipping. Everything I tried was pretty tasty and well-prepared. It's a solid choice for a quick, satisfying taco fix. However, I wouldn't go as far as to say anything was "fantastic." They were good, dependable, and I'd certainly return for another meal, but they didn't quite reach that "wow" level for me. If you're in the area and craving some casual, quality tacos, Fuzzy's is a reliable bet.

Bunch of broken chips. Broken just like my heart over the sub quality food

The only good thing about this place today was the service. We were looking for something quick that served margaritas. The margarita was terrible, like I couldn't drink it. Can you screw up queso? Yep, they did. Bland, like no seasoning my whatsoever: The prices have gone up and the quality has reached a new low. I should have read my own review.

We have come here quite a few times for some quick fish tacos and a beer or the impressive grilled shrimp salad . . . and a beer; what is really impressive about this location is the management. Yesterday we met the general manager working the register, greeting the customers and taking orders left and right. He took orders, poured beers, checked on the kitchen, and went around ensuring all the tables were picked up and clean. Not a COVID thing, either - he did this before. Our chips were stale - he intercepted me on my way to the kitchen window and asked if there was an issue. I told him there was, what it was, and he immediately set out to fix it. He went back in the kitchen and found me a fresh new batch of chips that h himself tried out for freshness. No rudeness, no rolling of the eyes - just what is the problem, and let me make it right. Damned impressive, especially nowadays. As for the beer - ice cold. Food - delicious. It is a Fuzzy's, it is a chain, but the service here sets it up a notch.

In search of a great taco shop and this was a miss. Ladies at the cash register are nice but the food is lacking flavor and volume. If you take an order to go, hot sauce is extra. I'm still in search of that great taco shop with great homemade salsa and hot sauce.

The food was fantastic, our whole table enjoyed our dinner and drinks. What really made it 5 stars: the workers. They were so incredibly patient and kind to my overtired child. She was exhausted and on the brink of a meltdown. One of the staff members went to the crane game and won a stuffed animal for my daughter. She brought it over and completely changed my kiddos mood. She spent the rest of the night holding it and taking pictures with it. This woman completely turned our dinner around. I didn't catch her name but she had colored hair and gauges. Absolutely fantastic service, some of the best I've ever had.

I've always loved Fuzzy's tacos and they have great taco specials. Their margaritas are the BEST!!! I would visit each and every Thursday to get my fix. There is nothing much to say about Fuzzy's, it's just a great spot to eat tacos and grab a margarita, literally !!!

Practically no queso. I feel like i paid $10 for soggy chips.

These dudes skimped me HARD on my nachos. Thankfully i ordered a side of queso. I paid extra for sour cream and refried beans, and they put less queso than sour cream. Not what i would call nachos. Not very much shredded chicken either. NACHOS SHOULD NEVER LOOK NAKED!!!

I arrived during the lunch rush, and both the parking lot and the restaurant were packed. Even though they were extremely busy, we were immediately greeted by a courteous and polite young man who quickly escorted us to a booth. We were seated in Ms. Maria's section, and she was a wonderful server. She greeted us with a warm smile, brought us menus along with the lunch menu, chips and salsa, and promptly served our water. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and was friendly, attentive, and very courteous throughout our meal. The chips and salsa were very good. My only suggestion would be to offer a salsa without cilantro for those who prefer it. We ordered the Create Your Own Combo Plate, which included a chicken flauta, a crispy taco, rice, and refried beans topped with cheese for $15.50. The taco was perfectly crispy and well seasoned, while the chicken flauta was covered in a flavorful red chile sauce that had just the right amount of heat. The rice and refried beans were seasoned perfectly and complemented the meal well. We also ordered the chimichanga, smothered in cheese sauce and served with rice and refried beans, for $16.00. It was well seasoned, delicious, and satisfying. The flavors weren't overpowering--they were balanced and enjoyable, making it a dish I would gladly order again. This was my first visit to Mi Dia From Scratch, and I came away very impressed. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and the restaurant also offers a nice outdoor seating area. Between the excellent service and flavorful food, I will definitely be back. I hope you'll give it a try too!

This was literally the worst food experience I have ever had. I can almost guarantee the reviews are fake. Salsa: Literally packaged tomato paste. If you are going to serve packaged salsa, at least use store-bought instead of warmed-up tomato sauce. Chicken Enchiladas Verdes: Rated one of their most popular items, and it was disgusting. If that chicken were any drier, you could weave it into polyester. It was overcooked, packaged meat. Brisket Quesadillas: Absolutely revolting. Mesa's is just a few minutes drive from Gaylord so it is super convenient. The ambience is pleasant and open and in general it was fine. The restaurant was clean with plenty of seats and parking outside. I did not get a "homey" feel but that may be just me. Our server was attentive and efficient. No problems or complaints. The free chips and salsa were good but not outstanding. The salsa was warm and obviously homemade, but it lacked kick. It was tasty but not "OMG this is good." I started with a cup of Roberto's queso which is the standard queso cheese with some ground beef, pico, and a tablespoon of guacamole. It too was good but not outstanding. I am not sure what it was missing but there was something that was needed. I had the two beef tacos and they were just average. Not much flavor or anything distinctive. The ground beef was not well seasoned so they were kind of bland. The rice and black beans were also kind of bland. Frankly, my tacos at home are better. The wife had the taco salad and liked it, although it did not come with any dressing. She used the salsa. Not sure if that was an oversight or that is the way the salad is served. She was also happy that they serve Negro Modelo on tap, so she was happy. The kid had nachos with black beans and cheese and did not complain. Overall, the meal was fine, nothing was terrible, but nothing really stood out as a compelling reason to return.

Such was the case recently when we paid a visit to Mesa. The first order of business was getting an appetizer to go with the chips and salsa. Upon the server's recommendation we got the queso Blanco. It was quite possibly the blandest queso I have ever eaten. At this point I started to worry that it was a sign of things to come. However, the extra spicy salsa that we also requested to go with the chips was more flavorful and gave me hope for the entrees. The good news is that my chicken and cheese enchiladas turned out to be better than the insipid appetizer. The not so good news is that it was still a mediocre meal. The rest of my family had mixed feelings about their food. My husband, who got 2 beef enchiladas, said his were overly salty but otherwise average. The bacon wrapped shrimp that my mother got were a little overcooked but she liked the sides. Both of my sons' entrees, the Mesa burrito and the chicken strips, were very well received. People like to say that even when pizza is bad it's still good. For me, that also applies to Tex-Mex. But, considering the plethora options out there, I doubt I will be returning anytime soon.

Yet, for the longest time, Baja Mex Grill did just that by serving the strongest margaritas in town. In fact, I had always heard that there was a limit of 2 per person. Although it may have only been a rumor, it was a good policy nonetheless (I speak from experience!) Even if margaritas weren't your thing, the food still held it's own. Basically, you couldn't go wrong with a visit here no matter your preferences. I don't know exactly when or how many times the ownership changed over the years, but apart from the name, nothing about this place is the same today. It was immediately evident upon being served chips and queso that both seemed like they came straight from a package. The extra hot salsa we requested turned out to be a creamy, green concoction that had a jalapeno-y flavor, but somehow still wasn't spicy. I will give them credit, however, for a very tasty regular salsa that appeared to be made in house. For my entree I ordered the Picante Enchiladas. Contrary to what the name implies there was no detectable heat. Furthermore, the grilled chicken on top had the distinct flavor of a frozen version made by Kroger. Once again, that prepackaged element reared it's ugly head. My husband and sons were mostly underwhelmed by their meals as well. The phrase "I've had better" was echoed around the table. And, they aren't normally a picky bunch! Our server brought everything out quickly, checked on us often, and kept our drinks topped up throughout our meal. So kudos to him! I have said this before, but it bears repeating. The Tex Mex arena is far too competitive for mediocre food like they serve here. It's a shame that a place I once considered to be 4-5 star establishment barely earns 3 stars now.
