Fortunately, we met Ivan at Chable's Concrete who was an absolute delight to work with. He showed up on time for our appointment, offered us several great solutions for our challenging backyard (which is narrow, and slightly sloped), and promptly sent an estimate. He understood our plan that seemed puzzling to other companies. When we made changes, it was no problem. Ivan came by the next day to measure, finalize the design, and answer any other questions we had. He scheduled our installation the following week. Day one of our project, Ivan and Rodger excavated, leveled the site, and laid the forms. Day two, he poured cement and created a beautiful custom patio design. Ivan and Jenni were so communicative and personable. They made this project effortless. Their pricing was fair and reasonable. And what we agreed to is what we paid. Then Tom showed up saying "my fence guy wants to do a wood/wire fence instead...he says it will still match your existing fence." I asked about price adjustment, he said it was more expensive but he wouldn't charge anything. This was a horrible decision. Fence looks like a middle school project. It took me a month to finally get Tom (owner) to come out. Stain was not complete, rough cuts were left as-is, latch didn't latch. When he finally came out, he had a ton of excuses. He "fixed" the latch by inserting a piece of wire to jimmy the latch. Told my wife that "the stain just looks different in the sun and it's completely stained (it's not). Told her the rough cuts and ripped/frayed edges were normal (I was out of town). I asked him to come back when I was home, it took almost two weeks to get him back. He told me the same, when I confronted him about the wire piece "fix" he said "not me". Said rough cuts/frays "can be filed but will change the look of the fence". I told him I wanted the fence re-stained and to have his office contact me with a date so I could be home. That was 2 months ago. I'm simply chalking it up to "shame on me for this choice" and doing the fix myself.

The crews who worked on the project were super friendly, paid attention not to disrupt the front yard landscaping and were just amazing workers in all sorts of winter weather. I put down the 50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit and a week later I texted to see if there was a date, it took her 2 days to respond saying "we're trying to fast-track it and get it worked into the schedule, but probably 3rd week of May. I'll be back in touch next week". (what???) Two weeks later (May 4) I texted and asked where we were since we now had our new puppy and that was what the project was for. She told me "we are starting two projects tomorrow and you are next in line". Two weeks after that (May 15), she texted and said "Excited to start your project, will contact you June 8 to let you know start date" (WHAT???) I questioned everything, as she did nothing but "sell" me on a false timeline, never contacted me like she said she would, came up with a myriad of excuses and lies and then told me "landscaping isn't like putting in a door where you can keep a firm schedule" (I get that, but we are now 4 weeks after the deposit, and no hope to know a schedule for another 3 weeks at least!) Then she tried to justify her lies again with "unforeseen waterlines and locates on other jobs but will purchase your materials today so we can get started if something comes available" (wait, you have my money and still haven't purchased my materials?) I said I wanted to cancel since nothing had been purchased and it had been 5 weeks with still no hope for a start date for at least 3 more weeks. After another round of emails they finally agreed to return my deposit (so it's really not NON-REFUNDABLE, as stated on their bid), I told her that with all of the outright lies I had no confidence in them being able to do my job correctly. She had the nerve to tell me that she was insulted by that! By the way...we contracted with another company to do the work, paid a bit more, but have all the locates done already and a firm start date and estimated completion date. I'm sure the workmanship would have been acceptable, but the constant lies caused me to lose faith in the company.

I believe Eduardo is the superintendent. Once Wendy determines what the job is going to be, it gets turned over to Eduardo. He and his work crew are some of the most professional, kind, and caring people I've ever worked with. They were courteous and efficient, and their work is truly beautiful. In fact, it's beyond what I imagined: unbelievable craftsmanship. Having completed two projects with Boulder Falls, I want to share a helpful tip for others: It's incredibly important to be very thorough about what you want and go over all the paperwork together. It's easy during conversations to form expectations, while the other person may hear or interpret something a little differently. It's no one's fault; it's just something that could happen if details aren't clearly defined in writing. that being said, I have zero complaint at all. I'm just saying if you're a person like me that does a lot of visualizing and then verbal communication. Make sure that what you're seeing in YOUR head is also what you are conveying accurately to your rhetorical audience which in this case was {BFL} or a CAN become frustrating for the company trying to meet your expectations. It's also good if you can ahead of time know exactly what you want with this company because they are in demand, and very busy. I did frustrate Wendy a couple of times because I changed my mind with a few things along the way, and it set back their SUMMER timeline. However They did not complain to me about it, but I could tell. So, I found that its better if you know what you want and then go forward, but they worked with me and their work was outstanding. That said, I would absolutely recommend Boulder Falls 1000%. Their work is fabulous, and Eduardo's and his crew are top-notch at what they create. To be honest with you I was quite disappointed when the project was over because I looked so forward to seeing the team coming every day. They are such a pleasant experience that I hope you too get to enjoy!

The management even came out a week later to inspect to make sure that everything was in order and that they did in fact clean up properly. The price was quite reasonable as well. The only negative was, we had to wait a long time for them to begin. But I guess that just speaks of their popularity. Indeed. A great company and I'd wait for them again next time I need roof done.

Their guy went and climbed around our roof, did some poking and prodding, and came back down and said, "Well, I can sell you a new roof, but you don't need one for a good 10 years or more!" He showed photos of our roof vs bad roofs, he gave detailed info, it was fantastic. We would have had no idea if he had just decided that we "needed" a new roof. I sincerely hope they're around in another decade when we do replace the roof on our new home!
