We quickly determined they would be our primary mechanic due to their old school work ethic. Keep it up and you will have this client for life.

We would like to share our personal review of a local auto repair shop located in Hockley…read more Please consider avoiding INNOVATIVE CAR CARE located on 2920 in Hockley. This will be a long post, but I'll try to sum it up. Long story short they dont honor warranties on their work and lie about things needing be replaced. We initially brought my daughter's truck in for a new transmission. Shortly after the transmission was replaced, it began to leak fluid extensively. It appeared to require another rebuild. Not long after that, the transmission failed again and needed to be replaced once more. We then took it to a different shop because Innovative declined to honor the warranty. When we retrieved the truck after after one of the stays at Innovative, we observed that all the fuel was gone, despite the tank being full when we dropped it off. We initially wondered if we were mistaken and simply made a mental note. During the period of the transmission issues, we also experienced problems with the air conditioning and requested that they examine it. We invested several thousand dollars to have virtually the entire system replaced. Upon picking up the truck this time, for some reason, the engine brake had ceased functioning after the work they performed. Two years later, the air conditioning failed again. We returned it, assuming the parts would still be under warranty. However, they informed us there was no warranty and that the condenser and Schrader valve needed replacement. We paid nearly a thousand dollars for this service, and they declared it ready. We collected the truck, and the air conditioning worked for two days before failing again. We brought it back, and they promised to provide an update the same day. Two days passed without any communication. Finally, we received a call stating that the compressor and evaporator core needed to be replaced, and these parts were also not under warranty, with an additional cost of $1200. Naturally, I questioned these claims. We contacted three other shops for a second opinion, and they all advised us to return to the original shop, as all those parts should have a lifetime warranty. We then called O'Reilly, as the representative at Innovative stated they had an account there and did not receive a lifetime warranty on parts. When O'Reilly was contacted, they confirmed that their parts do indeed carry a lifetime warranty. When they were confronted with this and point blank asked where they were buying their parts they stated "several places, which ever place is the cheapest". Furthermore, on each occasion my daughter needed to retrieve something from the truck at the shop, it was found unlocked and parked near the road (2920). When we brought this to their attention, their response was that "no one ever comes up here." During this period, we had them replace the water pump, which unfortunately failed again shortly after its replacement. We returned it for another replacement, only to experience a similar issue. The third time, my husband replaced the pump himself, and we have not encountered any problems since then. I have reviewed their reviews, and it appears this may be a recurring concern. It seems improbable that every single component replaced two years ago would require replacement again. This establishment appears to be engaging in deceptive practices.

If you want to pay a shop a ridiculous amount of money and still leave with the same problem, Sun…read moreAuto is your place! I paid $1,100 for Sun Auto to replace my Mass Airflow Sensor. The check engine light went off at first, but it came right back on the next day. When I brought it back, they told me I now need to go to Nissan for programming. Call me old school, but if I'm paying $1,100, I expect the problem to be solved, not passed on to someone else. It's disappointing to spend that much and still have to go elsewhere to finish the job.

Took our mostly new 2020 BMW in for an oil change on 8/4/2023 and they "claimed" that the previous…read moredealership oil change messed up the bolt on the drip pan. Mind you, we had no leaks or engine oil warnings before we went in. They said the bolt was too tight and they could not turn it (total nonsense) so they turned us away. Today I pull the car out and there is oil all over my garage floor. After calling, they again "claimed' it was already leaking which is absurd because if it were leaking this badly the engine light would have come on probably within 48 hours and the last oil change was in 2022! EDIT: I went to another mechanic on 8/5/2023 and am attaching an image that they found my drain plug was stripped, which is what is causing the leak. Also they said at the rate it is leaking there would have been no oil left had this stripped bolt happened even a week ago, so no SUN Auto, my dealership did not cause this issue. Your techs stripped the bolt due to incompetence and negligent behavior! STAY FAR AWAY!!!!

The swap…read moreand turbo work itself was done elsewhere (didn't know about him in our car community prior to the work I had done or I would've unquestioningly had him do every single thing); Hindsight is always 20/20. That said, I was made aware of Armand through many others and I've spoken to him a number of times over the years looking for advice. He has faithfully and unfailingly been generous with his time and in turn I've purchased some of his custom equipment . He would be the only shop I'd bring the car to for anything (from oil changes to, well, everything) but he refuses to uproot to Chicagoland or open a branch locally so we here are forced to live in the 2.5 swap (and turbo) desert of the Great Lakes Region. Selfish? Perhaps. Frustrating? Absolutely. Regardless, if you're looking for quality service, parts, and extreme in-depth knowledge then this is my go to. This business and customer service model is a stellar example of how to run a company as well as retain and expand your client base on word of mouth alone. Thanks, Armand, for everything you and your people do for our community and if I have to ship my car off again for upgraded improvements then without pause it's going to you.

The owner; Armand, is a freaking genius and excessively picky about even the finest details. And he's honest and will give you the good or bad news without any hidden agenda. Why? Because he has integrity that isn't for sale . That's something that is lacking at so many shops.
