Been to a lot of bars in my day. No question, this is the worst yet. The customer service is terrible, and frankly that is an understatement. For starters, the bouncer at the door tried to convince me to go to a different bar, saying things like the crowd inside wouldn't mesh well with me. This confused and offended me very much. He let me in though, and right away I went to the bar. As soon as I get to the counter, the bartender makes eye contact with me. I smile and say hi, the bartender doesn't acknowledge me and helps another customer. I wait, wait, and wait. After about 10 minutes, no joke, possibly longer, the bartender asks me what I want. Doesn't smile or anything. Just sternly asks me what I want. I say a PBR, and, no joke again, about 5 minutes later I get it. I'm hanging out, sipping on my beer near the pool tables, minding my own business. All of sudden a couple men that were playing pool approach me and say if I don't leave after my beer they couldn't guarantee I'd me safe that night. This scared the crap out of me. That very instant, I put down my barely touched beer and quickly left. Never in a million years would I recommend this place to anybody, and, in fact, I will go out of my way to make sure nobody I know supports this place. I only come here when my friends play (live music) here, however, each time I come I remember why I hesitate to come back. First of all, getting into the bar you feel as if you are trying to get into the White House. I've had friends who have had to leave their purses at the door because the security guards said they were too big (?), leaving them less secure (HA! irony) and open to the public. Secondly, the ratio of security guards to customers is crazy. They wear bullet proof vests, and all-knowingly scold customers the instant they place a beer in an inappropriate spot or step in the wrong place. Once, they literally screamed at someone who had stepped onto a bench (yeah, I get that's against the rules...), but screamed! I thought the man that yelled had PTSD or something until I learned he was just another all-knowing security guard. Once, I had gone to the bathroom, and when I tried to come back to the patio (where all of my friends were) and they had said they closed it (~20 min before bar close, yes) with a security guard blocking the entrance to the patio. I was alone, and closed off from all of my friends, and here was this "security guard" making me feel like a child, at 30 years old. Also, A bottle of beer is $7, and the mixed drinks taste like shit. And the security guards are racist. read more

Okay let me preface by saying some of the staff here are great and friendly guys, especially the security guys. HOWEVER this place smells like SHIT literally they have occasional problems with their sewage system and the smell backs up into the entire place to the point where i want to puke as soon as i enter the place, when this happened I was trying to figure out what was going on and I asked the blonde bimbo with the uppity bad attitude bartender what the smell was and she simply states "oh its the sewer" with a smile, as if it is normal, and does not apologize or anything. We just left. You have been warned. They do support local music and ill go here once in a great blue moon if my friends band is playing but you better believe im praying before i go that on particular night, the sewer is not backed up. Just had the Grilled Cheese Margherita. Delicious! Had Avocado added and subbed the fries for tater tots. Strawberry Soda, Ginger Ale, and Rootbeer available in addition to more regularly available sodas. Watched the Niners/Saints game on one of their beautiful 55" LED Samsungs that they have in the front dining room/stage area. In the back there are dart machines, pool tables, and an assortment of classic arcade games. There's also a back bar that is used on busier nights. I was a fan of the old G Street, but I have to say that I am very happy with the fact that the old bathrooms were torn down. The new bathrooms are AWESOME! Great whiskey and scotch selection. Rotating seasonal beers on tap along with staples like Budweiser, Coors Light, Pabst and Olympia. I may be a little biased because I work here, but I encourage you to come in and give it a try for yourself. read more

We visited this place for the first time on 01.23.12. The place is a dive. Not to mention the "cowboy" dress code only. The bar has more lights than a stadium. You'll need your sunglasses for this dive. While we sat at a unoccupied table a cowboy came up to us to tell us to vacate the table because he and his dyed blonde were there first. However, no one was at the table. I and my friend told him to take a hike and that made the little cowboy pissed. He threaten us with harm but once the shit-head understood that we had attorneys (relatives) that could rip a new A-Hole into him. He backed off. The place has a Neo-Nazi environment mixed in with the wanna be cowboys. Don't waste your time patronizing this dive. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. So my friends and I went to this bar last night and mostly kept to ourselves. This white man threw insults at a couple of my friends and the staff here thought the best way to deescalate the situation was to kick us out for being offended. Then after we got kicked out the same white man SPIT at us while we were outside trying to get our ride situation figured out. They had checked it out when we first got there. This place is honestly creepy... Lots of weird old men harassing my friends and I the one time I came. Staff doesn't do much to prevent this because they are "regulars", so stick to woodstocks across the street if you want a place that is safe for students!
