Although I love G street during funk nights on Wednesdays, I have to say I am really disappointed with the bartender's service Sunday night. It was my friend's 21st birthday and she totally took away the "good time" that we wanted to have because of some personal problem she might of been having that day or whatnot. She never smiled or even said happy birthday to my friend. She had a glum, annoyed look about her and I hope she doesn't bartend on the weekends or in Wednesdays because they will not be getting a lot of money. We stopped in for a couple of beers. March Madness was on the giant projector screen as well as 6 other TVs. They are now serving Smokin Ewe bbq too. This bar is okay. It was kind of toasty when we got inside, which is good because it was cold outside. They have a good amount of pool tables and arcade games. Not a bad place at all! Easygoing staff, decent happy hour prices, pool tables/darts available too. This is Davis people, what are you expecting? You want a posh/upscale bar, that's the next city over. Granted, we've been here quite a lot already, and have gotten to know the bar/people pretty well. There are times when it gets too crowded. The $20 cc minimum is also irritating. But if you give it time, this place will grow on you, like the rest of Davis. G Street Wunderbar is my go-to haunt on any night of the week. It has a great ambience with dancing and higher energy on one side of the bar and a more relaxing vibe around the pool tables. Despite the crowds the bartenders are always friendly and quick to serve you. In fact I mentioned that I was a designated driver when I was out one night and the bartender gave me a free non-alcoholic drink! Since then I've learned that they are part of the RADD program that works with bars to provide incentives for DD's. It is great to know that not only is G Street an incredibly fun space but also supports its customers. read more

Came here for cheap jager bombs one night. It was a Thursday I believe, but not particularly full. I was pretty buzzed by the time we had said jager bombs but they were quite good and came in an interesting glass. The crowd is...interesting but wouldn't deter me from coming in for drinks. They do seem to have a large variety of drinks at reasonable prices, although I think this is more of a place to stop by, grab a drink, and bounce, especially if you want to dance. read more

Fantastic food, specials and one of the few places in town you can still play old school video games and shoot some pool (there are tournaments held every week). They also have some fancy whiskey and other high end beverages if you're looking to celebrate. Large projector screen for any of the games with like 5 or 6 additional flat screens (with several different games on if people want to watch different sports) around the bar and in the game area. There is also a back bar for better and quicker service and an outside patio to have a smoke. As a regular I know that the staff can be extremly friendly and a bunch of real great people. Just make sure you treat them well and with respect and they will most definitely return the favor. read more

This place is the pits. Bouncers/security are agressive to everyone regardless of how you're acting or what you're doing. Had a security gaurs tell my party they they were moving tables to open up area in 15 minutes, sure no problem that makes sense and nice to get a heads. Then another one came over a minute later and told us abruptly to clear out. Rude and annoying since we were just given 15 minutes. But fine we moved. As we moved a bouncer told us that whoever had a backpack couldn't have it inside after a certain time. We had just bought a round of beers and when I mentioned this the bouncer said, "well you have 4 minutes". Great, so you want us to chug our drinks then? I asked if we could put the bag behind the bar or somewhere and the guy said no, they could put it outside. This is a college town, some people carry bags after school/work. Trying to force people to chug drinks or leave their valuables outside without any prior warning is lame and I won't give these people any of my money. I can find dumpy dive bars anywhere, with staff that are chugging their energy drinks to stimulate their power trips read more

I bought 2 beers(4 bucks each) and left my credit card here over night and ended up with a ~$40 charge in the morning.. This place has the nerve to add 20% gratuity to EACH item on the bill, charged me about $7 for an "overnight fee" for leaving my card there... and on top of all this billed me for 2 $11 cocktails i never ordered. They used the excuse "o sorry man, i wasn't the one working last night so i cant do anything" and then had the nerve to argue with me and tell me they couldn't do anything unless i proved i didn't the drinks. I filed a fraud report with my credit company the next day. Apparently a lot of other people have had the same problem with this place doing the same thing and taking advantage of people who leave their cards over night so i was luckily awarded back the money a few days later. This place is beyond sleazy and shady and wont hesitate to take advantage of their customers the first chance they get. Stay away from this place if your in Davis. read more

Upon entering I was man handled by the bouncer and then they proceeded to rip my friends ID in half who was visiting from another state. when we called the next day they refused to give her ripped ID back and said that she had the chance to call the police that night if she wanted to. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Walked in on a slow night (and by slow I mean no more than 30 people in this sorry place) and asked the bartender how much a pitcher costs. So the bartender (6 foot tall bald black dude) probably the shittiest bartender on earth. Who knows maybe he just had a stick up his ass that night. Although he seemed like the type to go home and personally shove it in just so he gets a good nights sleep. Anyways, he tells me and my buddy that they range from 8 to 22 dollars. So out of curiosity I ask which beer was 22 dollars and continue to ask him why and where it's from and so on, only because I am genuinely interested and would like to know more about this beer. (I'm a big time beer drinker and have tried hundreds of beers from around the world) he refuses to answer any questions and says "well you're obviously not getting that one so let's move on, what do you want?" I kindly responded "you're a bartender you should be able to answer my questions" then this uptight clit pimple wants to tell me he's not serving me and that he will tell the back bar not to serve me either. I think the bar could do a better job picking bar tenders. There has to be attractive people around Davis who give a shit about their job and don't want to be some cock smoking uncle Lester look alike behind a bar who couldn't explain the difference between a lager and an IPA if his life depended on it. I Love this bar. Heres the scoop... this WAS the local dive bar. Now that its under new ownership and has been completely renovated it looks fantastic and has a real pub feel (RIP gpub) BUT more importantly the alcohol. They have the best beer selection and the owner (who is always happy to speak with patrons) told my wife and I he gets new beers every month to keep a fresh selection. Like whiskey or scotch? NOBODY I mean nobody in town has the selection the Wunderbar has. Lets not forget this is the ONLY bar in town with pool tables and a bunch of awesome oldschool video games. Check out DJ Larry on Wednesdays it seems like every night there is something going on there from trivia to dancing. The bartenders are more that helpful and attentative and the bouncers are friendly unlike everywhere else (unless your a total loser and get bounced ha ha). Food is great (ask about Wunderballs) the sliders will blow your mind. They do this bacon blue cheese slider ....off the hook definitely a must. Really the only good place in town . read more

So to begin, I have been a patron of G street for around 5 years. I've spent exorbitant amounts of money and generally treated well by most bartenders. I am personal friends with certain ones and have been great to me. I've had certain dishes concerning food and am not displeased with the quality of the food. There's a variety of options that adhere to my allergies and medical problems and are great. But to continue on not only have they recently allowed dogs into the bar??(without clear guidance signification which, by the way I'm highly allergic to dogs. Regardless of that problem However, I'm in discussion of some of the staff and this is where the problems occurs primarily. Recently one certain 'security' was brazen enough to hit on two women outside while working( directly next to my bicycle) which is quite expensive- after briefly walking outside. I asked him politely to please not lean or mess with my property. Which he did. I proceeded to walk back into G and following that my friend who was outside watched him decide to jump on my bike and clearly had no regard for my request. This damaged my property. And I informed Tim as well. He was an Hispanic male with nearly buzzed hair. A previous female friend explained to me that she felt threatened at one point by the same individual while he was drugged out while working. So I would highly suggest not spending lots of money there or waste your time dealing with those who are incompetent working there. read more

I have never felt so disrespected by a bar and it's staff ever before in this town. I will never spend another penny at this establishment. They will not support their customers at any cost, only they're egotistical, aggressive regulars. Bar bouncers tell our group to stand up against others that tell members of our group to "shut the f@$k up" all over a game of pool. We kept the peace dispite being treated so poorly by the bouncers favorites. Never have I felt such negativity and retaliation from this bars' staff for trying to play a pleasant game of pool. Their bouncers do not treat customers fairly and will take it out on you and restrict you for being "passive aggressive" when protecting members of our group. They are power hungry like they've never had the opportunity before. This is "their bar" and nobody will be passive aggressive in this establishment or else. They are a shame to this city and it's extremely shocking they continue to keep business. It's not hard to train respectable employees but they surely will fail at this simple task. Don't come here expecting to have an enjoyable time with friends. Take your business elsewhere if you do not know the staff because you will be treated as trash. This was a good entertaining atmosphere however, as a first time mother it was a horrifing experience! I was in the restroom pumping for my new newborn and all of a sudden an employee came in and asked everybody to get out because of broken glass. I told the employee to give me a couple minutes to finish pumping and they said, "no everybody out now". I looked around and didn't see any broken glass. I got up right away, very distraught with milk spilled all over my clothes and hurried out! They expressed no sympathy or compassion. I have pumped at other public establishments before and this by far, the worst experience ever! read more

I've tried writing this multiple times ( I don't know how to get my point direct, and how much you ruined my night:day/week/month/ and I don't even want to give you this gratitude, but year.., wanting this to go STRAIGHT to the owner, no matter how much the employees swore he was aware of his rules. I am type ONE DIABETIC. I promise you I NEED my glucagon next to me OR better yet, my husband. It will SAVE my life if; (I get too excited, stressed and/or any emotion a normal body's does, my bg(blood glucose) decides to drop, I will SURVIVE with it. The ignorance the employees showed was impeccable, I am a patient person, and am used to questions, NOT "I actually didn't notice your bag before, but we have a policy and we can not accept your type of bag." ( So, he made a big deal about my bag, I showed him EVERYTHING that was in my purse; I carry wet wipes, a pull-up ( I was also questioned why I was carrying my daughter's pull up because she wasn't with me, well, I wasn't planning on going out for my friends graduation, but we were able to make it in town and to where she wanted to play pool...) That's fine and he said it very professionally, until I explained to him I really need my bag and cannot just leave it outside the door, in circumstance my blood sugar drops. (Usually people are understanding by now) however, this is when the employee has the audacity to say his girl friend is diabetic and gets it but I need to leave my bag with him by the door or leave. If your Girlfriend was truly diabetic, or at least type one diabetic, I'd hope you have a little more empathy towards her than you did me. I hope she sees this and realizes, " wow this guys does not understand how the body works or how being kind works.. he needs to get real and/or get lost!" I feel like I've been stabbed in the chest, really I never thought this kind of discrimination would be here especially in Davis, help. Me . Out. We asked for the manager and he pointed to his buddy next to him, the guy next to him promised us he was the manager and the owner trusted his decisions and he has his reasons.. would not let us have a comment card or write ANYTHING or any complaint down..I am here to say he has not done that, he sent the original bouncer in because he was getting upset with us (they were trying to explain the medical issue I need, as well as I did) However, he sent him in and didn't want to hear from us either. Being a mother of two AND TYPE ONE diabetic , I've been trying incredibly hard to keep my medical together, mainly because I was worried about this ridicule/ misunderstanding starting in jrhigh/high school, I promise you, even in those junior years, I've never felt so hurt before.. we never wanted to start trouble just a game of pool.. ( 9:30 is their cut off for back-pack/ I guess diaper cake bags?! We were there at 9:25..My bag I carry is more stealthy than purses,but also smaller than most, I have more life-saving- important issues I need to be protected, why do you need 10 security guards in your "high class" pool playing place, no thanks. read more
