I wish that I could rate this place with two separate reviews. One for my hair dresser and one for the salon. First, Scott is out of this world as a hair dresser. He is down to earth, charges reasonable prices and can make even the most difficult hair look movie star fabulous. He gets 5 stars from me. The salon.... meh. It is tastefully decorated but definitely needs maintenance. Off of the top of my head, the paint on the floor is peeling up. They need to either repaint it or throw down some pergo or something similar on top of it. So the salon gets 3 stars. The salon is worth tolerating for a good hair dresser. The other employees seem really down to earth but I didn't get a chance to see their work. read more

If you ever feel like being disrespected, this is the place to go - and for a total experience of disrespect, ask for Cesar. I made an appointment and went in on time. After waiting for another person for another 15-20 min to finish, Cesar finally started on my hair. He did the left side of my hair when his buddy walked in with a couple of wine bottles and he just told me to wait until he does his friend's hair - He left my hair 1/2 way done and started cutting his friends hair .... after sitting in my chair with a totally messed up hair for over 15 min or so, i complained that hey what about the rest of my hair, to which he answered sit still and i will get back to the rest of your hair once i finish my friend's hair.....i ended up leaving their store with disgust and anger while one side of my hair was cut short and the other side was untouched. I would not recommend this place even to my worst enemies. read more

I have been going to Sylvia before she even opened up G-Taso. I have curly hair and can say without a doubt or any hesitation that Sylvia is by far the best hair dresser I have ever had! And believe me I've tried plenty. I had to stop going for awhile due to my own financial situation but as soon as I was able, I was back in her able hands. She has nursed my hair back to health! I recently tried a "blow out" (keratin conditioning treatment) and she had to straighten my hair. Now I've straitened my hair a handful of times in my life and always at the salon. It had never looked as good or lasted looking as good as it did when Sylvia did it (see attached photo). I was blown away. I can not sing enough praise for Sylvia and her amazing expertise. She suggests the best treatments and care for my hair and as a result of listening to her, my hair has never looked better. She'll even suggest lower cost products if you can't afford the brands she carries in the salon. I love the salon. Sylvia did an amazing job with it. I have stayed loyal because I know there is no where better. I see all the other hair dressers and their regulars and I see them as happy as I am when I walk out of this Salon. I drive 2 hours for my appointments and don't even complain because it's worth it! read more

Sylvia has been doing my hair for 10 years. I can honestly say that she is the best hairstylist I have ever had. I'm constantly complimented on my color and cut. She continually attends educational seminars and is up on all the latest products and styling techniques. The salon is clean, comfortable, and well stocked with high end products. Everyone at the salon is awesome and very talented. I've been with Diana for over 20 years and trust my hair to no one else!

My 81-year-old mother looks forward to getting her hair cut and colored; on her third trip to this salon, she was treated disrespectfully and not taken seriously. The haircut was trimmed badly. The hair color which was to be blonde like the two times prior visits was instead a muddy light brown. She brought the hair color predicament to their attention while at the shop but was repeatedly told that it was the color she had before...which was not the case. Once home, and after subsequent phone calls, along with another visit back to the salon to have it fixed, there was no help or relief given to correct the poorly done coloring. Even after my sister called to get some clarification as to why it couldn't be resolved? The owner, Sylvia took it to another level and barred my mother from ever returning to her shop without fixing the coloring. Consider the high cost of the hair color and cut along with the complete disregard of customer service, especially considering my mother's 81 years of age, this whole incidence was appalling. read more

I've been seeing Sylvia for 20+ years and she's fabulous! She really listens to what you are looking for and provides suggestions if you are not sure.
