I I have been in the security business for over 32 years G4S is the worst company I've ever worked for. They have no regard for their employees welfare safety or opinions. I Worked at one post in 2017 I did not see a supervisor for the entire year and no check ups no calls the only contact I had with them was when I notified them of a situation. There is no support for uniforms vehicles with any other items that are needed on their posts. I would not recommend my worst enemy to work for this company and their corporate offices are not much better. read more

This company is awful. I recently applied for a position here. I got a text with 3 different times of available interview times. I selected a time for the next morning. I never received a phone call. I emailed the human Recourses team that emailed me saying my interview was scheduled and told them no one called me. I then got another text asking if I could do an interview for later that day. I said yes. Again NO PHONE CALL. No one has emailed me back, no one has reached out to me after I sent a second email. read more

STAY CLEAR AWAY!!! They do NOT care about their employees... my coworker was having issues with another coworker and he complained MULTIPLE times, but the managers literally do not give 2 FUCKS. The managers only care about doing the minimum out of their jobs and nothing more. If they have shifts are filled that's all they care about. Never will accept any transfer requests. Employees are expendable. Literally numerous employee terminations every other week. Husband and wife are GM and Manager... So you know how that goes... Just like any other BS security. Everything started off great. I got a phone call the same day i filled out an application. i set up an interview 2 days after. This where things took a turn. When showed up the person i was interviewing with wasn't there or was busy. After waiting 45 mins i was pulled into an office with an account manager. I was offered a great paying site. I filled out i-9. I was told that i was hired and to send in my resume for the next interview and no one called me back. I haven't heard from anyone since then. FYI I was Referred by someone who was hired and received a uniform but was never called back on status of background check after almost 3 months since orientation. I've worked for G4S for over 11 years. Although there have been issues in the past, the San Jose branch has been busy cleaning house the former staff had left behind. The San Jose branch has done a remarkable job of reducing pay discrepancies for having so many employees to look out for. The field supervisor, Robert, has done an excellent job of being available for my team, they no longer feel "left in the dark" over what happens behind the scenes. The communication between our site and the branch has exceeded my expectations. G4S is a reliable company to work for. They always have work and hold some highly regarded clients that can provide you with excellent experience for future references. read more

Even though you are very verbal throughout your hiring process about NOT WANTING TO BE AT A FREAKING BANK!! I had high expectations of this company prior to being hired. I don't understand how this company can be so difficult to be an employee of. I was assigned to Seagate, completed 40 hours of training (24 in the control room). Yet, I'm expected to be an IT tech including being completely familiar with 3 different computer systems. As a patrolman, I received 6 hours of training (the employee was complaining about management the entire time). The training was ok, but there's no way I can learn the ins and outs of any job in 3 days. They consider you fully qualified as if you've been there 6 months. Oh, 3 people were fired in the week I was training. Yeah, you read this review correctly. The manager, Sam, has short man complex. He's about 5'1. He belittles and mistreats everyone who works there including the supervisor, Debbie. Debbie is nice and actually tries to help, but it's a losing battle. Did I also mention I haven't been paid yet. Pay is weekly and I expected it today, so I will hope I receive a paper check in the mail today, as promised. I don't know about the other sites, but I would not recommend this company as a good employer. NEVER accept a Seagate assignment, trust me. read more

I interviewed with G4S in the Rochester, NY office in December of 2016. The office was a complete mess and extremely cluttered. I went through all of my qualifications with the interviewer who stated that while I had my Bachelors degree in Homeland Security it had to be specifically a Criminal Justice degree. Then the interviewer stated that my experience as military police was not valid due to the fact that the Air Force's name for MP's is Security Forces. I did not receive a job offer after my first interview. Fast forward 6 months and I receive an email from a G4S recruiter stating that the hiring manager had found my information in their candidate database and requested that I apply for a position as a custom protection officer, so I filled out another application. I scheduled an interview and went in again. The interview lasted about 5 minutes and I was offered a position. G4S then conducted a background check and ran a credit check, I received an email that stated and I quote "Congratulations on your successful completion of all screening requirements for the employment with G4S! We are delighted to invite you to attend hire processing." After I received the email, I attempted to contact the Operations Manager whom I interviewed with, he did not return my call so I attempted to contact him a couple more times over the next week leaving messages on his office number and his cell number and he did not return any of my calls, this occurred in May of this year. After having been offered a position, having my credit dinged and being told that I was cleared to start working to then have G4S never contact me back to actually start work was pretty shocking. I would not advise anyone to apply to this company due the the sheer fact of how unprofessional and disorganized they are. read more

G4s does not care for the security. they care more about the contract that they have and pay shitt.. they have the biggest security company and samtrans/caltrain in the peninsula is 1 of their biggest contract but yet they will pay us $13.50/hour you cant even pay rent ..and then they wonder why they had 4 people quit in one month .. and you will get stuck that contract because they will not let you transfer out to a better spot. unless you quit.. they have a guy named danny at the samtrans in san carlos that has been there for 13 years wayyy before they took over the contract and are still paying him $13.50 an hour what knd of company is that .... $13.50 is for starting seurity officers ..not someone with years of experice and you have him training half of the people you hire .??????? G4s get your s*** together.. same goes for the san jose branch.. they will have you going in circles ...until you give up and stop asking .... i have met 5 security officers that still want to transfer out of the samtrans/caltrains account but cant . i have stopped by and will talk to them once in awhile.. i hope the UNION people come and help us out..like they did for the allied barton security officers in the peninsula... read more

I have been employed with G4S for about 1 year and a few months. I have been working at one site for a while now almost one year the longer I stayed the more people left because of management. I was promised that we promote from within the company so we had a L/O position come avaliable and I was the next guy up to get an promotion. I worked extremely hard I work overtime like no other employee pushing out 60hrs per week because everyone calls out or no call no show so I'm obligated to stay over. The L/O position was between two officers my self and another officer that just got hired and only been here for about 1month so he really don't no what's going or even the procedures. Yet the company gave it to the guy that has only been here for only 1 month. Has less experience than me overall this is by far the worst company ever they treat there employees like trash espically the ones that looks out for the company the most.
