I moved to LA last September and felt so grateful of the experience here. Grew up in China and have been to the dentist in China since I was 7 years old, I had developed a natural fear and anxiety of the painful experience. However, Dr.Larrea and his staff made me feel ease and that I was in good hands. Dr. Larrea has great skills to finish the job nicely and efficiently. I had deep cleaning done, removed 4 wisdom teeth, filled cavities and changed the old silver fillings to white ones. I also need to do a tooth implant next year. The experience so far is wonderful. Everyone there is very friendly, humorous, patient in explaining the bill, flexible in changing appointments. I highly recommend him and his dental care facility to all the others. Hi, This place is your best pick for dental work and here is why: 1) Dr. Larrea is very knowledgeable and will take care of your needs in an extremely professional way. This is not just a fancy sentence but real. I had a root canal and two crowns done and they both are perfect. The root canal did NOT hurt at all while being done at the highest level with a bunch of photos and other things to make sure it lasts as long as I live ( hopefully another 50 years) . My crowns fit perfectly as well. 2) The place is not expensive. It is not the cheapest but it is definitely on the extreme value side. Call them with your needs as I am sure they will be very competitive if not cheapest. 3) Their team is pretty awesome as well from the receptionist - Gloria, the assistants Maria and Irene and Dr. Larrea himself. The only drawback is that he is a fan of Real Madrid (To my Barca compatriots, this is no issue... HE BARELY LIKES THEM, so do yourselves a favor and go to him). 4) Once you go here, you will start truly liking going to the dentist. Regardless of what we have to do, dental work is not the first choice of time use for anyone. These guys raise the roof on dental work. Dr. Larrea is honestly the best dentist. I found him first through a GCC 'low income' dentist referral because I had a chipped tooth and no insurance back then and his prices where fair. My job changed health insurance so I have to change from PPO to HMO and it sucks because he doesn't cover my new insurance. He is very honest and staff is friendly and doesn't give you false diagnosis for stuff you don't need which is very important to me. Without hesitation he told me to go to his office right away and he drilled my tooth relieving me of my pain. Going in for a root canal and crown next week. Dr. Larrea and his staff are just as every other reviewer has stated. Kind, considerate, gentle with your teeth issues and explain everything very clearly. There is no pressure whatsoever. I recently came here for a second opinion on the advice of my wife for a wisdom tooth concern. He explained his opinion, had great recommendations and did not pressure me into doing anything I did not want. In the end, I went with one of his recommendations and will get more extensive work done with his colleague. Dr. Larrea, as far as I am concerned, is the BEST dentist in all of Glendale. Just like Chopin was a pianist's pianist, Dr. Larrea is a dentist's dentist. His father was also a dentist and friends with my father, who also practiced dentistry, and Dr. Larrea did quite a bit of work on me and my dad took a look and said, it was flawless. IDK if it was flawless or not as I was too dumb for dental school, but I can say this much...from the moment I walked in, I felt very comfortable with his staff. Very friendly. I get a little nervous before going to the dentist but as soon as I met the doctor, I knew I was in good hands. He has a very calming demeanor and is just an all around nice guy. He would ask me from time to time if I felt any pain, but I felt none. He really knows what he's doing and although he'll not mention this, he went to a great dental school and is very, very gifted with his hands. Despite this fact, he is as nice and humble a person as I have ever met. Plus, his prices are very reasonable compared to other dentists. If I could give him and his staff 6 stars, I would. Truly a nice, magnificent dentist who will almost have you wishing you get a cavity so you can go visit him. Loves to talk about sports and all that stuff. But, very professional, very meticulous, a perfectionist if you will. They don't come much better than him. Called to make an appointment for my child on a Monday. The person on the phone sounded great and very flexible with changing the appointment if necessary. She never mentioned anything about the insurance. I assumed she had check it on the system because that's how the other dentist used to do it. She asked for my son's information and I gave it to her so I was under the impression she was putting this in the computer. On Monday I headed out from Korea town/hollywood to Glendale and it took a while to get there , it is more like Burbank and not glendale. I get there and there is no parking lot for this dental office. I was rushing looking for parking, no street parking available so I parked at the 99 cent store lot. I get to the office and three ladies are there, 2 sitting and one standing, and no patients. They didn't greet us or asked anything. I signed in and the senior lady handed me a clipboard for me to fill out the paper work. I had forgotten my cell phone in the car as I rushed to get to the office so I did not have my insurance info. I gave her my personal info and she checked it through my employer. The senior lady said they did not take my insurance, here is where I was upset, and asked why she didn't tell me anything over the phone since she had asked other things knowing full well it was our first time at her office. She said that I had to ask directly and that's why she didn't say anything. I cannot rate the dentist, he sounds great, but the staff should work on people skills and provide clear information about the dental insurance they take.
