Dr. Sahakyan repeatedly provides the best dental experience I could ever ask for. I can't express enough how quick and painless every visit with him is. So far he has repaired a tooth that I broke eating popcorn and extracted all 4 of my wisdom teeth. I was so impressed after my wisdom tooth extractions that I had to immediately text all of my close friends that knew I was having the procedure done to let them know how well it went. My exact words were "that was as pleasant as pulling teeth could possibly be". Dr. Sahakyan is truly a professional and you can feel the many years of experience during each visit. He and his staff are a well oiled machine. Not only do they get the job done very quickly but they are also very dedicated to making their patients feel as comfortable as possible. I put off having my wisdom teeth extracted for 4 years because I have heard horror stories from people who have experienced careless or inexperienced dentists. I had one tooth that was impacted and knew that the angle that it was growing in would eventually lead to a mean cavity for the tooth beside it and possibly a root canal if not taken care of. I still put it off because my regular dentist doesn't do wisdom tooth extractions and I was afraid to go anywhere else. After my experience with his office, I will only see Dr. Sahakyan for as long as he practices. I cannot express how grateful I am that what is a nightmare for a lot of people was such an amazing experience for me. He prescribed me some pain medication but I only really needed over the counter pain medicine for the day of and the day after the extractions. I had all 4 teeth extracted in one session and I was in and out in an hour and a half without feeling rushed. This was an 8am appointment that I had to reschedule last minute because on my first attempt at removing the teeth I was involved in an auto accident on my way to the office. I called the office minutes after my scheduled appointment time and I felt horrible knowing they came to work early just to treat me but they were so kind and understanding and bless their hearts they were able to schedule me for 8am again a couple of weeks later. I am so grateful for him and his office and I will recommend him to anyone that needs dental care. And for anyone wondering about COVID procedures, his staff takes your temperature at the door and schedules patients in a manner that prevents contact with other patients. Everyone in the office wears a mask and gloves and they ask that you sign forms to verify that you are not experiencing any symptoms. I went to see Dr. Sahakyan to get a second opinion in regard to cavities and gum problems that were detected by another dentist. The other dentist (won't mention their name) told me that I had 9 cavities that needed to be fixed right away, and needed to get a deep cleaning with local anasthesia. Of course, I was very surprised as I take good care of my teeth; however, I was also extremely concerned and made an appointment to start the treatment. Thankfully, a friend of ours recommended to consult with Dr. Sahakyan before starting the treatment with the other doctor. I'm so glad that I decided to see this doctor because he saved my teeth and a lot of money. He examined my teeth and noticed a few very small cavities, and told me that I didn't need to get those cavities fixed at this time as they were very tiny. In addition, he told me that my gums were in normal condition and did NOT recommend deep cleaning. Instead, he recommended a filling for only ONE tooth and regular cleaning every 6 months. I didn't feel any pain during the procedure--he did it quickly and effectively. By the way, his dental assistant (the Armenian woman) did the x-rays without any discomfort either--it was the easiest and fastest x-ray exam ever. The doctor was highly respectful and took his time to answer all my questions. I will definitely recommend him to family and friends, as he seemed like an honest and humble guy. I aged out of my pediatric dentist more than three years ago and was not exactly motivated to find a new one. After hearing so many horror stories about bad dentists from friends and coworkers, I was willing to avoid the dentist forever. However, Smile Makeover of LA had a table out at my mother's workplace a few months ago, and she signed up for her first dental appointment in more than a decade. I started being care for by Dr. Gurgen (George) Sahakyan shortly after he began offering his services at the Glenoaks Boulevard office in Glendale. Over the last few years, he has always been excellent at taking care of my teeth and dental hygiene. When I first started with him, I had fairly deep pockets between my gums and teeth -- so much so that it required a deep cleaning about every 6 months. The last few times I have been to him, I didn't need a deep cleaning -- and during today's visit I had the best ever because the highest number for pockets was a 3. He honestly cares how things are going, and asks questions to ensure that he is giving excellent service and that my teeth are properly taken care of by him. He keeps me informed as to what he plans to do, and is gentle in the work he does. I have never had such a good dentist my whole life. Everyone I know that goes to Dr. George is also very happy with how they are treated and cared for. The whole staff there are competent, professional and have become good friends over the years. I used to be a patient of the previous dentist at this business for years. Then she moved out of State and I moved as well so I had to find another dentist. I tried one in my new town, but I had a bad experience there, mostly with his staff and waiting time issues. I then decided to try out Dr. Sahakyan and I was very pleased to find out that he is just as caring and timely as his predecessor. My main problem with dental work is the water going down my throat giving me a hard time to breathe; I told Dr. Sahakyan about it and he totally understood my difficulty and helped me by taking frequent breaks and having his assistant suck out the water more frequently. I am temporarily in LA from Minnesota. I had an old front crown come out of my mouth and needed quick service. I was able to get an appointment within a week and Dr Stella evaluated the old crown/tooth structure and recommended a root canal/ post/ crown replacement. I went in to start the root canal, and due to the structure of the very small tooth, Dr Stella quickly found that she didn't have the specialized equipment needed to complete the root canal. She was able to refer me to an endodontist across the hall, and negotiate a discount for me since I do not have dental insurance. The staff at Smile Makeover was able to get me an appointment that evening. I then got a temporary crown in a couple of days. After about 1.5 weeks, I got the final crown and it looks and feels very good. I am very impressed with the friendliness of everyone at the office, their professionalism, and the very reasonable price I was charged (less than $2000 for everything). read more

I was a former patient of Dr. Meachem and had no clue the business was transferred over to Dr. George and Stella Sahakyan. As I've been out of state for a while, I hadn't been to the office since '08 and had no clue Dr. Meachem was no longer there. For lack of any known alternative, I decided to give Dr. George a try and see how he is. After sitting down with me and asking me several questions, Dr George seemed to genuinely care about my oral health. It was a welcome surprise to see such a young dentist with so much credibility. I went though a simple exam with x-rays and all went well. I'm definitely going to go back to him again for my next cleaning and oral care. I'm planning on getting Invisalign instead of braces, which Dr. George said he'll give me a good discount on, so I'm looking forward to that as well. Dr. Stella Sahakyan became my dentist when Dr. Meacham sold her practice to its new owners George and Stella Sahakyan. On my first visit with the new dentists, I was a bit apprehensive about whether I would receive the same level of care that made me a regular patient of Dr Meacham's. I was very pleasantly surprised by Stella's communication skills and her honest and caring treatment. I had worn a hole in one of my crowns and expected the dentist to tell me I needed a new one. All I wanted to do was fill the hole as the rest of the crown seemed fine. To my surprise, Stella recommended that I only fill the hole because a new crown would require removing too much tooth and that was not a good idea. Needless to say, I was very happy. Dr. Sahakyan really cares about his patients. I've been going to see him for several things and I'm very happy with him. I had a crown done and it was rather difficult as it was a front tooth. He really did his best to have it match the other tooth and went above and beyond what any another dentist would have normally done, adjusting it until it was right. (His lab guy is great too.) Plus he's very gentle and makes sure he doesn't hurt you. Actually he warns you ahead of time it might hurt and then it doesn't! All of his staff is wonderful, friendly and efficient, his office is spotless and his prices are reasonable. He never pushes you to do unnecessary and expensive work.
