    "famous cheese steak"
    Eric S.

Staff is rude. Manager is a c***. They wanted the person who already drove 20 minutes to get the food to drive back to prove that there was no cheese on a cheesesteak. I guess the moron doesn't understand that it's 2017 and pictures can be sent through smartphones. If you're going to call them "famous cheese steaks" probably should put cheese on it. If you have any self respect stay away from this place they don't care about their customers at all...

    Geatano's mushroom & extra cheese.

Mixed feelings about this place... The portions are huge, but some of the food is bland. If you order the right stuff out can be quite good, but there are some real "gotchas'" on the menu. For example, because the rolls are so thick and huge and there is so much meat on the cheesesteak, it seems there is never enough cheese to balance it out. But, the cheesesteak wrap has less meat and bread and is really good because of the better balance. The pizza cheese is bland and adding more of it does not help. It also tends to float to one side of the pie because of too much sauce. I got a sicilian once it was a huge mess. Salad, gyro, wings, poppers, grilled cheese and tomato, and most hoagies (except Italian) are delicious. The hamburgers are awful. I would recommend starting small and see if you like it. If your taste buds are more sensitive than mine (kids perhaps?) this place could be a real bargain for you, especially for parties or if your fridge had lots of room for leftovers.

    One mushroom cheese steak.

This place gets 5 stars only for it's steak sandwiches. I got food there yesterday, and everything else was par or below. The prices are expensive and the place itself is a dive, which is odd considering their Grant Avenue location is so nice. Parking is horrible. I can't say enough about their steak sandwiches though. They are freakishly huge and delicious. They are expensive, but consider the amount of meat you get as part of the price. If they didn't have the best steak sandwiches, they wouldn't even rate one star. That all being said, call em up, and get a cheese steak delivered, and be prepared to share.

I love the cheesesteaks and chicken tenders; they are the best in the area. I recommend Gaetano's.

We were ultimately waiting ~15-20 minutes from the time that we arrived on site since we had put ourselves on the wait list an hour prior. Staff is super friendly given all the incessant "is my table ready?" questions that they get from folks. Things are pretty packed here but we got a table, and were helped and served quickly, and checked on regularly. Our table got the usual: Cactus Blossom, ~6 baskets of bread over the course of the meal, and individual meals. We shared a 12 oz. ribeye w/ ribs combo. Today it was actually not as good as usual, a bit more medium rather than medium rare, and the ribs were dry on the outer half. However, still a completely filling and enjoyable meal all things considered. Pro-tip: put the last bits of your Cactus Blossom in a bun with both butter and sauce for a treat that is much more unhealthy and delicious than you bargained for. To boot, we asked the staff to put our celebrant on the saddle, even though we weren't celebrating his birthday, and they happily fulfilled our wish. Folks here love a good time, even though they are probably easily clocking 30K+ steps filling all their tables.

Steak, Rolls, and a Birthday Win!…read more We were heading from Philly back to NYC and wanted something out of the city, easy parking, and REAL food. Nothing beats a good steak and a roll. Add the fact that it was my boyfriend's birthday the following day and he loves a solid steak, Texas Roadhouse became the stop. They opened at 12:00. By 12:01, people were already seated. On a Sunday!!!! The locals knew what time it was, and that told me everything. We were greeted warmly, seated comfortably, and our waitress was an absolute gem attentive, kind, and on point from start to finish. Love love loved her! Even accommodated my birthday surprise for my boyfriend. But listen... Norm, the owner or manager (forgot the title but may be both ‍), deserves praise. That man was WORKING. Serving tables, slanging salads, running food, checking on guests. I have never seen an owner or manager that hands on in a franchise spot. Ever! Shout out to Norm because leadership like that shows. The staff were wearing "I love working here" shirts and you could see what a well oiled machine it was. They sang my boyfriend Happy Birthday without the saddle as requested by us, respected the vibe, and made it special. He demolished the buttery rolls and said the peanuts reminded him of home. You even get a birthday scoop! The ice cream was delish. Ribeye? Perfect. Salmon? Delicious. Beef tips with all the fixings? Hit. Loaded potato? LOADED. Great food, great energy, great service. This wasn't just a meal, it was a moment. If you're passing through and hungry, stop here.

I didn't have the pleasure of visiting Dog & Bull before it was renovated, but I visited last night and can't wait to return. My friend and I made a reservation for 5:30 PM (just in case) as we read online that reservations were recommended, but I don't actually think one was needed. When you walk in, it's bright and inviting. The garage doors throughout the property provide a ton of natural light. I can only imagine how lovely it is when they're open in the summer. Additionally, the outside has a nice patio and an area with a fire pit. The restaurant's layout was designed wonderfully! Our server was Alex (Alexandria) and she was the epitome of exceptional service. She checked in on us multiple times and always had a smile on her face when she came over. We really appreciated having her. The baked feta and hummus appetizer was just as delicious as it looks in the photo. The thick pieces of garlic, roasted red peppers, olives, cucumbers and pita bread triangles paired so nicely with the feta. The hummus was warmed up and it looked like the kitchen staff may have torched the top of it. It was phenomenal. Boy do I have notes on the lentil burger - it was 10/10!! I'm not a big bean person and even though this burger had beans in it, it somehow tasted like an actual beef burger. Sounds crazy, I know, but trust and believe it was pure excellence. I added cheddar for an additional charge and upgraded my regular fries to garlic parm fries. Finally, the caramel apple bread pudding... oh my oh my! What a DELIGHT. The top was piled high with a big scoop of frosting. Yes, you read that right. Frosting! Not ice cream! You can taste the apple pieces in the bread pudding. My friend and I wanted to order it twice. It was THAT good. It was easy to make my way to Dog & Bull from Center City thanks to the Septa station located directly behind the restaurant. Street parking also wasn't too bad yesterday. I absolutely loved the experience I had here and will be stopping by again this summer! Thanks, Dog & Bull!

The floor in the main dinning room is pulling apart and is duct taped together. The chairs and tables are flimsy and falling apart. I asked for a blood orange margarita as it was the special of the day. It was not drinkable. It was some sort of powder or mix that was so sour and overly sweet. It did not have any tequila in it. I literally took one sip and left it there. The cheesesteak was good on a seeded roll. It was ribeye and it was done well. Hence tge two stars. The bbq platter had brisket, pulled chicken, ribs, corn and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was the best thing on the platter. The pulled chicken was sitting in a bowl of grease. The brisket was big globs of fat. The ribs were okay. They put a tiny line of sauce on each item. The service was rushed and spotty. I had heard good things, so we decided to give it a try. Very disappointed. There are so many good places around this area now, there is no need to go here again.

The seating area has several tables and they sell slices. On my first trip I tried a cheesesteak, my son had a cheeseburger and my youngest had chicken fingers. We brought home mozzarella sticks for my wife to try. The chicken fingers were the smaller/thin, bland frozen type. The burger was sizable, had a nice brioche bun and overall was pretty standard. The mozzarella sticks were "beer battered" and not too bad. My cheesesteak could have used more cheese to melt and mix with the steak. The steak was chopped, but was a better quality than the basic cardboard steak some places serve. The meat wasn't greasy, but was a tad overcooked. The roll was fresh and toasted. I asked for hot peppers and got the standard yellow hot banana. I gave the sandwich an average score. Points for it not being drippy and greasy. On my second visit I ordered a small 12" pizza and asked for it to be cooked well done. It was ready in ten minutes. The crust was fresh and not too soft/not too crispy and thankfully not chewy. Cheese was a tad sweet, stringy and not overly greasy. The sauce was rich and tangy. Tasted like a cross between a pasta and pizza sauce. I thought the pizza was just above average and would repeat. The owner took care of me both times and was extremely nice. I would definitely repeat if I'm in the neighborhood. Thanks guys and best of luck!
