Gaia Masala & Burger was a great late-night find after a baseball game at Coors Field. One of the biggest advantages right off the bat: they're open until 3 a.m. We arrived around midnight with a group of five, ranging in age from our early 20s to 60, and even though the restaurant was fairly busy, we had no trouble getting a table. We decided this was the kind of menu that needed to be explored, so we ordered a broad selection and shared everything: the Masala Crusher, beef Philly cheesesteak, paneer pizza, vegan saag, baba ganoush, Philly masala cheese fries, garlic cheese naan, and honey naan. We ordered most things at about a 2 out of 4 spice level, and I would describe that as very mild. Nothing at that level was especially spicy to anyone in our group. The paneer pizza was my personal favorite. I absolutely loved it. The garlic cheese naan was also excellent. Several people at the table thought the saag was amazing, and the masala cheese fries were another big hit. The cheesesteak was probably the lowest on the list for me personally, but it was still good. That really describes the meal well: I had some definite winners and some dishes that were more "also-rans," while other people at the table had different favorites. We also had the baba ganoush, and I forgot to specifically ask for naan with it, so it came with pita. That was probably a little disappointing only because the naan here was so good. The Masala Mule was also very well received. I'm not really a drinker, but I had a sip and picked up a fairly strong grapefruit flavor. The people at our table who were actually drinking it enjoyed it quite a bit. Portions are generous. Very generous. The five of us ordered $103 worth of food before tax and tip, ate until everyone was satisfied, and still left with four boxes of leftovers. Our table was technically set for six, but it was fairly narrow, and once all of the dishes arrived there wasn't much extra room left. The one area where Gaia really did not work for me was the atmosphere. The music was very loud, with a lot of rap playing during our visit, and for me personally it made the meal less enjoyable. The younger members of our group were more comfortable with the vibe, although I wouldn't say everyone was completely into it. The metal chairs also were not especially comfortable. I think this is probably a much better fit for a 20- or 30-something late-night crowd than for someone looking for a relaxed dinner where conversation is part of the experience. That said, the food itself gave us plenty to like. Our group of five was overwhelmingly positive overall, averaging about 4.8 out of 5, so I'm giving Gaia five stars based on the group experience. Full disclosure, though: I was the outlier. Personally, I'd put it at about 4 out of 5. The loud atmosphere, uncomfortable chairs, and the fact that I had some clear favorites and some dishes I probably wouldn't rush to order again kept it from being a five-star experience for me personally. But the rest of the group was more enthusiastic across the board, and with five people trying this many different things and everyone finding something they really enjoyed, Gaia clearly did a lot right. If you're looking for adventurous late-night food in Denver, especially after a game or a night out, Gaia Masala & Burger is absolutely worth a try. And if I go back, the paneer pizza and garlic cheese naan will definitely be on my table again. read more

Let me start off by saying that the food here is simply amazing! Authentic Nepali offerings, a huge menu, a vast amount of vegan options are a significant part of what makes this place unique, particular to the Denver area. The fact that this place has in open kitchen until 2 AM, makes it a no-brainer for late night eats that are exceptionally delicious. Came here on a weekday midnight for a bite after a concert. Lassi was alright - this time around we tried the masala pizza and it could have more masala and flavors. This is a really cool fusion restaurant. The tikka masala cheesesteaks are awesome. Really flavorful and delicious. I've gotten the jackfruit one, which is a great vegetarian or vegan option. My husband liked the chicken. I've also gotten the vegan burger which I enjoyed. Love that they have so many plant based options. Everything comes out hot and fresh. I haven't had the pizza but it intrigues me. I appreciate a late night food option AND they also have a parking lot (I hate street parking..). My only complaint is that the style of service is confusing. It's sort of a sit down, sort of a counter serve mix? I ordered medium spice level but should have gotten hot or the spices version. Not the best burger I have had but pretty good with a solid bun that was nicely toasted. Came for the burgers because that's what this place is known for. As an Indian, this burger is just the basic Indian tika burger with store bought buns and cheese. The fries were the only redeeming quality thing. The burger should have higher quality meat and more of it per burger. Additionally the toppings on the beef masala burger didn't make sense. It was like an East Asian cucumber salad on top of a South Asian Indian burger. My tastebuds were confused. The mango lassi was a classic can lassi I've had growing up in my childhood. There wasn't anything extra to it. The biryani was fire. And that's the redeeming reason for the three stars. If you go here to eat, don't get the burger, DO GET the actual Indian food. Such a unique fusion restaurant, there is so many options, the curry on its own is fantastic and the servers were so welcoming and kind.

The food was super delicious and I loved everything I tried. The garlic cheese naan was so good and the chicken tikka cheesesteak was 100% worth trying! I'd suggest getting the cheesesteak without the lettuce, though. But that's pretty much my recommendation for any hot sandwich. Our waitress told us the sandwich is a customer favorite and I could immediately see why. I've gotten it both times I've gone! My kids loved the burgers, and they have really crispy, yummy fries! We came here for a friend night dinner. Think I ordered the wrong thing and should've went with a pizza or burger. Regardless, the chicken tikka masala was pretty good. It paired well with my garlic naan and washed down all of it with my Gaia Peach Tea. The Tikka Masala was really run of the mill that I have experienced countless times just about everywhere. The burger with tika sauce was solid, although I'd probably order it hot next time in terms of spice level as opposed to medium. This place was just OK, for Denver. It probably wouldn't make it in the Bay Area where there's more competition. Here's what we tried: Chicken tikka masala - Decent flavor but it was way too salty. Normally, I pair the sauce with rice but it was so salty I just picked out the chicken and left the sauce. The cheese naan wasn't bad, though, a little heavy, but not bad if you like quesadillas. Fried chicken wings - Wings were on the smaller side, but the bigger issue was that they were fried for way too long. You know how meat gets stringy when it's been sitting in the fryer... Philly cheesesteak - It was OK. Not really authentic but it was fine. All-American burger - Decent burger, no complaints. Fries were good, better than the burger. Mango lassi - This was the biggest disappointment. It tasted like colored yogurt with no mango flavor at all. It's not difficult to make. Even when you buy the Rani canned mango pulp they have a mango shake recipe on the can that you just have to modify slightly to get a decent mango lassi. The samosas were excellent. I got Tamarind & Masala dipping sauce. Their menu is very large with lots of items to choose. I decided to get a Chicken Tikka Masala Burger with a side of Cheesy Masala Fries. I asked for hot (mild/med/hot/super-hot spice levels). Nice and spicy. I got the carrot pudding for dessert. What in the late night glory is this? I can't believe I've never heard of Gaia Masala before. My partner and I were looking for a post-11pm meal when most places in Denver are typically closed. It was a random weekday, so there was plenty of seating, at least until 12:30am when the after-party crowds started rolling in. Customer service is fantastic. I got a Beef Tikka Masala Burger, which I knew wouldn't be as good as Chicken, but I took the chance because I like beef more. It was delicious. What REALLY took the cake for me though was the extremely garlicky Baba Ghanoush. Best I've ever had. Would come back just for that. Found one of my new favorite Indian/Mediterranean places in Denver! We ordered the tikka masala burger with fries, and beef lamb gyro Beef lamb gyro: 5/5 This was our favorite! The gyro was soooo flavorful and slightly crispy at the edge. They provided a generous amount of meat too. Loved all the vegetables that came with it, and the pita was nice and fluffy.
