I took my 2011 Mazda car with approximately 55k miles on it to a Meineke in Fairfax VA and Brown Mazda in Alexandria and asked for a overall evaluation of the car for an upcoming road trip of 1500 miles. An hour later, I was told I needed 2 tires, an alignment, front brake pads, a battery, a serpentine belt (my car made no squealing belt sound) and a FEW other items! I found this hard to believe, declined any work and took it to this Mazda dealer in Gaithersburg Md for another evaluation of the car. I later found out NOTHING was needed for the car but a bulb for the tag light, which they replaced for free after I showed them the detailed list of items needed from Meineke and Brown. I've heard stories before, but never personally felt like a shop was trying to take advantage of me until this situation. They are great! I had a problem with the Blind Spot Monitoring System on my 2017 Mazda CX-3. I had taken it to Brown's and Priority in Virginia and they fumbled around and could not get it calibrated. I had to contact Mazda Corp in California. Mazda Corp cares! They set up an appointment with Gaithersburg Mazda, even had my car toed (at Mazda's expense) because I had a broken arm and could not drive, and these folks finally did what should have been a year ago by either Brown's or Priority. We just had the most painless car buying experience ever! We had priced the CX5 at a couple local places over the internet. Although Gaithersburg Mazda (Maynor Guzman) didn't initially offer the lowest price, it's closest to our home, so we gave them a chance to match, which they said they could. We said we'd come in to pick it up at that price. With car dealers, there's always the fear the deal will change or they'll get you there and pull the rug out. None of that here. I have bought 2 new cars from this dealership and have nothing but good things to say about them. I dealt with Jason Eden mostly by email at first to find the Mazda model and color I was looking for. He was very professional and gave me the facts with no hastle. Even when I came in to test drive and then purchase the car the salesman, Jason Eden, was very patient, polite and never pushy. My experience with this dealer was a nightmare. I was trying to buy a used jeep wrangler and the entire process couldn't have been more disappointing. My salesman was a man named Joe. The dealership could not get tags for me the day I actually bought it and offered to drive it out to my house the next day. Joe ended up pulling into my neighbors driveway instead of mine. Halfway down the drive way he realized he was in the wrong drive way and instead of turning around and going into the correct driveway with the car I JUST PURCHASED for a large amount of money. he decided to cut across the yard..... It has been raining for the past two days and he got the jeep stuck in a ditch between our yards and got mud and dirt all over the vehicle and even broke a mud flap on the back passenger side of the car. the neighs yard has tire tracks going through it now as well. In the picture below you can see the saleman Joe getting out of the vehicle and proceeds to tell me something to the extent of.... Wow thats a really fun car to drive! You should have a Bunch of fun off roading in that! I then asked him if he thought this was an acceptable condition to drop the car off to me in. To which he proceeded to tell me something like.... Thats what jeeps are made for man. I then informed him i am very dissatisfied and plan to post the picture of my muddy new jeep online to which he then flipped out and got in my face wanting to fight me...... We then sat in the yard and had a screaming match for the next ten minutes until the other driver came to pick him up and take him back to the dealership. I then called the general manager to inform him of the situation. I was pretty much told that the car is now mine and he felt his driver did nothing wrong. I am currently in the process of contacting Mazda to see what they can do for my neighbors yard that has huge tire track going through the yard..... I will update this post if anything gets done about it or if we need to get a lawyer involved read more

When I first went to look for a Mazda 3 I went to the dealership in Rockville. I went for a test drive and then spoke to someone about numbers. They gave me a bottom line price and told me they couldnt budge on that. Now I am young and even younger looking so I'm almost 100% sure these people were not being honest because we all know that there is at least some wiggle room. I went to Gaithersburg Mazda the very next day to see if they could do better. They found me the exact car I wanted super fast and were very pleasant in the process. They came back to me with a number that was far better than that of Rockville which even allowed me financially to extend my warranty. At first they told me I would have to wait til the next day to pick up the car but the guy who worked with us (I believe his name was Neil) actually drove out to VA and back in the same night, detailed the car, and got me on my way. I appreciated this dealership's honesty, frankness, and overall knowledge of their product. While waiting to talk to the financing department, they took me around the dealership and let me know what to do if I ever needed an oil change or other services. I believe I got the best price for my Mazda 3 and am very happy with my purchase. They only issue I think could be improved in the fact that we had to wait a very long time to finally sit down with the financing department. They only have one person and while I understand the dealership is on the smaller side - after being at the dealership for almost 7 hours to then wait another 45 min before getting to speak to someone is a bit ridiculous. However, I would not let this discourage you as buying a car is always an all day affair. read more

We purchased a Mazda CX-5 at Gaithersburg Mazda in September last year and are fully satisfied with this car, who has worked beautifully in the city and on the highways, last winter and in this hot summer. This belated review rather deals with our experience at the dealership when we bought the car. What we wanted was somebody who dealt patiently with all our questions and did not put any pressure on us. We found this person in Mr. Omar Majeed. He showed us all the models available, even driving us to a distant site, explaining the differences among them and with similar models of other companies. He seemed very knowledgeable about all technical details and quite straightforward about the pros and cons of each model. We ended up feeling very well prepared in making a decision for the CX-5, versus the analogous models of Honda, Ford and Volkswagen. Throughout this process, Omar was relaxed, pleasant, personable and understanding, making us feel totally at ease: excellent sales representative! My son purchased a CPO mazda from another dealer, and he took it to Gaithersburg Mazda for a warranty issue. At first there was a misunderstanding what was covered under warranty, but there was no misunderstanding as to how they took care of him. They fixed the car perfectly, and made his first car service experience a lesson in exceptional customer service. Oh, and the car came back cleaner than it did when he purchased it. They were very thorough. I was very impressed, and i am not one to usually write reviews. I work in a service oriented industry myself, and can understand how sometimes things can get misconstrued. Having someone go the extra distance to make things right (and make sure the customer really is satisfied) goes a long way though. read more

We had high hopes on closing a deal with them, so we went there first. They would not even give us a straight number to start negotiation, they kept asking "how did you come up with that number?" Then the sales rep said the car they had was the only CPO vehicle in this area, but we found several others within 25 miles. We left feeling disappointed, because we really would've loved to close a deal on that day, if they showed any sincerity. Their prices are high and unwilling to come down. Even though we loved that car, and even called the next day morning to see if they'd be willing to work something out, they did not call back. The sales manager finally called back @ 430om and asked me to stop by so he could look at my trade-in again (its an old car, the difference would not be more than $250 even if he looked it over again), I didn't want to waste time if the car price is too far off. I told him I was on my way out to see another newer car at the same price as theirs, he immediately said there must be something wrong with that one. Oh well, we ended up getting a newer car with very low mileage for less $. We are happy we didn't get pressured to spend more than what we planned for. You'll always find the car you want if you shop around. read more

The salesman was very friendly, but their sales tactics are incredibly sleazy and dated. The manager was so rude, slow, and condescending that I had to walk out. There is no wonder that this dealership was empty except for me and the dozen or so employees. I would not recommend this dealer at all! The service department is terrible. I would not bring my mazda there again. I bought the 2013 mazda last year and the car has brake noise so I brought in for the services. they looked at the brake pad and told me it was not mazda parts so it's not cover by the warranty if I want to fix it I have to pay for it. This is a new car that I bought from them. I have no idea what parts they used. the whole thing sound like a scam. read more

1) Shuttle service is a joke. If you're ready to wait for an hour to get no service - go for it. 2) Certified Mazda service. They find non-existing problems, missing the real one. My last visit they gave me an estimation of $1500 worth of repairs, which was not confirmed by my trusted mechanic. 3) They wanted to charge me $350 for a part which is $50 on amazon and does not even need to be replaced. read more

J.P. from Fairfax hit the nail on the head. Avoid this dealership especially if you have a trade in. Bait & switch tactics. Quote you a price for your trade in but when it comes time to sign docs check the actual price. They reduced the agreed upon amount of our trade in by $1,500 & tried to explain it with ridiculous bs trying to confuse the customer. The sales person, Joe was great but the sales manager, Shaudi, tried to low-ball us at every opportunity. When we said we wanted to check other dealers on our trade-in he got very indignant & rude. The offers from Shaudi on the deal and from Amin on the financing were insulting. Would not work with us at all on the interest rate and kept pushing a long-term loan. Joe should seek employment at a different dealership - one with managers who have Joe's same level of integrity. read more

On March 16th of 2013 I called this dealership from out-of-state and spoke with a salesman named Mohammed who said he could still lease me a new leftover 2012 Mazda 3 S Grand Touring. Since I was told by over 12 other dealers that it wasn't possible because the program that would allow them to do it had recently expired, I asked Mohammed over and over "are you sure you're able to do this ?". He assured me Gaithersburg Mazda could do it but because it was Saturday Mohammed got busy with customers who were there in person and when he finally got back to me it was 30 minutes before closing. He said to me do me a favor and just go on our website and fill out the credit App. I was against doing this because 1st of all this was going to be my 4th Mazda in 6 years and I knew I was golden with Mazda because of a flawless payment history and #2 another Mazda dealer ran my credit only 4 days prior and I was good to go if in fact we came to a deal which we didn't. Anyway, I did what he asked me to do and the next day came the #$%$#! inevitable news from Mohammed: "I'm sorry sir we tried but because of Obama and what happened on Wall Street, banks just aren't lending like they used to". Then he starts quoting me a price on buying the car outright which would require thousands out-of-pocket just to get to a payment that was gonna be $150 more per month had I leased it. I said thanks for wasting 24 hours of my time and having me run my credit for absolutely nothing and hung up but WAIT, the party doesn't end there. I now have 3 letters in my hand that arrived over the course of the following week all from different outside lenders stating why I was denied credit for financing the above mentioned vehicle and now i'm really PISSED. Who the cfuk gave them permission to submit my credit app to everyone and their mother potentially dragging down my credit score(which apparently is good enough to lease but not own- go figure) and not even for the purpose which it was intended for !!!! I can't say enough bad things about this place which will obviously stop at nothing to extract money out of you. read more

Just bought my first Mazda at Gaithersburg Mazda. I hate car shopping and dread going in and spending hours trying to get a good deal, and all the back and forth you always have to go though. I accompanied my daughter to support her first purchase of a new car/SUV. After visiting Fitzgerald Auto Mall, we had our "no haggle" baseline on a Mazda X5 which was very competitive and a very pleasant experience. Thank you Fitzgerald! We then ventured on to compare pricing and our next stop was Gaithersburg Mazda and Ourisman Mazda in Rockville MD. Wow... What a very different customer experience! While the salesman at Gaithersburg was pleasant, the sales manager (Sam) was nothing short of condescending and rude! We talked about pricing and he accused my daughter and I of trying to "squeeze" him despite his not having the vehicle ( with options we desired) on his lot. We left, Gaithersburg Mazda, under duress and ventured to Ourisman Mazda. What a pleasant surprise to present the sales managers with our quotes and be welcomed with an "how can we help" attitude! We shared our dismay with (Gaithersburg Mazda) and the the sales rep and sales manager were all about how can we help and make a deal. We landed the deal which made us both feel good about the pricing and me much more comfortable about the service! Had an amazing experience at Gaithersburg Mazda. I spent a whole day test driving cars up and down this street but bought the Mazda at the end of the day. Todd was amazing and worked extremely hard to earn the business, which was an amazing feeling since most of the other dealers I visited during Memorial Day weekend seemed like they didn't care if I bought from them or not. Greg was also super amazing at closing the deal and talking me through so cold feet hesitations I was having at the last minute. Bought a mazda3 S grand touring for an amazing price. Amin was awesome in the office too, didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need, and was super fast doing all the paper work to get me out the door. He also went the extra mile to help me figure out the paperwork for my trade in. Even the radio stations cooperated for Mazda that day, which is a story I've told everybody since buying the car. DC 101 played awesome music for both of my test drives when I got nothing but ads and talking for others. Brought my wife in to test drive the next day and the radio was set to 99.5 which likewise played awesome hip hop for her whole test drive. The finance guy Amin Rehman is a complete scam artist. I agreed with the sales guy on an out the door price around $23K. I was told I would be able to finance at 1.9% for 60 months. Being in finance I knew my payments should be around $320 per month. When I went back to Amin's office he had we at payments over $400 per month. Do not to business with these guys they will try to scam you. read more

Well let me start off by saying Jake was the best part of this Mazda Of Gaithersburg experience !!!! If it was not for Jake's Hard work i feel that this would have been a bad yelp review and a lower score he saved the whole deal. He was on top of things. The reason for the mixed review is as with most dealership when you have a issue and once you sign the paperwork every one forgets who you are. This dealer was no exception to that rule i had a issues in the financial office but after letting them know how i felt (raising my voice) the issue was taken care of but i feel it should have been a no issue ordeal. Jake thanks for the had work i know most people only take the time to address the bad but i just wanted to take the time and say great job and thank you for the extra work ordering parts setting up the service appointments looking for the keys and all that you did to make this good experience it really could have went the other direction so easy. read more

I emailed the on-line department through AAA about a used CRV and RAV4. Andrew got back to me in about a day and said they would let me know if they were bought before I got a chance to get in there later that week. Never heard from him again. When I went on site to see the cars, a new salesman Steven came out to help me. He was BRAND new, which seems to be a theme here, second time this has happen to me. He searched for the cars. The RAV4 had been sold but the CRV was found over at Rosenthal Mazda lot, even though it was listed for Acura. The car was FILTHY! Smelled like dog, had dog hair ALL over the interior, there was food crumbs all over the floor. It was obviously being used as a personal vehicle and was never cleaned. It was sold to them (according to MVA) about 3 weeks prior. It also had damage to the front bumper that was not fixed. Even though there was all these cosmetic issues with it, I still was interested and told them I would come back tomorrow and it BETTER be cleaned, detailed and bumper fixed. In the day that passed, I also told them that an outstanding recall needed to be addressed which with A LOT of bickering from a guy named Mike (sales manager?)they did do everything I asked. The next day the bumper looked before but still had a small dent it in, the car was much cleaner but their detail people SUCK. Smeared cleaner and really smelly cleaning products....why did they not just ozone it after cleaning it. I was told that they used contractors and they are not great. So, other than these details, we did buy it. The sales manager on duty the day we bought it was Gary, and he is a charm, very nice, accommodating and very willing to please without being cheesy. Steven our sales guy was a bit flaky once we said we would buy it, he completely disappeared after seeing him for 1 min the day we bought it. I can't imagine going to this Acura again and although Gary made things pleasant, not sure about the Mazda dealership either. read more

After I totaled my car the last thing I wanted to do was go shopping for a new vehicle. I absolutely dreaded it. Because I really wanted a manual transmission, my options were limited. I came up with the Mazda CX-5 as a possibility and after lots of searching I finally found one with a manual transmission at Gaithersburg Mazda. When I called to see if the car was still there, the GM Emad Khanlarbig was extremely accommodating and seemed genuinely interested in finding me the right car. We showed up to the test drive thinking, "We will not be leaving with a car today!" But our salesman Johnathan made the process so easy, personal and - dare I say it - enjoyable, and before we knew it we had the perfect car in front of us. I had a few non-negotiables for the "car of my dreams," and Emad and Johnathan made them happen. Amin made financing much less scary/terrible than it could have been, and I walked out that afternoon with the keys to my new car. I could not be happier!
