My boyfriend and I eat here about twice a week for breakfast, maybe more for him. The food is always excellent. The service is always friendly. They have lots of gluten-free options. Great coffee! Was glad to use the free wifi and we ordered gluten free French toast and a veggie wrap with a gluten free tortilla. The tortilla fell apart and I ate the wrap with a fork but I have no complaints! Was very impressed by the quality of food and cool atmosphere this place provided. My girlfriend and I split pasta and a salad and it was more than enough for the both of us. The food here is so-so, but it's nice when you want a quick and casual sit down lunch. The west lynn location is way better than the triangle. I've never been able to pin down exactly what I don't like about the triangle location, except that it's sort of this gaping space that swallows you and prevents you from enjoying conversation or food. That being said, I like the west lynn location, and LOVE their horchata. Their salads are super fresh and tasty, and all of the ingredients are well thought out. They're well priced, but it's still hard to go here when Cippolina's amazing salad is just across the street. read more

As a man who lives in Clarksville and generally refuses to cook for himself, I come here a lot. I love the ordering at the entrance and quick service. The servers are quick and very nice. The menu is a fairly typical American cafe with burgers and wraps. They make excellent sandwiches too (I recommend the turkey and brie) and the sweet potato fries are delicious. I guess my knock on them is that the outdoor seating is very limited but the inside has pretty good ambiance. If you're looking for a quick, peaceful meal in Clarksville definitely look Galaxy's direction. read more

Because they have 2 registers and the always have only 1 cashier. Most of the other employees are stocking glass, cookie instead of taking orders, even when the line is out the door. They use the second register for take-orders, they should have a register in the back for take-out, we waited 20 minutes to place order,, think this is the last time we go to lunch here. Food is great and well priced. The self service concept is nice bc the place is not over crowded and all the hassle of waiters is avoided. The Denver was really great-the potatoes were surprisingly flavorful and the eggs were perfectly cooked and well complemented by the veggies. I've been to the Galaxy Cafe 4+ times (both at this location and the one in the triangle) and every time I go I find something I really love--but what's strange is that's it's rarely the main course? Don't get me wrong, the mains are good, but they're just generally pretty bland/nothing special. I've had several different types of main; 2 pasta dishes, the chicken sandwich, and been with people who had the Buddha bowl and bleu cheese burger, and they're all always good, but not great. HOWEVER, there are amazing things to be had. The whipped sweet potatoes are literally one of my favorite sides almost anywhere in austin. They are incredibly fluffy and light, with the sweetest spices and just absolutely delicious. The shallot dressing for the side salad is amazing. I can't say enough about how great the desserts are, they're rich and the cookies are huge. Also, although not gluten-free myself, they have one of the most extensive gluten free menus I've seen in Austin, which is great for anyone who is looking for those options! Overall I like the Galaxy cafe and always have a good meal, I just wish the mains could live up to everything else, especially given the fact that you can expect to pay 12-15 bucks for nearly every option. For the steeper price, they definitely could be punched up a bit. But everything else is great, including the atmosphere of the restaurant itself. read more

I called in a to go order at 12:30 and was told it would be about 5-10 minutes. Arrived at 12:40 it still wasn't done, they said it needed just another minute. I finally got my food at 1:00 and got all the way to my car only to realize it was not the correct order. I brought it back inside and waited another 20 minutes for my corrected meal. The manager brought me a $5 gift card for the mix up, which didn't do much to make me happy after over 40 minutes of waiting. I finally got my turkey sandwich, which was a disappointing 2 slices of meat, without the avocado that I had ordered. I didn't even go back inside for the avocado; I was too annoyed. Usually galaxy cafe is fast and gets the order right, but today was a mess. read more

I visited the West Lynn Galaxy location Thursday night for dinner. This was my first time at this location, but have visited the south Austin location about 10 times during July. From the moment I walked up to order I was blown away with how sincere the staff was. Having Crohn's disease and an almond allergy can make ordering stressful. They were beyond accommodating, allowed me to try a sample of a side dish, made suggestions of what to order, and checked in after my food came to the table. As I continue to be impressed with Galaxy, this by far was my favorite visit. Thanks Galaxy West staff and cooks for being amazing! read more

My first trip to this Austin local Cafe was pretty great. Looks ok from outside, but inside decor is pretty neat. Galaxy cafe has elegant and classy decor on the inside. Prices for meals are not too expensive, even from a college students point of view. I had their Mediterranean breakfast, and it was good. Portions are decently sized, so don't expect to fill yourself up to the neck. Their service is fast. I'll be visiting here soon again, and would definitely recommend it as well. read more

I venture to Galaxy monthly, as it's in the neighborhood (Clarksville), and quite yummy. The interior is fun, the people working the counter are always nice, and if you find something on the menu that suits ya, the food is pretty good. Zocalo burgers are always good, the creme brulee seems to go from good, to not so good depending upon the day (different cooks I'm assuming). The mashed sweet potatoes, when they have them, are divine. The fish wrap, described in the menu as being "lightly fried" came out as super greasy, the one and only time I ever ordered it. Galaxy would get 5 stars, if only their creme brulee wasn't so variable. I would say their prices are quite high, but considering the location, and how high are property taxes are in the neighborhood, I totally get it. read more

Best Chicken Tortilla Soup ever! Galaxy uses the freshest ingredients and the atmosphere is great. Their service is always friendly and prompt and I have never been disappointed by their food. My personal favorites are the chicken tortilla soup, Chimichurri steak, and the fish wrap (which I ask for grilled). For the sides, the mac n' cheese and sweet potato fries are really spot on. This place is really close to my workplace and the prices are affordable as well. I have been to other locations, but I especially like this Clarksville location. read more

I think the Galaxy Cafe offers the best veggie burger in Austin. I've had other delicious items from their menu (meatloaf is particularly yummy), but I keep coming back to the veggie burger. The Galaxy Cafe is not even in my neighborhood, but I come from West Lake/Bee Cave area every chance I get. It's worth the drive!
