It has been years since I have been to the Galaxy theatre. In fact, I got lost going to the theatre as thought it was in another location on Middlefiskville Road. Fortunately, Middlefiskville Road is a short street and I was able to find the theatre before previews started playing. My book club's discussion in January is The Housemaid, q psychological thriller by Freida McFadden. When speaking with a Yelp friend, we learned we both had read the book and decided to see the movie based on the book. The movie follows pretty closely to the book with some minor changes. The theatre was exactly how I remembered it to be. Galaxy is in a funky location...in a small strip mall west of IH35 near Burlington Coat Factory. At 7 pm, the theatre was extremely quiet with no one in the lobby and one couple in our theatre. Highly recommend the book and movie...

    Seats seriously need reupholstering

Comfy seats that have a good recline but seriously need some reupholstering. I like how these seats recline further back and are well padded but with the lights on they look like they like they should be at a junk yard. The theater I was in 1/2 the seating is dbox and the other half is not. The dbox seating is in the back half and the regular recline is in the front half. Popcorn was stale as usual in these multiplexes so might skip and save $10. They have icees which is always a treat. The theater is kept pretty clean and if you go midweek you might get the screen all to yourself.

Movie theater seats broken and worn at Galaxy Theaters.

My family spent $85 on tickets thinking we were getting seats like the pictures in the reviews. We couldn't have been more deceived. Just look at these seats, so disgusting. I understand basic wear and tear, but this is not worth the $85 we spent. Save your money or at least spend it where the seats aren't falling apart.

Movie was great! (Deadpool+Wolverine) Popcorn was old. The theater room was warm and we had to tell the staff to turn AC on. (Felt like it wasn't). The staff was arguing in front of us. Not serious but unnecessary for us to hear. Love the seats! Soft leather and the reclining seats were good. Clean restroom.

The seats here are so comfortable and they recline. I didn't know that before arriving.  And, even sitting in the back row, the view of the screen is great. The theatre is clean and modern and has multiple screens. The concession stand will sell you the pre-requisite over-priced popcorn along with candy and cookies.  But you don't have to settle for soft drinks; beer and wine is available here too. There is a large parking lot, which was great, but it wasn't lit well-enough at night. Also, to note, tickets are purchased inside. The original ticket windows just have notices and the movie times in them.

Screen 5 entry - very modern look

Came here for a pre-release screening of A Million Miles Away (which I very highly recommend). But this review is of the theater. It's clean and modern looking. The staff were extremely friendly. The beer was cold (a full point of Electric Jellyfish Hazy IPA). The restrooms were clean. We arrived at noon on a Saturday and the lines were very short. In the theater, the aisles are spacious. There are no bad seats. Each seat has a table and drink holder, and a button that allows you to partially or fully recline. The sound was good. We were happy. I don't know that they offer the latest for cutting edge special effects movies like IMAX 3D, etc. But for most movies this place is perfect. And they also offer classic movie favorites at a great price mid-week, like The Terminator for just $5 :-) In short, this is my kind of theater. Not a place to have dinner. Not a noisy, over-crowded metroplex filled with large crowds and very long lines. There's no bowling alley here. No arcade or pool hall. It's just a really nice place to see a movie in a comfy chair, with some nice popcorn or snacks, coupled with a soda or an alcoholic beverage. Nice!

    Sunil R.

This is an OK theater. Not one of those modern ones that has special screen and audio options and also a big set of food and drinks options. It is a smaller theater with standard food options (popcorn, tenders, nachos etc) that gets the job done. Friendly staff.

I could not use my phone to scan the QR code to order the coffee because it was dark. I pressed the button and waited forever for someone to come and take my order. Then my friend arrived and went through the exact same thing. Even when I did finally get a menu on my phone, it was overcomplicated to order. Seems like something that should be easy by now. Considering the number of other theaters that do in seat ordering. I'd go back and perhaps have a better time now that I know the lay the land.

Service is easy and convenient. You can push a button if you need something or just order from your phone without missing anything. The lobby is also a nice place to hang out before or after your movie with a full bar, a pool table, and plenty of family games to play. Prices are pretty comparable to other theaters of the kind, so it doesn't feel like a big splurge. Just a really enjoyable spot for a movie night.

However, while my brother-in-law was visiting, we decided to take him to see Supergirl at Regal Gateway. It wasn't our first choice, but there weren't many other options playing at the time. To be honest, the movie pleasantly surprised us. It was very well done and went beyond the typical sci-fi storyline. The film explored themes of revenge, friendship, protection, and compassion. One unique aspect was that Supergirl didn't actually put on her iconic costume until the very end of the movie, which was an interesting departure from the usual superhero formula. By the time the credits rolled, our family left the theater happy with the outcome. One thing that really stood out was the ticket-buying experience...it was completely people-free. Instead of purchasing tickets from a cashier, we used kiosks located in the theater lobby. You simply select your movie, pay with a credit card, and receive your ticket. In fact, you can even order concessions through the kiosk. Times are certainly changing! Gone are the days of standing in line at the box office to buy tickets. Today, you can purchase them online or at a kiosk when you arrive. I have to admit, though, that I miss the personal interaction. There's something nice about speaking with a real person and not having to navigate the technology yourself just to buy a movie ticket.

The IMAX format doesn't fit well in this room as seating is too low, it's too small and the screen is too big. I asked for another seat but it was sold out so I just bailed before it even started so I can watch on a screen where people's faces and legs don't look 2X as long and skewed with odd perspective. Should have asked for a refund. If you do go here for IMAX try for seats in row F. Seating was very nice, it was clean, and people were friendly, but that IMAX format simply doesn't work in this smaller room format.

When they arrived, they were stopped at the concession stand and accused of committing fraud because the tickets were purchased on someone else's account. The employee who confronted them handled the situation in a very aggressive and unnecessary way. As an A-List member, I've never been questioned or harassed like this at the front concession stand. It felt like the situation was blown completely out of proportion. Instead of focusing on real issues, my family members were put in an uncomfortable and embarrassing position over tickets that were legitimately purchased. They did speak with the manager, Miguel, who was polite and tried to help, and I appreciate that. However, the situation still wasn't fully resolved and the tickets were not refunded despite the negative experience. AMC needs to make sure employees understand that tickets purchased through an account can be shared with friends or family. Needless to say a lot has changed since our last review of this Alamo location from 2017! Even though we hadn't written updated reviews, we nonetheless noticed (of course) that Alamo had consistently gotten worse over the years. However, our experience last week has confirmed that we will never ever be back here again. This place is the pits. The only reason we went is because someone got us a gift card. We bought our tickets, and there was a $7 "convenience fee" like we are in 1998. But then, we get to the theatre, and--JOKE'S ON US because we had no idea that this had happened--you do everything through a QR now. Are you kidding??? How much soul can you suction out of a business!?! The whole point of this whole enterprise was to use the fun little pencils, write your order down, and have the charming experience of HUMAN INTERACTION. Now, you have your phone out--yes, haha that they mention the irony after the bazillion ads we had to sit through!--and there is an automatic 18% tip included. Wowza! The menu is way more limited and even more overpriced than one could imagine. Hope you liked Toy Story 5! Oh, AND FYI, if you forget to close out your tab, they add a 5% ADDITIONAL tip within 20 minutes of the movie closing. I mean, this place truly, truly hates its customers. I noticed they did have a bar area with some cocktails that looked appealing, but I didn't see a price point. The theater was very small and could not accommodate many people for a movie screening.
