I'm rating this from years of going to Galaxy. I haven't been this year recently but am hoping that they still have the pickle jar pickles and amazing popcorn powders they always offer. I love that they carry the Valentina Hot Sauce for us customers that love putting hot sauce on our popcorn! They are the best and staff are always very friendly and kind! I went to a movie theater where they said they didn't sell any pickles any longer, I was completely dissapointed. But Galaxy Theaters never fail us! Love this theatre! First time and boy am I impressed by snacks, theatre size, and super comfy seats! The popcorn bucket has a cool bowl top that's great for sharing! The seats also recline like truly almost into laying down and has a little tray table. It was pretty quiet and empty for a Friday night although it was also late, but I like it that way. Seats are assigned which I also like so I can sit away from others lol. Best part is when I checked in I got a free popcorn coupon! Definitely recommend for a lowkey outing or date read more

I was in town and my friend wanted to see The Little Mermaid. The other theaters were sold out so I chose this one. At first, when we pulled up, I thought I was duped because the building next to it was boarded up. However if you drive a little more up, you see it. The popcorn was the best part! But the theater is clean, seats are comfy and there is plenty of room even though in a theater of unsold seats someone sat directly next to me! The food is expensive FOR NO REASON Extremely low quality food,the chicken tenders are just ground up chicken fried , Lower then the quality of McDonald's with non of the flavor. Went here for the first time for date night and saw Ant-Man. We got the D-Box tickets which I would definitely recommend! The seats move with the action that happens in the movie and it was a really cool experience. The seats recline but the arm rest are super small and my nachos fell off the side of them, lol. I love Galaxy Highland. I have loved Galaxy Highland for years and love it even more since it's lovely facelift. The staff is incredibly wonderful and sweet (Hey, Veronica!), the pretzels cannot be beat, popcorn is the best in town and I could go on for days. It's one of my favorite spots for a getaway or date night in Austin. The ONLY complaint I have - and pleeeeease let this be included in the facelift process - is their bathrooms. They are so old and outdated and just icky. That would be the only reason I couldn't give them a five star review. read more

They hit it out of the park with their selection of "Companion", a soon to be released movie. This movie itself had lots of surprises within it. Love taking a drive from Bastrop Texas to Galaxy 10, Austin Texas to watch a movie. Theatre always is clean and great sound quality. the service, food and popcorn is beyond amazing. the workers are always so pleasant each time that I have visited with family or by myself. the DBox theatre is my favorite to watch movies but I have to meet the luxury seating is great as well. I only ended up here because of the Fast series showing. It's a good theater option but the seats, though recliners, were super comfortable - the legs slide out but the back doesn't tilt up. Also, you have to enter/exit on one aisa not two ends, disturbing everyone. And oh, the bathrooms - eww. read more

It has been SOOOO long (decades) since I have been to an old skool (yeah, that's the way I roll) theater! What a treat! Galaxy 10 is shockingly well kept - especially considering the rest of the shopping center that surrounds it. It is clean, not run down, has a neat little arcade area including pinball (yay!), great classic concession stand with that "real" fake popcorn butter that you can asked for extra of (um, that was my husband, just sayin'), loads of candy, and yes, the $5 3-gallon soda that "only costs an extra 25 cents" than the 2-gallon size and comes with free refills. ;) ...and they also have an array of powdered "butters" and flavors popcorn toppings you could want! Cool! The screening room itself was surprisingly huge and had stadium-style seating with really comfy, cushy chairs that slightly reclined. The screen itself was extra large and the sound system was very modern and simply fantastic. Highly impressed with the overall experience! If I'm ever in the area, and in the mood to view a flick, Galaxy 10 will be the place for me. I came here with friends on a whim to watch 'Last Christmas' this past weekend. The theater isn't the most glamorous (especially the restrooms), but the staff are friendly enough and they have all the usual concessions. The theater has reclining chairs installed, which was also really nice. Overall, my viewing experience was really good here. The chairs were comfortable, and the rows were constructed in a way where you didn't have to worry about someone in front of you blocking your view or blocking the view of those behind you. The chairs also had very convenient and sturdy tables that were big enough for me to put stuff on, but not too big to the point where I felt like they were obstructing me. That's a really tiny detail, but I appreciated it. read more

My peeps! Just left Galaxy Theatre after having headed over there to use my birthday gift card to see Indiana Jones with a friend. We were unprepared for the anti-disabled, discriminatory reception concerning handicapped seating, which, if you're familiar with the Galaxy is but one short row. These days only four seats make up that row, and they aren't even designated as handicapped. The management expects handicapped folks to provide their own wheelchair to sit in when they're seeing a movie. When we arrived, the two seats in the middle of that row had been sold, and the other two seats, at either end of the row and on the other side of the empty spaces for wheelchairs were the only available seats. We tried to get the manager to let my friend sit in a chair next to one of the unsold seats, but he flatly refused. We probably won't be going back to the Galaxy in the future, so please don't get me any more Galaxy gift cards. I would never be treated like this at an Alamo. read more

Went here to see the new Top Gun movie opening weekend with a group. Overall was an okay experience, the seats and theater were clean but the picture quality itself was subpar. The sound was good and you felt some vibration in the theater probably from the "dbox" motion seats you can pay extra to have. I will say, I was never once asked for a ticket. Signs said the concession staff will help with tickets but even when I ordered popcorn I was never asked for a ticket or directed to a theater. This was alarming from a security standpoint as anyone could walk in without a ticket and also from a customer service standpoint. Overall the theater seemed understaffed, the lobby was a little dated and they were not serving alcohol due to TABC issues. read more

Plus 1 and I had a great night out here as we were part of the Yelp Bohemian Rhapsody sneak preview event. Our check in was smooth and we got to avoid the line wrapped around the building. I came here for an advanced screening of a movie and although I was running a little late, the staff was really nice about it and giving me directions to streamline things. The theater seats are really nice and fully recline, which you can't find at a lot of theaters. The food is pretty expensive, more than Cinemark and Alamo Drafthouse at least. I probably wouldn't come here again because it's kind of far from where I live and doesn't offer and perks experience wise or cost wise (I can get a decent sized meal and a soda with refills for less at Alamo where I usually go), but it's a nice theater if you're in the area! They've done significant upgrades to this theater with New luxury seating. The recliners are pretty swank, but i don't love having to select my seat at purchase (this seems to be the major tend these days so it's not just Galaxy). Sound and projection is fine overall but at least one of their theaters has a distracting damaged screen. I appreciate that they it offer topo now but at $4 I feel a little too taken advantage of to buy it. I'm a totally Harry Potter junkie. I read the books, I've watched all the movies, I came this short of getting a lightning bolt tattooed on my forehead. So when my friend Sylvia P suggested we check out le Harry Potter at Galaxy, I was psyched. And this is why: A. Dr. Pepper Icees. Hell yeah B. A free refill on large drinks and large popcorn in case the first bucket wasnt enough C. Popcorn flavorings. Prefer white cheddar, parm garlic or caramel cinnamon? There's a seasoning bar with 6 flavors D. Huge aisles. So when the person in the middle of the row who just got their second refill on the large Diet Coke has to go to the bathroom, you've got tons of knee room E. It's empty. I mean, really empty. We were one of 6 people in the whole theater for a 7pm Sunday movie. Win! F. The screens. You've read about them but the quality is really great. I dont know sh!t about sh!t and I could tell the difference. G. The stadium seating is definitely clutch but that's a personal pref. After reading the other reviews, I do feel compelled to mention that this isn't a new theater. It has that funny theater smell and the ridiculous rainbow carpet. So why the five stars? I didnt have the crowd control issues or any problem with the movie. Plus I was just impressed with the way they're differentiating themselves. And pro-tip: sign up for their newsletter and get a free small complimentary popcorn. read more

I give Galaxy Highland 10 a 3.5 stars, it nearly makes a 4 w/ a few exceptions. I guess this movie theater has the latest and greatest DLP projectors, but to tell you the truth I can't really differentiate that much btwn the two. I know digital has better surround sound and quality of picture, however, I've never really had a bad movie experience where the sound or picture was bad enough to complain. I know digital can be grainy at times (if you look closely you can see it), and film does have it's kinks in btwn scenes, but to me it's not a disruption. Why I like this place: - I believe their ticket prices (student) are a little cheaper than Gateway and other theaters (maybe by $0.25 or 0.50). - They offer more selection of foods (nachos, dogs), but I avoid these items since I don't want to experience heartburn or any bowel discomfort in the middle of the movie. - They have an assortment of popcorn flavored toppings which is awesome! You sprinkle the stuff on: kettle corn, ranch (salty), sour cream & onion, nacho cheese, parmesan garlic, and butter flavors. My favs are kettle (sweet) & nacho - I mix them up. - You can count on this place always showing a later movie time than other theaters. It's common to see an 11:59pm show weekly whereas most theaters do not (although Alamo does). - They have nice comfortable seating, they recline and the arm can be folded up so you and your hunny bunny can snuggle. Cons: - The late night patrons that frequent this place can be somewhat rambunctious and loud at times, and there's always some type of incident or fuss going. I've been to a couple of midnight movies and was leery about my car, however, nothing has happened to date (knock-knock). I always park where it's well lit and haven't encounted any issues to date. - Customer service - isn't that great, it's full of young people that don't seem that happy to be working there (?? FREE MOVIES & POPCORN??). - You'll spend more $ on the popcorn and drinks than you will the movie ticket. I know it's like this everywhere, but my bill was $10.50 for a large popcorn and large drink. That may be the same everywhere I guess. I still visit Galaxy Highland regularly since it's relatively closeby and I like the late movies and the popcorn toppers, so to me it's still all good in the hood. read more
