I seen great reviews and photos of this spot and decided to make the quick drive from my office. The line was super long but, was moving quick! I figured, it has to be great since it was busy. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Their concept is great, simple menu items without substitutions and two types of soup. I ordered the Market sandwich which featured jalapeno slaw, chicken and ciabatta bread. The bread was surprisingly soft but, the chicken was overcooked and didn't have much flavor. The slaw wasn't a slaw at all, more of a spring mix salad with mayo! I didn't taste any jalapeno in the slaw. The tomato soup I ordered was okay but, nothing memorable about it. Would I go out of my way to come here again? No, but try it, you might enjoy it!

Mr. Mustache was such a hidden gem and I mean hidden. It took me a solid few minutes to actually find the place, but once I did, I completely understood why people line up here for lunch every day. I'm visiting from out of town and genuinely obsessed. The sandwich I got was so fresh and flavorful, with that perfect balance of crisp greens, melty cheese, and juicy chicken on the softest bread. Everything just tasted intentional and high-quality. If I lived in LA, this would 100% be my go-to lunch spot. It's exactly what the downtown sandwich scene needed, simple, creative, and absolutely delicious. Just be warned if they are busy and you need a receipt they may send you the completely wrong one!

December 11, 2025: The lady who takes the food orders was very rude to me and embarrassed me. I grabbed extra napkins and she loudly called me DIRTY and that I couldn't touch the napkins that are clearly right there in the photo for customers to take. In case the napkins aren't supposed to be touched by customers, there are many polite ways to communicate that to me. It was a long line and people around and everyone heard me being called DIRTY and I work nearby and I'm dressed in my professional attire as well? Regardless though of how I look no one should ever be disrespectful to say that to anyone. This is not okay at all in anyway and I highly demand a response regarding this situation that occurred today.

I got the soup & sandwich combo. Went on a Friday so the line wasn't long. Service was fast. The soup was not spicy but has a kick. There was a lot of bread on the sandwich but it was fresh and warm so it was filling and not as dry as I thought it would be.

This is solid sandwich shop which operates mostly as take-out. I've been here a few times for lunch and absolutely love their sandwiches. It has no name in front, so it's easy to miss. I've passed by it numerous times, until a friend told me about it. It's located bottom level of Paul Hasting's building, near Robek and Cilantro Grill. Just look for a line of people in front and a gal taking orders behind the small counter. Don't get deterred by long line, it actually goes by fast and service is super quick. My last few visits I was in and out in less than minute. Prices for sandwiches are very affordable at $8.50 and they are quite big too. My favorites are the herb and market chicken sandwiches which I always pair with small cup of tomato bisque. The perfect match indeed, I imagine them holding hands and skipping off into the sunset. Both sandwiches are delicious and flavor profile is excellent. I love sun dried tomato so I'm more favorable to herb chicken, but market is just as good because it has bacon. What makes their sandwiches so special is freshly baked ciabatta bun giving them crisp and warm texture. I was totally amazed how good they were when I had one for the first time. I'm not big into sandwiches, but Mr. Mustache's sandwich has won me over. They also have 2 other sandwiches on menu (packed tuna and mozzarella/tomato) and salads which I have yet to try. Can't wait to come back....

Went here for a quick lunch away from the office with some colleagues. Don't be intimidated by the long line because this place is a machine and will get you in and out with your sandwich in less than 7 minutes even with a long line. I really appreciated the fresh ingredients - toasted ciabatta, fresh turkey meat (not deli), arugula, and bacon in the Market Chicken sandwich. My biggest tip is to order extra sauce on the side in case the sandwich comes out a bit dry. Contemplate your order before getting to the register and save yourself the stress of ordering but not knowing what you want! They want to keep the line moving for everyone else which is why this place is great for a quick bite for office workers on lunch hour!

Don't be deterred by the line as it moves quickly. The service wasn't great as they were trying to keep the line moving. We went early but somehow they didn't have caesar dressing. The cashier made me a salad without it and seemed a bit perturbed when I declined a caesar salad with no caesar dressing. The soup was the best item I ordered. I think it was corn chowder. It had a nice mild spice to it. The star of course is the sandwich. It's basically all bread but the bread is very fresh. I don't particularly enjoy sandwiches that are bread heavy but this one was pretty good. The harvest chicken is a bit soft on flavor, but still worth a try. Overall, great quality for the price. You can actually try all 3 options for like $20.

Ask the Community - Mr. Mustache

    What are their hours?

Their hours are Monday through Friday, closed on the weekends at Flower anyway. Open from 11 am - 3pm .

Are you open on the weekends and what is the schedule hours?

They are closed on the weekends at 505 Flower. Only Monday through Friday.

Was there yesterday, July 6, and was closed. Anyone know if it's permanent or just a day off for Mr. Mustache?

    Day off

Are you back open downstairs in the plaza of 505 s flower?? I hope I heard correctly! That was the best lunch place around!

It's open again but in a different location in the same basement.

Does anyone know if he is still there, after the pandemic?

It looks to have closed down in the underground food plaza. He was talking about relocating, but I don't think it worked out.

During a…read morelazy afternoon after visiting the Pantheon in Rome, we had our first experience with All'Antico after taking a 5 minute walk down the road. They actually had 2 separate locations flanking the pedestrian road, so there were two long lines snaking out in opposite directions. While we were waiting in line, we bumped into a couple from Spain who were also visiting. They gave my wife some personal recommendations, advising we get the blood orange soda with our sandwiches. After getting said sandwiches (the La Paradiso), we nibbled on them while walking to Sant'Ignazio of Loyola Church, which is that cathedral where there's a mirror directed up towards the murals on the ceiling and a huge selfie line. Hot damn were those sandwiches good. The thinly sliced mortadella paired perfectly with that buttery, green pistachio spread. The only challenge for my taste buds was the mild oral trauma I sustained from punching through the crispy bread; your gums started to feel it by the time you devoured your sandwich. But we liked it so much that when we later took the train to Florence, we sought All'Antico again at their original location. I thought that would be my last experience with All'Antico (unless, of course, I came back to Italy). So imagine my surprise when later that year I heard All'Antico had coincidentally opened a branch in Los Angeles, although rather awkwardly situated in Koreantown. Even though we live 30 minutes away, we made the drive immediately. There was no way this remote All'Antico location, thousands of miles from Italy, would live up to the experience I had in Rome earlier that year. But I was mistaken. Not only is the taste spot on, but the bread they serve is actually chewier and removed the gum calisthenics I suffered in Italy. And yes, they also have the blood orange soda as well. It's a little weird their location is in Koreatown, but not a big deal; we'll usually do a bingsu run afterward. Just like their locations in Italy, All'Antico is small but they do have a small collection of bar seats, some of which overlook the staff as they're making your sandwich. Be mentally prepared though to take it to go depending on how busy it is. Parking sucks too; there's street parking only, but if you come on Sunday you don't have to pay. Every so often now, we'll make the 30 minute drive just to relive that slice of Italy we experienced nearly 2 years ago. Thankfully, not a lot of people recognize how good this place is yet, as the lines aren't crazy long like they are in Italy. For all the other Yelpers in on it too, let's keep it our little secret for now.

It was getting late, so while I waited for the kid in the car at their activity, I went on The Heights website found an order form and placed an order for some sammies all in 5 minutes. I didn't even ask the hubs or the vegetarian kid what they wanted. I went with what I thought they'd like. 15-minutes later, I was picking the sandwiches up at the walk-in only shop. There was no line and better yet, they were wrapped up and ready to go when I walked in. The smiling lady asked if I wanted napkins or utensils. They have case after case of cold drinks so we picked out a couple of drinks, paid for those and left. It was easy and fast. Enjoyed the yumminess at home. I normally would save a half for another meal but my "Pasadena" hit the spot that I finished it up all at once. Quality bread, meats, cheese, fillings aka all the ingredients...to boot! PS the kid loved theirs and so did the hub. Thanks for making dinner: easy and delicious! There are no pictures because it was too delicious to take the time out and take any. Just order.
