I absolutely loved this supermarket!!! Especially for their weekly sales items, really good deals. We bought this frozen shrimp bag that was on sale, and it has to be some of the best shrimp I've had. We got the 5lb bag of King Arthur flour on sale for 2.99!!! I've never seen it that cheap before. We also got coffee on sale at a great price, their deals are worth the visit for sure.

In general, I can find anything I need over here, as long as you stay within the realms of western cooking. So, what that entails I can pork loins for a roast. I can find brisket, I can find chuck, I can find...................really thin cuts of ribeye. Like...really really thin. Like, so thin that I could probably cook it medium rare by waving it above my computer case once or twice. Ok, sorry, I digress. If you want to make a ragu sauce, you can find everything that you need here. An alfredo sauce? Yup, that too. Beef stew? Go for it! It also has all the chicken and spices you'd need to make a fried chicken. It does have an international section, but it's..............not impressive. I mean, sure, there's some items, but you can't make a proper anything, tbh. Miso soup? We got half of what you need! Ramen? Uhhh, we got instant. Also have Ramune and Calpis for the weebs. That said, they do have panko if you want to make a katsu. They do have a pretty good produce section. Like, decent selection of fruits that are in season. Plenty of bell peppers, red, orange, yellow, and green. I can usually get jalapenos and habaneros here, although if you're looking for other types of chili peppers, it can be hit or miss. And the habaneros are sometimes still green. No real produce for Asian cooking here (except for shiitake mushrooms), so you won't find anything like burdock root or daikon...maybe bok choy or kabocha every so often. The spice section is pretty nice. Good, wide selection. Most of them are in pretty small containers, though. So if you need anything other than pre-ground cassia (I refuse to call that stuff cinnamon) in a large quantities, you might be out of luck. But...because the spices are in small containers, it's great for sampling. Most of the time when I come here, I like to grab a spice I haven't used before, haven't used in a long time, or haven't learned how to use properly.

Placed a large pickup order (for 15 of us) to be retrieved on the day we arrive for a week long…read morefamily vacation in Narragansett. The ordering process is organized well. Four items were out of stock, and the shopper texted us with substitutions which we could approve or not. The website states, "We offer convenient delivery options and pickup in as little as 2 hours when you order either on our app or stopandshop.com. Get groceries on your schedule by letting our professionally trained associates do the heavy lifting. Leave something behind? No problem, you can continue to add items to your cart after checkout up until the day before your delivery or 2 hours before your pickup time." A pickup day/time is selected. Pickup was efficient. The order --many paper bags-- was placed in the SUV at the appointed time by a friendly worker. This Stop and Shop market is super sized which is great for a resort area near beaches and the coast. There are many departments including a bakery and large deli. There is a large produce area. Also, the market is part of a large NE chain, so not only are prices competitive, they are the same at all locations. There is no price gouging. There is a weekly flyer with items in all departments on sale each week. We have a frequent shopper card, so we receive the sale prices. They have a gas price reduction system based on points earned, if interested.

When he eventually proceeded to help me, he then told me to download the stop and shop app but I told him I needed the physical flyer for my grandmother. The worker ended up giving me attitude and told me it's near the online orders, insinuating that I should go find it myself. The worker acted as if it was a problem that I was asking for assistance. I DO NOT recommend this store!

Aldi is the kind of grocery store that rewards the prepared shopper and I say that with admiration…read more You bring your own bags, you bring your quarter for the cart, and in return, Aldi brings you something rare in retail: consistency, clarity, and value without the fluff. Let's start with the layout. Whether I'm in Missouri or Maine, stepping into an Aldi feels like slipping into a familiar rhythm. The aisles are predictably arranged, the signage is direct, and the essentials--milk, eggs, produce, pantry staples--are right where I expect them. That uniformity isn't just convenient; it's comforting. I know where my stuff is, and I don't waste time wandering. Now, about the prices. Aldi is inexpensive, not cheap. That distinction matters. Cheap implies corner-cutting, i.e., flimsy packaging, questionable quality, or a race to the bottom. Inexpensive means smart sourcing, streamlined operations, and a no-frills approach that passes the savings on to you. Aldi's store-brand products often rival national brands in taste and quality, and the savings are real. You won't find loyalty programs or coupon gimmicks here. Just straightforward pricing that respects your budget. The quarter-for-a-cart system? Brilliant. It keeps the parking lot tidy and the overhead low. And the bag-your-own-groceries model? It's a small trade-off for the kind of prices that make you feel like you've outsmarted the system. I'm a huge fan. Aldi doesn't try to be everything. It just tries to be good at what it does. In a world of bloated supermarkets and performative retail, that kind of focus feels refreshingly honest. [Review 1081 of 2025 - 86 in Rhode Island - 24635 overall]
