I was unexpectedly thrust into a car search recently, after losing my company car. This was NOT something I was looking forward to, as I've had many bad experiences in the past. Luckily, this all changed when I ventured over to Gallagher! They had a unique crossover vehicle that I'd been in search of to accommodate my large family. I met with Frank Prusinowski, who was welcoming and helpful right from the beginning. Without hesitation (and sales pressure), he let me test out the vehicle for a night, and he provided me with a plethora of information about the vehicle history. After we decided to purchase the vehicle, he was very reasonable in negotiating a fair deal. The entire process was just very smooth, and easy! Compared to experiences I've had at other local dealerships in the past, it was refreshing to work with someone who didn't try to 'strong arm' and up sell every step of the way. Don't buy a car from them! The sales manager sold us a car with a known problem and it took months for them to fix it. Now we have a different problem and no warranty on it even though the sales manager told us we will get 12 month shop warranty but instead the sold us warranty for $$$$$. We cancelled that warranty thinking they had given us 12 months warranty but it turns out they gave us 3 months so now we are stuck with any problems the car has. Skip that business! Extremely Disappointing Experience with Service Advisor Amanda Smith at Gallagher GMC I have been a loyal Gallagher GMC service customer for the past two years, bringing my truck in every 3-4 months for routine maintenance. However, after today's experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere--both for service and the purchase of my next vehicle when my lease ends in a few months. I initially had a pleasant experience with the service advisor who assisted me earlier in the day. However, when I arrived to pick up my truck, I was shocked to see my bill exceed $450 for a routine oil change and an engine light diagnosis. Upon questioning the charges, Amanda Smith informed me that a fuel injector service had been performed--an upsell item that I never requested, nor was I asked about when my advisor called me earlier. When I calmly pointed this out, Amanda's attitude immediately turned defensive and dismissive. Rather than acknowledging the issue or offering a solution, she repeatedly insisted that she "didn't handle my account" and that I would need to pay the full amount and call back tomorrow to dispute the charge. When I explained--again, very politely--that it wasn't fair to force me to pay for an unauthorized service and then take additional time to seek reimbursement, she responded by raising her voice, speaking slowly and condescendingly, and continuing to deflect responsibility. I then asked for a manager--only to be told that she was the manager. Even more concerning was her response when I pointed out that it wasn't fair to me as the innocent party, her response was that it was fair to her being "stuck in the middle" of this situation. I had to remind her that as a manager, she is not stuck in the middle because she has a responsibility as a leader to resolve customer issues. Instead of demonstrating professionalism or customer service skills, she claimed that it "wasn't fair to her" to be in this situation. I had to suggest maybe attempting to call my advisor on his cell to ask him if I was being truthful. She first responded - "if I call him and he doesn't answer then you'll still have to pay it." After multiple requests, she finally (and reluctantly) called my original service advisor, who immediately confirmed that he never discussed or authorized the additional service with me. Only then did Amanda agree to remove the charge--without so much as an apology for the poor experience, the incorrect charge, or her unacceptable attitude. Customer service is not complicated--simply be professional, courteous, and respectful. Unfortunately, Amanda failed on all counts. A manager should be capable of resolving issues fairly, taking ownership of mistakes, and treating customers with respect, yet she showed none of those qualities today. Her attitude and approach were not only unprofessional but also completely misaligned with the customer service values that Gallagher GMC claims to uphold. I truly hope this review reaches someone in leadership who can address this glaring gap in service quality and ensure that Amanda receives the necessary training in customer relations and leadership. It should start with the basic ability to acknowledge mistakes and say, "I'm sorry." Gallagher GMC has now lost my business--not because of a pricing issue (although she charged me well over $300 just to tell me why my check engine light was on), but because of how I was treated. I can't speak on the sales department, but the service department is top notch. Amanda is the best! I LOVE my Sierra 2500, but it's diesel and requires specialized maintenance and repairs (which are rare). Gallagher is my go-to. They are thorough and take great care of my truck, and to top it off, they always seem to squeeze me in quickly and the whole team is a pleasure to deal with. I am writing to make you aware of the situation I am dealing with. I leased a 2020 Buick Enclave in August two years ago. Recently, I've noticed a huge defect with my vehicle. It looks like the car has some type of mechanical issue as it is right above where there are plugs above one wheel. It honestly looks like it got over-heated, and left a similar pattern on the side going up above the wheel. There is also a slight puncture whole on same side above the tire. When I brought the car in to be evaluated, I had to wait as they had no rental car for me. The service person came out and asked if I had done the damage to the car, and if I had been in some type of accident. That has never been the case. Why would I lease a car and damage it? I even purchased the exterior damage policy in case of scratches etc. He said he sees it all. I did not appreciate him implying that I would do damage to my own car. He does not know me as a person. I pride myself on being honest. I have managed a medical practice for over 14 years. The female who checked me out said she has never seen it either. She told me if I wanted to bring my car back, they would have to take the care apart and that I would have to pay for the time. The guy said it would probably be about 3000 out of my pocket to fix it. I do not appreciate how they handled the situation. I know if I had brought my boyfriend, I would of never been treated like that. I also assume that the defect would of been fixed. The dealership should not be dismissive of women. I felt I was dismissed based on my gender. When I had leased the car originally, I was so happy that I such a nice SUV. Never would I damage it, or heat it. Because of this, I would not lease from your dealership ever again. Before this happened, I was planning on using your dealership for my next leased vehicle. I have told everyone I know about my experience at your dealership, and have filed a complaint with GM directly. I bought a certified pre-owned Terrain from there in 2021. It has a 100k power train warranty. I broke down on the road and was going to bring it to them. They told me they couldn't look at it until the 21st. Do you not take into consideration that emergencies happen? I'm not trying to schedule an oil change. I really did not want to write this but since my Gallagher Buick/GMC service tech "inadvertently" sent me a Trojan virus from his Gallagher email that completely disabled my work PC, I decided this would be the last straw with Gallagher Buick GMC. CUSTOMERS BEWARE, Gallagher Buick, GMC will mis-diagnose your vehicle then will state they do not perform "cross platform" warranty work (AKA - other gm vehicals that are not buick or gmc) ....they did it to me, I cant be the only one...... Where it all began, As a former Parsons Buick of Plainville customer I was looking for a new dealership to purchase from and also have my vehicals serviced. (They even welcome all former Parsons customers while you on hold on the phone!) In spring of 2018 I purchased a "cross platform" Chevrolet from Gallagher and was offered an extended warranty. (Plenty of Gallagher type shenanigans happened, but google only gives me so many character's... I should have actually gone with my gut and bailed on them here) .....But, I'm a glutton for punishment so I stuck with them... Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I was having a transmission issue with one of my other "cross platform" vehicles so I decided to bring it into Gallagher to have some extended warrenty work performed. When I dropped off my vehicle Ghallager's service tech told me they would have no issue performing the work and even went through my warrenty information ro make sure my vehical was covered. After 24  hours of run around I was ultimately told by Gallagher that my vehicals tranmission was "operating as designed" and there was no issue. As a last resort I decides to contact GM Customer Care to opened a case with the dealer as I knew a mistake had been made on the delerships behalf and the vehical indeed needed a repair.  The dealership agreed to keep the vehical and let me take it for a ride along with a service tech. After the ride along the dealership kept the vehicle to dig a little further. Hours later I was called and told my vehical again had no issue and was "operating as designed" and that had to return my service loaner. Gallagher provided me with a GM service bulletin that did not even pertain to the specific issue my vehical was having. Then to make matters worse the Gallagher service writer informed me that Gallagher does not service "Cross Platform" warrenty work. Strange....since they had no issue taking in my "Cross platform" vehicle, and they most definitely had no issue selling me a "cross platform" vehicle with an extended warranty. GM customer care had me bring my vehicle to another dealership where they quickly discovered my vehicles touque converter was failing and it would be 100% covered under my vehicles extended warranty. In closing, beware of this dealership as they say one thing and do another at the expense of the valuable customer.  I'm sure if I went in with no warrenty, paying out of pocket Gallagher buick gmc would have had no issue finding a problem and taking my money. After basically begging to be this dealerships customer it has been proven that they no longer need my business going forward. I will never purchace or service another vehicle with Gallagher Buick GMC and neither should you! Take it from a smart consumer that may or may not know a thing about how these so called "dealerships" operate. To Gallagher: No need to respond with the we strive please give us a call B.S. You were given chance after chance and you failed on every front. You're not even capable of properly running your company emails. I bought my Encore here a few years ago. Honestly it's amazing I closed the deal, the sales person (Frank)?? seemed as though he was on drugs, there were long monologues about himself that were nearly unintelligible. I did come back for two free oil changes that were included. Both times they left the little screw caps off of the tires when they checked the air. Today I called since my vehicle is in my driveway and will not start. The woman at the service desk was so snotty I told her to skip it. I have called my local mechanic and consider my business relationship with Gallagher Buick to be concluded permanently. read more

Everyone was great to work with- from sales, (Andy Kenney was great) to the finance team, to the service department, to the receptionist who answers the phone, this dealership was A+ in my book. I was very particular in my search and had been looking for 6 months. Gallagher Buick is 25 miles from my home- I got the car that I wanted here at a fair price. Complete disappointment. Wasted a weeks worth of time. Dealer promised financing, took my deposit then couldn't close the deal. Asked for more down payment and when I hesitated on the new deal they sold the car to someone else after two hours after having me deal with back and forth for a week. The sales person who originally set me up with the test drive went on vacation after taking my money and passed me on to another rep who had the next day off. Dealer asked me to find insurance, spent $300 on insurance and now i can't even buy the car. Waste of time. When it comes time to return my deposit they want me to drive back over 90 miles or I have to wait for a check. The entire thing was a run around. I would never recommend this place. I would especially stay away from George the finance manager and Jamie the used car manager. Good thing is it's pretty easy to stay away from them cause they don't answer their phone or email. NEVER AGAIN. Their response was to make sure to include the reason they couldn't approve me was because I'm self employed for ride share/livery That doesn't excuses the lack of communication, jumping the process and asking me to get insurance on a car that wasn't officially mine (money that I won't get back) And of course their general attitude of moving on to the next person right away. We had a terrible experience with the service/parts department, spoke with Amanda and she was short and was not willing to listen to the problem we were having with a key for the truck. After hanging up I had to call back and once they heard it was me calling again they didn't transfer me fast enough and I could hear them telling the other dept to let me go to VM and laughing about my calling back. Terrible customer service. We were able to call another dealer who listened fully to the problem we had and in less than 10 mins the key worked and we got what we paid for. I don't think we should of had to call another dealer to get an question answered but we are now done with Gallagher Buick - New Britain. read more

I had been looking at trucks for quite a while at a few different places in and out of Connecticut. I worked only with Frank P. in sales at Gallagher Buick GMC who was about the most knowledgeable person I have ever met when it comes to cars or trucks. I felt like Frank was very honest with me about the truck I purchased including the the necessary and unnecessary add-ons I had inquired about which is more than I can say about other dealerships I visited. Frank made it very easy to find the right vehicle for us and also made the process go as smooth as possible. When I picked up the truck, Frank went over ALL, and I mean ALL the features of the vehicle also continued to follow up with me and helped me figure out a few things I couldn't remember. David Cantalini is very rude. I get horrible customer service from him every time I come here. I've come here multiple times for service on my vehicle for the past year since I purchased my vehicle. Every time I come I am treated poorly by him. I've tried to use this location for work on my vehicle, seeing that they are in New Britain and I am a resident in New Britain.I would like to patronize business in my town. I've never been treated so poorly by a sales person. Don't waste your time & energy going to Gallagher GMC. Mr. Noriega was rude, condescending and patronizing. Upon entering the meek showroom at Gallagher I was instructed to speak with Mr. Noriega as I had a GMC lease which was expiring. Without asking for any information about my vehicle he immediately started discussing an early lease termination. When I inquired about what a buy out price would be with the intent of using that money to buy a bigger, more expensive GMC he said that wasn't an option. When I asked why he said, "Because I don't want to." And if I was there looking to get money for my car he simply doesn't do that. But that's his job! His job is to literally assess cars and sell cars! Since he obviously wasn't looking to make a sale I went to Stevens Auto Mall where we were greeted graciously by Akeem. He gave me information on a car that might work. We took our daughter to Gallagher Buick to see it and she loved the car! We bought it that day. My car's remanufactured transmission malfunctioned on my way back from the gym. Vehicle was towed to Gallagher and the Service Consultant Susan Joseph took over from there even though I did not have an appointment for my vehicle. I handed her my warranty information and she setup a service order to have the car inspected and advised me that I would receive a call later that day on the status of the work to be done. She arranged to have me picked up by Enterprise for a car rental during that period of time. As promised she called later that afternoon and advised that the rental and the ensuing work to be done on the vehicle were covered by the GM warranty and I could expect to have it returned to service by the end of the week as they had to wait on a part to be delivered to the dealership. Ms. Joseph kept me informed of all time lines as promised during my visit to your dealership. This was a very good customer experience! read more

Update: 7 months later..... Extremely disappointed! Have had nothing but problems with the vehicle and the customer service took a nose dive. I no longer feel like a valued customer. ********************************************** I actually live in New Britain and honestly forgot about Gallagher Buick throughout my 2+ month search for a car. I wish I didn't because it would have saved me a lot of time and aggravation had I gone to them from the beginning. Buyer beware - they do not follow through on their word! I placed a deposit on a 2013 GMC Yukon Denali. Prior to taking delivery, I asked for some cosmetic issues to be resolved. They ultimately agreed and held the Yukon for entire week for the work to be performed. I arrived today to take delivery and only 1 item was addressed. About 3-4 other issues we observed together and discussed were completely ignored. When questioned, it was as though I was at fault for asking for these repairs to be made on a car of this age. I should add that I agreed to pay more for the vehicle if the repairs were too costly. At the end of the day, I wanted to be happy with the cars overall condition. I am in disbelief at how this dealership acted. The sales associate who provided updates throughout the week as to where the Yukon was within the re-conditioning process had nothing to say. The used sale manager seemed discouraged as well. I'm not sure how a customer is at fault if things you as a dealer agree to are not addressed. This was by far the worst customer service experience I've had. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but when there's absolutely no accountability, no apologies, no action, what other conclusions can you draw on a company. read more

He answered my questions made sure I was satisfied with my purchase and deal. He never pressured me into any hasty decisions. Worst Experience ever, I reached out to Gallagher's regarding a new vehicle advising sales Rep Ronald Belanger that my credit was frozen at the big three credit bureaus due to an identity theft over ten years ago. I was advised by Ronald that I needed to unfreeze my account before Gallagher's could pull my credit report otherwise my credit would be adversely affected. The dealership was over 2.5 hours from my home and the listing online did not indicate whether the vehicle had certain accessories we required including a rear entertainment system. When I inquired with Ronald, he advised me that the vehicle did not have a rear entertainment system so we decided not to take the vehicle. Gallagher's then ran my credit report through Experian anyway resulting in a decline of credit due to my frozen account. This deliberate act has negatively affected my credit going forward. It is sad that just because we didn't purchase through Gallagher's that a 38 year employee would allow this to happen. Shame on you Ronald and Gallagher's Buick GMC read more

Worst auto body shop , bought in gmc yukon after accident , because I figured a gmc dealership would fix my truck right, after picking up truck and bought home noticed lower panels were not painted had to bring back three times and car stayed in dealership for one month and still whenever it rains the door leaks, and the paint on door has started to chip, I could have bought my truck to a backyard mechanic and got the body work fixed better, the explanation I got was that they are very busy and the auto body tech working on my truck was still training, worst , worst and I repeat worst auto body work ever done any of my cars read more

I was pretty disappointed in my experience with Gallagher. I called at 12:20 to ask about a vehicle I was interested in and if it was still available. They said yes, it was available and if I would mind someone calling me back in 15 minutes to set up an appointment. I said yes that is fine. I waited the 15 minutes and never got a call back, so we decided to drive down there and look at the car. When we walked in we told them the vehicle we were interested in and the salesman just said "It was just sold this morning". I told them it would have been nice to know that when I called and he just said "well it was just sold this morning". I said " I literally called a half hour ago to see if it was available". All he said was "well it was literally just sold, sorry". He didn't even ask if I would be interested in looking at any other vehicles and I still haven't received a called back from anyone at their location. read more

We purchased a vehicle from Gallagher years ago and it was a very pleasant experience. Fast forward 26+ years and what a difference. The salesperson wouldn't take our offer to the sales manager. He was more concerned about his commission. The vehicle description listed features the vehicle didn't even have. This made the vehicle overpriced to begin with. I brought my LaCrosse in for normal maintenance plus I was hearing a whinnying sound coming from the rear end. The techs were able to determine it was a bad wheel bearing and fixed it in a short period of time. I always find that the service personnel are professional and courteous. read more

I don't know if it has anything to do with Gallagher or the fact that GMC Acadia has a major problem with the air conditioning unit. I'm $1,500 in repairs for the air conditioning not working. I just got it back last week after it went in Gallagher service 4 times in 3 months for the same problem. No A/C. I refuse to spend another dime on that unit. I feel if a person brings their vehicle to a dealer complaining about an issue and you still have the same problem, you should automatically get all service for free on that specific unit. Gallagher or GM better tell me something. Or I have to go to consumer protection and call a lawyer. Honestly I shouldn't have had to pay any more money after the second attempt to fix the same problem! Very upset with Gallagher, GM or the bad air conditioning system thats been put in the Acadia's. Online over 250,000 people is complaining of the same problem. Stay away from any Acadia until GMC addresses this major and expensive design flaw with the air conditioner! read more
