Back again friends. Came back on a Sunday evening to attempt to try the new menu again. I lucked out and got the last hotdog they had. Originally I was going to try the gallant fox version but I think their Düsseldorf mustard has been extra sour lately(?) so I tried the BLT. The bacon jam made it too sweet for me. My husband got the grilled cheese with pulled pork which he called surprisingly good. My toddler got a standard grilled cheese which I ate half of. Seemed like they used shredded cheese instead of sliced and also not quite enough. I order the pretzel every time I come and it never disappoints. read more

The service was great today. The food, so so. The Spicy Jalepeno Burger was ok, worth getting, but a bit sweet. And Spicy, NOT!! The fries are ok but rather bland, frozen . A bit of Cajun, Mexican, Korean or whatever would be a vast improvement. The Irish Red Ale is a decent presentation of its kind. I liked it. The Chocolate Porter was too sweet and had NO body at. Thin as could be. Worse than Guiness. Great place though for watching sports. Two huge TVs over the bar with others in strategic places. Better than a 3 rating but not 4 for sure. read more

The inside of the restaurant has a nice industrial brewery vibe. Has a nice patio with garage doors to the inside. The bartender/ server was very personable and kind, even offering multiple samples. Food was very tasty with good portions. Pretzel was one of the best I've had, and the Gallant Fox Burger was a good combo of salty and sweet with the bacon jam. read more

We stopped at the coffee shop across the street and were surprised to see Gallant Fox Brewing so we had to stop in for dinner. The food is decent, not amazing. But I did enjoy my burger. The fries are excellent though! I am not a beer person but I got a pumpkin one anyway and it was pretty good! They had trivia that started shortly after we got there. It was done well and very fun! The outside area is nice, especially on a day where it's not too chilly. The inside seating is fine and nothing special, but the rest of the place is very fun and decorated nicely. Came here for a coworker's birthday. The location is great and we loved the patio. It was a gorgeous evening so we enjoyed sitting outside. I got a beer flight and enjoyed all the beers I tried. We ordered a pretzel to share and then each ordered a burger. The pretzel was soft and delicious. When the burgers came out, I was a bit disappointed. They seemed to be frozen and just thrown on a grill. There was little seasoning and the taste was just mediocre. The fries were pretty good. Overall, I'd stick with appetizers because those at least seemed fresh. Service was quick and friendly. We also enjoyed the trivia that was going on. Gallant Fox Brewing is a very nice little microbrewery stuck in the middle of one of Kentucky's quaint little towns. There's nothing flashy or commercial about it which makes it a great destination if you are into locally made micro breweries. While Kentucky is well know for it's bourbon industry, the microbreweries popping up all over the state are more welcoming for those who don't care for whiskeys. We decided to take my in-laws on a day trip to the Mt. Washington Farmer's Market and drop in for a bite to eat. We were a little concerned about the noise level because we saw it on a few reviews. We decided to go when they opened and the noise level was not an issue. If that's a concern, I recommend going on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The food was on the upscale bar food side. We started with the pretzel and no matter what else you get from the menu, the pretzel is a must. It was so buttery and delicious. It had just enough bite to not be too rubbery and just enough crispness on the outside without being too dry. The sandwiches were good and the portions were perfect for us. There was nothing stellar about the sandwiches. The servers were very kind and helpful and we had a wonderful afternoon. They are a relatively new business and still have a couple minor kinks to work out but they are well on their way to being a fantastic destination to go if you are ever on a tour of Kentucky or on the Bourbon Trail. They are located roughly 40 minutes just south of Louisville, KY and the drive is very nice once you get past Fern Creek (A Louisville suburb). read more

Was in the area for an event and decided to head next door for food and a drink. It was a great choice. The place was bumpin', but the service was excellent. Very friendly staff, cool and fun atmosphere, family friendly even. As someone familiar with the bartending industry, I throughly enjoyed my visit. Food was quick and tasty. Only had one beer, but I enjoyed it. I will def be back to try the rest of their beer menu and some diff bites to eat! read more

This place was fun, nothing crazy. They have a nice beer and bourbon selection but if you don't like those there isn't much for you. Their food selection is quite small and everything was good, but not phenomenal. The tatchos were good but for the price the portion was ridiculous. The hotdogs were good and the bread was a nice touch. The pretzel was fine as well. Overall, worth checking out, just come with some food already on your stomach and get a snack and some drinks. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They recently opened and know they have a few kinks to work out. Seating is first come first serve which can be a problem as the venue is super popular right now! Hopefully staff will establish a system for finding seats as it will be an issue if they don't. The food is yummy and the bourbon and beer selection is quite nice! It is a fun place to hang out so be prepared for a loud environment. We visited Gallant Fox and had mixed feelings about the experience. The interior is a very open concept which is a nice ambiance but very noisy. The tables and chairs made me feel like we were at a picnic vs an upscale restaurant. The craft beer was competent, the pretzel was a solid appetizer with great beer cheese and mustard sauce. The burgers were not great and seemed like something I could quickly make at home or get at a fast food location. I hope this place upgrades its food options because it has potential and Mount Washington deserves a nice restaurant to even out all of the fast food options. read more

Very disappointed ! We had a party of four for lunch (two couples) we went to the bar and ordered at the same time. We each ordered a burger with one side and I ordered an appetizer for the table. The couple with us received their food and waited for the appetizer to arrive after about ten minutes no appetizer and we still had not received our food. We finally canceled the appetizer and waited another ten minutes or so for our burgers. The burgers were OK but the sides were warm at best. I will say the restaurant and restrooms were clean and inviting, a good overall atmosphere if only the service and food were as good. read more

We were driving through town and saw this place, so we decided to stop in for lunch. The menu isn't super extensive and consists mostly of burgers and sandwiches, but man were they good! We got the chicken salad sandwich, tomato soup, and the black & blue burger + onion rings. The portions were great, sandwiches were stuffed and burgers were a good size. Service was very friendly. Arrived with a five pack of friends and between the five we ordered the chicken tenders, hamburgers and fries. My wife's and my meal were served with incorrect orders and we had to wait for our meals to be cooked and reserved while our friends ate. The chicken tenders are processed chicken known as chicken nuggets. The hamburgers were a bit chewy and taste was off and fries were lame. Outside temperature was a bit chilly that evening but so was the temperature in the restaurant, left the restaurant a bit chilled. Won't return. For a $14.00 hamburger, should've gone to McDonald's for the same quality at half the price, and gotten three different sauces for our chicken nuggets! read more

Sooooo for starters, I was SUPER excited to find a place like this in Mt Washington! We live just on the edge of Bullitt County. So normally, we are traveling further into the city of Louisville to go to cool places like this. So I was super pumped when I saw this location was opened. It's the type of food my husband likes and it's the type of beer I like. So you order at the counter. This can be the norm sometimes with places like this. Ok ,fine The lady who waits on us lets me sample one of the beers, which I appreciate. We order our food & get a beverage. And we sit outside. We had ordered an appetizer and that came out reasonably quick. We were both starving so we scarfed that down pretty quickly. Napkins nor small plates were given to us with the appetizer ,which is a little bit of a pet peeve of mine but I can overlook that if it's the only issue. One of the girls working walked around periodically and for whatever reason she didn't take our appetizer Dirty plates. So at one point when she was nearby, I told her that we were done with our appetizer dishes and we wanted to see if we could order another beverage. She told us we had to go to the counter. I wish she could've just taken our order there and brought it out to us but that's fine. We can deal with that. We waited and waited for our food. It seemed like forever. I didn't look at the time, but I would say easily 30 minutes. I will say during all of this, we didn't feel like they were super busy. As I said before, there was a worker walking around a lot. so when we finally got our food, it was somewhat warm if that. My husband got a burger, so he was not happy about the temp of that at all. I got the grilled cheese and to be honest it was pretty poorly made. It had a ton of Boursin cheese and then shredded cheese on top of that. It wasn't warm so the shredded cheese wasn't melting at all. I think part of the problem was there was too much Boursin onit. Kind of just a shit show of a grilled cheese. And let me tell you ,I do love grilled cheese. So I was kind of bummed that I didn't like this. I think overall if the food had been warmer, everything would've been so much better. My husband ordered onion rings with his burger. Onion rings were not warm. I ordered brussels sprouts and they were somewhat warm. But it was literally the only thing on our plates that was even close to really warm. It'll be tough to get my husband to try it a second time. I will. And I might end up going by myself. I don't know if other people like that grilled cheese. If I had my way, I would ask them to takeoff the Boursin and add some thing else. My husband had brie on his burger, and I think brie goes great on a grilled cheese! if my husband got his burger hot ,and I got a better grilled cheese, , we would definitely go again. So excited to have a local microbrewery close by. We have only been one time. Great variety of food although when we went the quality was slightly lacking. I believe they are just having some new growing pains with the food and trust it will be really good soon. The beer was fantastic. We tried several different beers and they were all great. We went to dinner here tonight. We sat outside enjoyed the night. We ordered our food (I am going to go ahead and say this, I am a picky eater.) I ordered the coney dog and requested no mustard. First bite, full of mustard. I take it to the counter, the girl took it to the back and came back and said it's butter?!?! I take it back, my husband tries it (he likes mustard) and confirms it's mustard and he take it up a second time. The girl again says we use brown mustard (this was bright yellow mustard). This should not have been even up for debate. It should have been changed out. Now this won't keep me from coming back, I still like the place. read more

I understand they are a specialty brewery however we are foodies. We love to try new places. We were disappointed with the food. Burgers were very thin. Brussel sprouts were okay, little greasy. Atmosphere was good. Great building and it was clean. Sound was good. Need a few more TVs. We might try back after they are more established. I saw two nice looking salad but they didn't have any meat on them. Need more chicken options. Hostess stand needs to be at the back entrance because that's where everyone parks. Seems awkward to walk around to the front or walk through the restaurant. I like the fact that you order at the counter but not a whole lot of suggestions from counter. read more

I am giving 3 stars only because I didn't realize we were going to Chuckie Cheese I thought it was a brewery . The owners kids were there running through the restaurant,screaming , laying in the floor , running to the doors , getting in the way of customers and servers , running into chairs at our table. There were 5 of them while parents talked , laughed , and drank . They would call them out a couple of times to sit down that lasted all of 1 minute . The beers we tried we liked however hard to enjoy with kids acting uncivilized. People need to realize other people don't love their children . The hamburgers are served with potato chips ( I don't eat chips) fries are extra . Not sure I will give it another try as these being the owners children I assume they will be there often . To me a brewery isn't a place for children even if they are behaved much less when they are not . My child would have never acted that way I blame the parents kids do what parents allow. The parents should really be embarrassed. read more
