The place is clean, welcoming, and somehow perfectly balanced between family-friendly and dog-friendly without feeling like a daycare (for either). Service was solid. Attentive without hovering, which is an underrated art form. It's also a great spot to catch a game; good vibes, no chaos. I had the Derby City Light and something called Banana Moon Boots. Both did the job nicely. Only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5: the beer menu felt a little limited if you don't love hoppy beer. Not bad, just left me wishing for a few more options to overthink. I have such a good experience every time I visit Gallant Fox. I love all of the Fox decor. It really is the prettiest brewery in the city. I can spend so much time just admiring the walls. I've had a few different drinks but my favorite is their seasonal Key Lime Pie Sour Ale. Key lime pie is my favorite dessert so having it in beer form just makes a sunny day better. I also like how fairly inexpensive the drinks are. Gallant Fox has a lot of events that they host. They have weekly trivia on Tuesdays, monthly themed trivia and I also heard they have karaoke. Their beer is not my favorite, but there is generally something on tap that is at least in my wheelhouse/style and flavor preference. I feel even more generous in my rating now as I am here at least once a week, if not more, as in the summer of 2024 they became the official Arsenal bar in Louisville. My guy and I are fans and had been attending games at the previous club home in town, but after the Raven closed, Gallant Fox and Roger (owner, who I also a Gunner) stepped up to adopt our motley crew! I am eager for the promised expansion of the food offerings and kitchen, but the jumbo pretzel is a good option for the meanwhile. I have always loved the look and feel of the place, and I am very happy with the service provided by all the bartenders I have encountered. I do wish that there were more food options, but I believe that is coming soon and in the mean time they don't seem too upset when we bring in our own food and snacks (especially for those early breakfast-time games) or have it delivered. Also big ups to Roger and staff for having coffee brewing during those early games, as well as for opening outside of regular hours for the rowdy bunch! read more

This little neighborhood bar seems lovely. I had. Couple of cocktails here with my dead son. I'm dragging his ashes around, enjoying a cocktail, being angry and sad. Such a cute place! I visited this brewery on a Tuesday for Trivia. Triva was fun and the questionwere a good range of difficulty. The pretzel with beer cheese and mustard was delicious! I live close to Frankfort Avenue and walk by Gallant Fox all the time. They were having a trivia on Wednesday night decided to go. Gallant Fox was the second horse to win the triple crown. It's a nice nod to that historical piece. The space is adorable. It's open they've got a lot of fox inspired art and there's a great theme. We found a seat and then grabbed some drinks. Everything we tried was actually very tasty. I had the lemon meringue sour, which also had whip cream on top. It was very tasty. The space was very open and inviting. I appreciated that they had multiple TVs and they were streaming the trivia to some of the TVs as well. They don't have food but you're welcome to bring in food from home or elsewhere. read more

I'd been meaning to check this place out! Had to come by since they were one of the breweries doing 12 beers of Christmas. Parking isn't bad. There are a few spots right in front. But if you drive a bit past it, you'll find more parking spaces. The inside isn't super large, but it's got the feel of a dive bar. Though with more decor. Lots of foxes around! Pictures and paintings, statues and taxidermied ones too (is taxidermied a word?). There were 3 Christmas beers. I only liked the Melé Kalikimaka, which was a pineapple sour. Delicious! We came here on a Friday afternoon and surprisingly it wasn't terribly busy so we had the pick of the tables. I loved the look of the place so much, the fox mural and all! The bartender that served us was very friendly! One of my biggest pet peeves is when noooobody greets you when you enter an establishment so I ALWAYS appreciate when someone (in this case the bartender) welcomes you in/lets you know you can sit anywhere/etc. So thank you for that! I ordered a flight of beer because this was our first time in so the first time trying their beer. Typically I don't review a place on a first visit. However in this case this is one of those first experiences that I can actually review. This place is located off Frankfort Ave, there is some parking in front of the building but very limited. You may have to park in the street like I did. That's one kicker for me but, it didn't stop me from wanting to visit here for which I have wanted for awhile now. This place does not serve food but, had a food truck in front of the place but, didn't really pay attention to what it was. They are following Covid precautions like they should. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. I came here in part of the Ale Trail and my passport specified for this place that they have a Craft Beerita. I ordered their smallest one and it was very good. Tasted like a frozen Margarita. This place only has like 2 TVs in the whole entire place. They had the Louisville game on which was a plus for me. Also there is no seating at the bar at this time. I will need to come back and try their other beers. But, I'm not sure anything here will top their Beerita. That is definitely worth a try if you are ever here. Thanks guys for making my first visit here a great one. Will be back. read more

You almost could have won me over with just the interior design. Great logo. Fabulous gallery walls. Necessary themed wallpaper. The beers I had were ok. The Dirty Peach didn't taste sweet in my mouth but sat in my stomach like it was a sweet tea. Wyld Stallyns is their blackberry and pineapple sour. It had a great flavor but maybe too strong for the volume of the beer. It'd be nice if they had maybe like 3 different appetizers to snack on, but maybe I'm being picky. Overall, I enjoyed my time there and would like to try their not fruity beer next time. Louisville has so many new and fabulous Breweries! We decided we are starting a Friday brew pub crawl. This past Friday one on the list was Gallant Fox! Happy to say it really was my favorite. The beautiful thing is they have a full bar. If you are heading to a bar and one of your friends isn't a beer drinker, low and behold, plenty of fabulous bourbons to be found here! Our bartender was fabulous. Great little crowd of people. Even dog friendly! One dog she was excellent and I would 10/10 dog sit for her! They recommended mixing also! That's right, mixing some of the tap beers. I had a nice Sir Galahad stout! I love the stouts and porters in the fall and winter. It was really delicious! I tried the jelly of the month, the blueberry mixed with the Nutty by nature! What a fabulous combo! Peanut butter and jelly in a glass! The bar is nice, quick service. Clean bathrooms. Fun brewery on Frankfort Ave! It's a small place, but they had plenty of seating inside and a few tables outside in the front and back patios. I did a flight and liked everything that I tried. I really like the selection of beers that they have and the names of the beers are so cool! My favorite was the Red Wedding and my husband's was the Shitter's Full. Haha! They have a few parking spots out front but on a Saturday night, parking is pretty annoying on Frankfort Ave. There are a few tables set up outside. We walked back to the bar and ordered their lager and strawberry kolsch. They pretty much had a beer for everyone, along with a full bar. They also had two different types of slushies, they weren't ready...I'll have to go back lol. I liked the decor too, pictures of foxes everywhere. Friendly staff. There was even a dog in there! I have to say I'm not sure whether or not to recommend this place. The food and the selection of beer incredible and The in house Brews were delicious. However if I'm being honest the bartender who served us gave one of the most off putting experiences I've had. We were standing there for a few minutes, when we were ready to order he definitely seemed like he was mentally done with the day and was just riding out the rest of his shift. Some of the best beers I've ever had. I came here a few weeks ago and was already back this weekend. The Key Lime beer is to die for. If their beers say they have a specific flavor it does. For example, with the key like you could taste the lime and also the Graham cracker flavor. I got the chocolate strawberry stout and could taste a ton of strawberry with some chocolate. We have been trying to check this place out since they opened and I'm SO glad we did! The two owners were behind the bar and explained their menu on our arrival. Anything in colored print is brewed in-house and everything else is local but not necessarily in Louisville. I got The Dirty Peach and it's the summer beer I never knew I lived without. I had 3 of them if that tells you anything. Their bar is also FULLY stocked with every bourbon you could desire and very fair pricing. The fox-themed decor is perfect and has such attention to detail from the entrance to the bathrooms. It was very clean throughout and offered outdoor and indoor seating possibilities. We had the best time at Gallant Fox! Masks on inside and they have placements for where to stand if you're waiting. All their cool, colorized beers on the menu are theirs and the rest are local beers. We got flights of just their beers and every single one was great! I loved the peach and my boyfriend loved the watermelon. Both were perfect for the warm Sunday afternoon we spent sitting outside sipping brews. There are obvious seats outside in the front but keep in mind that there is also seating in the back outside. The more room to spread out, the better, and Gallant Fox makes it easy. Sometime back in October, I visited this new brewery with a few friends. I had heard about this place sometime last year and patiently waited for them to open, but then the pandemic happened. Of course, that put a damper on things for me until recently, but I was still happy to visit. This barely-off-the-beaten brewery is located off Frankfort Ave. Parking is limited in front of the establishment, but there is plenty of street parking. I found a spot and headed toward the building. There is outsided seating, which is great, but unless they've covered it recently, be prepared to brace the elements. We met up inside during this time, and I was happy to see that COVID precautions were in place with mask wearing and social distancing in line. The decor was excellent! I'm not a huge fan of Guardians of the Galaxy, but that's what it reminded me of. I guess the fox wasn't enough for me to catch on, but it gave a warm, whimsical welcoming that made me smile. Upon reaching the bar, I was greeted by a friendly bartender, who was very knowledgeable about the beers. They had quite a few house beers and a few guest taps. At the time, I ordered some type of hemp IPA, which was delicious. The aroma smelled somewhat green, and it had great piney notes that I would expect in a West Coast style beer. A couple of friends had stouts that they rated as average with their deep, malty flavors. Overall, I really like the decor. The lighting was a little low, which was perfect for a low-key atmosphere. Noise level was average to low, which made it easy to have a conversation, and they had friendly bartender. I look forward to another trip there. read more
