Waited around 20 minutes to be seated and not to bad for how many people were there. Service was honestly very good everyone was super nice and friendly. Our waitress was super sweet attended to us promptly and nicely we had ordered pancakes and once we all took about 3 bites we knew something was off, our pancakes had a very chemical taste and we're not very good we debated telling our server and did not expect any money taken off of our bill just wanted to tell her as a statement and warning that maybe something was wrong with the batter and etc. Once we told our server she was extremely rude and said "well i've sold around 500 pancakes and never heard a complaint" "nobody has complained about their pancakes today but you" and other comments overall was not expecting this kind of reaction me and my group were pretty disappointed read more

We almost drove into KW this morning to have breakfast at Pepe's Cafe. In the interest of time - we're headed out of town this morning - we decided on Galley Grill. Based on a number of recommendations on Yelp, I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict. It lived up to the hype. The home fries were also great. We head down to this part of the Keys as often as we can and the Galley Grill has become our "go to" breakfast place since the Big Pine Restaurant closed. Portions are large, food is delicious...blueberry pancakes are yummy as is the crab cake Benedict! Servers remember you even if you haven't been there in a while. I hope this place is still open, but its been a good 10 years since I've been down that way to see it. Back when I had family living in the area (both Summerland and Ramrod), this was always the place to go for breakfast. Sausage Biscuits and Gravy were to die for, as were the eggs. I recall something on the menu called the "Belly Bomb" which was essentially the left side of the menu with extra gravy. Its right on Rt. 1 (mile marker 25) so if you are driving down to Key West from Miami or beyond it would be in your interest to plan on stopping here for breakfast. Just show up hungry. read more

Stopped in here after reading good reviews. What a find! On a Rainy Sunday it was packed but we were seated In less than time quoted (30 min). The coffee was good and my husband and I both ordered hash and eggs- he got sweet potato and sausage and I got the homemade corned beef hash. Both were excellent. On the drive from Key West to Miami we stopped here for breakfast. Yelp pointed me in the right direction yet again! We sat on the patio and sipped our coffee discussing the trip and how sad we were to leave. Locals started pouring in and then I knew the food must be tasty. I ordered the Crab Cakes Benedict and it was ahhhhhmazing! I got the homefries with is and those were great. I almost licked the plate clean. The crab cakes were so fresh and light with a bit of a kick. And the eggs were poached perfectly. Yum! My boyfriend ordered the Seafood Omelette which was a special of the day. He loved it. Trusting a few other yelp users, fired up the app about a mile away, and proceeded to swing in at about 1130am. They'd quit serving breakfast so we were initially a little disappointed, but that didn't last long. Sweet Tea in a 1/2 gallon glass, mozzarella caprese salad with pesto, and a hand formed cooked to order cheeseburger for me. (I was a little "fished out" from Key West). Onion rings as a side, and they were the nice vidalia rings. A solid 1/2 pound burger, dripping with juice was about perfect since breakfast was not available. My wife had a garden salad, crab cakes (to die for), and sweet potato fries. We were just too stuffed to even think about dessert. While sitting in the restaurant, a bartender that we had met in Key West walked in, and teased us about finding "another" local dive. The owner of the place walked in, talked with a couple of other "locals", and we found out that one of his kids works in the place. Great stop, great lunch. Their breakfast menu looks interesting, so we'll try to be a bit earlier on our next visit. Yes, the place is cluttered, looks like a dive, but was clean. The restroom is accessed from the outside, but it was spotless. There are outside booths under a patio with ceiling fans, but we chose to eat inside. read more

We drove back from Key West and Accidentally pulled into the Galley grill for something to eat. It's between two petrol stations, very non-assuming, looks like a bar. We went in and they folks were SO friendly, the waitress was a sweetheart, she spent time helping us with the menu specials! When the food arrived it was wonderful, fresh and delicious. I had high hopes for this place, given all of the 5-star ratings from the other Yelpers. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, so I think I'll just have to chalk this up to ordering the wrong thing and/or having an off visit. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict and my boyfriend ordered the farmers three egg omelet. I didn't try his, but apparently it didn't taste bad, barring the fact that a strand of hair was found in his food... The smoked salmon eggs benedict wasn't bad either (I feel like the food review I'm writing for this place is mostly qualified with "it wasn't bad," which apparently leaves something to be desired). Well, that's what I thought until I bit into the salmon - waaaaaay too salty! I had a really hard time finishing the dish because of the saltiness, so I ended up just eating the fresh fruit that came with it. Unfortunately, I don't see what all the fuss is about. Over-salted food with hair in it doesn't deserve a 5 star rating. Probably won't be giving this place another go. If I find myself at this location again, I will definitely be ordering something else. read more

One of my favorite local places for a fresh and tasty breakfast. Daily specials are always fabulous. I've been going for a year now and the faces have mostly stated the same. Great polite beautiful folks work and own this place. Homemade granola with super fresh fruit and super fresh Greek yogurt is one of my favorites! Add a slice of their grilled banana nutbread !!! This place has a good small diner feel and has old school tasty food. I had a shrimp wrap that had really fresh, warm shrimp, with lettuce and tomatoes and some type of dressing. I had a side of fries. The fries are fresh cut and perfectly fried. My friend tried their Mahi sandwich and it was also delicious. Service was fast and food was cheap. They had this seafood chowder that the server recommended that had crab, scallops, and conch in it. It was really fantastic. Julio and his main squeeze and faithful hound Captain Morgan visited the galley last week. They were just opening for the day so we had a brew and conversed with the managers and staff, talked about surviving the ravages of Irma, and how things were looking, going forward. Very nice, and very friendly people, who have a long history of food and beverage service here in the Keys, and who understand that this is not New York and not California. After a nice conversation we order the whole yellowtail snapper and the Thai ribs, with several kinds of sauce. The food was simply fabulous. Done perfectly, with excellent presentation. As you know, if you know Julio, Julio likes his hot food to be hot. His side of French fries were the hottest ever, right out of the fryer, and delicious. Rice was great, Julio's main squeeze digs the veggies and she said they were delicious. Of course, Julio's green vegetables are only olives, pickles, and avocados, so he didn't try the veggies. This place has everything but the oceanside view, great service, terrific food, a Master chef, they are hound friendly, and reasonably priced. Do yourself a favor, when you travel way, way, way down the fabulous road known as A1A, just before you get almost to Cuba, stop in at the Galley Grill, say hi to the fine folks there, have some great chow, and tell them Julio sent you. ps Captain Morgan loves Yellowtail and ribs. read more
