After a weekend in Key West for a wedding (you know how that goes), we stopped here on our way back home and it saved us. This place delivered exactly what we needed. The highlight was the pancakes for me. They were light, perfectly golden and absolutely delicious. My fiancé had the homemade cornbeef hash and loved it. He's pretty picky about his hash and this one passed the test - A++. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting and the service was fast and friendly. We'll be visiting any time we are back in the area!

Stopped in randomly for breakfast on Easter and was pleasantly surprised! The service was great. our waitress was super attentive and went above and beyond for the kids. She even brought out little Easter eggs and bunnies for them, which was such a sweet touch. The food was delicious. I had the corned beef hash with eggs and grits. everything was cooked perfectly, and the coffee hit the spot. The pancakes were fluffy and so good. My husband got the Cajun breakfast special and said it was the perfect combo of flavor and spice. My kids said the chocolate milk was "super duper delicious" Definitely will be coming back.

Yum! Located on Summerland Key, this restaurant was packed with patrons when we stopped in around 11. We ended up eating in the outside dining area with jackets on but no complaints from us. I had a western omelet with potatoes and toast and coffee while my husband had a 2 stack of pancakes, bacon and a parfait with orange juice. The omelet was large and full of ingredients but THE POTATOES are worth everything and then some. Perfectly seasoned (not too salty) with spices including garlic, they were chunked with skin on. I seldom eat the potatoes but I scarfed them down. Pancakes and bacon were what you would expect but the orange juice was clearly fresh and the parfait was outstanding with what appeared to be home made granola and fresh blueberries and strawberries. The bathroom was outside of the building and single use- clean and tidy.

While on our vacation in the Florida Keys we while looking for a place to eat breakfast we were told my a local that the Galley Grill was a great choice. We were con the area so we thought to give it a try. After finally finding a place to park we went inside and waited about 20 minutes for a table. Once seated the service seemed fairly quick. I had the brisket and gravy with eggs and my wife had eggs and pancakes. The food, service and prices were great.

This place was delicious! What an awesome lil greasy spoon! My husband had the omlet and I had the choc chip pancakes and they were amazing!! Would definitely come back to try other stuff!!! We loved to sit outside/inside in the open air area the blueberry pomegranate mimosa was also delicious!!

Gluten free veggie Benedict with grits

We stopped here on our way out of Key West for breakfast and it was good. I'm gluten free (celiac) and I ordered the veggie eggs Benedict with a side of grits. The portion was big with tons of veggies. Next time I'd probably order something else because there is a ton to choose from! They also have good protocols and she assured me it's all done in a clean part of the griddle. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito and it looked delicious. Would come back again!

My husband ordered the ham, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, and it was absolutely amazing. We split it but the first thing we noticed it was huge. The sandwich was served on Cuban bread that they bake fresh themselves, and it was some of the best bread I've ever had; light, flaky, perfectly golden brown, and incredibly fresh. Every ingredient tasted fresh and homemade, including real eggs cooked to order, not the processed "fake" eggs you find in so many places. Be sure to save room for one of their homemade pastries. Like the bread, everything is baked in-house, and you can taste the care that goes into every bite. The coffee was equally impressive; rich, smooth, and full of flavor. It paired perfectly with breakfast and kept me coming back for more. What really sets LJ's Café apart, though, is the atmosphere. This is a true mom-and-pop establishment where family and friends work together. From the moment you walk into the small storefront, you're welcomed like family. The service is warm, genuine, and makes you feel right at home. And here's an added bonus for Florida travelers: the air conditioning is fantastic! After visiting several places in Marathon, we definitely appreciated being able to enjoy our meal in a cool, comfortable environment. I can't rave enough about this wonderful spot. If you're passing through Marathon, make sure your schedule allows for breakfast or lunch because those are the only hours they're open. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Best coffee I'm Marathon. Very cute place. The service was awesome! Will be going again and again.read more

We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant, but unfortunately our experience was…read moredisappointing from start to finish. The online waitlist initially estimated a 60-75 minute wait, not an issue, had a cocktail upstairs and really wnjoyed ourselves. When we checked in, we were told we were next eventhough thebonline portal told us to come. After waiting another 15 minutes, we were told our table was just being cleaned and to wait where we were. A few minutes later, another employee told us we had to move because a different party was holding the door open, so we ended up standing behind the bar with our backs against the wall. It just felt awkward and disorganized. When we were finally seated in the back room, we thought it would be nice since it was quieter, but it was extremely hot. I'm usually the person who is always cold, yet I was sweating through dinner. Service also left a lot to be desired. The food runner handed our hot dinner plates directly to us instead of placing them on the table. I was sitting at the opposite end of the table from him, so I had to reach out and take a hot plate. I even asked if it was hot, and he still practically dropped it into my hands. I had burned my fingers earlier that day, so it hurt!!.. but it was that or drop my pasta!? Our server also repeatedly reached across guests' faces to clear plates instead of walking around the table. At one point my sister didn't even realize she was there until an arm reached in front of her, which was awkward. To make matters worse, two of our dinners arrived about seven minutes before the remaining meals, so part of our table was left waiting while the others' food got cold. We asked for grated Parmesan for our two PASTA dishes. No one mentioned there would be a charge. It took another six minutes to arrive, and when the bill came we discovered we had been charged $2 per serving. We asked for two servings, but three were brought to the table--and we were charged for all three. Six minutes may not sound like much, but after already waiting for the rest of the meals, another delay while watching our server take new tables' orders instead of bringing the cheese felt frustrating. To end on a positive note, three of the meals were good. My mother-in-law really enjoyed the grilled wahoo, my husband liked the BBQ mac and cheese, and my sister liked the fried artichoke. Overall, it wasn't one major issue--it was a series of small service problems that added up and made for a disappointing experience. We hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests.
