Tried this place for breakfast because our hotel restaurant didn't open until 10 am. We wandered into the hotel and out to the pool deck to find the Toasted Coconut restaurant and pool bar. The bartender welcomed us, seated us and offered us drinks. My husband had coffee that he said was satisfactory; I had a Diet Coke that took some getting used to (Island water, I guess!). We ordered off the "new" menu ... we both had breakfast sandwiches. They were not really anything to write home about... typical hotel restaurant food. The bar was cute ... poolside and tropical. Our Georgian (the country not the state) bartender was a nice guy... he didn't say much but made sure all our needs were met in a timely manner. Overall ... not my favorite breakfast place but it served its purpose today. read more

The "coco loco shrimp" is to die for-- it's absolutely delicious. My husband had their fritters and bacon cheeseburger, which I nibbled on, but my eyes were on the prize. . . Stopped by for breakfast because the menu looked amazing. Dimitri waited on us & was TERRIFIC! I had the omelette and my husband had the Cuban Eggs Benedict. The pork in that dish is not to be missed. I wish I had ordered it, it was so good. My husband had a Rum Old Fashioned, which he thought was very tasty. I've come to this pair of hotels (24 North Hotel & The Gates) for the second time and I've enjoyed it so much. The first time we came we stayed at The Gates and really enjoyed the bar outside by the pool, called Rum Row. But the great thing is these bars are walking distance from each other and that's how we ran into this awesome bar. The cocktail menu is amazing, highly recommending the Coconut Creamsicle. This poolside restaurant at 24 North Hotel will satiate your need for nibbles during your next stay, but I feel breakfast would have been more appealing a meal. My friend and I were famished after a long day in the sun and we elected to stay in. Her burger looked great but her review was that it was just "okay." My shrimp tacos had an unbelievable amount of deep fried shrimp (see pic). Not bad, but not great. Her plantain chips were much better than mine - I basically got the bottom of whatever was left in the bag(s). For service, I can only say it is disheartening when you only order soda and, therefore, apparently only warrant mediocre attention. Our waitress was busy flirting with a few male patrons who were order mixed drinks, etc. I understand - your tip is bound to be more substantial the greater the amount of alcohol ordered. But flat out ignoring your other patrons is unnecessary. Again, I feel I would have enjoyed breakfast more here and, should I say at the 24 again, I'll give it a fair shake. read more

This place was a cool drink of water in the restaurant desert that is the east side of the island. We ate here twice for lunch and once for dinner over three days. It's right next to a hotel pool and you can eat there as a non-guest. Onion rings -- fried to perfection. Steak quesadilla -- delicious and filling. We got this twice! Mermaid salad -- very good, but I would recommend it with some protein added on. It was otherwise plain. Chicken club -- delicious and filling. Served with plenty of plantain chips. The food is good and it comes out quickly, and it's also reasonably priced. The bartenders were always prompt and kind even though we didn't order a single alcoholic beverage. I wish I'd taken more photos of the food (presentation was nice) but we were always so excited to eat. read more

It a really nice pool bar inside the 24 hotel pool area. It's 830 am and there serving drinks and grits for breakfast.its 12.95 for grits but you can't beat the atmosphere. My bf & I stayed at this hotel about a month ago, the room was ok but the best part of the whole stay was that awesome pool bar & Christian!! He was so funny & helpful, gave us all kinds of tips for great local sights for first timers.. it was some sort of celebration for the Bahamas that week & we had the most fun ever. The service from the staff is both professional, courteous, and friendly. The rooms are very boutique feeling and are nicely setup. The pool area and workout facility are very nice as well. Where they have opportunity for significant improvement is fixing the elevator that faces the parking lot, the wait times can easily exceed 5 minutes if it responds at all. The walkways and walls on the exterior need to be power washed as they are grimy looking. The toasted coconut posted hours do not match the actual hours of operation, differing by 2-3 hours dependent upon when the bartender feels like closing apparently. The Starbucks on site does not adhere to the rewards perks that Starbucks gold customers are entitled to and it's frustrating. They could easily be a level 4 if they followed through on execution better and paid attention to details. If it weren't for the quality of the staff I'd have rated it a 2. read more

This is located poolside of the 24 North Hotel. It was okay. We each got an alcoholic drink and wings and shrimp tacos. The food was very good. The drinks were okay. Afterwards we ended up going inside to the bar located in the lobby of the hotel and they had way better drinks for the same price (plus free plantain chips!). read more

Worst bar service my wife has ever been too. She sat there for 15-20 minutes on several days trying to get a drink order taken. While the male and female Russian bartenders chatted with some Russian males that came in and were drinking. You don't just ignore your patrons because your friends are in. After several days of being ignored, we started going to every other hotel's bar Gates Hotel, Hilton, Fairfield down the street for drinks for the 2 weeks we were there.
