Recently went to this location for dinner and we enjoyed our time there. The restaurant was located in the Hilton hotel and we were quickly seated as soon as we arrived. The restaurant had nice decor and ambiance which we loved. Our waiter was a nice young man (don't remember his name) but he was excellent. His recommendations definitely helped us decide what we wanted to order. He recommended my husband to get the old fashion and he really enjoyed that. I got the strawberry margarita and it was the bust thus far. The shrimp appetizer was very good, just wish it came with more shrimp. I ordered the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. My husbands steak had him drooling. The food overall was great and the drinks were even better. Next time I'm in the area I'll be sure to stop by again. read more

So, this is a bar in the Hilton West Palm Beach hotel. We came here for an app and a drink because housekeeping was nice enough to leave us a free app card. My first impression of this was not great...we came here around 8PM, and the live music was blasting so loudly that my ears were ringing. We almost left without our free app...which is really saying something. After walking around, we finally found a spot where the music was slightly more blocked out. Our waiter looked quite busy, but it took a very long time for us to get a menu. I ordered a speakeasy with regular tequila rather than the jalapeno tequila. I just don't really like spicy drinks. It was okay. It tasted a bit like spiked lemonade. It cost $14....outrageous prices. All cocktails were at least $14, and the cheapest glass of wine was $11. Everything was overly marked up. We shared the Spanish Octopus appetizer, which was normally $17. This is definitely what saved this Yelp rating, because it was absolutely delicious. Like, ridiculously delicious. Not great at all. Pasta was extremely underdone (not Al Dente) in the lobster and shrimp pasta. Caught a few shells in it as well. Got a non alcoholic watermelon juice drink that tasted like it wasn't fresh. My friend asked for the shrimp in her salad to be cooked really well. The first time it came out the shrimp looked translucent. They were brought back and cooked again. Came out a second time and they still weren't cooked well. Appetizers were fine. Our party of four ate dinner here shortly after checking into the Hilton at West Palm Beach. My expectations were not high given that Galley is a hotel restaurant. Big mistake! Everything we had was excellent. Two types of empanadas, ceviche, pizza, and the short rib. Drinks were good, and the service was excellent. Time for another show at Kravis and decided to try a different location for dinner. But a hotel restaurant? I should have known better. We were seated and forgotten. Strike one. We ordered cocktails and being Cinco de Mayo I thought maybe a drink special? Nope, my wife ordered a Cosmo, why not I like them. We'll Strike two it was more margarita in a way? The lime juice was so overwhelming it was not drinkable. What? I don't think I can remember more than a couple times. Ok so two of us and three items. A salad dressing on the side no onions add shrimp, beef empanada ( it was Cinco de Mayo) and side of corn, building my own Mexican vibe since no specials? Ok pretty straightforward? Nope they forgot the shrimp. Server were are you? Well 15 min later sorry did not hear you. Even after she repeated the order to us. Strike three I can put this on my no need to return list. They did comp the drinks and let me know they did not add an automatic gratuity to the bill. How nice. read more

There's a lot to take in when you first enter the Galley. Straight in front of you are comfy sofas with pillows and a booth for a party of 6. Then, there's the bar, with televisions and special lit up lower seating at one end complete with an outlet in case one chooses to peruse work emails while sipping on one of their famous Smokey old fashioned. To the left is a nice huge outdoor fire pit sectioned off near the pool with seating Available. Dining in tables are available. Towards the back is a huge pizza oven and prep area. I can only vouch for a few menu items. The Smokey old fashioned (I do not drink, but my Roommate and boyfriend, who is a self proclaimed professional old fashioned connoisseur) give it two big thumbs up. A contraption to infuse the alcohol in a globe of Smoke is used. The octopus is cooked by first boiling it with green papaya seeds which releases the enzyme pepsin to break down amino acids in the octopus..it is then grilled resulting in TENDER morsels of tentacle. $17 for one portion $25 for two portions. The burger ($19) is a brisket beef blend served with melted foi gras butter on top. The foi gras flavor was too faint to notice. It was served with micro greens and a tomato slice and French fries. Though juicy and flavorful...it was overpriced. However, you are paying for Hilton ambience and not burgerfi. Dessert was a vegan Whoopie pie ($8.) I've had enough vegan experience to know that when a dessert is vegan that's code word for extra sugar to make up for flavor. The soft chocolate cookie Portion was dense, and the cream filling tasted like pure powdered sugar. It was served with a small vial of milk. The size was small...about equivalent to diameter of a coke can. My Bf ordered the s'mores ($9)....let's not start how we paid almost $10 for basically three bites. Imagine one marshmallow and one graham cracker cut into three pieces. 4 stars for the AMAZING AND FRIENDLY BAR TENDERS and for the good food. Just because I think it's overpriced doesn't mean it deserves 3 stars. read more

But $20 to park and not self parking.. crazy.. the inside was gorgeous and even on the patio of the restaurant. Beautiful, I would say the only reason I gave 2 stars... but the service was slow as hell. The hostess had to come back to get us waters at least. Finally after 30 mins of waiting the waitress came to get our drink order and we ordered of food, just in case she won't be back for a while. The BEST drinks, appetizers & meal! The restaurant is inside the Hilton which offers free valet parking for restaurant guests. The server was super nice & knowledgable on the menu. Food: The pizza and salads were great. Service: Could be better. Waited five minutes from arrival to being greeted. Had to remind the server of my drink order, after the food was served. Atmosphere: The decor is fresh and attractive. I visited on a Friday night and the band was way too loud. Table conversation had to be yelled and even then was hard to be heard. I like loud music, but I don't think this is the right venue. I will give Galley another try, on a night when they do not have live music. read more

If I could choose one of the BEST restaurants I've ever been to, I would pick Galley. Last night was my second time going and again, I was highly satisfied with everything. From our friendly and attentive server Nati, to the quality of the food and beverages. I ordered the Churrasco (which I almost never eat red meat) medium well with a side of the street corn. Chefs kiss. Someone in my party had the Togarashi Cauliflower and I was blown away by the richness of the flavor. The sauce is amazing as well. Now typically I don't eat dessert but it was someone's birthday in my party so we got the Oven Baked Cookie and OMG. It just keeps getting better and better. I'm not a dessert person at ALL but I devoured that treat and I think the sea salt paired with the vanilla ice cream and the oven baked cookie is simply perfection. Side note, for drinks the True Friends cocktail was recommended by the server and it was quite tasty. You get complimentary valet if you dine in so that was also a huge plus. Overall, I would definitely come to this restaurant again and again and again. Keep in mind, this is more on the fine dining side so if you're thinking of splurging, I couldn't recommend this restaurant enough. If you sit outside in a chilly day they have heaters. Yesterday I sat inside and I was amazed by the decor. The paintings are beautiful and eccentric, the variety of plants gives a great touch and the gold accents are just amazing to look at. read more

Even more so the staff is on point. This seemed like exactly my type of place, so I was excited to try it. The vibe is great, and the outdoor seating is beautiful. That said, the food was mediocre and the service was worse. The food took at least 40 minutes to arrive after we ordered. Picanha was dry, overly salted/seasoned, and not juicy at all. Felt like a low quality steak, even though I usually like stuff that's heavily spiced/seasoned. Burgers were cold - seemed like they'd been sitting out and nobody brought it out. The only good thing was the truffle fries, which were excellent. Nobody checked on us for the entire meal, so we weren't able to tell anybody about the cold burgers. At no point did anybody ask how the food was. To top it off, the 20% gratuity was included in the check, even though we were only a party of 3. I usually leave 20-25%, but I was even more annoyed to reward poor service. It makes one feel like the staff don't care to check on you because they know it won't affect the tip. read more

Our take-away pizza was very tasty, however the hostess who provided my bill added a 20% service charge/tip for my takeout order (for my "convenience," as stated on my check). I questioned the charge & she stated it was their policy to add a 20% tip to all food orders, including takeout. I feel this is a completely absurd policy as take-out is not dine-in as there is no "service" to charge for other than the chef sliding the pizza into the box & tossing plastic silverware into a brown paper bag. I don't mind adding my own discretionary tip on to-go orders, however adding a to-go "service charge" is completely improper. Beware of this absurd fee whenever ordering takeout from this restaurant. read more

Came here because of the Airtab app and wanted to get a drink with my girlfriend. We were so pleasantly surprised with the service, atmosphere and cuisine. First of all, we like to dine in places that are quieter. If we can converse without annoying music, traffic or too many people competing to be heard, we won't be back. This experience was spot on for us. Just enough people to spread out and still see others but not have to shout over. We sat outside and had no clue that we were even near Okeechobee Blvd. Cars and pedestrian traffic abounded but we never heard them. Sitting by the pool poses no issues either. The crab cake appetizer was full of crab and quite delicious. We shared a pizza that had salmon and feta on it. So good and inexpensive if you just wanted to snack and drink. We had a cookie with ice cream for dessert as the waitress suggested and boy it was good. All I can say is if you want to have a small escape from all the hoopla and over exposure to your senses so you can just romantically or casually just enjoy good company, this is the place. George was the most excellent waiter last night. Not only did he treat us like we were his only guests, it was very obvious that he treated his other tables the same. Creating a relationship to ensure our comfort. My daughter and I enjoyed one of the Friday night sushi specials and we both agreed it was amazing. We've enjoyed sushi from all over that has been reminisced over for years(curaçao, Aruba, San Diego etc). The roll we chose was perfection. My son isn't an adventurous eater and found the menu limited. George was very accommodating and had a cheese pizza made for him. Which he declared a top three pizza! We live near Chicago so that's impressive! My husband enjoyed the filet which was cooked to perfection! I had to try the Smokey old fashioned, being from Wisconsin. Wow! An impressive presentation! I asked for it to be sweet...again, Wisconsin! Wow! It was strong! Very good drink! My daughter insisted on the cookie with ice cream dessert to celebrate her gymnastics meet competition accomplishments. George encouraged us so we went for it. Wonderful restaurant in the Hilton hotel downtown WPB! Although there are tons of restaurants to choose from, we always eat here when we are staying at the hotel. Sat at the bar tonight with Daniel, he was so attentive and super sweet!!! Hands down one of the best steaks I've ever had, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Tried the halibut tonight and wow, simply seasoned on a bed of mashed potatoes with asparagus and I am very impressed. Not to mention the chocolate chip skillet cookie with vanilla bean ice cream and caramel sauce.....delicious!!!
