Visited recently during happy hour! It had been some time since I was last here. Sat at the bar and service by Calvin was great. I enjoyed a nice cocktail and some pasta (not on happy hour). I need to come back sooner than later. I forgot how much I like this place.
I discovered this restaurant a couple of days ago and decided to come for lunch. I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana and it was pretty good. The complimentary bread was very good and the dipping oil was quite flavorful. Being mid-afternoon, the restaurant was on the empty side, but with that I was able to see the decor and it has a well-decorated interior. Our waitress, Brenda, was wonderful. I would definitely come back to try more dishes!
Disclaimer first. I work nearby, so the vast majority of my experiences here have been during lunch hours. I've done dinner here too, but that's pretty rare. So, maybe that should be part of the consideration with my review. Honestly, though? It's gone downhill somewhat over the past year or so. Our office still gets catered pizza lunches from them about once a month on average, and let me say... their pizza is great!! Even just their regular cheese pizza, though the Grandma's Pie might be my new favorite. The last two times I visited the restaurant for dine-in, though, I was very disappointed in my meal. In both cases, I ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich; first it was the chicken parmesan and then recently it was the chicken Milanese. Both times, the chicken itself had very little flavor, if any! The toppings were fine, but there just wasn't anything to it, taste-wise. I was both surprised and underwhelmed. The bread they gave us to start was kind of stale. It was way too chewy to just be full of gluten. I wish the sandwiches were served on this type of bread, though, because they just use this ordinary soft regular sub roll, the kind you get at any supermarket. One naming complaint: they list their sandwiches as "panini." They are not. A panini should be grilled and pressed and served warm. These sandwiches are not grilled or pressed (see picture) and definitely not served warm. Just call them sandwiches, it's okay. The pepper shaker was empty. That's not really a huge deal, but it's indicative of a bigger issue... staffing. Or, cutting corners (standard tasks) because of a lack of time or personnel. One of the small side plates the brought to the table had a huge chip missing out of the side. Again, it's a minor thing by itself. But, many minor things add up to a bigger picture. Overall, though, it was a decent lunch (this last visit). Every restaurant has their ups and downs. Their pizza still hits the spot in my opinion, and the service was friendly and fast. We all had a good time, which at the end of the day is all you can ask for.
I've really enjoyed the pappardelle bolognese here! The portion size of it is also huge, and I have leftovers for days. It's my favorite dish on the menu. It's an elegant restaurant with lots of dining tables and bar seating. Lots of parking in the lot as well. I also went for V-day and they had a decent valentines menu! Only one of the dishes had bland food (I believe it was the steak and potatoes dish). The drinks were so pretty and sweet and the apps were delicious. I'll have to go back and try another dish on the menu to see what else I like from there.
Ate here for lunch got the dish with fettuccini noodles, shrimp, scallops, and white sauce topped with crab meat. I don't remember the name. Dish was good. The bread is great (nice and soft). Started with the vegetable soup. The soup was good. The bartender was the waiter for about 3 tables. Every time we needed something we had to keep waving for his attention. Even to order and to pay the bill. He never came back to check on us. We had two flies constantly trying to land on our food so we had to cover it up! Flies are just disgusting.
Update 8/25- They seem to be back on the ball. We enjoyed the brussels this time. Our waiter told us we could have it prepared differently (off menu) as deep fried with bacon and chili sauce. Although the Mediterranean Insalate (Salad) is smaller than before, it's still very fresh and tastes good with blackened chicken. Hubby and U split a pizza, which had good flavor! Desserts are tasty. And they have really good drip coffee by Lavazza.
Gallianos is a shirt drive from the major shopping center in Maple Lawn. I had a little trouble finding it because there is no signage on the building. The restaurant is spacious and connected to a business office. They have seating at a bar with options to watch different games as well as more intimate seating options. My friend and I ordered their Arancini as an appetizer. I thought the crunchy exterior paired with the soft and tomatoey filling was perfect. I also had their spaghetti and signature meatball dish. I was a little confused when my dish came out because it was 4 meatballs rather than one 12oz meatball that was listed in the menu description. The meatballs were lacking some flavor, but the spaghetti was my ideal bite. Their sauce is pretty sweet, but I like it that way! I was very impressed by their wide menu options. I definitely want to go back and try more.
The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was a good volume/selection. Our server Todd was very nice. But, you're not here to hear about that- you want to hear about the food! It's a restaurant after all. Bread with olive oil was delicious and the margherita pizza was good, a bit saucy with mozz falling off but pretty typical. The main dishes gave us mixed feelings. The spaghetti with meatball (yes, it's just one big meatball) barely had any spaghetti which was really odd proportions. Branzino fish was mushy, it was probably frozen and didn't turn out well after defrosting. The penne alle vodka tasted great but the pasta was a little overcooked. Veal was a little tough. Broccolini was perfect. So you can see how there was good and bad. Not quite the Italian meal we wanted. TLDR: food was mid :(
Galliano provides a lovely ambiance for a weekend lunch with friends. But service was very slow. It did not seem like it was too busy as we didn't have reservations and were able to be seated right away and it was not overcrowded the entire time we were there. We were a party of five but I will review the dishes that I ordered. We were told that they have French onion soup as a special that day. It's been such a cold winter that any soup sounded wonderful. For the entrees, we got chicken parm and shrimp and scallops with spinach. Unfortunately, our meals took over 30 minutes to arrive. I thought the soup would at least come sooner but it appeared only a few minutes before all of our entrees. It was still satisfying in a thin broth with lots of onions. It's always fun dangling the stringy cheese. I very much enjoyed the shrimp and scallops with spinach. It had a nice presentation and creamy sauce. The dish was warm but not hot so it was sitting for a while before being brought to the table. The other dish was the chicken parm and it was cold. We did not return it because we did not want any food wasted. Another friend did inform the restaurant that her side item was cold and they immediately brought more. Before leaving, someone in our party ordered additional items to go but there was a mistake in the order and it had to be prepared again. Though I think the servers were friendly, the restaurant missed the mark on the timeliness of our meals and the accuracy of the to-go order. Since our meals were brought to us so late, I think a quick check in from the server would have been nice or more bread or something as a kind gesture for the wait. I would really like to give this place another try. The location, atmosphere, and offerings in the menu beckons a revisit. And everyone deserves a second chance. Parking: Spaces in front and I believe I saw more spaces in the back if you're not inclined to parallel park. Noise level: Comfortable conversation level.
Popping into a local favorite restaurant. Today I enjoyed the cajun chicken tortellini pasta in Alfredo sauce with A Southern Connecticut drink. It was my first time eating tortellini. Pasta was cooked well. Alfredo sauce was filling but need some sale and pepper. I would have liked more of the cajun or blackened spices to come out flavor wise in the dish but overall, it was a great dish. The Southern connection is great drink for the spring and to open your pallet. It was lite, but not to fancy, but ended with a taste of Southern charm. Service is always fantastic. I look forward to my next visit.

Introduction to Galiano on the January 2024 visit: I'm starting a photo series each month of 2024. Galliano is representing January 2024. There's a 1-star I've been dreading to write for a while that can represent April. But to get back to the positive topic of Galiano, I first tried this on Sunday, January 21 with a large Meetup group for dinner. After a crappy weekend where my car battery died on that Saturday, the coldest day of the Winter, derailed my Saturday late afternoon/evening and dealt with getting the new battery at place open on Sunday, which was like $400. That Sunday afternoon I somewhat redeemed the weekend with a movie, then dinner still on this bitterly cold night, then leaving dinner a bit early from the Meetup for another movie on my AMC A-List. Food & Experience in January: There are a few parallel parking spots in front, but the parking in the back is still close. The organizer of the Meetup recommended the crab bisque, Italian medley soup, & the eggplant parmesan as did a couple of others from the group, who had been there. The eggplant parmesan is awesome here! The Italian medley soup is solid too, but not quite as high of enthusiasm but very good. It has beef balls and little pasta pieces. The ambiance is nice table cloth with large windows and comfortable cool lighting. The server was cordial, but I remember he got a couple of people's orders mixed like who had what exactly. No major issue though, and it was a large group so could get confusing. Subsequent visits: I loved the eggplant parmesan so much that I wanted to revisit possibly for other items. I visited again in March, May, & June with my girlfriend with the catalyst as the Meetup. In March my girlfriend was relatively new at that point (I was still single on that January 21 visit). I told her about this Meetup & how great the food particularly the eggplant was. Unfortunately, the organizer of the Meetup had Covid, so we got a different organizer. So, she didn't get to meet him in early March but late March elsewhere instead. In March, we both got the crab bisque, I got a wine, she got a beer, and she got the eggplant I highly recommended, and I wanted to try something different...So, I got the chicken marsala. The Crab bisque was excellent too. Honestly, I was pretty underwhelmed by chicken marsala though. We each tried each others' food and both agreed the eggplant was far superior. On the subsequent visits in May & June, we stuck with the eggplant parmesan since we know that's delicious. Other interesting note in June was the two people we were sitting directly across from, two people who hadn't met each other, both got salmon. Neither of them raved about the salmon saying it was ok. But I'm thinking salmon is weird choice for an Italian restaurant. Summary: Eggplant parmesan & crab bisque are the best two things to get. After having the chicken marsala, I'm a bit nervous to NOT get the eggplant parmesan as I feel like I'll be at least a little disappointed. Overall, Galiano has left a positive impression for service, ambiance, & food, but there's a couple areas where it fell a little short too.
Weeknight dinner. Complimentary bread and olive oil. This place is reminiscent of Mama Lucia's or somewhere along these lines for an American-Italian restaurant. Our waitress was great. My pappardelle was overcooked and excessively saucey. My jalapeño margarita was very much lacking in alcohol and the only thing spicy about it was a sliver end of a jalapeño they put on a skewer. I didn't step foot inside because we ate outside, but it looked spacious and there was a steady stream of people here during dinner. It's not authentic Italian and so long as you set your expectations right, you'll be ok.

While this restaurant looks nice, our experience was poor. Friendly waitress, but slow, inattentive service. Food review was mixed. Incorrect dinner orders caused food to go back; then, long wait time for the replacement left us sitting with no food in front of us while others in our party dined, which was awkward. Tough, chewy, off-tasting shrimp that was suspected not fresh. Seafood dishes didn't have enough seafood in them. Menu pricing is high for this area, which is called "Fulton, Md." What a joke, hahaha, it's really (right next to) Laurel, Md. It's not a city I particularly care for. It's disappointing because the nice ambiance doesn't make up for the poor food & experience. Last but not least, a terrible Maryland Health Department inspection score reported for of the Galliano locations of only 65 out of 100 within the last 6 weeks has resulted in our decision never to return. Makes us wonder if the owner is watching over this place? Makes me think not. If they were, this place could be a gem with the right professional oversight. read more
My fiancé and I go up to Maple Lawn for dinner every so often and realized there are so many options outside our go-tos. I'm so glad we tried Galliano and I'll definitely go back! We went on a Friday night without a reservation, but we're able to sit in the bar area at a high top table. They were fairly busy but our server Rose was nonetheless attentive. I started with a glass of Chianti which was very smooth and delicious. They brought us complimentary bread with a bomb garlic olive oil dip. We got a charcuterie to start which had a nice variety of meats and cheeses. The only downside was we finished the bread and dip before it came out, so there were only 2 pieces of bread on the board. Next time, I'll definitely ask for more bread with the board. For my entree, I got the salsicca and rapini pasta. It had a tasty wine sauce and bits of tomato that added a nice brightness to the dish. Can't wait to try their other pastas and main dishes! read more
Coming into Galliano, the restaurant was a bit packed, and we were asked if we had a reservation -- it's apparently a good idea. But, there's bar seating, which includes some small tables, that's first come, and we jumped at one of those tables. Galliano has a great bar menu of drinks, and I ordered a dirty martini. It was a little heavily brined for my taste, and I wound up getting a glass of wine instead, which was fantastic. Dinner consisted of bread with olive oil - very, very good! - and an a charcuterie plate for an appetizer, with the veal dish for the main. The charcuterie plate was good -- generous portions of meat and cheese -- but it had one strong weakness that so many other places do, too. There were only two little slices of bread with it. Our waitress was busy, and I didn't get a chance to flag her down for more. But, seriously, what do you think I'm gonna do? Scoop up some soft cheese in my bare hands and gob it down my mouth? (Hold on, I've got cheese all over my fingers and need to stop typing a moment). Please, Galliano and every other restaurant out there offering cheese boards: provide enough bread / crackers / whatever to actually EAT the $(#@)# thing! I can't knock Gall for this, because everyone does it. Dinner was fantastic, though. The veal in sauce was perfectly portioned, well cooked, and delicious. I know veal is a little gauche to eat, but ... do yourself a favour and be immoral, have some baby cow. It's delish. :) Overall, a really great experience. I also liked that the owner/manager/some-random-bald-guy came by to ask how everything was. We'll definitely go back. read more

A friend of mine from New York said he came here and had the best pizza that reminded him of pizza back home. I was told to try the Grandma pizza which consists of mozzarella, provolone, basil, fresh garlic, and their housemade pizza sauce. I added pepperoni because I likes the meats. I went home and enjoyed it so much that I went back the next day this time ordering both their Grandma and their Meat Lover. The meat lover consisted of mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, and their housemade pizza sauce. I preferred the Meat lover but both were definitely delicious. I also got some of their cookies brought in from a bakery in New York along with a Canoli. I must agree with the assessment that the pizza here is delicious. read more

**3.5 stars Came with my friend for her bday and was lucky that it fell between restaurant week so we were able to get a reservation for friday night. I think overall our favorite part was the appetizers. We got the brussels sprouts and the rice balls and we were pleasantly surprised by both. They were delicious but also very filling. For entrees I got the gnocchi and my friend got the pollo valdostana. The gnocchi was super chewy and flavor was great. The pollo dish had a sauce that was super salty and was what drenched the prosciutto topped chicken breast. I personally felt like the proscuitto was salty on its own without the addition of the salty sauce. Overall, I would say some items were a hit some were a miss but im glad i got to try it during restaurant week! vibe was great for a girls night out and the drinks were strong! read more

Went here for a late lunch/early dinner with my coworkers. The waiter was great, he was knowledgeable of the menu items and specials and was very attentive to our needs. The food was amazing and they had no problem tailoring it to what we wanted. I specifically wanted a particular pasta dish but with their spicy sauce and they did it and it was perfect! All of our entrees were amazing. My coworkers split a bottle of wine that they said was really good. Other notes: ample parking, happy hour specials (food and drinks) in the bar area, very nice for a casual lunch or a nice dinner. read more

I found Galliano on a drive by because nothing captures my attention more than an outdoor patio with lush greenery, lighting, and an Italian name. Meade was a great server. Personable, knowledgable about the selections and gave her opinion about inquiries on the menu. I paired my shrimp scampi dish with the Albariño because it is International Albariño Day and Week, starting today! Perfect complement. The coarse sea salt and black pepper were right on time. We had the signature meatball for an appetizer with pretty poufs of ricotta cheese. The soft bread and garlic laden olive oil was magnificent *chefs kiss* I'd come here again. Next time I will order the Bourbon Bramble. read more
We got carryout from Galliano and my favorite was the pappardelle bolognese! We also ordered burrata with focaccia and tomatoes; eggplant parmigiana lunch; fettucini mediterraneo lunch. The burrata was deliciously creamy. The eggplant parmigiana only came with one piece of eggplant on a bed of spaghetti, but it was also good. My kids loved the creamy fettucini which comes with shrimp, scallops, and crab. This was a solid choice for Italian food and we'll be back again! read more

I would have given this place 5 stars but unfortunately the drink mango tango a mock tail wasn't all that amazing for its price point. The dessert was okay, wasn't something very memorable.. THE FOOD HOWEVER IS AMAZING!!! I ordered a pasta entree and the spices and sauce, everything was amazing!!!!!!! I had an amazing time with my friends! The staff is amazing including the manager on duty! My friends ordered different dishes and they loved their food as well! The portion sizes are very good as they are very generous! Over all I would recommend this place for sure! Atmosphere.........9/10 Cleanliness .......11/10 Food................10/10 Dessert.............4.5/10 Drinks.................5.3/10 Service..................10/10 Staff........................11/10 (amazing staff kind, friendly and very attentive) Price point................7.5/10 pretty pricey for some things that are average such as the desserts and mock-tails. $$$ I would recommend this place as they have amazing food! read more

Was honestly shocked how large the serving was for the classic veal parmigiana dinner. Usually I'm hesitant to say this, but that could 100% be shared between two people. The Linguine Vongole was a little smaller with less sauce so more manageable for one person, but definitely still a big serving. Pretty tasty overall. I love this place! Their food is so yummy. It is great for a date night. They have lovely decor and the service was great. We got shrimp scampi and I loved their gelato dessert. They have such great drinks too. They were easy to make reservations with. read more
Second time here with my sons for Father's Day. Since it was brunch, they ordered the Chesapeake omelette and Linguine Michael Angelo. I had the Portobello Mushrooms and their version of a seafood stew. Our service was slow for the small crowd. Haley was our server and have not seen her since we put in our order. The mushrooms were good. I liked the bleu cheese sprinkles. I took a picture of the stew now to taste it. Tasted good needed a pinch of pepper for a little kick. I think it was the stew that caused the slow service. read more
Came here recently on a Saturday night, and instantly liked the ambiance! My friends and I did not have reservations, but luckily there was a few available tables outdoors (we came at 5pm). They also had live music later on in the evening outside--and it was not too loud. I recommend the Penne alla Vodka and Ravioli di Aragosta pasta dishes--both were delicious and well-flavored! The Grilled Mediterranean Branzino was good too. I really liked their Cucumber Alli Martini--it's a bit strong but has a nice refreshing taste. I need to come back and try more of their other dishes! read more

Great happy hour! Half off all appetizers and they were really delicious! We love calamari so we got both fried & grilled. Both tender and scrumptious. We also had sweet mussels that were in a really flavorful lemon butter broth like sauce . We were still hungry so we ordered the Mediterranean meatballs , 2 huge , tasty meatballs topped with parmesan slices & served on a tomato sauce that an Italian grandma must have cooked. We also had the shrimp arugula which came with cannellini beans & supposed to be in a roasted garlic sauce - a bit bland but the shrimps (3) were huge. All in all a very satisfying fare & at half price , even better! We'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu! read more
We ordered takeout after hearing good things about their good. It was definitely a delicious meal. We had Grandma's pizza with meatballs and the sauce is perfect. It was a great brick oven pizza with hand tossed dough. I would would have liked more sauce because it was so good! We also got calamari which was good but probably would be better to eat immediately. It wasn't as crispy as fresh once we got it home. The addition of peppers and sauces were really good. We also got fettuccini Alfredo and you can tell the noodles are ha dna de. Very good. I didn't know there was a separate entrance for take out so I walked through the restaurant first. The takeout door is in the middle and looks like your walking into an office building. read more

The food was not as great as expected. Meatballs and sauce lacked flavor. The dessert was amazing though. I got the creme brûlée. The service was great, the staff was really sweet and attentive and the general ambiance of the restaurant was quiet and relaxing. read more

My friends invited me to this Italian restaurant for dinner. We didn't have reservations but I would highly recommend you do. We were seated at the high top tables by the bar. They have the windows/doors open and very nice summer atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and busy. We ordered the Sangria and then an appetizer & pizza as an appetizer. The Pizza was amazing. Great chewy crust, more like a NY style and good sauce. The Calamari was good but when it was served it was room temperature , was not so delicious as it could have been. Has small peppers fried in with the calamari and good marinara on the side. The Lasagna was hot and just the right about it ricotta. Delicious!! Grilled Fish was cooked beautifully and was a good portion. Seafood fettuccini had Mussels, clams, scallops, shrimp, and I asked for Vodka sauce- all was cooked perfectly except the fettuccine was clumped together and a bit hard. Plate wasn't steaming hot too. I was a little disappointed as pasta should be the one thing coming out of an Italian kitchen that's perfect. The dessert was so creamy and fresh. Any restaurant tuck away in a neighborhood is a true gem. I went out on the limb and didn't read any reviews before I arrived. Galliano is simply BUONO and exceeded my expectations. Service, food, drinks, and atmosphere checked all my boxes and my vegetarian friend as we. It's a cute spot for every occasion. Wine by the bottle is half priced on Wednesdays (happy dance). Collectively we ordered the tomato caprese, margherita flatbread , and salmon with broccolini and potatoes. Everything was well presented and fresh. I will be back read more

I returned to try different menu items and for the most part I was pleased! Overall service is still great. The staff was kind and friendly. Our carryout order came out promptly. The pasta was awesome. The pizza not so much. If it weren't for the pizza I would have bumped them up to four or five stars. Spaghetti and Meatball - Loved it. This is the spaghetti that comes with their "signature" 12oz meatball. I wanted to give this signature meatball a try. Luckily we double checked when the order came out because it was spaghetti and a bunch of smaller meatballs. So heads up if you order this dish! Make sure to clarify! They refired with the gigantic meatball no problem. The meatball was huge and I didn't get anywhere close to finishing it. It was really flavorful and moist! The ricotta added a nice and unexpected touch to their take on spaghetti and meatball. Do note that you don't get as much spaghetti because the meatball is huge. Pizza - It pains me to say this but our pepperoni pizza tasted like mall food court pizza. Or airport pizza. I love pizza and it's rare for me to take a bite out of my first slice and put it down. Sadly I did this with their pizza. It was greasy and bland. Very bland. Luckily we both got other entrees. We only ate two slices. Bread - They've switched this up. We got boring plain super tiny bread this time around. The bread we previously got was tasty focaccia like pizza bread. Maybe it's my fault for telling everyone to ask for bread. If y'all are reading this, please bring back the bread you had a few months after opening! I'll definitely be back but I will be sticking with the pasta as it seems to be their strength. read more

5 star Italian cuisine straight from Italy. Prepared to perfection. Live music, large bar area. They make you feel like part of a true Italian family with their welcoming staff lead by an amazing manager and a your crew. I loved their Picatta with lemon butter wine and capers and the U-wish cocktail with homemade blueberry syrup, Cranberry juice, Wisher Vodka and Soda water was delicious. There is always a full restaurant here if you like the action, but there are quiet corners to hideaway in too. read more
