This is our go-to place for game-watching days as the interior is pretty big and we usually don't have a problem finding a table near one of the three big-screens in the main room. The beer selection is pretty good and they always seem to have something on special. The grilled cheese, with or without caramelized onions and tomatoes, is the best I've had in the Columbus. I'm a Browns Backer and this is our home club. Always a great time when I'm there. The service is always outstanding!!! And unlike other bars in the area, there food is made fresh everyday. We had a group of 9 and the service was outstanding! They let us set up tables in the back area where it was not very busy yet that evening. The food was all wonderful and I would highly recommended the mussels and fries! I also had a burger that was well prepared and my friends all had something different that we all shared and enjoyed together. For the quality of the food, the prices were also quite reasonable as well. A great evening spent in a really great place. Somehow we always go on big sports game days, but luckily find a seat. They have lots of yummy things on their menu, but the best is their pizzas. If you love trying new pizza, give them a try. I am not typically a fan of bar food. Actually, I usually dislike it. This is the only bar I can enjoy eating at. They have an extensive menu with different items you wouldn't be able to find at bdubs or roosters. My favorite is their meatball panini. The bartenders are super friendly and the interior decor is a step up from typical bars. They have a lot of unique beers on tap which I like to try. Overall, I would say this is my favorite local bar near Bethel Road. read more

IMO pizza in C-bus is fairly predictable and not very good for the most part. A lot of average pizza but only few that I'd consider really good. Picked up a Gallos pizza few weeks ago and have to say that they knocked it out of the park. Great NY style crust, crispy and not soggy at all. I'm pretty sure they make the sausage in house and I also got mushrooms and pepperoni. Just the right amount of cheese and sauce was hearty and complex but not over-whelming. Not your greezy, cheesy pie if that's what your looking for. Liked it so much I picked up another pie few days ago and it was just as consistent as my first pie. Not cheap pizza but I think that they use top ingredients so to me it was worth it. Great pizza! read more

Gallo's Tap Room was introduced to me by a friend who is a loyal patron. He loves their mussels and their wide variety of wings. He described the service staff as kind, efficient and on top of their game. And he drinks brew! So I've now been twice. I've ordered and eaten their wings and boneless wings (terayaki and cock fight flavors) and must admit the food is damn good. I also had mussels which were a little wishy-fishy-washy for me (oops, there goes the 5-star rating; dangerous to have shellfish gamey). The pizza (pepperoni, spinach and feta) is excellent. Best? I had the grilled cheese sandwich on texas sized toast with tomato slices and bacon. OH YEAH! Order that sandwich and you'll be getting flavor, melty runny cheese and ... the only thing missing would be a small cup of tomato bisque to dip the corners in!!! I've also had the hummas and pita (pita has seeds on it; tasty too) as an app but it's smallish as apps should be. More veggies were needed. Plenty of TVs to see sports and the seating areas are numerous. Gallo's Tap Room is a go-to if you want food Americana style and pub atmosphere. Good stuff - really good. read more

Surprisingly very good food. The loaded sweet potatoes are fantastic! The service was not good, the bartender was unnecessarily rude and aggressive. I was quit take back. She had just an overall bad attitude. It appeared as though she had worked there for awhile, so maybe she is too complacent in her job. I served for six years and even on my worst day I was not that rude to a customer. The vibe was I would really prefer if you and your friends were not here. Very odd to say the least. read more

I visited Gallo's Tap Room on Friday, 2/21/14. On our last visit in December 2012 we walked out after sitting for 15 minutes without ever being acknowledged by any staff member. We gave it another shot and regretted it. The menu seemed to have shrunk and the food was not a good as remembered. But the real issue was the service - again we waited at least 10-15 minutes before a greeting and receiving water & menus. We had to flag down our server to order food and beer. Once the food was finally served she never checked in on us, or asked if we needed anything (we would have spent more money and ordered more beers if given the opportunity). We again had to flag down our server for our bill, which took many attempts. It was a Friday night but it was not overly busy, the service just needs some major improvement. read more

Gallo's is a solid four stars. They have an amazing craft beer selection featuring many Ohio made beers. The staff is super cool and I love that it is family owned and operated. The menu is amazing. Not a ton of healthy choices but if your up for getting your grub on this place can get the job done. There's a little patio to enjoy on nice days. There are also tons of TV's, including at least one large projection screen. Perfect for gameday. Love it! read more

What sort of bar patron are you? Because at this place it matters. Atmosphere: This is the sort of place that is more likely to be frequented by people 30+ years of age, such as myself, but it is not unusual to see people in their fifties and sixties, especially at dinner and lunch time. There is music occasionally but it is very generic, so if you have ever wanted to be in an elevator with large screen televisions and drunk people but with the music even lower in volume, then this is a good place for that. Decorations are limited, however they do have a Golden Tee machine that is regularly attended by Golden Tee weirdos on the weekend and a series of pool tables that are rarely in use. In addition, it is not uncommon for people to bring their children here. Food: Fine, but not great. The entrees can be good and are reasonably priced. The appetizers however are generics that are just a few dollars short of the entree prices and sometimes suffer in quality (at least a few of them are frozen or tasted frozen to me). For entrees think higher quality less expensive Applebees, for appetizers think overpriced high school football game concession stand. Drinks: Decent variety of beers on tap and a variety of mixed drinks. Also a pretty decent set of prices. On Fridays and Sundays Bud Light and Abita Purple Haze is best price in town for a large draft. Service: This place is owned by the Gallo family and they seem to be very loyal to their servers and extended family. In addition, it is worth noting that the Gallos seem to be good people. In this place I have asked to have lights added to my table, to change the channel, to get the private WiFi password, etc. and they have always said yes. That said, the Gallo brothers often defer to very attractive but non-qualified servers and extended family who have zero interest in giving good service because they can never be fired. If you are a regular they will talk to you at the bar for 20 straight minutes and ignore all of the other tables. You will get your first beer in a few minutes or seconds. Unless you are a regular sitting at the bar prepared to wait 30-40 mintues, or go up to the bar and beg for your second drink. This happens consistently and is not accident, they are a bar that seems to not have figured out that more customers is better. Overall, decent bar if that is the atmosphere you are looking for. read more

Not impressed, stopped in here just to grab a couple drinks after dinner. Asked the bartender if they had summer shandy, she just stared at me and pointed at the taps and said that's all we have, a simple no sorry would have been sufficient. Then I asked if they had seasonal Sam Adams in bottle since it wasn't on tap, again same response except this time she just pointed at the bottles in the fridge and didn't say anything. How the heck do they expect me to see or know everything that they have. They are the only bar in Columbus I've come across that doesn't have Summer Shandy.. pretty weird if you ask me and because of the rude bartender won't be going back, don't know her name but she just seemed pretty pissed off the whole time. read more

Mixed review here. I have been here a couple of times now when I stop in town. My friend lives nearby and always suggests going here. While the food was pretty good (not amazing but good) the service has always been a problem here. This last trip here our waitress was attentive....but a little bit too attentive. To start she walked up on me and I happen to be on the phone at the time. She just stood there and stared at me as I pointed to the phone next to my head. She still didn't leave so I told her just bring waters. She brings the waters back and again kept trying to talk to me while I am clearly on the phone. Most people would just say ok I will come back but she just waited for us to order a drink....very awkward. She kept stopping by our table every 3 minutes. Now don't get me wrong I appriciate being asked about my food and checking on drinks but it was 1pm on Sunday...FOOTBALL time. This girl kept walking in front of us and asking if we were ok. After the 5th time asking us in 15 minutes I think you can assume we are OK. It felt like she was rushing us. In fact she tried to take my gf's food before she was done and she took her beer when she had a couple of drinks left. I really like the place but I think the wait staff needs some monitoring and training possibly. read more

Went to the new Gallo's in Powell tonight....the food was very good(pizza, meatball sandwich, portobella mushroom sandwich) , the restaurant was energetic, and overall, we had a good experience....one BIG issue, and it's the same at other Gallo's, is that they give you a WARM glass, right out of the dishwasher, for your bottled beer....and the bottled beer is not cold to begin with...get draft beer here, or drink by the bottle or can...if they fix that, this place is a keeper... read more

We have returned to Gallo'sTap Room for their pizza in the past. What a surprise on Friday Night . The pizza thin crust was so hard that we could not eat the outside edge. It was the worst pizza i had in a long time. Our waitress, Lisa apologized and did not understand why the poor quality she offered the following as a reason:"maybe a new oven?" The saving part of the night was a goo beer selection. They need to get their act together before opening their new location in Powell. Not sure when we will return. read more

We eat at Gallo's Taproom fairly frequently. Sistine Chapel pizza is one of my most favorite pizzas in all of Columbus. I haven't eaten anything I haven't liked there. Great burgers, wings, hummus, chicken and waffles, and calzones... Bar food at its best!! I also love scoping out their page-long draft list which always has great choices. I have heard nothing but good things about Gallos Tap Room, so I decided to go meet some friends there for dinner and a couple of drinks a couple of Fridays ago . I was the first person there and I sat at the bar for a beer and wait for my friends. Good beer selection, and service was fine. When my friends showed up we grabbed a table. Bad Idea. The server took a while to come over, was very friendly at first, and took our drink order. She came back with our drinks, and told her we just needed a minute to decide what we wanted. She took FOREVER to come back. Every time we needed something we would look for her, and she seemed more interested in texting on her phone than helping us. In fact all the servers were just hanging out, as I walked up they were just talking about how drunk they got last night and that they were hung over. I asked for another beer, and she seemed annoyed that I asked. Cool place, and I may have just got them on a bad night, but the service needs work. read more
