I love this store! I went in there with friends to just browse and I was amazed by the awesome selection of old games that I love. I had a million silly questions for the girl behind the desk and she was so awesome at answering my questions while doing a bunch of other tasks. She even looked up games for me so I could know what they were before I bought them! I will definitely go back there. The only complaint I have are the prices. They seem a little high to me, but the selection is awesome and it's worth it to go in there and peek around. read more

Game Gurus is a beautiful establishment with extremely helpful employees, except for one. Usually my experience at this store is very positive and fun, but on several occasions I have come and an employee named Feather is working the experience is very negative. Whenever I would ask her a question she would be very rude in answering, even going as far to say to me "Oh, you're talking to me?" when there is no one else in the store. On another day I went to sell my ps3 I asked if they formatted the system after buying it and when she said no I asked if I could do it if they decided to buy it from me and she abruptly dropped the controller on the counter and walked away. All and All Game Gurus and most of the staff have always been courteous and great to me, but the experience is ruined by this one employee, other wise my rating would have been 5 stars. read more

Brought in my NES because their website says they repair them for $35. Got bait and switched into buying a refurbished one for $60 instead, take it home, and hey - it doesn't work. Same problem as the one I brought in (which the clerk of course tried to talk me into 'donating' to them for free). Despite the aggressive salesmanship and the bait and switch, I would have been decently happy if the system they sold me actually worked. Also their small selection of good games are grossly overpriced. I'll stick to Pink Gorilla from now on. read more

This is my favorite retro gaming store in the PNW. They really go above and beyond and the selection is incredible. The reproductions they sell are really great quality, I would recommend this place to any retro gaming collector. 10/10. Came here with my kids to sell and buy some games. The young lady behind the counter was extremely helpful and knowlegeable, unfortunately one of the other employees walked in and got very irritated with me as I was waiting for my kids to make their selections. A simple "I'm sorry you can't sit there" would have been sufficient rather than a rude, "that is not a place to sit" and then walking off in a huff. Clearly I was not welcome so we left. Next time I will sit at home and order on line, prices are better too. read more

I'm Josh J.'s brother, the one who brought in the consoles. The short version is that they told me the xbox 360 was going to break anyway and after I complained they returned the larger portion of the repair cost. The PS3 wasn't fully inspected which is why it didn't get fully fixed the first time. I talked to the manager and worked everything out. To my knowledge they have since brought it up to a functional level at no additional charge. I'm thankful they made my PS3 functional again. I just wish they had done the job right the first time... both times. The shop itself is awesome for retro console gamers. They have a wide selection of popular titles from old to new, a book shelf of game guides, and a game room which holds public parties frequently. The location is convenient and the game prices are... collectors prices. That is to say they understand the value of what they're selling, this is no $5 thrift store games in bags situation. The people who work at the shop are friendly and have their own unique opinions about gaming (yes, they're actually people. No robots here). The layout is optimal for the amount of space they have, and there are even playable systems on display! It's a truly beautiful place to visit and shop at. And now tedious details about my experience. In regards to the x-box 360, It was made pre-November 2008, which I'm told is a crap shoot for extensive motherboard complications. Reportedly mine had several. They thought they had fixed this when they returned it the first time. I brought it back because they had not. Their hard testing of the console to find problems ended up frying it. The result is that a semi-functional console that still played DVDs just fine became a brick with red LED lights. No attempt at compensation for a broken system was made, no offer for a discounted functional system. Like a family member who died on the operating table, they comforted me with "well it was going to die soon anyway." Later with a little goading they returned my $65 repair charge on the ground that the system wasn't fixed... which didn't account for the tax included, but I'm glad to get something back. In regard to my rare backwards compatible PS3. Things seemed to go smoothly. I brought it in because it wouldn't turn on. I gave them a $200 repair limit and said "I want this thing to work!" When I got it back It turned on. I browsed the menus and everything seemed fine turned it off and brought it to my brother. My brother put a disc in the drive, said it needed an update. Then begins the infinite update loop. Seems they hadn't tested the system to make sure it worked with discs because I hadn't reported such a problem. I called in and was told promptly that because it wasn't part of the original reason for bringing it in, the warranty didn't apply and I'd have to pay an additional repair charge ($65+TAX) to have them fix a system they called repaired when they gave it back to me. No, I NOTICED the system wouldn't turn on. I brought it in and paid for it to be REPAIRED and gave a reasonable price limit for you to replace damaged parts. Just because I had an educated guess of where the problem laid doesn't mean you get off the hook for not being thorough. After waiting roughly a week to speak to the manager, with a smile and excellent customer service (no joke. The man knows what he's doing) he listened to my story, heard me mention what the error code was when I looked it up online and accepted the system for a potentially free repair. Just over two weeks later, I'm told that they discovered broken clamps that had been jerry-rigged with electrical tape to hold down the cord. They hadn't noticed before (even though I mentioned it the first time, which I guess doesn't matter because repairs are not made on-site) because they didn't inspect the entire system. Originally they replaced the power supply, it turned on, they called it good. When they found the broken clamps, they cleaned the connectors, used heat resistant tape this time (because replacing the clamps would have been harder and taken longer) and again, they called it good. I was assured that the system's optical lens was more likely burn out before the tape would become a problem so there was no reason to replace the clamps... Thanks. That's really comforting. So I was just at Game Gurus, looking for an N wireless antenna for my 360. My Playstation 3 (original) finally died (no video output), and I wanted to watch some Netflix and drink some beers. Actually, I already started drinking the beers. I don't need a console for those. Anyhow, I go in there and talk to Lane, very cool guy, and he hooks me up immediately with a great deal on an antenna. So I start talking about the PS3 yadda yadda, maybe I just need a component cable, does he have one? And instead, Lane tells me how to reset the video on my PS3, and I go home and do it, and it works like a charm. Now I can play The Last of Us! I'm very excited, and will be buying all my used PS4 games from these folks. Also, this store is full of very attractive females who seem to truthfully enjoy games. Basically I'm saying if you don't buy and sell your used games here, you need to go see a therapist, because you have low self esteem and you're angry with yourself and probably one of your parents. Thats very unhealthy. In short, great guys and girls, straightforward and honest, fair pricing, good advice. read more

Place is pretty sketchy. Took a game box up to counter, Destiny complete collection and dude puts regular destiny in case. I ask him and he acts like I'm confused as to why I'm not getting what the case says on the cover, tells me i can buy the dlc online and I'm just like, whatevs, I'm out, y'all are sketchballs, that's it. Oh and raising all the original xbox games for xbox one $20 to like $28 for some of the star wars games, cool move. Bonus uncool points. I'd never thought I would say this but just go to gamestop, they always have 4 for $10 on 4.99 games. read more

They used to run a retro game night every week, with free tournaments and pizza, which was a very cool thing to do for local gamers. The owner has always been fair with me, giving me some good prices on boxed NES games, and taking stuff back when it didn't work to my standards. Prices are a bit high on some items, but they do have a very good selection for pretty much all systems. read more

Do not sell them back any games or consoles. They will not give you a fair compensation. And they will resell for about 15-20$ over what they compensate you with. read more

terrible warranty, have absolutely no way of returning my wii i purchased from them (turns out to be modded great job for not testing out the system fully) without a receipt. they "dont ask anyone for personal information" is what the owner told me so i couldn't use my phone number for a warranty. and apparently they don't have any sort of a scanning system for the consoles. so they cant recognize consoles that have been sold by them. so i asked the owner if even if i came in and he recognized me if we would just swap out mine for a wii that wasn't modded because its a small game store, its not like i'm talking to a manager at a game stop who doesn't have the power to do so. and he still said no..... thanks alot for conveniently not having any other way (besides a receipt) for me to return this janky worthless wii.... seriously douched me out game gurus thank you! read more

Prices were expensive and the place smelt bad. The game I bought didn't work now it's a pain to go back to replace. Very frustrating, they should check if they work before selling them. Thumbs down on this place. read more
