Game is an interesting concept, I love trying different foods and expanding my taste palette. I do think that the restaurant is over hyped than it's out to be and the interior confused me because it reminded me of a bar shack, shabby, and tacky. Service was excellent and our waitress addy-Clare is outstanding with her politeness and service!

It was almost really good.... I just felt like there was an overall sense of the place, the food, the menu, not getting the TLC it deserves. It was pretty dang cold inside, to start with. There were cobwebs and dust on the wall hangings, top of the booths, and the trimming on the wall. The bartender seemed a little unengaged. I ordered a jalapeno margarita that was way too sweet. Maybe they use a jalapeno simple syrup? I'm not sure, but it overpowered the drink. My scotch eggs with pork belly was served lukewarm. The breading on the scotch egg was pretty flavorless and lacked seasoning. The white sauce on the plate was delicious, but you definitely need a ton more if the eggs are going to be so plain. The pork belly was well cooked with a nice smokey meets soy flavor, but I'm not sure if it was supposed to be served hot or cold? Because it was neither. I got a corn veggie burger. I really liked that there was actual corn flavor in it, pointing to the patty being relatively fresh. But all the food had a similar taste to it? I don't know why and don't want to speculate. Even the lettuce and tomato was just kind of... flat. I know that happens sometimes, but securing great produce is part of what makes some restaurants top-notch. Overall, this location of Game feels like a place with a great foundation and great menu that needs to get back in shape.

Game is a really cool and casual restaurant with meat from a wide variety of exotic animals around the world. The food was good, and the service was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is very casual and has a lodge theme. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with booths, tables and seats at the bar. The range of food options is incredible. While Game is a meat lover's paradise, they also have vegetarian options available. I'm a meat lover, so I went with a heavy dose of meat. We started with four sampler meatballs - Antelope meatball - really flavorful - probably our favorite - Camel meatball - good, with nice seasoning - Elk - really good flavor with house seasoning - Kangaroo - good, but a little dry After that we got the Slider Trio - Wild Boar Chorizo Slider, Roasted Bison Tongue Slider, and Duck Confit Slide. The boar chorizo was good, and the duck confit was amazing. I was not a fan of the bison tongue - funky flavor and tough. The spices and sauces Game used to complement the meat in the sandwiches was a great combination. We also ordered a Prime Angus Burger, which was cooked perfectly and was juicy. For sides we ordered some French fries that were perfect and some fried green tomatoes which were good. We will definitely return.

I think I've reviewed before, quite a while ago. We've come for every special occasion for some time & I think it's official, my husband has had every item on the menu! This last item was Rabbit (not pictured), unfortunately it personally has been his least favorite but that is no one's fault! Just doesn't like it. Service is always fantastic as always & on top of it! Glad they weren't extremely busy so it was a relaxing dinner, I suppose we chose the right time! It was my husband's birthday & his best friend brought him Oreo Dessert from home to share! Thought we'd make the staffs night & shared it with our waitress & the kitchen staff, they were VERY appreciative! Thanks for always providing wonderful dishes!

Great burger spot! Check them out for Lou burger week--any other time check them out for a classic or exotic burger Indoor/outdoor seating, eclectic feel, perfect for a date or catching up with friends

We went at opening time and it was probably the same temperature inside that it was outside, about 50 degrees. We wore our coats the whole time. The food was hot, fresh and service was outstanding. I would want to try coming in after they have been open for awhile next time and see if the temperature is more moderate. 5 stars for the food, just took off a star because the temperature was uncomfortably cold even with the coats on.

We left disappointed. To sum it up, this place is a weird, overpriced burger joint. Please note, parking is parallel parking and very limited. Seating is also limited and we froze during our visit, despite sitting in the main area. Our server was nice and attentive. We ordered the nacho appetizer, chefs meat choice was venison and chorizo. We received our appetizer quickly. The pico de gallo tasted very fresh, but the meat was not very good. You can order a variety of game in the form of meatballs or burgers. We ordered the yak burger and kangaroo burger. They had a special of swai fish sandwich so we ordered it. Despite the prices being so high, you're paying around $20 just for the sandwich. If you want a side, you have to pay extra. The swai wasn't very "meaty" and wasn't very flavorful. The burgers were cooked well, but I wonder how much of the ground meat was actual wild game or if it has some beef filler to make the meat go further. The menu says all game is sourced from local farms but most swai is imported from Vietnam and I'm not sure where they're slaughtering kangaroos from in Louisville. Also, our food was served on wooden boards. While that may appear neat, I couldn't help but wonder how clean it actually was since wood is so porous and these had clearly been used quite a bit given all the blemishes and cuts in them. All in all, I'm happy to check this restaurant off my collection board but do not recommend and will not return.

This place is really something special. Best burgers I've ever had and I'll say it forever. My go to is the Bison burger, with a side of duck fat fries and Brussel sprouts. This place really provides you with so many options of meat to try, and a well put together sampler you can purchase to try a little bit of everything. Staff is very attentive; the place itself is a little smaller so you may be waiting on a busy weekend for a table but it's always worth it! This place is a must try to anyone who loves a good burger; and really want something that breaks the mold!

Nice little hole in the wall place, very friendly staff! The nachos and frog legs were delicious! I got the slider trio to try a different variety, they were okay. The chorizo was my favorite, the other two I wasn't too fond of because of the texture. If you're looking for something out of your comfort zone you found it

If you like trying exotic meats then this is the place! Their frog legs were juicy and meaty! We tried different kinds of meatballs like yak and antelope and they were all sooo tasty The service was good! And the restaurant is just minutes away from downtown! They have different types of food and regular food if you're not into exotic meats

One of the most unique meals I've ever had! The walls are covered in taxidermy, adding to the distinctive atmosphere. My husband and I were traveling when he spotted the menu and was instantly intrigued. The frog legs were incredibly tender and delicious, and all the meats were unique and flavorful. Definitely a memorable dining experience!

Wow! What a cool experience! We met friends for dinner at Game, and really enjoyed the food and experience! Great prices for the food too. Individual reviews: The meet takes the cake: the meatballs, sliders, and burger were DELICIOUS. The table loved the bone marrow, though that wasn't my thing. I will say, I wasn't impressed with either salad. I had the seasonal salad and my partner had the grilled ceasar. The dressings weren't great and they were too dressed IMO. We also ordered dessert, and WOW! SO good.

Came here for the first time during burger week and it was awesome. Brought my son while he was visiting. We tried Yak, Antelope, Elk, and Kangaroo meatballs. All cooked perfectly. I went for my tried and true Waygu burger. He had Yak burger. Very enjoyable.

Leah was our dedicated waitstaff and she was assisted by great servers. We were seated in the main dining room and were pleased that the mild weather enabled the doors to be pushed totally open to enjoy the elements. A wall water feature was prominent in our immediate dining area and the visual and audio addition was very pleasant. We were also entertained by subtle, unobtrusive live music provided by a trio who apparently perform nightly. I enjoyed a glass of Prosecco with the fried green tomato, crispy prosciutto, and goat cheese salad. Tomatoes were crunchy and tangy atop a tender bed of baby lettuce. My entree choice was So Difficult to choose among at least six varied choices -- pork chops, U-10 scallops, salmon, lobster ravioli, duck, etc. I finally selected the pecan-encrusted walu Hawaiian butterfish on a bed of sweet potato sage risotto. The fish was moist, flaky, and flavorful with a slight crunchy exterior. It was nestled in a delicious bed of risotto that had the unmistakable sage element. My dining companions enjoyed varied entree choices of salmon, scallops, and steak as well as a bruschetta appetizer, pistachio and goat cheese salads, and bread sticks. Each diner was generously praising their selections. Determined to return here soon to try so many unexplored menu items and enjoy the serene setting. Top notch.

I was hosting a business dinner in Louisville last week and wanted to try someplace new. I scanned…read morethe list of James Beard 2025 semifinalists and focused on two spots: MeeshMeesh and The Fat Lamb. MeeshMeesh is wildly popular and books out 60 days in advance, so that wasn't happening--but I was able to secure a timely reservation at The Fat Lamb. That turned out to be a great decision. It was a pleasure meeting Dallas McGarity, the executive chef and owner. He shared that the restaurant has been open for about ten years and that he's preparing to open a new Italian concept. When the topic of his James Beard nomination came up, he mentioned it was a complete surprise--the restaurant didn't self-nominate--which made the recognition feel even more meaningful. One thing I neglected to ask him directly was why lamb plays such a central role on the menu. Our server wasn't entirely sure either, but she did explain how the restaurant got its name. Apparently, Dallas was traveling through the countryside, spotted a particularly memorable "fat lamb" on a farm, and the name stuck. Sometimes it really is that simple. With four of us dining, we may have gone a bit overboard on starters--but no regrets. We shared the roasted Brussels sprouts, lamb kofta meatballs, fontina and truffle arancini, and the whipped feta and pita. Every dish was well-executed and easy to share, which made them ideal for a business dinner. For entrées, my wife and I split the signature tandoori and ancho spice-roasted lamb chops. They were flavorful without being heavy, and the black barbecue sauce added a nice depth. Our server highly recommended the Moroccan-spiced halibut, which our other guests shared and thoroughly enjoyed--especially the mushroom demi-glace. Dessert was the Nutella mousse, another house signature. The Italian cherries and chocolate shavings were a great finishing touch without pushing things into overly sweet territory. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the service and pacing. The evening flowed naturally--never rushed, never dragging--which is exactly what you want when entertaining clients or colleagues. The Fat Lamb delivered a memorable, well-rounded dining experience and easily earned its reputation. I'd happily return, whether for business or just a great night out.

I ordered the roasted tomato grilled cheese and it was huge! Excellent, but huge. Their fries were fine, if a little soggy from the container they're in. I wanted to try the parm truffle fries, but it was a $5 upcharge which I think is crazy high. My mom got the grilled chicken sandwich with the hot honey carrots. The sandwich with the jalapeno ranch was good but the carrots are a skip. They weren't cooked nearly long enough because they were still very crunchy and there wasn't much flavor. Everyone else got burgers with the brussels (also a $5 upcharge) which they really enjoyed. I don't know if I would choose to come here again on my own but I wouldn't object if someone wanted to go.
