Let me start this review by saying I ABSOLUTELY love this place, I go here all the time. I use it over gamestop. They have a pretty nice staff team, which is always nice. They have a great selection of new/used retro and modern consoles. And even bin of "As-is" consoles and gadgets which is why I keep coming back so much! But I felt incredibly inclined to make this review for 1 particular reason because it's something that needs to be acknowledged and I hope someone in the company sees this so they're aware and can help correct this issue. The quality control absolutely sucks here, I've purchased 2 items now this week where they were defective/didn't work. Now I understand buying pre owned you are more at risk for defects or damage. HOWEVER, I shouldn't be paying $40+ for a used PS4 controller with dirt and Cheeto marks on the outer shell. Takes 2 seconds to wipe that off for a paying customer. Secondly, I get home after purchasing this controller. Plug it in and it's drifting like crazy, just scrolls and scrolls and scrolls. It's like the staff team just accepted it from the previous owner and threw it on a shelf for the next lucky person to deal with it. A few days prior I bought a PS1 game from this store, excitedly got home to turn on my console and fire the game up to find out the game was damaged beyond repair. It would boot to the loading screen and that's it. Now, I know I should've checked this prior to leaving so I'll take that loss. BUT, they should be aware of what they are selling to the paying patrons of the store. I should not have to double check/do their work for them. I should be rest assured I'm getting quality used items/games from this store. If you own this company or you work for this company, please do us all a favor and pay more attention to the quality control of your items. If this happens to me again I'll be forced to stop supporting your business. These are incredibly easy things to fix. I shouldn't be going out of my way to consistently bring back defective items. It takes a few minutes to assure these items are working when put out on a shelve for a premium cost such as the $49 used PS4 controller. If this gets acknowledged I will adjust the current rating. Honestly I don't know too much about gaming consoles and games, but I love playing guitar hero! I came here to get a couple games for my PS2 and they have a huge selection. The staff there was very friendly and I ended up having to return a game because it didn't work and they gave me the same discount on the second game that I'd gotten on the first one. Overall great experience both times, and it was around the holidays so they were busy and still made me feel welcome and appreciated! read more

This isn't fair to your customer base as you are price gouging for games you can't verify are real. Etsy sells game boxes and all you have to do is reprint a sheet to go inside the box. I was in a large need of new video games and I happened to come across Game Over VIdeogames. Amazing, Great and friendly staff, Especilly the manager. Great selection of games for the SEGA Dreamcast to the PS4 and X-Box 1,and all are at an unbeliveable price, I bought Madden NFL 2015 For X-Box 360 and, Wii Play, Total price was 15.89$ (Average price for both is 29.75$!)and at checkout I noticed a card that read "We pay CA$H for old video games" and I happened to have some old X-Box games at home which I will trade in for store credit the next time I go, and on top of that the atmospere was great, they also have a Bellevue chapter which I will 100% be going too. I'm an avid retro game collector and spend more money than my wife is happy about on said collectibles and games. About a month ago, I bought 3 cheap gameboy micro faceplates that retail for 10 bucks. The first one fit perfectly, and I liked it, so I kept the other two off to the side. I live about 40 miles away from this store, BTW. I finally open the remaining to find they are obviously defective. One has a huge scratch, and the other is so bubbled you couldn't see the game you were playing. Ironically, the one with a scratch was more usable. I figure this is a customer service layup. Yes, I'm outside of the exchange range. However, I'm a repeat customer, I had a receipt, and it was less than 30 days. These are not expensive, and they are obviously defective. Any cashier with any sense is gonna say, "No problem, let me take care of that for you." Well, as you can tell from the 1 star, that isn't what happened. They were gonna, again ironically, exchange the one with the scratch, but not the one with the bubbled surface? I explained that the right thing to do would be to exchange it. The cashier griped about it. I told him it would be shame to lose a customer who spends money at your store over an obvious defective item that's only 10 bucks retail. He replied that he didn't wanna lose his job. I told him that if he loses his job over this, he's got bigger problems. I then informed them they could keep their trash(as it was unusable) and left. I can firmly say I'll never spend another dollar there. For contrast, I dropped about 200 at Smash Bros. video games down the road the same day. The very definition of jumping over a dollar to pick up a penny.Would 5/5 recommend Smash bros video games at their tumwater and tacoma locations. It's game over for game over video games, tacoma. I went there about a week ago and it was interesting, to say the least. I was shopping around the store, the associates there are very helpful and they have a good selection of games. The only downside is the manager's attitude I was hearing another person ask about hiring and what it was like to work there and the manager went on about disliking the job, about the ceo and the other higher ups. I've never seen someone openly talk shit about their bosses like that!! read more

Nice selection. Appreciate the handmade merch and art. The staff is underwhelming. Came in 9/4/19 a bit before 5. Cashier offered no greeting or acknowledgement unless talked to first. Seemed more attentive if there were more people in the store but probably because he was doing loss prevention. I came in with the intentions of buying a lot of retro gaming consoles and games. I walked in and the staff was watching anime. They didn't even acknowledge that I walked into the store. I browsed around and even stood right in front of them but they were to busy watching anime and looking at there phones. I was the only customer in the store. So I said excuse me? They kinda glanced at me and continued to watch anime and blew me off. So I said excuse me but your customer service is terrible. Then a employee finally said well I'll keep that in mind. I said what? I came in here with the intentions of purchasing a lot of retro gaming consoles and games. He came off cocky and arrogant, rolling his eyes and having a rude smurk on his face. I've been in here a number of times, looking for some fairly rare NES and SNES games as well as Sega Genesis, PS1 and PS2 games. Surprised by some reviews of an unattentive staff, because I've always been greeted from the second I walk in the door or whenever the person working is finished helping someone. When looking for 80's or 90's games, you kinda have to hit the place at the right time, shortly after theyv'e taken in some trades, which means you need to check back often. As far as prices, it's in a mall. Enough said. Find a mall that doesn't charge tenants a mountain of money. However, when I look at what this place charges for used games + sales tax, versus trying to find the same game on eBay, and paying whatever terrorist ransom price the person wants for the shipping of the game, I'm better off getting the game, in hand, out the door, at this place. Plus, if there's any question about condition, I can look at it right then and there.. particularly with disc games such as PS1 or PS2. read more

Extremely friendly customer service, great selection, and repaired my game in an hour when the person working there said it would take up to a day. Only complaint is there's only one person working there. Would highly recommend. read more
