Black bean burger and fries
Neena V.

Gameday Grill was at my work earlier this week for a special event and I was so excited to try them out again! They catered the same event last year so I was happy to see that they were back this year. They offered black bean burgers, grilled chicken burgers, and regular cheeseburgers. Every order also came with a side of fries. They also offered 4 different ways you can order your burger. I got the black bean burger base with the classic style (tomato, onion, lettuce, pickles) and subbed cheddar cheese for the american. My burger was flavorful, delicious, and very filling. I was a little sad though about my fries because they were way too salty for my liking. The service was good and the staff were pretty nice. They were getting the orders out fairly quickly which was great because it was too cold to be standing outside. I will definitely try their food truck again if I see them around the area!

Grilled Chicken with Mushrooms and Swiss

Gameday Grill served up burgers and fries at my work tonight for an event and I was very excited to check them out! They offered black bean burgers, grilled chicken and regular cheeseburgers plus fries. We ordered a regular plain Hamburger for my daughter and I ordered the Grilled Chicken with mushrooms and Swiss cheese. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the grilled chicken was actually 2 massive chicken thighs - I was expecting to see just a boring grilled chicken patty. The chicken thighs weren't dry and were seasoned well. Fries were good too! Service was a bit slower than I was anticipating especially because it was a bit cold out. Staff were mostly just straight to the point and not really all that friendly, but they were busy so it wasn't a big deal. Can't really comment on the ambience since it was a food truck, but I'd probably check them out again if I see them around town!

I've seen Gameday Food Truck pop up at a few local sports events, markets and nearby my work. I always get excited when their truck because they have a killer Black Bean Burger. It is a vegetarian option that is consistently great (crispy on the outside, flavorful, and just really satisfying every time). It's clear they know how to make a solid vegetarian option that doesn't feel like an afterthought. The fries are decent, nothing to rave about, but they get the job done. Overall, it's a reliable go-to when I see them parked nearby. Definitely worth grabbing if you spot them.

I tried the Western Burger and it was delicious. Fries were yummy too. I did wish the meat had a little more flavor but the onion ring was so crispy and perfect.

We had an employee appreciation day at work today and we brought back Gameday Grill! This food truck burger joint on wheels is pretty darn good. I hade the Western Cheeseburger and Mushroom Swiss burger and they hit it out the park imo. The staff was also friendly with the rush of people too.

What's left of my loaded fries without peppers or onions. Soooo good!

Totally forgot to take a picture they looked so good! My work hosted this food truck and we've had other vendors, specific to fries, who didn't have fries this good! I got the loaded chicken fries, I'm always iffy about cheese sauce, but this is fire! even better, I was stuck on the phone after ordering ahead and they WAITED to put the cheese and sour cream on for me! I was worried about them being soggy, but not today! I sure appreciated the consideration since I was like 15 minutes later than the order pick up time. The ability to order online made it efficient and quick. What a great experience. Thank you, Gameday!

We stopped by Gameday Grill at a food truck event and picked up a bacon ranch chicken sandwich with fries. The staff was friendly and they gave us a buzzer to wait for it to be ready. It didn't take too long and everything came out hot and tasty! They also already had the sandwich cut in half which made it easier to eat and the portion size was really generous. We ended up having leftovers for later. I would definitely try more items from them next time we see them at an event.

Loaded Tri-Tip Fries $18 (worth it!)

Gameday Grill was one of the yummy food trucks at this past Thursday's Natomas Street Eats @ Orchard Park. Be prepared for a slight wait but the food is absolutely worth it. If there is one thing you MUST order is the Tri Tip Loaded Fries!!! These fries are huge and they are truly loaded with juicy, chunky pieces of perfectly cooked tri-tip. The fries were crunchy in all the right places and @$18 while the fries are on the pricey side - they are delicious and worth it!

I was also able to grab some ketchup to enjoy those fries. My burger and fries was delivered and there were more fries than expected. I focused on those first because who like cold fries, right??? The fries were actually pretty good, an above average standard French fry with salt. The burger however was phenomenal. There was an amazing crust on the outside reminiscent of a backyard bbq. There was ample bacon, lettuce, cheese and sauce to make it a balanced bite. The bun was high end brioche style, they really went all out on quality of ingredients. A standard burger build but done perfectly! Beer was cold, food was great and the ambiance is a perfect local bar. Great spot to go if you don't mind hunting for a parking space.

There were couples playing pool and a group of people playing a gambling card game. Me and my husband both got their cheeseburger meal and his was a beer combo. The meal was really pricey and consisted of mostly fries and a mini burger. In order to get enough satisfaction I would need probably three of these burgers as they were the size of sliders. I would be better off going to McDonald's for the price. But if you like fries more than burgers then go for it . The fries were also really salty. The burger had great flavor but it needed to be bigger. I see this as a place where drunk people go.

I have to give this a 5 star with some caveats (those are later)…read more First, if clean is your thing then this is your place. Exceptional in terms of cleanliness. Second if you have kids, then again, this is your place. I was there on a Saturday about 2 pm and there were multiple families and the kids seemed to really enjoy the vibe. As for the food and service. Service was great - people are friendly and attentive. I had the Bacon BBQ burger - good - not great, but worth the $15 or so. If i had one critique it would be that the sauce was too heavy and just detracted from the experience. As noted, the Burger had too much sauce which made the burger very messy. The burger leaked all over my hands and I used the two paper napkins in about 3 seconds flat. I went to the counter to get more napkins but there were no dispensers. So then i went to the restrooms to grab a paper towel but both restrooms were occupied. Then I pointed out to the staff that they should have napkin dispensers for their guests - the staff could see i was getting aggro so she offered the hand sink in the kitchen! Nice! Great service. A+ A few detractions - this is clearly a restaurant that leans on SYSCO - a major food purveyor for the restaurant industry. Many reviewers like the fries and shakes - I'm 90% sure these are frozen fries from SYSCO (you'll find the same fries all over the place), and the meat in the burger is probably sourced from SYSCO as well. Don't get me wrong, still tastes fine - just not distinctive. How do I know? A giant SYSCO truck was in the parking lot making their delivery when I was there. As for the atmosphere - it feels like a "Jonny Rockets" style retro burger joint but lacking the 50s style charm. It's white and red and very sterile feeling. It has some 50s decor but it's all pho/plastic and not authentic. It's not the type of place where you'd want to spend any time. It feels very well suited for a shopping mall where people can pop in, eat a solid burger and shake, then get out. The owners clearly spent a lot of time and money converting the space from the dive bar it was to what it is now, but I don't think it's a good use of the space. It's huge - it's got a large patio and tons of parking. It's the kind of place that should have been designed for guests hang out for an hour or two and spend some money, but instead they designed a small menu, counter service restaurant with a sterile atmosphere, the quick service trifecta. I hope they make it, but a space that large must have a pretty hefty rent. They'll need to fill some seats and get some wallet share to survive.
