I've been hitting up this place again. I'm still set on pastrami burgers. This is currently my favorite burger. It's not the greatest in the world or anything, but for what you get (pastrami w/egg) @ $8.35 out the window, it's pretty outstandingly GREAT. You're not likely to get E. coli here because the burgers are well done, not moist, pink or fatty. In fact not really tough, but a well done-chewy kinda texture. I don't mind, they're not charging $10-18 either. I'm not saying the burger patty is bad or great, it's middle of the road goodness. I love this burger. Without the egg the veggies would cool this burgie down fast, w/the fried egg in there I can drive 8 minutes and the whole burger is still hot to some degree. Plus it's just better, more complete and filling and sooo tasty. That's another thing, they VERY consistently flavor well with condiments and salt, never too much or too little. At other joints there's always who knows you is making it today; too much variation & too many mistakes. Lastly, their buns are unique, not brioche, but something different. OK, this is an OG burger of the highest order! Their standard burger is the fat boy which is a cheeseburger with bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, and ketchup. I substitute mustard cause I don't like it and get thousand island and I always ask for the raw onions. This burger is old school spectacular. They have a lot of other things on the menu, but I just can't see to get through the menu with the exception of the western burger when I don't feel like eating a whole half pounder prices are good. It's a Mom paw operation. They're only worked in Monday through Friday 11 to 4pm then they closed for the weekend. It's Franklin Boulevard across from El Navito. It's not the best neighborhood but it's not too bad during the daylight hours when they are open. There are some picnic tables outside to sit down. There is no inside for customers. I've been eager to try Scott's Burgers for a while, but every time I passed by, they were closed. Their hours of operation aren't the most convenient--they close by 4 PM (though Google lists 5 PM), which is before most people get off work, and they're also closed on weekends. This made it difficult to find a time to visit. The place itself is small and strictly for ordering, with an old-school, slightly worn look that some might see as outdated, but I found it charming and unique. I ordered the sourdough burger, while my friend got the jalapeño burger. We also tried the jalapeño poppers, onion rings, and fries. The burgers were fantastic--juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. The jalapeño poppers and onion rings were also great. However, the fries were underwhelming--not crispy enough and lacking seasoning. Overall, I'm giving them four stars because of their limited hours and mediocre fries, but otherwise, it's a fantastic burger spot that I highly recommend. read more

If you blink while driving down Franklin you might miss it, as the shack is not very big. Yet nevertheless Scott can make a good burger. The Fatboy has a large, 1/2 lb patty, with bacon, cheese, a hefty bun, and otherwise standard burger toppings. The meat was seasoned well and everything seemed to go together. I got a side of onion rings and chicken nuggets for my son. Neither of which were noteworthy but neither were bad. There's no ambiance but there large picnic tables are in the shade at least. I took a star away because I tried to call several times to order but they did not answer the phone. I saw other reviews have mentioned this as well. Also, be careful when pulling into the parking lot. While eating I saw someone take the turn too sharply and blow out a tire on a metal grate on the curb. Arrived at 11:30am shortly after opening. We ordered 2 Pastrami Rueben's and one pastrami burger with fries, tater tots, and onion rings. (Originally ordered chili cheese fries but they were out of chili). When we arrived they had just called number 41, and we were 43 so I thought it wouldn't take too long. It took 40 minutes before we finally got our food, and they had forgotten to give us our fries. Luckily I checked the bags before leaving otherwise we would've gotten ripped off. Great burger fries and other items. Great price!! Schedule is always crazy... never know when they will be open or not. And rarely do they answer your phone. So every time i go it's a chance that it will be open... I'm currently sitting outside right now at 11:04am Online is says they open at 11am. The patty could have been plain and I would never know it because the combination of the bacon, grilled onions, pickles, etc. . .set it off . . .and I don't know what type of bun they used but it was nice and soft with the perfect amount of firmness so it didn't fall apart while I was eating it. The onion rings were pretty amazing too. The batter they used made the onion ring coating smooth, which I never had before. .but the batter was fried a perfect golden brown. Honestly a staple place in all of Sacramento. A long while ago I was going to here and Awful Wally's trying to decide which place had the better pastrami burger. Now with Awful Wally's gone, the decision is really not that hard anymore. Everywhere else that I have gone to try and compare pastrami burgers don't match up to here. So good! Probably one of the better places for a Philly Cheese Steak that won't break your bank. It's huge and super tasty for only $6! We ordered the Philly Cheese, a Double Cheeseburger, tater tots, and their Chilly Cheese Fries. All were fresh and so satisfying. The chili cheese fries were a favorite amongst everyone. I love burgers. Eaten burgers all over but surprisingly had never heard of this place. What???? Me and my significantly better half rolled up hangry and was shocked when we saw it was cash only. It's 2021. I don't do cash. We scraped together what cash we could find in the truck and ordered a Patty Melt combo, Fatboy combo and Mac n cheese bites. First off, the Mac n cheese bites were hot n tasty. The 1/2 lb Fatboy burger was hittin'. As you can see in the photo it's big. I have big catchers mitt hands so it's a big burger. Lettuce, onion, tomato and bacon sit atop this bad boy. You have to unhinge your jaw like a snake to bite this but if you can do it you'll be rewarded with a thick, meaty, juicy (it dripped all over me) burger on a sturdy, thick bun that stands up to the meat and toppings. That's essential. If you're gonna serve a big AZZ burger the bun can't be falling apart. This held. It was enjoyable, hit all the spots. This burger is a top 10 burger in Sac. The French fries are crinkle cut (personal fave) and cooked to a light golden color. Well salted. The fries rock and support the burger. As for the Patty Melt... The meat, cheese and grilled onions were all what a party melt should be. But the bread sadly disintegrated. That's a Patty Melt fail. The cheese is supposed to melt boy the bread. Their subway pastrami sandwich is very good, last time I ordered it with swiss cheese, extra meat, and no mustard or pickles, it came out to $10 even, they only take cash. Their burgers are pretty good also, The time I ate here before, I ordered the double bacon cheeseburger and the standard subway sandwich with pastrami and cheese, my bill came to 12.50. It appears their location may close earlier than listed as once I got my meal at 5pm, they were closed right after. I got a ticket with my meal number on it and waited about 10-15mins for my order. I had a super Fatboy Combo with fries and a X Large Fanta Orange and a Vanilla shake. The quality of the burger was good however it was a bit on the greasy side.
