I like this shop because it's very convenient when you're shopping here and they are always nice and helpful. If you don't find what you're looking my for, they are happy to order for you to be delivered or pick up. Moderate prices and sometimes they have a good selection of clearance items on sale. The preowned is in petty good shape if you are looking to save some money. - They sell random retail nicknacks for those toy enthusiasts. I never considered myself a gamer until the pandemic. I played games virtually with friends, strangers, myself. I bought all the gadgets... The Switch, Meta Oculus Quest, and was fine not being outside (or physically social). Overall, I like coming in and buying myself a video game when my introvert side hits hard. What I noticed lately, they no longer give out plastic bags. I get it the new California rule but it would be nice to have tiny paper bags or something. I came in to browse the store in my free time, didn't expect to purchase anything to my surprise they had a "12 day sale" for the holiday or something like that. I ended up purchasing an item, off the top I got assisted by a guy name Jeremy, now Jeremy is those old head guys working at a store that have no sense of drive or customer service... didn't care for the customer (me) brushed me off like if I was a kid who's window shopping or some broke guy who's there standing in line to waste time. After asking about the sale and seeing if I can look at the item before purchase he looks me up and down as if I'm some homeless guy who's going to run away with the item or something! Proceeds to tell me "no! But I can hold it for you and you can see" like wtf I been shopping at GameStop for the past 22 years and I have never seen anything like this lol. The best GameStop so far within a 5 miles radius, you would assume the one at the mall didn't carry a lot of stocks but they fully loaded with games, action figures and everything else. Also their customer service was the best, the guys were joking around and even gave me some discounts on the house for my payment. I needed new remotes and new headsets for me and my son. Shaun the store manager here is amazing! He took the time to get to know me and provided me with much better equipment that I previously had. Both me and my son each got a new setup. We couldn't be more happy! The mics work great and the headphones sound phenomenal! This is probably the smallest GameStop I've been to, but they manage to cram a lot of product into the space. I'm not a gamer, but I love one, so I find myself in various GameStops often. Usually I wander around and look at the toys, because the games hold no interest for me. I invariably end up chuckling at the conversations going on about systems and what's its. When there are new releases, my lil dude froths at the mouth like a rabid dog and must go to GameStop for the newest whatchamacallit. It's a sickness that is never fully acknowledged in our household. In order to keep the peace I just put my head down, mumble intelligibly, and follow him to the car. People say women love to shop, but have you ever seen a male shop at a video game store?? Sheesh. It takes forever! Gamestop is an awesome place to save some cash if you enjoy gaming. This location is in the Mission Valley mall and has more foot traffic than other locations I've been too. The selection is always pretty good, new and used. Customer service is hit and miss though I find the staff is usually professional and welcoming. Sadly, it's a very small store and the wait to checkout is very slow at times. Overall, I find this Gamestop very convenient and well maintained. The 7 day refund policy for used games is unmatched by other companies. However, the slow service and small size of this location takes away from its potential but it'll always be a great place to get games so definitely head over there if you're looking for something to play on your game console. read more

Shame on all of you who thinks this store/staff is terrible. Its the company policy thats terrible. Lets get a few things right: Your staff at this store is going to changing on a quarterly basis for the most part, specially your store managers and your asistant store managers. Gamestop (the company) is always switching out key holders to different locations because theyre worried about numbers, and whenever a store of lacking in reservation numbers they switch out key holders. The reason why you get plauged with "would you like to reserve?" questions is because the COMPANY tell the employees to plauge you with the questions- if you have an issue with that, take it up with corporate, not the staff. Theyre just doing their jobs. Secondly: Shane is no longer at this store. He left, which makes me sad. But their new manager (his name escapes me) is quite nice and similar to Shane in some aspects. And the staff are just as fun and amazing. If you feel like youre having issues with the employee that his helping you I HIGHLY suggest you ask for Edward aka Eddie. Eddie is the ASM and he prolly works as many hours as the actual store manager does. Eddie will literally bend over backwards for to help a customer- Ive seen it. He's one of the most knowledgable employees Ive ever come acorss and he plays and array of games...quite literally all of them. Hes the kind of guy that loves what he does, as cliche as it may sound. And if worse comes to worse and an employee isnt helping you (which I find hard to believe because this staff is amazing, youre prolly just being an ass of a customer) you can always ask directly for the SM or the ASM which are usually on the clock. Quit taking your agression out on the poor game advisor or senior game advisor because they dont know nearly as much the managers do. ...PS- if you ever have the pleasure of coming across Troy, the district manager, I think hes an ass...but he isnt bad at his job, he'll also bend over backwards to please a customer. Unbelievable that I can wait in a 20 minute line, with 1 cashier and 1 manager when only two people are in front of me. Not once got addressed about the wait. Not once did they address the miniature line anarchy that began. Manager was "handling" a problem with another customer that could of easily been done on the side to help other customers rather than having a 20 minute wait for 2 pops. To make matters worse the cashier then proceeded to make inappropriate comments toward my girlfriend about liking her hair and "noticing her when we came in" both comments made her extremely uncomfortable. My item was held at the front register and Nate helped me find a joystick cover for my boyfriend's worn out dual shock controller. He recommended a set that he personally uses. The guy behind the counter, Sean, is obnoxious. My husband came in And decided to buy a used copy of an older Mortal Kombat game. Sean finally stops talking to the person in front of us and it is our time to check out. He looks at my husband like he is crazy and asks why my husband is buying this old game when the new version just came out. My husband politely says he should play through it before he gets the next one. Instead of checking us out Sean decides to try to embarrass my husband into wanting to buy the new game, saying the older game basically sucks, there's no story to it, it's not an exciting game, and if he wants to play Mortal Kombat the new one is really the only way to go. He even goes so far as to making a stand there and wait while unlocks A drawer and gets out a copy of the new one for my husband to buy. My husband has not given any indication that he has changed his mind and wants to buy this new game. My husband again has to say no, I don't want to buy that copy, this is what I'm trying to buy. Sean again tells him that he's making a mistake and that the game has no storyline and it isn't very fun. It's a good thing my husband has more patience than I do because I would have told Sean that at this point I didn't want to buy either of the games. This guy doesn't understand the difference between up selling and turning off customers completely.
