Took a bunch of old games here to sell and got a pretty decent amount for it! The lady running the store at the time was very friendly and quickly checked all my games while I browses the store. Most of the games I brought in were older, less popular titles, so I was pleasantly surprised that they still valued at that much on resale. Great place. Had a controller that wasn't working for my Xbox 360. Game stop recommended Luna because they had older parts. She looked at the battery compartment of the old one and told me that the batteries may have leaked , She sold me a new battery compartment for $5 and it solved the whole problem. Buddy and I went there with a box of Pokémon cards, some old video games, and other retro stuff to see if they would assist us in getting an idea of what it was worth. They ripped us off and paid us about 150$ for what we found out to be worth thousands - if not tens of thousands of dollars. Beware of the scammers here. Go at your own risk. We have been here a couple times before to buy games but last weekend my son wanted to trade in some of his games towards a new one. He had 3 switch games (2 from last year and an older one) and 3 older PS4 games. The guy said give him a minute while he looks everything up and he would give us a total for trade in. In the meantime my son picked out a switch game that cost $45 and I told him don't worry I would pay the difference after the trade in because we were expecting around $35-$40 value. We were so surprised when he told us it came out to $94 . I told my son to pick out another game and I even got ghost recon wild lands for Xbox one for $5. So it was all an even trade. My go to spot to sell video games. Much better experience than I've had with GameStop and Amazon. They give you a very fair price in my opinion. If you opt for store credit you get more $. When using store credit, you don't pay taxes if the cost is absorbed by the store credit, so a little more savings there. Not all visits have been good, it depends on staff. Parking is mostly street only, the back lot is very odd and seems to be owned by another company. They have all kinds of games/consoles. Very few PS5 and switch games though. I would definitely check the price on eBay/Amazon before buying. Many times the prices are very close to just buying it brand new. Follow them on Instagram for their specials, they recently had a buy 2 get 1 deal for all games. read more

Been coming here every so often for the last 8 years. Small video game store with mostly used games and consoles from pretty much all eras dating from Atari to present day console generation. What new stuff they have would be 3rd party accessories for old consoles and limited run video game titles. As a used game store, it's unknown what will be on their shelves. I have taken some of my old stuff in before (pretty sure the copy of Xenosaga 3 on their back shelf is the same one I brought in a while back). I have had a share of my stuff rejected before, but they did take a lot of my old games when my Wii U bricked. While selling privately online might get more money, it's much less hassle to exchange for cash or store credit at Luna. If taking store credit, you'll get more funds compared to taking cash. In my experience, there have been maybe 1 or 2 less pleasant visits over the years, but majority have been good. The other day, I asked about whether a game only was available on the Game Boy and never ported to another console. The gentleman checked and confirmed. Location wise, they are on El Cajon Blvd near the intersection at 70th Street. 15 minute street parking up front doesn't feel quite enough to search around the store. There are a few parking spots behind the building, but driving to the back is sort of awkward and so is walking through the Midas(?) car lot to get to the front. read more

My family has loved Luna for lo these many years-decades, really-and the people who work there are always very nice. Today an especially wonderful young lady, Layne, was very kind, helpful, and patient with an old lady, namely me, and my developmentally disabled son. I was unable to accompany my son on his Luna Christmas shopping excursion today, and it was going to prove to be tricky because he was buying something for himself and I was buying presents for my other disabled boy as well. We needed to divvy up the receipts and I must have called Layne three or more times to explain how to do it. She executed the whole undertaking perfectly, with not a hint of impatience, but only kindness and understanding. Absolute garbage staff work here, incredibly dishonest about "console repairs". They claim to have repaired my console by putting rubbing alcohol on a que tip an barely cleaning the pin connector. They didn't even do a simple dusting or anything, an afterwards after taking it apart myself it was still DIRTY!!! I basically burned $40.... Don't ever come here for repairs for your console you will basically be scamming yourself of money. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Today my friend and I went in so he could try and sell several of his consoles. When we went in the lady behind the counter (Layne) was servicing a couple with two children. She didn't greet us or say anything to us at all while we waited, which ultimately was not the problem. While she serviced the couple ahead of us she displayed fantastic customer service. Speaking friendly, thoroughly, and even gave them free game boy games with their purchase. When the couple left and it was our turn my friend approached the lady telling her that he was the one that called and spoke to her about selling his x box. Already she was giving us weird looks, and her demeanor had COMPLETELY changed from when she was serving the couple ahead of us. I could tell right away she was being rude to my friend and pretending like she didn't even know what he was talking about. When he had clearly placed his console on the counter to sell, she acted angry and frustrated. Pretending like she didn't even know why my friend was there and what he wanted to do. Which he clearly had stated he wanted to sell several consoles. She pretended to just not know what to do, she was very short, very rude, giving myself and my friend weird and rude looks. He ended up selling her his Xbox, and rejected other items he wanted to sell. But with the absolute least amount of professionalism or friendliness on her part. Meanwhile tending to the customer that came in behind us and being friendly with them. That irked the hell out of me. She ended up telling my friend he should just take his business elsewhere and sell to someone else. Which is weird... if you already told us a price you would be willing to buy the Xbox that clearly worked and was in decent condition. She just gave us the impression she wanted absolutely nothing to do with us and didn't want to serve us or anything. She was short, annoyed, clearly frustrated, and played dumb. A complete 360 from how she behaved with the couple ahead of us that she chatted away with, smiled at, chit chat with, and gave free games to them. This was my first and LAST experience with Luna games. Literally the most ugly and disrespectful customer service I've ever received. read more

I walked into this store and felt a rush of my most cherished childhood memories go through me. Video games, especially JRPG's, is a big part of my life and to see the classic PSX pieces like Valkyrie Profile and Final Fantasy I-IX encased in this store brought a sense of relief that my childhood is alive here. Legend of Dragoon and Chrono Cross/Trigger was also presented. Even GC favorites like PSO Online, Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door; underrated PS2 favorites like Radiata Stories-- I mean they had all of it. This place is great. The woman working here is extremely rude. Every time I've been here, the woman (glasses, bad skin, hair usually in a ponytail, in her 30's) does not acknowledge customers. She does not greet you, she gives short answers for everything and the experience is very uncomfortable. She sits at the computer the whole time, won't even look at you unless she absolutely needs to, and blasts music. Also, the selection of games is poor and the prices aren't even reasonable. This is a mom and pop shop, so I feel bad writing the review, but people should know that they won't be treated like a wanted customer.
