Singles I pulled and purchased here!
    Andrew H.

Went here for the first time today and had a great time. They had a large selection of individual Pokemon packs in English and Japanese as well as a large selection of singles on display and in a binder. They also have sealed Pokemon UPCs and Booster Boxes at competitive prices. I ended up buying a UPC and some singles and pulled some new Illustration Rares. Alex, was very helpful and fun to talk to about the hobby and helped me search though the inventory to find cards I need to finish my set. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite things about Calico is the staff. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, and informal in the best way. It doesn't have that corporate retail feeling where you're just another customer. You can actually talk games with the employees, ask for recommendations, or just browse and enjoy the store. I've been to their different locations as well, and I have genuinely never met a bad staff member at any of them. The Mira Mesa location itself has a great layout. It's packed with games and other gaming-related stuff, but it still feels organized and fun to browse. I could easily spend a ridiculous amount of time walking around looking through everything because there's always something that catches my eye. I also think their trade-in values are very fair. I've traded in plenty of games over the years, and I've consistently felt like I was getting a reasonable amount of credit toward something else. Even better, the staff have recommended games to me that I probably wouldn't have picked up on my own, and I've ended up finding some really great additions to my collection because of their recommendations. At this point, Calico has become one of my go-to places whenever I'm looking for something for my collection. Whether I'm hunting for a specific game, browsing for something unexpected, trading in old stuff, or looking for a console, I know I'm going to have a good experience. If you're into retro games, collecting, or just video games in general, I highly recommend checking out Calico Games. Independent game stores like this are becoming harder to find, and Calico genuinely feels like a place run by people who actually enjoy gaming. Easily 5 stars from me.

Its maybe 5-10 cents an item i think i sold like 8 blue rays got 1$ back about, but ykno they sell things at good prices plus clearance! I think theres records, nintendo console, cassettes its a good oldies retro physical media store. When i sold stuff i met a short black hair girl, and she was direct. At least she was patient and repeated when needed. Got my ticket got my stuff looked at and met Brendon and he is so sweet and friendly guide to others waiting in line and he told me my total and asked about how i was ect just nice dude!

I always look forward to seeing the SHEET MUSIC SECTION... Every time I come here it seems like the SECTION gets MOVED AROUND. Maybe because I don't come here to often so they must have re arranged the place... I NOTICED that there seems to be more selections of MANGA DISPLAYS. They look pretty cool but, the PRICE mo really HIGH... SHEET MUSIC: There was a very SMALL selection of sheet music for piano. I was almost tempted to buy it but, the pricing was still on the HIGH SIDE meaning it's PRICED too closely to a NEW VERSION of the same book. I would definitely consider doing a price check before buying the USED VERSION... SERVICE: 8/10 They seem friendly but, I'm sure they preferred to be unbothered which was the perception I got based on the expressions and attitude... Hmm...Book Off reminds me of another 4 letter word... SEE YOU LATER B**K OFF!!!!!

NERDY NEEDS! (4 stars)…read more GameStop has always been such a cool store. Even cooler during the pandemic to purchase the needs to keep occupied and safe. And even cooler when trading options on meme stocks and making some cash flow! - New games, preowned games. And occasional deals such as buy 2 preowned get 1 free. - New and preowned equipment. The preowned is in petty good shape if you are looking to save some money. - They sell random retail nicknacks for those toy enthusiasts. I never considered myself a gamer until the pandemic. I played games virtually with friends, strangers, myself. I bought all the gadgets... The Switch, Meta Oculus Quest, and was fine not being outside (or physically social). Overall, I like coming in and buying myself a video game when my introvert side hits hard. What I noticed lately, they no longer give out plastic bags. I get it the new California rule but it would be nice to have tiny paper bags or something. I had asked them to tape the receipt to my game as I'll be walking into other stores that sell the same product. It's weird carrying an open item without a bag. But carrying my video game around the mall sparked random small chitchats with workers in other stores. Talking about a video game sure beats talking about the weather. Until the next review...

Hubs found another "happy place" in SD County!…read more Knowhere G&C is located in an industrial area of San Marcos, near an antique mall, several home furnishings stores and next to San Marcos Deli. This seems an ideal location, with plenty of free parking and, judging by the flow of pedestrian traffic in and out of this shop on a "Comic Book Wednesday" many customers agree. Hubs declared a large selection of comics, games and collectibles. He proudly emerged over an hour after parking with a smile on his cute nerdy face and a bag filled with reading materials in his hand. He was very surprised and happy that his purchase amount ~$80TL awarded him with a cool graphic novel. Happiness shortly turned to a bit of confusion when he took a moment to peruse his receipt and discovered he had been charged about 4x the amount he should have been for a comic. He checked online to make sure he didn't grab a ltd edition, or special release, and determined he hadn't. I waited while he returned inside. About 10 minutes he reemerged - HAPPY AGAIN! Seems the clerk, Daniel (guessing from the receipt ), didn't catch it and agreed it had been incorrectly priced. He further apologized saying he usually catches the comics over $20 and confirms the customer is aware when they are purchasing a more expensive issue. So Daniel was sorry he missed that completely. Hubs confirmed that he was still ok receiving the free graphic novel and was assured, yes, his purchase amount still qualified for the free novel. The over charge was returned to Hubs and he was happy with the store, Daniel and his customer service. Knowhere G&C has been bookmarked for our future SD road trips. Cheers! "CC"
