Then cut drywall to examine further. * Charged $98 total for dispatch plus half-hour diagnosis, but NO repair done as he explained to me that the leak could only be fixed when it is actually leaking/dripping water so that the fix could be tested. * Tech was punctual, polite, and clean. read more

Dangerous situation! On the evening of 3/6/23 we had to call 911 because our water heater caught fire and filled the garage with smoke. It was installed by Bryan and Juan of Ganz Plumbing Co., Inc. less than a year ago on 4/13/22. Luckily it was isolated to only the water heater. The next morning I called Ganz to ask if they could come out and check the water heater and have it fixed. Rose refused this request and would not schedule anyone to come out. She gave me the number to Rheem and said that I had to deal with them for any repairs. I spoke to her a second time and asked if they could please just look at it to see if it could be fixed and she connected me to Bryan who installed the unit on the telephone. I explained what happened and he stated that it could have been caused by the wrong gauge wire during installation. I again asked if they could please send someone out and they would not. I also informed Ganz that I had a licensed electrician coming to check the unit and also the circuit breaker for any damage. The licensed electrician stated that the cause of the fire was "localized faulty splices in water heater connection that had separated and melted causing arcing." These faulty splices were done by Ganz Plumbers as part of the installation of our water heater. They are responsible for the damage, the fire department having to come out, and our bill to fix the water heater. If this company has installed your water heater then you should have a licensed electrician come and look at the connections before you have a fire! They also did not install the on/off switch up to code and instead left the old plug connected to the unit. We trusted this company and they put our family in danger and now have not taken any responsibility. A clog caused both toilets to be unusable in my 90 year old mother's house. Everyone I called couldn't be there until after the weekend including Ganz Plumbing. But then Rosemary called back to tell me she had found a way to squeeze Mom's job in. And the receptioniist could not specifically say how much the prorated amount is! You have to do the math, and is it based on $196 divided by 4? Aka $98 divided by 2? So $49 for each 15 min, then why did she say with a laugh, "oh I guess about $24.00 a quarter". ? Huh? I called another plumber I've used for a past faucet repair for $95 which took an hour and guess what, now they will come out, give a FREE estimate and leave if you don't want them. This is a top notch family run company. I had a major garbage disposal leak today in my mother's condo requiring a plumber immediately as the sink and dishwasher could no longer be used without causing a flood. When I called Ganz, the receptionist was very pleasantly, took my information regarding my problem and location then gave me a time estimate. Shortly there after the plumber called and asked if I could email a picture of the plumbing to be assured the work could be done correctly and efficiently. Brian showed up within the time frame given and completed the work very quickly. The entire cost was $240. A far cry from another company which quoted $400 and also had good ratings on Yelp. The woman who answered the phone was curious and helpful, she told me that one of their trucks could come by before the end of the day, around 4pm. I had an outside water spicket leaking (the handle needed to be replaced) & I got 4 quotes. The cheapest quote was $299.00 but I knew nothing about the companies & I felt the prices were very high. First let me say, their service is great. I own a condo in Davie and live out of state and they were doing work there today. Secondly, as a general contractor formerly from Florida and now reside out of state, they charge $98/hour for a plumbing laborer. This is extortion, use someone else and save over 50% on labor. Example: The plumber they have working for them is making somewhere around $20-$25/hour. They have overhead and profit to add on to this, understandable. Their overhead, for a well run company, should run around 15-30%. Profit for a company should not exceed 20%, if they do, they are taking advantage of the homeowner. So with 30% overhead and 20% profit, comes out to $39/hour. This is acceptable and industry standard for a skilled laborer. Feel free to look this labor rate up on RS Means which is the construction standard for estimating. They offer great service, but at what cost? You can find much cheaper plumbers that can perform equal quality of work at half the price. $98/hour is what doctors and lawyers charge, not plumbers. Take in mind this does not include materials. Consider this as well. As a general contractor, I price plumbers all the time. The most expensive plumbing contractor in my city costs $60/hour for two guys. At the $98/hr rate for one year results in a total of $203,840 (40hrs/wk x 52 weeks). How much do you think the plumbing laborer makes per year? $50k maybe. So Ganz Plumbing gets the remaining $153,840 per plumber per year. Ganz is either making a killing off us or he can't mange his business. Since he's been in business for 34 years, I'm guessing its the former. read more

When I woke up to find water all over the floor in my bathroom (the toilet was leaking water), I knew I needed help, but dreaded calling a plumber. I was worried about the cost, of course, but also about finding a company that was honest and fair. It's my only bathroom, so I did my research online and decided on Ganz Plumbing. They had great reviews and I also liked the fact that they are family owned and operated and have been in business since 1976. In South Florida, that means something! My first impression of the company was through Rose in the office, who was very professional and had a great personality. She told me that they could have a man out to me the following day. Allan came out the next afternoon and was also friendly, professional and efficient. He located the problem quickly and was able to fix it on the spot. I asked questions and he answered them happily, with no attitude issues at all or anything of that nature. No talking down to me because I'm female. He was absolutely great, with a sense of humor to match! Once he solved my toilet problem, he asked if there was anything else with the plumbing that I was concerned about. I had a spray nozzle on the sink in my kitchen that had been leaking whenever I turned the faucet on. All he did was look at it, remove the nozzle and screw it back on and it's been working fine ever since. No leaking. So, apparently, Allan performs magic, as well. Even better---the cost was much less than I had anticipated. Ganz Plumbing is, indeed, the fair and honest company that I was looking for.
