It's a takeaway food stall that's located in the middle of the block but it does the best roujiamo I've had. The chicken is so juicy and cumin forward. The owner is nice and will ask if you want it spicy or not. This is very onion forward- so you may not like it if you don't like a bite to your onions but it gives it a good balance with the juicy meat and crunchy bread that is flaky and not greasy. It's also only 6 bucks. They also make jian bang 4 feet away with the same meat from the spit. That is also excellent as well! Gaoxiaopa it's a little stand that was quite empty aside from a few customers. The sandwich itself was really good. The food was great and it's $6 for each serving of chicken stirfry and pineapple in a toasted crunchy bun (rou jia mo) - it was crunchy even a few hours later when ordering takeout and hanging out in a small plastic bag all day. The meat is flavorful (though the spicy one didn't really taste spicy to me, just seasoned). I do have to say I was really annoyed because there were two old men who seemed to know the owner / worked with him or next door (one toothless guy and one other random guy) who kept coming up to me and my friend and wouldn't leave us alone while we were taking pictures there and eating. I kept seeing Gao Xiao Pa featured on my FYP so I decided to give them a try out. Even on a Monday afternoon, there was a line when I visited though it did move quickly. This stall specializes in roujiamo, a traditional Chinese street food from Shaanxi province. It's often likened to a Chinese hamburger, as the meat (rou) is sandwiched in between a baked bun (mo). At Gao Xiao Pa, the protein of choice is chicken that is stacked and grilled on a vertical spit, and you can customize your roujiamo with spice level and vegetable add-ons. The chicken is quite juicy, despite being thinly shaved but the real star of the show is the mo, which stayed crisp and flaky even after being steamed in the bag while I carried it around. For $6, this was an excellent roujiamo and was filling enough for a meal.
