Outlet stores are sometimes a hit or miss. This time was a hit! I found some good deals on capri pants. I bought a pair at H&M compared to a pair that was selling for $13. I ended up buying 2 pairs for $36 and returned the 1 pair back to H&M that cost me $30. The store was in good shape. No clothes on the floor. And they had amazing sales - 30-40% off. I guess they're really trying to attract buyers since the economy has gone to s%$t. read more

It's Black Friday it's horribly busy and everyone is just trying to purchase what they need. This young man shown was doing his job, but he was SO rude. His message was clear : "cannot cover this sign... "store will get shutdown... go wait over there.." he sends people to wait & says, it'll be 10-15min. Okay fine. Then as people are entering he doesn't even let's us line up he allows other groups of people casually walk into the line. Gap should have that situation more organized. I have been going to the Gap Outlet in Great Mall for years and I get a large majority of my jeans here. They always have the BEST PRICES FOR JEANS. As it is with other outlet stores, I always start here first to see if they have what I need, and the answer is usually yes. I like getting the slim straight jeans. I am not sure if it is a year round deal, but I always feel like the jeans are 40-60% off normal retail price. So the Gap Slim Straight jeans that go for $60+ in the normal retail stores are between $20-$30 at the outlet store!!! AMAZING deal!!! They have a pretty decent selection of different colors and styles as well. They have the slim jeans, regular fit, loose fit, and boot fit as well. I also like to go for cheap plain t-shirts. I just got a few for $3.95 each, and they are really decent quality. I wear these when I go out, especially during the summer. Can't go wrong with a $3.95 t-shirt!!! You should also check out the clearance item section at the back of the store for both men's and women's clothing. Some of those items can be 60-80% off, and be even cheaper. Also, I've had a number of instances where the price I see on the tag isn't even the final price. When I go to check out, the price is even lower!! WHAT?!?! Anyway, I go at least once every few weeks to see what they have on super sale. For all the years I have been going to Great Mall, I have never stepped foot inside this store before. I don't know why that is! Yesterday after my Aunt dropped my Daughter off to me, I was sweating like a pig from my workout from Insanity. I was breathing heavily and since it was only 7pm on a Friday, after I learned that my Aunt plans to stroll the mall, I decided to tag along w/ her. I had to freshen up a bit, change, take off my eyeliner, and left thinking that I just wanted to get out of the house - not necessarily to buy anything in particular at the mall though I do need a phone case and a few more cardigans wouldn't hurt either. We walked through Marshalls, H&M, even G by Guess but I didn't see anything that was worth browsing.. then we came across this store so my Aunt said she must go in because she gets her jeans from The Gap only. OK- I didn't care about their huge signs displaying, "50% Off Entire Store" assuming I never went in here for a reason.. at least I would think that.. First mannequin display caught my eye.. a blue/white/turquoise cardigan.. it was $29.95 and w/ the sale it would make the article of clothing $15 and it's considered decent quality so I was sold but then my Daughter (whom knows me very well) saw a purple/lavender cardigan (same style as the one I saw on display) and picked a size small for me to try but it was still a little loose so she found an extra small and what do you know.. BAM!!! It fits and it looks wonderful! My Aunt treated us both out.. my Aunt picked out several outfits for her and wanted to get my cardigan for me.. how very awesome and sweet of her! I have been visiting Gap Outlet Store located in Great Mall for almost 6 years now and they have never disappointed me. The staff is very helpful(never rude) both on floor and in change room and they don't limit items(like in Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch) you can try. Returns are equally easy if you show up with receipt/s. During my visit today, I forgot the redeem a coupon and I figured out after checkout was complete. Cashier named Karina Perez helped me fixing the problem in less than 5 minutes without raising any concern or uneasiness(You are awesome Karina). The only problem here is huge queues for checkout but hey, its a popular store, what can be done? Their kids collection is one of the best in South Bay at very reasonable prices. read more

Can't say that I hate a Gap Outlet. I like how this one is big. So many clothes to choose from! They have a large changing rooms. During the weekend it is on the chaotic side. Just too many people all over the place. It would be better to experience this place on a weekday. I bought a pair of jeans for get this, $24.99! Oh yeah! this is a good place to pick up some really great bargains if you have the time patience to "hunt." since i typically come on a weekend afternoon, most of the tables and racks are a bit disorganized, so i really have to flip thru everything looking for a particular size or style. i did quite well on my most recent trip, finding a pair of jeans that been on my wish list for quite some time. i'd looked for this style/colour at several other jeans stores and come up empty, so was quite happy that i found the jeans in the style, size, and color that i sought. they were only $19.99 (with add'l discount) to boot! while hubby was waiting for me to finish shopping and using the fitting room, he ended up finding a pair of deeply discounted cargo shorts for himself. score! the checkout line was REALLY REALLY long on this day, and i think i waited at least 20-30 min before it was my turn to check out. but i guess this is typical at the gap outlet at great mall on a weekend afternoon when everyone's out to shop! read more

I dragged the hubby in here today because I was finally going to be starting my new job next week and needed some "professional" clothing to wear. Normally, I shop at Express or Forever21 for my dress pants but often times I don't see a lot of selection for "short", even though I'm 5'4 1/2 and in between a short and normal, I still find normal too long, especially since I don't wear heels often. Anyway, I was going to originally go into a regular Gap but was worried after hearing from a lot of reviewers that they didn't carry the short in store. I happened to be at the Great Mall today, so we passed by and I decided, "what the heck?" and went inside. First off, this place definitely lacks in customer service but at least they carried petite/short sizes. I decided to try on some trousers in their body type fit. I basically would be the Aubrey as I have some curve. I first thought it was a bit weird that regular Gaps didn't carry this fit and the trousers on line I saw were a bit different, but oh well. I proceeded to go into the fitting room to try on the "short" ones and noticed that although they were a good length, they seemed just a "tad" shorter than I would like. This was after reading the reviews on the regular site that the sizes ran a bit long even for short. So I asked the lady in the fitting room to grab me some sizes in regular. It seemed strange that when I tried on the regular it still seemed like a good length and I wasn't even stepping on them. Normally, a regular inseam is 33 inch, this seemed more like 31/32. I really liked the fit and the quality seemed very good but what disappointed me was that the Navy color in the same style and design actually used a side zipper to close it, as apposed to the Black and Grey which had a front zippers, in addition to buttons. In any case, despite the bit of frustration I felt while shopping, I decided to go with two trousers, black and navy and saved 50% off on the total purchase, which was the special sale today. Normally, I would be spending about $80 on dress pants from Express, in which case I can only afford one or have to resort to the really cheap and ill fitting ones from Forever21 which would start to rip at the crotch area after a few times and were always much too long. Also, had I gone to the regular Gap I would still be spending at least $60 for one pair, so getting two for that price really made my day. I would say go here if you want to buy Gap and need the harder to find lengths or sizes for on sale but don't expect a lot from customer service and definitely, plan on some long lines during the weekends! read more

The following review only applies to the men's side of the store: As far as men's clothing goes, Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy basically sell variations of the same utilitarian duds. Fashionable shoppers tend to gravitate toward Banana Republic, while budget-conscious bargain hunters flock to Old Navy. So that leaves Gap stuck in no man's land. On the day that we stopped by this Gap, even with a storewide 30% discount, the men's side was practically deserted. While waiting for my wife, I strolled around the place for a good 10 minutes without a single greeting from the aloof workers shuffling about. I felt like I was in a zombie film. I'm not sure if it's the unappealing selection, the contemptible pricing, or the poor customer service that's keeping male shoppers away. Whatever the reason, unless there's a blowout sale, I'm not inclined to return to this Gap. read more

I have to say this is the best GAP outlet I have ever been too. Well the only ones I know of is this one and the Gilroy Outlets location (which that one sucks and has nothing). They have a great kids selection of clothes here! If you find something you like and they don't have your size, the sales associate can look it up in their computer and print you a whole list of what stores have it. And this is the only store that I know that YOU can call and order over the phone to have it shipped to your house. Every other store that I have been to, Charge Sends (phone orders) have to be placed by the sales associates. Flat fee of $5 shipping. TIP: If you are a AAA member, bring your card for 10% off! I think gap outlet has some great ideas and has improved the looks of their pieces greatly. The problem is none of their pieces have a real modern fit. Everything is still a bit baggy in some areas or some of the items are just too long. Right now they have a great looking denim button up and I tried on a size small and it ended up looking like a medium around the shoulders and it was pushing a size large in length. I'm a fit guy, athletic build, 6'0. I do realize that it's different for everyone but if you're looking for that modern slim and trim fit and you yourself are slim and trim you're better off looking somewhere else. AT LEAST for shirts. I know that gap is trying to incorporate size XS more but I rarely see them. People must grab them pretty quick. I think gap outlet has the potential to be really great because of their great prices. Upon arriving at her station she conversed with a co-worker in the next station. She never acknowledge me except at the end of the transaction when she asked me if I wanted a GAP credit card. Came here over the weekend for a F&F event. They had everything in the store at 50% off and with the add'l 40% off, my items were a steal. Nice clothe retail store in Great Mall. The store is pretty large. They frequently have sales on button up shirts. I've gotten 5 shirts button up shirts here for 50% off. They come out to around $23 to $27 each with tax. I really like 3 of them, 1 I kinda like, and 1 I don't really wear and need to return. What I like about GAP button up shirts is their slim fitting. It's the perfect fit for me at the abdomen area. Express is too tight, and AE is too loose. They also don't run too long, unlike Express. I'm relatively short so if you're taller and lanky then express may be a better fit. They also have flip flops here for $8, but frequently 50% off so $4 after sale. Their fitting rooms are actually kind of dirty and dusty. Also poor service when I wanted a fitting room. They ask you if you want to open a GAP card for 15% discount first purpose. It's actually a GAP CREDIT card, which I don't want to open because I don't want my credit score going down. Very deceptive.. read more

Several years ago, I was trying something on in the fitting room and accidentally left my (designer) wallet behind. When I went to pay for my items, I had that sweat-inducing panic of losing my wallet. I tore through the store, back to the fitting room, and found an associate, who radioed someone else, who found a manager, who gave me my wallet. I love going to outlet stores, notwithstanding the Gap Outlet at the Great Mall. This Gap store is huge, and I entered the store, with no clear agenda. Wanting to take it easy, I picked my clothes based on the mannequinn at the front of the store: a pair of shorts white jeans, and sky blue scarf. It took a long time, for me to figure out, what to get. Given I had a budget. The budget being that I can only buy clothes that are on-sale. I tried all sorts of things; trendier items more than others. I tried a t-shirt with a picture of a sea anchor that cost $5; a white, tunic, with a boxy neckline from the sale section, and a couple of other items that were on-sale. My decision at the end, was to get the pair of shorts, and sky blue scarf, as advertized by the store. I found it entertaining; never shopped for things, based on a mannequin before. Will be back for more, the next time. read more

Finished my purchase anyway and moved on. Went next door to Sports Authority and realized my two coupons were expired. I had the WORST shopping experience here ever! I came here on a weekday so it wasn't crowded with shoppers so it was pretty empty. I saw a tank top on sale and I wanted to buy it. As I got into the line and waited for a pretty long time to pay..UGH! the thing that pissed me off was the cashier slowed down the line because they were busy conversing with other cashiers next to them when they are suppose to be HELPING the customer! I waited for a good 5 mins until i hear a 'NEXT!" So the cashier rang me up. There was no "did you find everything okay?" but she just kept chatting away with the cashier next to her. fine. whatever. the only time she ever talked to me was 'total is $6.50." I handed her my credit card. THEN she has the guts to ask me to sign up for their credit card. I kept rejecting her saying 'no thanks.' and she was really going at me saying "are you sure? you get discounts every time you shop at the Gap, Old Navy and Banana" and I kept saying 'No, I barley shop there." but OMG! she kept insisting. she was like "oh there's no obligations you can just enter your SSN to see if you qualify or not. nothing will happen." BULL CRAP! I was like 'fine." enter my ssn into that credit card machine and the next thing i know she hands me my receipt and said "have a nice day!" i was like WTH JUST HAPPENED?!?! DID YOU JUST EFFING SIGN ME UP FOR ONE OF YOUR CREDIT CARDS?!?!' and she was like 'yeah you just signed up for one and if you don't want it you can always cancel it." i was PISSED! First she tells me that "there's no obligations and is just to see if i qualify or not" NEVER did she tell me that I was signing up for a effing CREDIT CARD! Okay, she probably didn't meet her quota for getting customers to sign up that week or something. UGHHH! i was so pissed off that i demanded to talk to her manager. She brought her shift manager over and i was pissed off at what just happened and explained to her what just had happened. Next thing I knew, the shift manager started to yell at me! she was like 'its your fault for entering your SSN. you did it on your own will. So its nobody's fault but yours." At that moment i was like WTH?!! i was HELLLAAA PISSED and stormed off the store. I decided to call their head company and filed a complaint on that store. The lady that I was talking to was extremely nice and helpful. She told me that it shouldn't have happened and actually helped me out of that credit card. She also told me that she will be sending the complaint to their head company. I was still pissed off, especially at that shift manager. So the next day I called the store supervisor and explained to her what had happened the day before. She was extremely nice and apologized to me and asked me for the name of the cashier and what time I was at the store. WORST customer service AND shopping experience ever! read more

I only come to this store twice a year and that's because my sister gets a friends and family discount where is save 40% on top of discounted items. Who doesn't love sales right? Other than that I don't like to stop by because their store can get a little messy and unorganized. I love their children's clothing and even though their sizing is a bit whack, they have this location pretty stocked up and that's always a plus. I have never been approached by anyone working there to see if I need help or even greeted. They are always busy folding, stocking or cashing people out. Very, very busy location. read more

BEWARE OF THE CREDIT CARD FRAUD They sold me a credit card and said if I don't activate it, or don't use it, I won't end up owing them for anything. I never activated it and never used it. After 6 months I applied for a credit card at Bank of America. Got denied. Reason: 1 default credit line. Turns out these idiots at GAP put the purchase of my merchandise on the new credit card without asking me even when I had used my debit card to make the purchase at the time. Result: a bad credit, no good credit card, auto loan rejected twice and finally had to get an expensive auto loan with a lot of downpayment even though my earning are large. No help given my their customer care or the credit card company customer care. Bunch of frauds I would call them because same thing happened to two of my class mates. I wish to sue them but don't want to go through the harrowing experience of court and lawyers and put in extra money. I wish this company burns down to ashes. read more

Had a very annoying trip at this location. After a very long time of frustrating browsing and a lot of gathering of things I wanted to try on I was very rudely told that I was not allowed to try on what I had spent quite a bit of time finding because the fitting room was closed. There had been no announcements that the store was closing, no personnel advised me while I was shopping that the store was closing, and there was no mention or sign for a closing time of the fitting rooms. Big sale lost. Never returning to this location. I hope they enjoyed putting back all of my go backs with their very poor customer service. read more

went here yesterday with my 12 yr old daughter. found some shirts for her and i wanted her to try it on. went in the fitting room and was told that i can't go in. only 1 person inside the fitting room. what the heck! i am the mom and i want to see if it would fit her or not. so you want her to fit it, then get out of the fitting room and not sure if she would get out decent enough or if it looks good for everybody to see? and there are males and females in those fitting rooms. so we just get out and left the clothes. then on our way out, i asked one of the associate about it and she said i could go in because im the mom. i dont really want to but i went with her and she told the female in the fitting room that i should be able to go in because i'm the mom. she just frowned and said its the policy or whatever but if she (the associate i talked to) wants me to go in with my daughter, it's up to us. i just left because i don't want to spend my money with a company who has rude employees (although the one that helped us was nice and she was really trying to accomodate us) and who doesn't have any clear directions on what is their policy or not. so, goodbye gap! won't be coming back to your store for a long, long time. or until you get rid of your a***** employees!!! i can still spend my money elsewhere because you're not the only one that sells clothes!!! read more
