Almost all the listed companies have "high ratings" these days... hundreds of reviews, and yet they all have nearly 5 stars. Hard to even know how valid these reviews are. And I'm sure many are real, and they really did receive "good customer service." But how honest are these companies, even if they seem to be proving good customer service? You wouldn't know unless you did some research yourselves before calling the company. My garage door opener wasn't lifting up my garage door. Motor was working, but door wouldn't lift. After researching a bit, I suspected perhaps the springs were wearing down, and not helping to "lift" the garage door. This placed a lot of heavy work on the garage door opener and that the motor of my garage door opener was finally worn down because of that. I called one company that had 4.9 stars with over 800 reviews. Surely 800 people can't be wrong? Without even coming over to inspect, this person was 100% sure that I needed a new garage door opener, and that the "spring is absolutely not a factor in this." He wanted to charge me $875 to replace my garage opener. Well, I called Brea Hills Garage Door, and Curt begged to differ. He asked me what's wrong, had me take some pictures, and told me what he thought. Curt was spot on, and agreed with me that it could be my springs wearing down over the years, causing the door to be heavier for the motor to lift the garage, wearing down the motor. He even quoted me what he would charge if this diagnosis was accurate. no hidden cost. He told me that I did not need to buy a new expensive garage opener.
